You will see all the opinions of people who consume the services of Value Vet Main St. (Veterinarian) in Tennessee.
At this moment this firm receives a score of 4.1 stars over 5 and that rating is based on 119 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is high, and it's based on a high number of reviews, so we can say that the evaluation is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian corresponds to the category of Veterinary care.
I am on disability and broke before the end of the month my lil Ollie is a Shi-Poo and is my service dog. I called to schedule an appointment after looking up affordable vets. I canceled a few moments later when I was told they will not make payment arrangements that the bill has to be paid that day. Where is Affordable in Value Vet and where is the value in not treat a very sick service do for someone who is disabled.
We have been taking our pup to them since she was a baby. They are always super friendly and nice to her. The veterinarians are very knowledgeable. At times there is a long wait, but that is to be expected with most vet offices. Their prices mostly are reasonable compared to most vets, but there are a couple of services that seem a bit high. Overall though I highly recommend this office!
nice friendly and caring
Our dog have been going to Value Vet ever since she was 5 months old. We have been to this location a few times in the past and it's always been good. Had majority of problem at nolensville rd location which we no longer go to. This visit wasn't the best visit due to us having to put our dog to sleep today, but what the staff here did here today made us so welcome as we were going through major grief. Thanks to all the staff and vet who assisted us today. It meant the world to us as much sadness was in our heart.
Very nice folks here and you cant beat the prices
We've been taking our new kitten here since we got her at 8 weeks old. They've been nothing but helpful, informative, and exceptionally nice. They've never tried to up sell me on unnecessary products and have been all around amazing. Don't be fooled by the name, this place is clean, well maintained, and they provide excellent service. I highly recommend Value Vet to anyone looking for a place to take their family pets.
Big shout out to Value Vet! I had a foster kitten that needed attention one afternoon, and the vet tech and vet were more than accommodating. I didn't have an appointment, but they worked me right in. (And I really appreciate the service, as this was after going to my regular vet who decided not to make time to help.) They were friendly, compassionate and very helpful. It was a great experience!
The staff are always friendly and helpful. My puppy gets lots of attention and it's affordable for me!
Great people here. They were very good to my dog and they are reasonably priced
I always take my dogs here. Friendly and professional staff. When I arrived for my dogs vet check they were handling some emergency procedure with two other dogs. The techs were great. They kept us informed on what was going on and did all the preliminary testing before the vet arrived. Her checkup was quick and she even picked out an issue with my dog and gave her treatment. 2 Weeks later its like shes a puppy again. Definitely worth the money.
Terrible! I waited for close to an hour for my dog to be treated for a simple bordetella shot. The vet came in and 20min later still hadn't returned. I had to go out to get someone after waiting 40min. Bad service would not recommend at all!
My six week old puppy got Parvo virus and almost died. These ladies were able to save her life. They are so awesome and understanding. They walk you through step by step process and keep you informed. 5 stars
Friendly staff
I love Value Vet but not this location
Fast friendly and very helpful . Explained everything going on with my kitten
Prices were incredibly acceptable. Staff was very friendly and kind
They took Really Good Care of My Little Chihuahua Betzy
Fast visit with friendly people.
Had my Bajie fixed and shots. They did a great job!
Terrible took my dog and the doctor was holding him down by the neck my dog started to freak out I told the doctor to let go but he wouldn't and stated he needed to show the dog who was in charge my son started to freak out and telling the doctor to leave his dog alone. Still he refused and my dog pissed and pooed on him self and the dotor slung my dog across the room. Now my son is afraid to take our dog to a vet.
Brought six month old, sweet and friendly dog to get fixed, nails clipped, etc. Dropped dog off 7:30 AM. Received call that they could not get her out of the cage and that she was very aggressive, which is unlike her. Told us we would have to reschedule and give her a seditive for next time. Came 5:30 dog was still in cage covered in urine. When asked if they had fed or watered her they admitted they had not even though she hadn't drink since the prior evening for surgery prep. Not happy! Not recommended!
Great compassionate care and at a reasonable price
Super bummer! Took over 30 mins to get me into my scheduled appointment and took another 45+ minutes. The vet forgot about me and I had to go out and ask if they were still coming in. I’d recommend coming on a weekday - they are pretty busy and only have one vet on weekends.
The Woman Vet is a joke! When I made the appointment I made it clear an XRay would be needed, I was told while at the appointment they coulnt do an XRay at that location that I would have to make another appointment for another location. Thank goodness my fur babys leg got better and he didnt need an XRay!!
The vet/vet techs at the main st location seemed scared of my dog ( 70 lb) golden retriever/chow mix despite him being very manageable in my opinion. For years, Value vet required me to sedate him beforehand and made me muzzle him myself once we got there before doing anything including shots and other routine services despite him never biting anyone. Yes he growls, but it was more indicative of a lack of skills in dog handling on the vet tech’s part that kept them from treating him versus a reflection of my dog’s temperament. But I kept taking him there since I guess chows have a reputation... Today I was forced to go elsewhere because he had an injury and valuevet couldn’t fit him in. Banfield off of thoroughbred lane had no problem treating him and his injury without any issue. They did not ask me to muzzle him. In fact, they did it themselves as professionals do and they said he did a great job! My dog officially has a new vet!
Was given a baby puppy. Carried her for baby shots and to be checked out. All went well. Puppy was placed with granddaughter. Nice place to carry your pets cheap. They do the same care and procedures as the big pet store. Glad to have a place like this in my area.
We've had great service here for our two rescue dogs. Yes, it is tiny and bare-bones, but the vets and techs are kind and knowledgeable. Because they have locations around town, if you are willing to travel around, you can almost always get an appointment. For serious surgeries and other treatments our pets have needed, they send us to Blue Pearl, which is a full service and specialty pet clinic and hospital, which I highly recommend. However, Blue Pearl is far away and expensive. For regular check-ups and the usual needs, Value Vet is very satisfactory and affordable.
Honestly blown away by the experience I had this morning. I’ve been needing to find a new vet since I moved and the amount I was spending at my old vet was extreme. Today I called once I noticed my pup breathing weird. It was time to refill his meds and they saw me immediately and it was so much more affordable. Dr Barb was great as well as the other staff that was there. I’ll definitely be using these guys from now on
Reasonable price, friendly staff..
Rant on Value Vet. I am so disappointed in Value Vet. They used to be the place I would take the dogs but since they are now under new management they have changed a lot and not for the better!!! My dogs needed rabies shots. That. Was. It. 1. My appointment was at 11:20. They didn't see us till 12:00. 2. The vet techs hated their jobs. They had bad attitudes and and acted like it was a huge inconvenience to see us even though I made the appointment a week ago. 3. They require an "exam" before they give the vaccine which in turn was the vet listening to their hearts, petting them on the head and saying "they look great." 4. They were acting sketchy. When I asked why they needed an exam the vet said "that's the over all policy now." When I asked the over all policy for whom? The state? Or Value Vet? She stated "Just the over all policy." And wouldn't elaborate. 5. The vet messed up.....twice. She poked through both dogs skin, squirted the vaccine liquid on the floor and blamed it on faulty needles. Both dogs were poked over 4 times!!! 6. Because the new policy of value vet requires an exam the bill was over $100!!!! When I told them that was way too expensive they just said, "Well, that's the over all policy. It's not like you can just walk into a doctors office and receive some medicine. You have to have relationship with the doctor." To which I replied, "Yes you can. They're called walk-in clinics." I will never bring my dogs back there again!!! Now I know better. Shame on you Value Vet. What a joke.
Always take great care of my boy Kane. Got him neutered and recovered quickly. This was first day lol.
If you want to let the vets here play a guessing game at your wallets expense, than this is the place for you. 3 times now I've had to call back because the first and second medication didn't work. They didn't even back with me for 2 DAYS. Okay you can't get everything right the first time time, understandable. But to keep charging me when it's your mistake. Or to charge me to bring her back in just to look at her when you couldn't do your job correctly in the first place. Well that's unacceptable. Will not be returning and definitely recommend a different vet if you care about your pet. Staff was friendly. The only positive here. They have no idea what they're doing.
Friendly staff, with appointment, in/out in a breeze
Three star because my pet has gentle skin this will be her third visit I am not happy with this problem since the last week of July I can't keep doing this I am low-income person but I love my pet
I’ve taken my cats there and they are so pleasant and Great with your pets. I would recommend them to everyone.
Never been to the main street one but i always tk my fur baby to the Inglewood one by litton high school there so good with my baby and always have gd customer service wouldn't tk mine any where else
Mostly have always been extremely pleased with the service my pets have received.
I had taken our dog Kaya there for normal routine exams and shots for years and had a good experience. But we had a bad experience with her surgery. First, we did a test anesthesia and urine analysis to make sure she would be okay going under for surgery. The day of the surgery came and we still didn't hear back and the staff called us to see if we wanted to go ahead and do the surgery without the results. We were like HELL NO! We rescheduled the surgery for a later date. We paid for an expensive biopsy to be done on the mass and after three weeks of calling them, they finally called us to say that the pet pathology service lost it AND it wasn't their fault. They said they would refund the money and that I should just monitor the area if there was any other growth. I understand that mistakes happen and they outsource their services, but there was just a series of events and disorganization.
My maltese has chronic ear infections, but it got to the point that his meds were no longer effective. Being new to town, we figured we'd try Value Vet. Big mistake. First off, we waited over half an hour past our appt time to see the vet. As if that wasn't enough, they didn't have any of the records we had faxed over the day prior. Rough first impression. As we explained the problem and how we had been treating it to no avail, the vet seemed to only be halfway listening. She prescribed a medication that was pretty much the same thing we'd been using. When we pressed her with the fact that that medication wasn't working, she simply explained "it's basically the same thing, just with some different ingredients". Oh. Thanks for being so thorough. At any rate, we checked out and proceeded to use the new medication. It didn't work. The infection actually kept getting worse. My wife refused to go back to Value Vet, so we took our dog to McCormick Animal Clinic near our home in Donelson. They prescribed 2 weeks of antibiotics that cleared up the ear infection almost immediately. How nice. A vet with a clue! Save your time. Save your money. Skip Value Vet.
They have been taking good care of my puppy
I just want to thank the staff for being so wonderful and compassionate . Dr. Barla took the time to write my family a sympathy card, i cant begin to tell you how much that meant to all of us.
Compassionate staff and good experience under our difficult circumstances.
ValueVet has done An amazing job with our furry kids. They have shown great care and compassion and have suggested medications well within my sometimes limited budget.
I went to this value vet for the first time the other day and have been thinking about leaving a review. I waited almost 30 minutes passed my appointment time, which I've never had to do at any value vet before! (Murfreesboro and Bellevue) the staff was nice I guess, not friendly, and one staff member was actually quite rude when I asked her a question about my cat. She didn't even answer the question, just handed me my receipt and walked off. Definitely going to make the drive to another value vet because East Nashville did not make me want to come back.
DO NOT waste your money!! You will end up spending far more money in the long run when you have to bring your dog to another vet anyway!! I brought my elderly dog there two weeks ago because he was starting out fine then two minutes in collapsing and not being able to walk. I assured the vet that I have seen him in pain and that wasn't pain. And the vet, without running any clinical tests assured me it was orthopedic and REFUSED to do anything but prescribe pain killers for the rest of his life. Feeling uneasy, I then paid for a second exam at the vet I prefer (they were just getting too expensive with all of the treatment an old dog needs) and they ran a bunch of clinical easy tests to determine that it was neurological and there was a cure for it! I then decided to still give Value Vet the benefit of the doubt to bring my new 6 month old in that I just picked up at the pound with a respiratory infection. Again, the vet assured me it was fine, probably from the tubes during surgery getting spayed, and not to worry. Now my other dog has caught whatever "wasn't an issue" with the puppy and I'm stuck with now two sick dogs to bring back to my other vet. If I could give them 0 stars I would.
I have a 7yr old Chihuahua I adopted at 9months old he had been serverly mistreated and was scared of everything and especially people. So when took to the vet Was nervous of how he would react to new people. long story short They where great with him they lovedo on him. The staff is kind and helpful clean establishment. Highly recommended.
Always nice. Fast much cheaper than designer vets
Took good care of my dogs at a reasonable price.
Kind and gentle with our poodle mix. Answered all our questions. Great doc, great staff. Diagnosis/treatment worked. Clean place.
Love this place...everyone is so friendly. even with my HUGE Great Dane that takes the place over! Love the fact that you only pay for what you need. Don't need an exam? Don't pay for an exam! Very accommodating and easy to work with making appointments, too!
I like this place for pet care
Great place all my 3 dogs go here and they are extremly healthy
Took my little Blind and Deaf cat in for her breathing .All was easy with her for she scares very easy. She breathing better now. Thank you all for taking care of her.
Excellent care with reasonable prices.
had to make repeated return trips for same issue finally got fed up went to Caudle Vet like em much better
Excellent get good prices
Very great
Very nice staff, reasonable prices
Fast affordable.
Nice space, nice people. Thought $17.50 was a bit high for a 30-second nail trim on an 8 pound compliant chihuahua. Not much of a "value" there.
Really nice folks who spent a fair amount of time with us. And you can’t beat the prices.
Clean, very friendly and helpful.
Friendly people and good service
They are very caring and loving with your pets
The staff is friendly. But every time I go, the schedule is running behind. I don't like that the wait area is usually crowded (with people waiting on their appointments due to the schedule running behind). The atmosphere seems anxious and thus the dogs pace. My dog is of the vet-anxiety kind and so this is never a good time.
Compassionate staff, discount prices on Spays and Nueters. I paid just $70 for my puppy's nueter and nail trim, they even examed and cleaned his teeth! Appointments are necessary as they serve all of the Nashville area.
Had a pretty bad experience 2 years ago. ;(
Staff was very pleasant with the animals
So very understanding when you need to put down a pet. Great people and servive
The staff here is absolutely wonderful. They went over and above for our dog and they really care about the pets and their families. I recommend them 110%!!!
Very friendly and knowledgeable about my new puppy.
I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment. I then waited almost 35 minutes to be waited on. Once in the exam room, the doctor came in quickly, then left me in the room for 45 minutes while she and her nurses gossipped unprofessionally about patients. All I needed was a rabies vaccine and it took me over 2 hours to get out. This is a great place to go if you like to jerked around. What a waste of an afternoon. If you desperately need attention for your pet, you would be better off shooting it than coming to this dump.
Fast efficient service
I have been taking my Lasa there for two years now and I love it. They are very nice and professional. We have been to several vets for the constant scratching. All the other vets said it was a fungus. Value vet staff actually asked a lot of questions and found it was a food allergy. Now my Lasa is sleeping well.
