We started taking our cat, Sugar, to Dr. Butler 15 years ago, back when they were behind Grassland Shell. He and his team de-clawed her, spayed her, and kept up with her yearly check ups. Then we added a sweet Maltese, Muffin, to the family. Dr.Butler cleaned his teeth and always took excellent care of our scared little fur ball. When Sugar and Muffin passed away, Pet Vet sent us hand written notes of their condolences. Now, my 2 King Charles's and Golden retriever are loved by Pet Vet just as much as my original two. We have followed Pet Vet to three locations, watched them add more staff, and more square footage. Many people would think that their growth would change their love and care for our pets, but not once have I felt like my fur babies were not under the best care. We love you Pet Vet team!

If you are looking for only the BEST care for your pet, look no further- Pet Vet, and specifically Dr. Mays, won't disappoint He's very scientific and seeks solutions to complicated issues, yet he has excellent bedside manner which is not often accompanying such a scientific mind! His genuine LOVE of animals is evident. I called Pet Vet on a holiday weekend, 20 min's prior to close. Our Yorkie was at a SOUTH FRANKLIN vet prior, who told us there was no hope and went on to discuss various euthanasia options- all the way up to the expensive killing procedures. She had a wall of fame with euthanized pets that was the wall of pride. Our dog had energy and a will to live, albeit a huge tumor on her leg. The S Franklin vet said if our Yorkie was younger, taking off her leg would be an option, but in her situation only death. That's when I reached out to Dr Mays. He wasn't afraid to address the issues. He removed the tumor, & has invested blood, sweat, and tears right along with us. She's doing MUCH better!!! Dr. Mays is short for " Dr. Amazing". He's nothing short of a miracle worker. Shout out to Kathy- the receptionist that day. She could've EASILY said it was closing time and they wanted to enjoy their holiday weekend. Instead, she lovingly & caringly tended to us and could sense our fear, pain, & heartache. She said she asked all the doctors if anyone wanted to stay late and see our little broken angel who couldn't fly, and Dr. Amazing volunteered. He didn't charge overage charges or gouge us- in fact, he's been nothing short of a miracle. In all- after all the stays, meds, etc etc etc- less than the euthanasia. This place is the first and last to call... you will find MIRACLES happening here!

Pet Vet has been a wonderful experience for our family, each time we take our cat or pup in for checkups. Their staff is experienced, friendly, accommodating to kids and their prices are reasonable. We make the trip from downtown Nashville because we have always appreciated the work of our friends at Pet Vet.

I can't say enough good about petvet. We've since moved to Fairview, but still take our pets to petvet. On 2/26/18 we had to put our beloved German shepherd, Julia, to sleep. Their love, gentle demeanor, and kindness will never be forgotten. They also listen very well, as we have 4 rescue cats. One was very ill, they found the ailment, gave her antibiotics, unlike a vet that continued to give her the same medication never listening that she needed something different. She's a healthy cat today because of them.

Dr. David Butler is the most compassionate,knowledgeable vet I have ever known. My yorkie just went in for a five yr check up. As always, the staff were there to greet and get us into the examination room. They are all super. He answers all your questions and takes special time with your pet. Yea for Pet Vet.....best animal hospital...Have been using him for at least 20 years

We transferred here when we had an emergency and Bellevue Animal Hospital had no vets in. Best decision ever. The vet and his assistant took so much time with our dog, were so friendly, and really really cared. We will be coming back for years to come.

It’s wonderful! Clean, bright colors, and extremely friendly staff. It’s like going to the pediatrician’s office - for animals! I’ve been 4 times now and I’ve never had to wait more than 5 mins. Such a great idea to pay while you are still in the room. Much easier to manage with your pet with you.

Dr. Butler is very soothing to my anxious dog. She tends to be very nervous around strangers but is completely calm with Dr. Butler and almost melts into his arms. The staff are very friendly and take a lot of time to answer your questions. The office is very clean and brightly decorated. Would recommend them highly.

My dog cut his foot on something and was bleeding badly. I knew they were near, so I stopped just in case they could help us. They took us in immediately and got us fixed up right away. We were so impressed by the vet and staff that we're going to change them to put primary vets. Highly recommended!
