These people are amazing. Every staff member I encountered had a friendly vibe. Dr. Morrill totally rocks. She diagnosed my dog with heartworms and was able to refer me to an awesome surgeon, Dr. Parker at Shelby Center for Animals. Dr. Morrill even took the time to get a quote from the Shelby Center to make sure it was something affordable for me. After the surgery at Shelby Center, the staff there contacted the staff at The Pet Hospitals to let them know how it went. Dr.Morrill took the time to call and tell me that she was happy to hear the surgery went well. Even though that was the only time I had been in there, I felt like Dr. Morrill really cared about my dog.

We have been taking our animals here for a little over a year now. They were SUPER easy to switch to. They handle most of the work on their end. The staff is always so friendly. We were unfortunate enough to have to put down one of our cats due to a rare disease and they went above and beyond for us. We normally see Dr. Bugg & Dr. Pyrtle. What sets The Pet Hospital at Poplar and Massey apart (for me) is Dr. Kaity Morrill. I’ve taken 2 pets to this location, every experience is better than the last. Reception is consistently kind, the vet techs are always happy, helpful, and knowledgeable. Dr Morrill cares about your pets. She always remembers my pets and her history with them. She’s detailed oriented as well as compassionate while treating our fur babies. There are so many options when it comes to who you choose to care for your pet. I will always choose Dr Morrill at the Pet Hospital. I trust her to care for my pet just as much as I care for my pet.

They have been so sweet and helpful with both of our dogs! One of our dogs has bad anxiety and they always make sure she gets back to a room quickly. I’m definitely always taking them here when they need a vet.

While they are a little pricier than your small local community vet, they are thorough, talk with you not at you, listen and answer questions well and show genuine concern. It’s wonderful that you can book an appointment on line at the location you want with the vet you want and pretty much the time you want. I have never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen. There’s no more leaving the house at 7:30am and getting home at noon because it’s first come first serve and everyone had the same plan. Those manning the front desk are sweet, kind, polite and behave as though they really do want to be there AND be helpful. I have yet to encounter a disgruntled employee or a vet that I have to ask to speak in layman’s terms nor one that just has no clue because cats are so hard to diagnose. They also have multiple locations and some of those have Sunday hours. I am so glad I took the advice of family and friends and made an appointment. And my dogs and cats are happy too.

I took my 2 dogs in 4 their flu shot as it was @ least 10.00 cheaper for each dog than any other vet i called. All of the staff whether on the phone and / or in person were very friendly, helpful, and compassionate !!! I highly recommend them and they have great hours and also to get just a nail trim it is only $1.00 , yes $ 1.00 plus on their website it shows about discounts they offer 4 new clients !! They have several locations !!!!

Pushy more concerned about pushing test and products on to patient's that are unnecessary. Drs are very rude to techs. Techs do all the work and you may see a vet for 5 min. In tht 5 min they try to get you to spend more money then you were expecting.

We initially visited the Pet Hospitals because they offered a free examination and immunizations when we adopted our puppy in 2012. We immediately loved Dr. Barton. She has always taken the time to listen and offer helpful and practical solutions, and she saved our dog's life when he was only a few months old. The staff members are always incredibly helpful and friendly. We never have to wait long, and the entire office is spotless. Even though we live in Midtown, we don't mind making the drive to see the crew at Poplar + Massey.

I visited the Poplar Massey location on Saturday for a second opinion. The staff is kind and considerate. Dr. Bugg is knowledgeable, personable, and compassionate. She gave me peace of mind and encouragement. She truly loves the animals. Apparently, The Pet Hospitals will provide a second opinion visit at no charge! The vet tech even carried my 22-lb kitty out to the car (and that’s a heavy carrier!) of her own accord. I’m truly impressed with The Pet Hospitals, and recommend them highly.

My big rescued dog, Dexter, had his first visit at The Pet Hospitals on June 6. Because he was abused as a young puppy before I got him, he's usually fearful with vets and very, very slow to trust (and sometimes never does get there). Dexter exhibited absolutely NO FEAR after he came in to the clinic, and happily greeted every employee, from tech to vet! They were all so wonderful with him, treated him so lovingly, and gave him treats. (It took his last vet over five years to get Dexter to take a treat from him or the tech - and they were very nice people, too.) Dr. Pirtle explained everything very thoroughly and took all the time we needed. It was really wonderful to see Dexter totally relaxed and not fearful as Dr. Pirtle examined him, and Dr. Pirtle felt no need to put a muzzle on Dexter, either. Overall, Dexter got excellent care in a zero stress environment. You can't do better than that! Dexter didn't even try to leave while I was paying the bill. He just sat and chilled, in no hurry to go anywhere else. :)

This is my first office visit with this hopital. I have been trying to get in with my other pet facitilities and needless to say they were non responsive. Originallly, my large dog was scheduled for annuals and grooming; but, an incident happened the night before her visit where a large dog (owner unknown) attacked my smaller dog in my back yard. He was seriously injured (my smaller dog). I called them the day of my large dog's visit and asked could I put my smaller dog in its place and reschedule. (Most hospitals do not like to double book here in Memphis.) But when I explained the urgency of the situation, the receptionist put me in and the rest is customer service history. They were exceptional with both my dogs. I cannot thank the vet enough for her concern with my smaller dog. He will be going back to have staples removed and for his annual and grooming. Cannot wait to post the before and after pics. Loving this place.

I highly recommend Dr. Bugg and the staff at The Pet Hospitals -- Poplar and Massey. I've owned, bred, and shown dogs since 1993 and will not let just anyone take care of my babies. I started with Dr. Bugg and staff upon the retirement of Dr. Blackburn and I've found them to be caring, attentive, friendly, and excellent. Importantly, I've also found them to be reasonably-priced. Cost is often the elephant in the room when people talk about veterinary care, but the simple fact is that some places are less expensive than others. Cheaper does not mean less effective, however, and it's nice to see that TPH keeps their prices in the reasonable range. All in all, I'm very satisfied and feel like my dogs are in good hands!

The whole staff is amazing, Thank you so much Dr. Bugg for your help. My dog Candy had bloody diarrhea, so I took her here. The veterinarian office she’s gone to all the time closed. I was scare of taking her somewhere new, because my dog is not the friendliest. I went to their website and made an appointment it was so easy, and they gave me an appointment the same day, which was amazing because I couldn’t wait any longer to know what was wrong with her. They gave me an estimate of how much it would be, for her meds which to me was great. They let me sit in a exam room as soon as I came in, it was so much easier to fill out forms, because my dog could be next to me calm and not waiting in the waiting room. I loved how they explained everything to me, they made sure I left there with no questions about how to give my dog her medication. The day after they checked in with me to make sure she was doing better. Only a day later and my dog was much better, and she’s back to eating normal and playing. The pet hospital will definitely become my dogs go to vet!

A couple of months ago I had just moved to Memphis and I was very unfamiliar with the town and the vets. I had to unfortunately put my senior dog to sleep when I first moved here and the staff at "The Pet Hospital" made availability for me right away, no questions asked, and helped me in a time of need when I knew no one. They are kind, caring, considerate, passionate staff and it is displayed in how they take care of not only the animal but the human as well. Now I have two new baby puppies and Dr. Pirtle and "The Pet Hospital" was the only place that I knew I wanted to go for my new fur babies. The vet techs are very knowledgeable and take the time needed to explain everything. I never felt rushed. I will continue to use this hospital as long as I live in Memphis and have pets.

I came to The Pet Hospitals looking for a second opinion for my dog. Dr. Katie Morrill was recommended to me and let me tell you, she is a God send. I was very loyal to my previous veterinarian, but the care she gives and the time she takes out of her day (on her personal time as well) is above and beyond. She is very intelligent, answers all my questions no matter how long it takes, easy to talk to, and genuinely cares for her "patients". My dog has to be on several expensive medications and she even sent me coupons for them. My dog is like my child so I have very high expectations, and this place has exceeded them all. I truly can't say enough.

We took our precious little Chihuahua, Sassy, in there, after she had an episode of stopping to breathe. Between the physician's assistant and the veterinarian who were on staff on that day, they were both outstanding! Doctor Bugg diagnosed the problem immediately, told us what we needed for her and even started her on that medication before we left the office. We saw an immediate improvement in Sassy and even moreso as the week progressed. If it had not been for Dr. Bugg, we very easily could have lost our Sassy.

I thought veterinarians were for if your pet got sick. But The Pet Hospitals do much more than that. I will take my dog, Genoa there to get full service care. The staff at the hospital were so knowledgeable and answered all of my concerns. One day after I adopted my puppy, I had to leave her at a doggy daycare. After being there for only 3 days, Genoa developed some very bad habits she did not have before. From now on if I have to leave her anywhere, I will use the service provided by The Pet Hospitals. I am contacting their dog trainer today to get help with the problems she developed while at the first doogy daycare I left her at. I am so happy I went to The Pet Hospitals first. I won’t take Genoa anywhere else.

I love bringing my dog, Jack, to the Pet Hospitals for daycare and for vet care! The moment we walk in, he is greeted so sweetly and welcomed! The staff is wonderful to him and I feel so confident he is well cared for. I appreciate the informative communication I receive from the doctors and the staff. Jack actually loves going to the vet :)

I'm raising my rating due to quick response from management and updating with more detail: We took advantage of the Humane Society's spay voucher. When making the appointment, no mention of extra charges for dogs over 60 lbs was mentioned despite telling them I have large dog breeds. I had to ask for precare instructions and was not informed of any requirements for the operation. After dropping my first dog off, I was called mid day and told that there'd be an extra charge for dogs over 60 lbs. I was later called again and told that I would be charged for a shot she needed. Upon pickup, we were informed that there'd be another charge for the e-collar and medicine. We asked about spay at other businesses before using the pet hospital and they provided us with quotes with a breakdown of every charge before the procedure. All of these businesses included large breed dog charge, medicine, and e-collar, so we assumed it was a standard best practice not to hide these charges until the day of the operation. We believed we were getting a competitive rate and a good deal. Instead, we were meet with hidden charges and fees that were not disclosed on the front end. That being said, the procedure was great. The doctors were attentive and even followed up. But the administrative portion left a bad taste in our mouths. My recommendation for improvement: Be up front with your customers about extra charges and fees before they commit to doing business with you.

She was personable, professional and proactive about Carbon's treatment. She called us multiple times to give us updates. Dr. Pannell and The Pet Hospitals are the BEST! I know we are in great hands! Contrary to our previous 'vet' we would only see vet techs and were pushed out the door as quickly as possible. Dr. Pannell and her tech were patient and happy to answer all of my questions and were super thorough! The staff was super friendly, the office and exam rooms were clean and welcoming, and their follow up was wonderful as well.

Our vet was closed when our dog Buddy became ill. We thought he suffered a stroke. When calling, the person on the phone was very professional and helpful. Upon our arrival they took Buddy back to a treatment room immediately. Dr. Bugg looked at Buddy and gave him a preliminary test. She felt Buddy had pulled a muscle and gave him medication to treat the ailment. After the diagnosis, she prescribed medication and Buddy was back to his normal self within one day. We would certainly us Pet Hospital in the future. We were also in and out within 30 minutes.

This office is a bit of a drive for me but I really like Dr. Barton. I think she really cares, has a great personality, and good communication with pet owners. I'd recommend her to anyone! The only negative thing I can say is that sometimes I get poor service at the front desk, almost like my presence was a burden. Perhaps I come during bad times? Great office though!

When I adopted my kitten from the Memphis Humane Society the Pet Hospital was one of the clinics suggested to receive the remainder of his shots and I am so happy I picked them. I cant imagine feeling this comfortable and happy with anyone else. I recently brought in my other cat for her annual appointment and the prices are so reasonable plus $1 nail trims....WHAT!?! All staff is welcoming and professional. Dr. Bugg is great, she listened to all my questions, and even sent me an email to do farther research. They really care here!
