I brought my dog in this morning after talking to staff yesterday. The staff member told me yesterday that I could bring my dog in at 8:30. as a walk in. I got there on time and then the staff member told me my dog could not be seen today. They would not give reason. I asked for an appointment next week and the staff member said they did not have a slot available. They wanted me to drop off my dog one day next week and they would get to him when they can. Put my dog in a cage all day for Annual Vaccinatons and not see the vet myself. RIDICOULOUS. I will not be going back. The staff used to great but now no help at all. Taking my dog to anorher Vet that cares about CUSTOMERS and ANIMALS.

Thank you Dr. Weatherly for going out of you way last night to give instructions on how to care for my daughter’s cat that had ingested some medication. We called you from near Houston because she had called home in a panic. She is attending SFA and we did not know who her local vet was and just randomly called one in Nacogdoches. Even after we determined EasTex Vet Clinic was not her local vet you still helped us. You really went above the call of duty. Thank you again for being so compassionate.

So, I am from Nacogdoches but have lived in Houston for the last many years. During my visit to Nacogdoches, my dog was showing life threatening concerns so quickly I call the vets I knew. This clinic was my first to contact and mind you, it was on a Saturday. I spoke with the on call individual who was nice but informed me that, “we won’t see a dog after hours unless you are a patient and recommend you drive to Lufkin.....” My first response was, are you serious?.?.?. So you are telling me that the life of an animal isn’t worth your time since I haven’t brought her there before! Now I guess I can drive to Lufkin and hope I don’t have to watch my dog pass away.... This tells me that none of you should be veterinarians because the life of animals aren’t a concern of yours. I would say thank you for your kindness but that would be a lie.

Absolutely love this place. Have been going here since 1995. They are wonderful. I have seen them almost do miracle's . They do their very best as if it were their own. They teach you how best to care for your pets needs. Over the years I have learned a lot. If you have emergency's you can walk in and wait. They close at 5:30pm. Appt are good.

This is a wonderful clinic, and both vets are awesome. We have a lot of pets, and will only trust Eastex Vet with them. Dr Acuna and Dr Richards are very knowledgeable and more than willing to help. The prices are reasonable. The front desk is amazing. I’m very happy to have this clinic for my fur-babies.

The staff up front are warm and welcoming. They know and remember my Fur Baby by name! (He is a French Bulldog named Herman) Both Dr Acuna and Dr Reynolds have seen him and both were professionals and so sweet to Herman. I would not take him anywhere else!

This is the best veterinary office in town. These negative reviews are obviously from ignorant people that do not realize medical treatment is expensive. If you can’t afford to take your animal to the doctor, don’t have an animal, because they may die when they get sick! I have been taking my animals here for 6 years and staff change or no staff change they are still the best. They always go easy on their pricing and on several occasions they have only charged me for medicine because the visits were short and easy problems. I even brought a stray cat once that I hit with my car, they did all surgeries and gave meds for a great price, which I paid because I ended up keeping him. But before I decided I was keeping him they referred me to a shelter in town that would have covered all of his costs for me and gave him a great home. This office is definitely not just “in it for the money” (no vet is, maybe look up how much they make and you’d think otherwise), they love all their animal patients here. Just wait until you have an animal get snakebit on a Sunday at midnight, these guys are the only people in town with a reliable 24 hour on call service, something I’ve used several times! No one that would wake themselves on night before the work week in the dead of night is just in it for money. They obviously have a love of animals and their job.

We have been coming here for years with our babies. One of our dogs was sick and not acting herself we called to try and get her in and was told to busy we could try and get her in the next day. My baby did not make it to the next day. I am very upset and do not understand why. It seems like they dont care and our only in it for the money. Makes me sick.

This place used to be the best. New employees not so much. One new girl had the nerve to say I should put my dog in a plastic bag in the freezer if she died over the weekend. MY DOG WEIGHED OVER 100 POUNDS. What a HEARTLESS thing to say when you're losing your baby! I hope they can fix this and go back to how awesome they used to be.

My dog died last night after calling these guys 4 times, the vet Mr.Acuna was suppose to reach back out to me "SHORTLY" that was over 1hr and 30mins before I even found out it was a shift change and he had already had his mind made up he wasn't helping. I was never contacted back I had to keep calling them. I told them my dog was dying each time I called they never even jumped, all I'll say is if you want your pet to be treated like a section 8 baby take them here. If you want them treated like a human and the child that they are go elsewhere or suffer the same fate Mia did. BTW this is her husband that was on the phone last night I have the call log to prove everything

Have been early to many of my appointments, they unfortunately have not been on time once. I get there for a 3pm appointment at 2:40 they can not see me till 3:40 then I wait in the vet room for another 20. Giving my business to Appleby Sand, This place has gone way down since Dr. James Weatherly left. Told me dog had a collapsed trachea wrong , guess what it was Pulmonary Inflammation. Even I knew that thanks for the waste of 300.00.

Arrived early for a 2:00 pm appointment. Waited in the exam room until 2:40 then left since the vet never showed. Later, they realized I had left and called to offer me an appointment the following day. By the time they called I had already secured an appointment with another surgeon. I will make the three hour drive to a vet I can depend on.

I really liked this vet and all the staff the times I came in. The vet was really straightforward and I liked that, plus all the staff are very nice. My cat deals with urinary issues, and he’s been to a vet about them three separate times costing hundreds of dollars each time. This vet finally introduced me to the food that seems to help him most and I’m thankful for that. However, I moved from Nac back to Dallas and can no longer afford to drive to get the cat food directly from them. Apparently, to get it elsewhere, I would need a prescription, so I called EasTex today to get one and they told me they don’t write prescriptions. They prefer to keep everything at their own vet office. They actually said the only way I could get the food was to drive to them? Like, I’m sorry? Three hours to get some cat food? I do not understand why they can’t write me a prescription to get cat food they already know my cat needs. It seems like poor ethics. The last time I was in with my cat, the vet basically told me that euthanizing him was a good option so we know my cats situation is bad.... and they won’t write me a prescription for the food that helps him???? I just don’t understand. They’re sending me the records that I bought the cat food before but I don’t know if that will be enough. Obviously I was going to have to find a new vet anyway, but I hadn’t planned on that being so fast. And I need the cat food now. If they won’t change this stupid and frankly heartless policy, the least they can do is be upfront about it. If I’d known they weren’t going to write prescriptions, I could have prepared better. A vet that doesn’t write prescriptions literally never crossed my mind. Now my cat has to eat a different cat food until I can get this figured out, assuming I can’t beg the sales associates at PetSmart to let me have it now. I don’t know if he’ll get sick again but if he does I’ll know who to blame.

Incredibly unethical experience. I found a kitten who was very clearly near death and suffering, i took her here hoping they would be kind enough to euthanize her. They looked at me with cash signs in their eyes and said "theres nothing we can do for you." because i didnt have the money for the shot. The kitten died about an hour later. If my animals ever need to see a vet, i'll make a trip to lufkin.
