I had an all around great experience here yesterday. My kitten had taken out a few of her stitches from her surgery and we took her in and were helped within minutes of arrival. Everyone was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. We weren't overcharged and were given great advice. I will definitely bring my kitten back here for future visits! I definitely recommend this practice to anyone who wants the most sincere care possible for their fur babies!

i would not take an animal to this hospital that had passed to see andpronounce him passed especially if i had to be seen by dr vancil. this is my opinion of this hospital on 23 january 2019,after my visit.

Dr. Connor is probably the most kind and professional veterinarian I have ever met in my life. I was referred to Nashville from a Clarksville vet that determined my dog needed more expert care. They had never met us before but Dr. Connor was so supportive and honest and she gave me plenty of emotional space in order to make decisions. Unfortunately, my pup didn’t make it through his ordeal. We are devastated as a family but there is so much comfort knowing that in his last moments our dog was loved so much by the ENTIRE STAFF at this animal hospital. I would never be able to thank them all enough for their kind and loving support.

Our cat Oskar has had his bladder tube blocked before, so very late on a Saturday night I could tell it was happening again. I got up about 3 am & started looking for an emergency vet. Found Nashville Veterinary Specialist & am so glad I did. I had called & as soon as I walked in the door with him, they immediately whisked him off because they knew how serious this can be. Everyone was so nice & professional in this office, I can't express the gratitude I felt from every staff member. We had only moved to the area a few days before then & will definitely go there again if I need an emergency vet.

The on-call vet we had was a Godsend to us in a very difficult and painful situation. The empathy was tangible. Professional and compassionate.

Wonderful experience! I had to take my cat in on Sunday, December 23 (Not only was it a Sunday but I was visiting from out of state so I didn't have a regular vet.) They checked him right away and then the Vet called me back and explained the problem and discussed treatment options. I was also given cost estimates. My cat was in the hospital there for 2 days - came home on Christmas day. I called on the 26th with a question and they promptly returned my call and answered my question. These people saved my cat's life! They were caring and compassionate and I would recommend them to anyone!

Isabel Turley

This hospital is really amazing. I brought my cat to them after she had been missing for 2 months. She was severely malnourished and dehydrated, and the vets did everything they could to get her stablized. I’m so grateful to them!!! Great communication, they did a great job of keeping me updated and sending her home as soon as they could.

Elizabeth Hornak

They were awesome with Bella I would recommend them for sure !!

Ronald Kentley

Very organized and friendly place. Came from out of town and was able to get in.

Terri Atchley

They truly took the best care of Tizzy that she could have during her stay here! Awesome people! Open 24 hours

Melodie Chase

They saw us immediately and were great about updating us along the way. They worked with us financially since we were obviously overwhelmed by the cost. They also were able to fill our dog's prescriptions for less than it would cost to order them online with a discount. Sweet staff with caring hearts.

Barbara Allen

They are amazing, dr roach did surgery on mollie on her right rear knee. Mollie who 8s afraid of going to the vet, she walks right on in to the clinic with no issues. Everyone is great from the time you walk into the clinic. Then September 1,2019 we brought in radar . Our 16 year old cocker spaniel due to it was time for him to cross the rainbow, he was evaluated by the technician and by dr Joshua Good he came into the room and checked him over and ask question about his quality of life. He could have run test but the out come would be the same, dr. Good confirmed what we had already felt. It was time to send radar over the rainbow. They have a family room where it is comfortable for you and your pet to say good bye. I highly recommend them to anybody for anything. They are very compassionate with our fur babies.

Yvonne Bender

The vet that treat my fur baby was very nice and had my baby’s welfare first and foremost in mind. She realized and expressed that she knew she was scared and treated her great.

Carol Brown

Nashville Veterinary Specialists accepted our Bulldog through emergency with very little notice. The exam was so thorough and they were so kind and respectful to our pup. In just 3 days she has made incredible progress! We are so thankful for the entire team!

We had to rush our cat in this past Tuesday night. Our baby is only 5 and a half years old and he was dying in my arms and we ran in the door crying our eyes out. The lady ran up to me right away and I told her please help him. They rushed him back very quickly and they got us into one of the rooms to wait for the vet. Unfortunately for our beloved Jaxon, the vet advised us to let him pass into kitty heaven. She was soooooo compassionate and she cried with us. She is one of the best vet I've ever encountered and I entrust her into doing the right thing for our baby. This will always be the place where I would rush any of my animals there. The staffs were so kind especially one older lady came up to me and give a hug and offered me water but the vet took us back into the room before she came back. But I just wanted to say THANK YOU whomever you are!!!!! I don't remember the vets name either but she's awesome. Due to our conditions we didn't pay attention to names.

I took my Dachshund there as a emergency for her spine, the Doctor there that night sent me home with pain meds and said to follow up with her regular vet , at this point she had already lost use of her back legs but she still had feeling , well she got worse so by the second day I took her to her vet and he said she should have been on the operating table the night I took her in, that once they loose use of their legs there is an 8 - 12 hour window that the surgery will help. Well my baby girl had to be put down because it was too late for her thanks to you all. You need to better educate yourself on this issue. You don't even deserve the one star I gave you. Thanks alot

Thought I was going to spend Memorial Day here. Was in and out pretty quick and they didnt hurt my wallet!

Amy Gilbert

I took my dog in when he was in an Addison's crisis. I didn't know at the time what was happening. I thought I was losing him and truly I was. They were so warm, welcoming and gave me great comfort that he was in the BEST Hands. While I was terrified to leave him overnight, when I went back to the room to tell him bye (which they offered for me to do), he had a tech in his cage with him, taking his blood pressure and she never even looked up at me. Her only concern was him and his vitals/well being. I got up and looked around and it was running like a well-oiled ER room from a Emmy Award winning Television Series. I knew, in that moment, that my baby was where he needed to be. I'm happy to say that he's made a miraculous recovery and I am picking him up this afternoon. I highly recommend Nashville Veterinary Specialists!

Nicole Dye

I would definitely recommend Nashville Veterinary Specialists. My cat ate some yarn late on a Saturday, so I had to rush him there. They were able to take X-rays and determine he had in fact a linear foreign body and would need surgery. The surgeon called me before the surgery and also after the surgery to let me know all went well. They also did a great job of keeping me in the loop as he was recovering the next days. I'm very thankful for the great care they took of my cat, Nash.

Kenna McConnell

We had a great experience taking our cat here. He had a blockage (something that has happened in the past), we called before just to see if we should bring him in. When we arrived they had someone there to take him back immediately to get looked at. We didn't have to wait long to get a room and we were out of there in two hours-they had to keep him for two nights, but they took really great care of him and called me with updates in the morning/afternoon. My husband was able to visit him and spend time with him in a separate room. He is home now, sleeping/eating/purring/biscuiting and peeing freely! Thank you!

In June Our Pup Beckett was being treated by my regular vet for an unknown illness, he took a turn for the worse and we ended up in Nashville Veterinary Specialist, they were all so kind and kept me up to date. Unfortunately Beckett didn't make it, but I know he had the best of care. Thank you for all you do

We were out of town, staying in Clarksville, when our 11 yr old hound/lab began acting 'off' and we knew something was wrong. When she began to refuse food - and all favorites - we took her to a vet in the area. As my 'gut' was telling me, the news was not good. An x-ray showed a large mass on her spleen. We were immediately referred to Nashville Veterinary Specialists. An ultrasound told us the worst - large mass on spleen, spreading to liver. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Good. He was so kind and empathetic as we struggled with doing the right thing vs selfishly wanting to take her home and keep her going, knowing she was in pain and was not going to get better. Dr. Good gave us the time, all scenarios, and was just there as a support as we knew what had to be done. Callie was a rescue and probably the best dog we have ever had - my sweet 'child.' Dr. Good was gentle and kind as he quietly helped us say goodbye. We have been to many vets throughout the years. I can honestly say that Dr. Good is one of very best. He made the heartbreaking process just that little bit less painful with his assurances and kind words. Thank you, Doc. Corky and Mark H.

Kyle Baker

We had an urgent situation that required us to take our pup Elvis in. We had such a pleasant experience that we never have at our regular vet. The doctor and techs (sorry, forgot the names) were so patient and made a scary situation much more pleasant. I even tried to ask if we could make them our regular vet! If i could give 6 stars I would!

Regina Aarstad

They were amazing. My dog got I to something dangerous and they stayed on the phone with me after hours.

Anita Schutt

Considering the circumstances for being there I couldn't have asked for a more thorough and kind bunch of people to take care of my little baby! They were friendly, considerate and very understanding! The doctor didn't try to push me an any way to let them do the surgery. She was very compassionate and helpful. I would choose them again if another emergency happens!

Rebecca Childress

They took such good care of my dog while there for a two night stay, due to illness. I know they loved on her, gave me multiple calls daily, and were always open to explaining what was going on to me.

Melissa Rollston

Our dog, Woden, was recently diagnosed with an arrhythmia after he collapsed while playing fetch. The emergency vet referred him to the cardiologist at Nashville Veterinary Specialists. We took him to his appointment last week and had a great experience. The front desk staff was pleasant, and the cardiology tech and Dr. Rodriguez were both great. They were kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Dr. Rodriguez explained everything in detail, and she gave us a very helpful written report as well. We were highly impressed with Nashville Veterinary Specialists!

I recently had to have an emergency surgery for my 6 month old pup, Reign-Supreme, for her broken arm. They were more than accommodating and very helpful as far as what was going on with her. They called and gave me updates throughout the process which was very helpful for my peace of mind. They can be a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, and its up to you to decide if your fur baby is worth it. Mine certainly was. Also remember that they are an emergency vet hospital that is open 24 hours and not many places offer that service in Middle Tennessee. I was referred by my native vet and I have no regrets. Thank you so much, Nashville Veterinary Specialists for accommodating my pet and repairing what I thought was a tragic injury.

hannah shrum

Absolutely amazing staff and made sure our sweet Opie was taken care of. Customer service is spectacular even got to tell our sweet boy goodnight and was able to check up any time we wanted!!

Tiffany Damle

We followed their recommendation and put our 7 year old boy through chemo. They gave him 6-8 months to live if we did the treatment, with a small chance for living out the rest of a normal lifespan. After 2 rounds of chemo, our boy became very, very ill and was admitted into their emergency care. He was misdiagnosed as having pneumonia for over a week. After several times telling them about his aching joints and inability to eat anything, they chalked it up to nausea from medication and soreness from being sick with pneumonia. After nearly two weeks of not eating and increased lameness and being told that maybe he had developed arthritis (despite us continuously telling them that it had just started during the sickness) they finally figured out that he had developed Immune Mediated Polyarthropy. We were told that his body was launching a misguided attack on his joints, but it could be controlled with heavy doses of prednisone. They told us we could take him home the next day. The next day, we showed up to take him home. He was very weak and had lost a lot of weight throughout this ordeal, but we were hopeful. We noticed that the bandage in his leg where they had taken the medicinal catheter out, was dripping blood. The vet tech rewrapped it, but it still seemed to be leaky . We also noticed drops of watery blood coming from his nose, which I mentioned to the doctor that evening. He looked at him and kind of laughed it off saying, he didnt know. Which we thought was a very weird response. I questioned him as to whether he had oxygen tubes in his nose or something else that may have caused it. And he just said, "no, I dont think its anything." That night when we got home, our boy had bled heavily though his bandage all over the car and into the house. When I tried to re-wrap it, the vein appeared totally open and freely flowing with blood like a faucet, not dripping, but rather spurting. We freaked out as there were literally puddles everywhere as we tried to get it to stop and bandaged it up. We called and they said it just needed to be on longer. All throughout the night, he continued to bleed through bandages. We rushed him back to emergency first thing in the morning. They told us that he now had DIC and his blood was no longer clotting. We opted for a plasma transfusion...and it did not work. We lost our beloved Ramses that night at the age of only 7 years old. He died on the very day that he would have had his 3rd round of chemo. 66 days after being diagnosed, 38 days under chemo, our boy was gone. When he passed away, instead of allowing us to walk out of the room remembering him the way he was, they came in and picked him up off of the couch and we could see that his bladder had released and there was fecal matter everywhere. They put him on the stretcher and left us. It seemed very insensitive to do that in front of us. We never heard another word from NVS for 2 weeks, until I called them to express.my disappointment. There were no phone calls, no card, no explanation from the doctor about what or why this had happened. Simply nothing. As soon as the money stopped, so too did the "caring". After I called and spoke to the administrator, we received a card a few days later. But, it was a little too late in our opinion. We feel as though our boy may have lived if he had not been misdiagnosed with pneumonia for the length of time that he was. Additionally, we were not taken seriously or listened to when we consistently kept trying to get them to hear us about the pain in his joints/lameness and also his inability to eat. Right up to the very end when we took him home and all the signs were there, the doctor didn't recognize the DIC with the blood in his nose and the bleeding bandage. We lost our child and at the end of the day, we feel as though they only saw it as a business. In total, we spent nearly $12,000 and our boy's cancer actually grew and spread into his lymph nodes with the chemo. It didn't help him, and we feel like it shortened what precious time we did have left.

Carla Ratton

These folks are the absolute best! We sadly have had to use their services during some of the hardest times in our lives (when we had to let pets go after 1 lost battle with cancer & our lab made it to 15 years before the was ready to go). Those are the hardest decisions we've ever had to make & the staff at NVS were so patient and understanding with all of my hesitations & insecurities. Also; My daughter's cat has some chronic condoms that need to be monitored. They take very good care ofa him and are really good about educating her regarding his conditions. All in all; they take good care of us and our fur-kids. You absolutely can not go wrong with the NVS team. - JMHO

Outstanding staff. 11/10 would recommend to a friend.

After being told we had to make a special trip for our cat, we were thankful how much information Dr. House was able to provide for us. Dr. House explained everything and was great. She followed up with a phone call just like she did and our vet received all documents fast! the only delay we had was when we were waiting to pick up our cat. The front staff told us to wait as they helped another person and when one was available, she had to be told twice where to take us.

Scott Shepard

The best experience I have ever had at a veterinary clinic! Staff were great and efficient. The pricing was reasonable as well

Teresa Hemphill

Last night we had a sick cockatoo and no emergency vet clinic had an Avian vet and every clinic refused to offer any aid, including Svian and Exotics center of Nashville. While driving to UT Knoxville, I thought she stopped breathing and I called this clinic and they offered to see her. When we arrived, Abby, was already gone. The tech came out and was going to take Abby back to be seen, I asked to use her stethoscope so that I could check for a heartbeat. She gave me her stethoscope and she was gone. I was distraught and just want this tech and clinic to know how much I appreciate the fact that at least you offered to give aid. I can tell you that if we or others that we know ever need emergency care, we will use your clinic. Thank you.

Jo Dee Wright

They took very good care of my 13 year old long-haired dachshund. He was having back issues and we thought that he might need surgery. Dr. Calfee was very cautious and decided he didn't need the surgery. He is improving daily and I'm grateful that the doctor took the time to observe him carefully and not push a procedure that our baby didn't need after all. Thank you!

Google User

The staff was very nice, but the wait was extremely long and they recommended a $3000 surgery instead of just putting a splint on a minor fracture in my dog's paw. They also recommended multiple x-rays despite there being no evidence of any other injuries and wanted to keep my dog overnight for 2 days at a rate of $250/night until they could perform surgery on Monday. I talked them into just a splint and only one x-ray, but the visit still cost over $500 and took 5 hours. When I went to my regular vet today to check it, she removed the old splint and replaced it for only $20.

I took both of my kittens, There yesterday. The doctor ,nurses and everyone was very kind And helpful. I would definitely recommend This place For good friendly Care for your animals.

Jared Book

Top notch care and caring for your pet. We had to bring our sick dog in for care and they were so thoughtful and warm. Every employee from Doctors to Techs are caring and warm. It was an end-of-life situation which was handled professionally and with the upmost respect for our dog and for us. I would recommend them for both emergency care and for routine and continuing care.

Dani Magallanes

First time at this facility. It was very confusing coming into the ER side of the facility, there three MSAs in the front desk and no one addressed us once we came in until about three minutes of waiting and pacing around the waiting area until someone acknowledged us. There was a long wait time both in the waiting area, and in the room. The Veterinarian and staff were friendly and knowledgeable, but the fort desk has to learn to better direct traffic and address patrons. Maybe also spend less time gossipping upfront and playing eye tag to see who's next to help the next customer.

Heidi Petree

We have been here a handful of times for the dermatology department. Our poor black lab had bad allergies where she picked up a bacterial AND staph infection and could barely walk and function in every day life. Dr Ackerman was incredibly thorough in her exams and testing and explaining everything. Never rushed and you could tell her and her whole staff treated you and your fur baby like their own. Her tech Mel goes above and beyond to make sure all questions are answered and responds to emails and phone calls promptly. I would HIGHLY recommend this office to anyone

Barbie Summers

Had to wait for a bit but other than that our Veterinarian Dr. Conner was super nice and very caring. Did not push unnecessary care on us. Made us feel a lot better about our furbaby’s problem. Would recommend and would go back if needed. Thank you Dr. Conner

Eric Givens

Stellar service. They treated my 2 year old Weimaraner better than our usual veterinary who has taken care of him since 10 weeks of age. Dr. Roach and all the staff we were in contact with were reassuring, thorough, and kept me up to date during our whole situation. The care they provided showed that they truly cared for our boy as if he was one of their own pets. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

Steve Dodge

A really good group of Dr’s and staff. Extremely competent, caring and very thorough. We brought our limping dog in to learn she had a spinal tumor and they didn’t gouge us for an mri. Their Vet Neurologist was able to diagnose her with their experience seeing this type of issue before and told us what to expect over next couple weeks. Unfortunately we had to bring her back about a week later to put her down. They handled that with class and so much support. Very reasonable costs too. You can trust this group.

Kimberly VanDusen

Very kind and knowledgeable staff. Provided me with very honest information, gave me as much time as I needed to process the information and then provided me with their opinion on what I should do when I asked for it.

Thomas Stevens

This clinic is outstanding and impressive in every way. I was visiting with Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice and was lucky enough to tour the clinic and meet some of the veterinary team. They were kind, professional and compassionate. #impressive #petsarefamily

Mary Margaret Lasiter

My Xolo dog stole 2 double chocolate cookies after a late night run to Wendy's. I was unable to make him vomit and took him to Nashville Vet Specialists in the wee hours of the morning. He was taken back immediately and was cared for. We both received professional and compassionate care from the veterinarian and vet techs. I will return when emergency care is needed.

Stephanie Covington

Very professional, very thorough and very empathetic. We appreciated their hospitality during our visit when we put our dog to sleep. I can't say thank you enough! God Bless you

Kenny Wayne

Thank you so much. We traveled quite a distance on Friday evening after being referred by our local Veterinarian because my dog had an acute illness. We were met with courteous staff and received prompt treatment. The doctors that tended to my precious little pet were knowledgeable, thorough, kind, and compassionate. They were so wonderful during the end of life care that my dear little fella deserved. They made a very hard situation as bearable as it could be. Thank you so much for being there for us!! We couldn’t have asked for better.

Jamie T

This place is a wonderful place for your animals. They were very thorough in their explanations about what was going on with our cat. They cared for him as much as possible. Our cat unfortunately was not able to get well from his condition and had to be put to sleep, but they really worked hard to make those last moments with him special. Our hearts were completely shattered to say goodbye to the first pet we had gotten after we had gotten married. It is a difficult thing to experience. They give you the time to cope and get through it. I know our ending was a sad one, but I can say they did everything a vet can do. I would definitely take my other cat to them in a heartbeat because I know they look out for the animals brought to them. Thank you to all of the staff members who work here for all that you do everyday.

Teresa

The veterinarian was great, the people at the front desk were great... The vet tech(third shift) WAS AWFUL... she was extremely judgemental and jumped to conclusions... I told her after bringing in my mother in law's cat(and talking to the vet) that we preferred to just bring him home. The vet had presented me with the option to bring him home instead of staying overnight, for a lower cost but not exactly a high chance of him not needing to come back in.... So after she gave me a run down of expensive overnight hospital treatment... I realized we that couldn't afford it... My mother in law has dementia and is declining in health... so have I told the vet I'll like to take the option where he came home, she immediately made faces at us and said "that would be inhumane!!!" In a dramatic voice, in an attempt to shame us... It's my mother law's last golden year's and she had to endure being shamed by an unprofessional stranger. You will never know how much my mother in law loved Vizzy... How he helped her though the loss of youngest her son... How she slept with him every night... He slept on his back and wanted to be tucked in with his head on her pillow... she cries nearly everyday with the pain and also the guilt that you put on her. SHAME ON YOU! CHECK WITH YOUR VET BEFORE YOU JUDGE PEOPLE AND STOP TO THINK, BEFORE YOU SPEAK.

Third time’s the charm. After visiting with two different vets this place was able to give our dog the proper diagnoses. They were nice, professional and we really appreciated their services!

Heather Kudrya

Over the weekend, our dog started limping and whining in pain. Of course our vet wasn't open and we wanted to make sure it wasn't anything serious. After looking online and reading reviews, we chose this emergency facility even though there were much closer options. I'm so glad we did. Dr. Good was able to rule out any fractures or abdominal issues quickly and gave us medication to help with pain and inflammation. He was extremely knowledgeable and all the staff were friendly and professional. I also really appreciated that they didn't do more testing than they felt was necessary. The price was extremely reasonable in my opinion, especially for a high quality emergency facility. I was very impressed and if we ever need another emergency visit for a pet, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

Mary Boyd

SIX STARS My dog was in need of euthanasia on short notice . The staff at NVS were incredible . Everyone involved was professional, skilled, kind, and gentle with both my animal and my family. Thank you to Doctor Smith and to Rebekah and to the two other staff members helping, whose names I don't know. The "goodbye " waiting area was perfect. The staff were so kind I cannot imagine a better environment for this difficult day.

Pat Curley

The doctor and staff were very caring. Our pup Bernie who had been with us for 17 years was very sick and had to be out to sleep. They even placed her little body in a casket so we could take her home and bury her. I would highly recommend them to anyone and they will definitely be out vet of choice in the future. It is my pleasure to recommend them. Pat Curley

Randy Anderson

My cat NOX broke his back leg in a terrible way. The wonderful staff managed to save the leg and brought joy back into our lives. They were gentle and kind at all times and made our terrible experience one that was livable. I highly recommend them in all things. The Follow-up calls and their post experience has been refreshing also. Thank you for help save our family member.

Kimberly Frost

Dr. Sparks and Dr. Clark took exceptional care of my Chihuahua Lily recently when she was seriously ill. Dr. Sparks seemed to immediately recognize the potential issue even before consulting with poison control. The lobby had some amenities you wouldn't typically expect and the place didn't have that funky smell that vet offices usually have. I've used the other emergency facility in Franklin before, but my experience at Veterinary Specialists was far better.

tgc

We were referred to the weekend ER by our vet's office, which was not open at 6:00 a.m. Everyone there was kind, courteous and knowledgeable. They gave great care to our dog, explained procedures, care and fee options, and helped us through the eventual demise of our beloved 11 year old dear companion late in the same day. Special thanks to Dr. Josh Good for his compassion and support.

Kristen Stark

Nashville Veterinary Specialists is a wonderful facility that truly cares about all the animals that pass through their place for much needed care. They have the best bed-side manner and truly love animals and care for the human owners as well. I thank them truly for helping me with several life and death situations involving my precious canines. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM and cannot understand why anyone would go to their competitor Blue Pearl for any reason. They are the best!

Barbara Stackhouse

The care and concern shown for our Luci was great. I appreciate them getting us in right away. Everyone was kind and compassionate. Thank you!!

Tammy Gabelmann

Thank you so much for everything you did to save my baby Max. We are so happy to have him home with us.

Bailey Davis

In spite of my reason for having to use their services, I couldn’t be happier with the service they provided and care that they gave my dog who suffered a severe broken leg. She was home 2 days later and we’ve had such caring doctors checking in and answering questions.

Rebecca Lynn

Our 13 year old dog has complex health issues. Dr. Sessions took the time to review all of the testing and explain exactly what was going on. He was very kind as he told us what was available that could be done and what realistically couldn't. For now, our sweet dog is on the medication Dr. Sessions prescribed and doing well. The care could not have been better.

Jessica Saballos

Great people. Excellent vet. Loved the entire environment and attitudes.

Kristyn Corder

We cannot say enough nice and appreciative things about this vet practice. The owner / surgeon is amazing and they really showed us and our pup Banana kindness at every single step of a stressful emergency situation. I would not hesitate to send anyone here. I will be back and will surely be sending friends their way. 10 out of 10 experience! Thank you guys!!

Tiffany Smith

We a had great experience. They took very great care of my family pet. There prices are a bit high.

Kathy Williams

The staff and Doctor were very helpful and supportive. We were there to say goodbye to our sweet dog of 14 years. It was time and they were so sympathetic to our needs. Thanks to all in our time of need.

Laurie Ward

NVS was very professional and took our doggo emergency very seriously. Although we did not receive good news, the staff were thoughtful and respectful of our questions and concerns. They let us know of all the options they had available and respected our decision when we made it.

Taylor Breland

We came in as a emergency referral from our usual vet when our jack Russell mix Tripp woke up on day 5 after being treated for a mild herniated disc, paralyzed in his back legs. We were immediately brought into a room and we had a treatment plan and consult within 30 minutes. We drove over an hour to see this vet. Our little guy is 4 and has had no health issues ever so we were devastated when something major like this happened. Dr. Smith, and Dr. House the neurologist who performed our pups emergency surgery to repair the ruptured discs in his back were absolutely amazing and so compassionate and empathetic to our family. I was a blubbering mess in this place and they were always attentive and so nice to us. Dr. House always gave us her professional opinions in situations but still maintained the level of compassion that we very much respect. Our dog is currently still being treated in their ICU, they gave us hope, and him a chance of having a normal life with a 50/50 prognosis of him walking again. His treatment was extremely expensive but they have been so kind and not pushy when it came to payment. 10/10 recommend this facility. We can’t wait to have our baby home with us again!

Cyndie Gainey

Waited 3 hours with a Yorkie that was bleeding blood due to a very large bladder stone/high fever and told they would have a specialist perform an a abdominal ultrasound. They didn't see our situation critical even though we were sent by our Vet as a serious situation. When we finally saw the doctor, they could not perform ultrasound. We walked out upset as we could have gone to Blue Prarl instead that day if they had told us correctly to begin with. Blue Pearl in Franklin did the ultrasound the next day. I will never go back!!

Stephanie Pirera

These guys were lifesavers when my pup got hurt. They were up front with pricing and let me know before performing any procedures, which I really appreciated, and they were kind and loving to my dog. I can't say enough good things.

todd smith

I love these people. They are wonderful caring people who are there for your pet like a people hospital. I am so thankful to have a place like this for my pets!

Victoria Rose Hasson

Staff was really personable and friendly, the doctor came to a diagnosis after examining my dog’s foot and prescribed him an antibiotic, steroid and topical cream. I felt like $95 for the exam and then another $100 for all prescriptions was a steep price but worth it knowing my pup was taken care of and I was able to walk in and be seen same day. I did wait several hours in a room after initially being checked in- which I’m totally fine with- it was a Sunday and Father’s Day so I’m sure they might have been short staffed but some sort of communication would have been helpful as I wondered if I had been forgotten about.

golden hand

The team at NVS took great care of my puppy. I would highly recommend this kind and courteous staff for all your veterinary needs.

Ann Davis

Referred to Nashville Veterinary Specialist by my vet for my dog to have an echocardiogram test for her heart murmur. Dr. Rodriguez was excellent & I appreciated & understood the explanation of results. All was done in under an hour & the costs was provided up front. My dog can often be uncooperative but was very comfortable with Dr. Rodriguez & Dr. Streppa so sedation was not necessary. I could tell that Tilly really liked them & she even gave kisses during physical examination. I let them know that she has back issues & they handled her with care. That really minimized my stress, I am very appreciative and grateful for their expertise & empathy. I will do follow up with them in 6 months.

Chris Crenshaw

Our Beagle ate a box of Christmas chocolates and they were able to see her stat even though the emergency room was busy. They kept her overnight to monitor her heart rate and released her the next morning. They provided an estimate of the expected costs so we knew what to expect. Costs were less than expected. We were able to pay with Care Credit which helped with this unexpected expense during Christmas.

Kathleen Bailey

Staff was great. Really tried to diagnosis cats problem. For me I felt it was a bit pricey even for an emergency situation. Being unable to be in the room with my cat was uncomfortable for me but that's me. Yes I will recommend them and use them myself when again there's a reason.

Michelle Nicholson

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had!! Dr. Thomas sent me to you and your team of doctors didn't seem to think my cat was in critical condition. The intern did blood work, an Echocardiogram and sent us home to be euthanized for a total of $1200. When Dr. Goen got wind of this she was embarrassed for the referral and lack of treatment, which he definitely needed an MRI but due to your Neurologists team not working late or coming in on Friday I was denied, just suppose to wait till Monday. I took Thai home still hoping he could be saved or the very least he might get better on his own but Dr. Goen reached out to me and had me come and get blood thinners for possible stroke. This was a month ago and a slow recovery but recovery nonetheless with NO help from you. Who needs an MRI for thousands of dollars when I've got Dr. Goen on my side and Thai's!! Also I feel I should be reimbursed for at least half of my bill. Please feel free to show this post in its entirety to Dr. Calfee.

Pam Thompson

I was in the area for the holidays and did not expect to need a vet - especially on New Year's Day. Incredibly friendly staff, great bed-side manner by Dr. Smith, quick and accurate treatment for my dog, and at a low price. I expected to pay an arm and a leg for emergency vet services on a holiday, but was pleasantly surprised. I hope I don't have another doggy emergency the next time I am in the Nashville area, but if I do, I know where to go. A few days later and my girl is doing great! Thank you, Nashville Veterinary Specialists!

Abby Gibson

We had to go to the emergency vet last night due to pain in my dogs back with movement. They didn’t rush to do a bunch of imaging that would have cost thousands, but gave us medication that would make him comfortable until our primary vet was able to see us. They did a thorough assessment and were able to give us the diagnosis and we are able to help our boy be more comfortable. Thank you for being so kind, compassionate, and appropriately reserved with treatment, we appreciate you!

Patti Yon

When you have a sick dog on a weekend you want to know that there is a clinic that will take care of your pet. On this past Saturday, this Emergency Clinic did just that. Everyone was very kind, took time to answer all of our questions after telling us the options. Nashville is blessed to have the Veterinary Specialists and Animal Emergency Clinic. I am happy to say that our Caesar is doing very well since our visit on Saturday!

Mark Musgrove

I am sorry to say that due to the stress of the situation, I do not remember the name of the DVM that helped our family the night we came in but i will NEVER forget the level of empathetic caring and concern that was extended to us in our time of crisis. They answered all of our concerns with honesty no matter how difficult the question. Their actions transcended normal customer service into a feeling of being helped by family. I am eternally grateful to your entire staff and will forever recommend your office to everyone I know. Thank you so much for all you did for us.

Jessica Shove

Very disappointed in our experience! Would not advise someone to come here. The staff informed us that we did not receive our discharged animal, who was dying and we just wanted to get home and comfortable, was not “important” enough to go back to get him for us while other cases were being taken care of. We spent over two hours here for only an exam and a single prescription. The doctor was kind and understanding of our decisions but the receptionist/front desk staff ruined the experience.

Jessica Marsh

Amazing! Staff and doctors are so nice!

William Steele

I have nothing but great things to say about the staff... I had to make a difficult decision today about my cat Etta James. They where loving and kind even though my Etta had to be put to sleep I know her last few days with the staff here she got all the love and attention any cat ever needed... I will miss my little girl but I would also like to thank Dr Sessions and all his staff they even shed some tears with me.....

none known

Hard to find 1st time +parking is limited at busy times. They do good work. They could improve on relating to the animals +communication w owners imho but they keep up their professional skills. They don't seem to have consistency imo in staff skills. I noticed a vast difference in tech knowledge + ability to relate to the animals. Would go back if necessary but would go to Auburn for Specialists.

David Ayes

I highly recommend NVS their staff and Doctors were amazing and support us during an Emergency visit Sadly our puppy couldn't make it, and we had to let her go, but with NVS staff help our grief and lost was difficult but found the kindness and love we need in such hard time for my daughter and me Thank you NVS for taking care of our baby Canela during her last moments with us

Anne Dansie

Prompt treatment for my sweet and very sick dog. He was immediately whisked away to the back to be examined by a vet while a tech stayed and asked me questions. All the staff was compassionate and caring, they gave me options and were never pushy. In my short interactions with some of the staff I know that they had a genuine compassion for my boy. Which eased my mind as I left him there for treatment. The vet called me throughout the day and night to keep me updated and informed. Despite the sad outcome, I know that I took him to the most knowledgeable and compassionate center in Nashville and I have absolutely no regrets about that decision. The facilities were clean and the prices were very fair.

jill sullivan

Dr Vancil gave us more quality months with our beloved dog Joy. Though we stopped the treatments in mid July, Joy is still with us, though her time is drawing shorter. Thank you for facilitating this special gift for our family. We have loved these extra months with Joy who benefited from a good quality of life even with the lymphoma. We believe she has enjoyed this time too. Joy passed on 12/26. We got 5 months with her and got another Christmas and then she let go and we knew to euthanize. Our extra time was priceless.

Dena Markham

I would like to complete this review when we are able to leave for good, but I can't wait. Currently, they have a cat of mine that is very sick and in their care. We visit her every day for 2-3 hours. They ENCOURAGE visit! They facility is great for animals. Just like a people hospital. Excellent all the way around.

Joseph Fuisz

Unpleasant experience with front desk / check in. Try blue pearl instead- much faster and more pleasant.

Sandra Gonzalez

We came there around midnight about 2 weeks ago with my cat Zues because he was peeing blood and wasnt himself didnt knot what was wrong took them a while to get us into a room they took us back into a room and they came in and asked what was going on and then said the doctor will be in shortly.. We were waiting for almost 2 hours you can just see he was getting worse. After waiting 2 hours they came in and said itlll be another hour to see him. They didnt check to see if he was critical nothing.. So we left and went to bluepearl they took him in as soon as we walked in and they said he was blocked and it was critical. We ended up putting him down due to him not being seen right away. Sidco was just wayy to busy.

Carolina Lopez

I have taken my fur baby do them twice for different reasons and they’ve always done an amazing job. They are experienced and care about your pet.

Adam Kuhn

I’ve had great experiences in the past with Nashville Vet; expensive, but great. However I’ve called multiple times today to schedule a visit for the same symptoms and have been treated extremely rudely both times. I passed off the interaction this morning as that person at least explained that they were experiencing and emergency at that time. Completely understand, I’ll call back. I just hung up from trying again (hours later) and can say that I’ve never been dismissed or treated so callously when dealing with a vet in my life. If you have an emergency then I’m sure they are more than capable, but if you need extended and/or diagnostic care then you may want to look elsewhere.

lydie mora

They were so wonderful with my Bella. They made me feel at ease that she would be good. Thank you so much.

leah hoefling

I was sooo impressed with this vet office. We took our pup here late on a Sunday night and they were very well organized and kind. The office is super clean, modern, and accommodating. They also focus on green/ environmentally friendly cleaning and energy, which was an awesome bonus. I would recommend this emergency vet to anyone.

Christine May

They took great care of my fur-baby and were so gentle and patient with her. And honestly, the cost was not bad at all considering everything they did and that they are open 24 hours. They are definitely the only place I'd ever take my pets for an emergency ever again.

Lindsey Horner

We had to go here not once but 3 times for our sweet dog Tanner. The first 2 times were related to him ingesting charcoal and he was taken care of amazingly both times and he got better quickly. Sadly our last time there was Tanner's last day. He had unbeknownst to us developed a cancerous tumor that ruptured at home. We brought him in when we realized something was wrong. They took him back right away and decided that after an Xray they needed to do more tests to see what the issue was. After some time with him, they kindly explained what the next steps were and what his prognosis was which wasn't good. After much talk, we opted it was in his best interest to to have him put to sleep. Every step they were so caring and loving with not only him but us as well. They understood our overwhelming grief and explained everything again and gave him plenty of kisses and pets. It was the worst day of our life and the doctor and nurse were so patient with us. I'll never forget how personal they were with us and Tanner. We thank you all for your kindness and giving Tanner a peaceful departure.

Leslie Erwin

We drove our Lab from Memphis to Nashville to receive emergency care on the advice of our vet. We could not have made a better decision. The care, concern and compassion they showed us was wondeful ! Our Lab ended up having to have an MRI and has fluid on his brain. We are home now and pray his symptons subside and we can continue to live and enjoy his company. Thanks to all for the wonderful care !!! From the Erwin's and mostly from out Jet

Laura Polhill

Wasn’t sure what was going on with my cat. But I knew something was very wrong and I was worried. I just moved to Nashville 2 1/2 weeks and I needed help FAST. I have to say I was very happy that found out what was wrong and they helped my kitty. She was a sick little girl. Thank goodness she’s feeling so much better now.

Cindy Hart

Our vet referred us to Nashville Veterinary Specialists. They saw us almost immediately with not much of a wait. The tech and vet we met with were very good at explaining everything in detail regarding our dogs medical situation and their treatment plan. We thought they took all the appropriate measures to diagnose and treat our little dog. He came home and has recovered nicely. We would bring our dog there again if he needed specialized medical treatment.

Karen Flynn

Took care of my poodle from out of state....love you guys..the poodle is buddy and he came in with pancreatitis. You took such good care of him. Under a different name since I have gotten married and on our honeymoon when this happened

Kelly Jernigan

It's difficult to write a "good" review when the only reason you visited was for a heartbreaking experience but I truly can't say enough good things about the staff at NVS. It was a very difficult evening for me but Dr. Cason made the decision and the process as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend NVS to anyone in need of animal care.

Emily Patterson

They were great! We had to wait a little bit but it was much shorter than the time quoted to us so that was nice, understandable too because it was very busy. Everyone we interacted with was very thorough and they got our sweet pup all fixed up!

Bobby Hamrick

My 11 month old puppy was having some unusual facial swelling and I brought her in on a Saturday. The staff here could not have been nicer or more helpful. Dr Wabi was amazing with my dog and thoughtful in diagnosing the problem. Highly recommend. Thanks!

Emmy Singer

NVS is absolutely wonderful! Our little pup had to have emergency spinal surgery and the care and love he received was incredible. We never doubted he was in great hands. All of our options, the entire process and any questions we had were clearly explained to us with time and intention. We were kept up to date on everything and were personally sent video updates of our little guy's progress. The team of doctors and nurses were always kind and they set us up with everything we needed to have a successful recovery at home. We are forever grateful for everything they have done for our fur baby and can't recommend them enough!

Heather Eby

They were wonderful, patient and understanding. Took their time and were able to explain what was going on with Romeo in terms that I could understand. It’s amazing what you all do. And it is greatly appreciated, which I’m sure you don’t hear enough of the good. Thank you again.

Kanesha Patterson

I loves their service and care for my puppy. They were sure to provide information for care after the check in. Thank you for your great service and care.

Andrea Muhammad

They real good care of my baby, got him back to in good shape I recommend them highly!!

Masha Hunt

This was the third emergency vet place I went to and I regret not going there first.the staff was super nice and updated me with news either right when they sail or earlier. the doctors spoke to me in a way that I understood and not in the vet jargon that I had gotten at other places which put me at ease in a very stressful time. they were also understanding with my budget and very fairly priced. the value is exceptional!! awesome job thank you for taking such great care of my Ollie!!

Haley Maguire

My dog ate something he shouldn’t have at 9pm on week night and NVS was incredible! They were able to see him immediately and we were in and out in 45 minutes with peace of mind. Pricing was reasonable as well. Thank you!

Melissa Hoeppner

Nashville Veterinary Specialists saved my 10 year old beagle's life. I took him in on a Sunday after the had been suffering what was diagnosed as "kidney failure." He couldn't walk, eat, drink, couldn't settle - I knew he was at the end if he didn't get help. In my mind, I wasn't sure there was anything they could do because the former vet diagnosed this as stage 3 kidney failure.....but we were flushing his kidneys at home with an IV and it wasn't helping. LONG STORY SHORT - they took immediate action, ran their own tests and concluded he was in a crisis caused by Addison's Disease......NOT KIDNEY FAILURE. After a critical 48 hours, Winston was released back to us. He is now thriving 6 months later on monthly injections that keep him alive. He has no signs of kidney failure. We are immensely grateful and owe everything to them. 100 million stars <3

Hannah Smith

This place is wonderful. They took such great care of my puppy, Olive, when her spay site became infected. Everyone was so kind and genuinely cared so much (even at 4 am!). So thankful to know there's such a wonderful 24/hr vet nearby.

Melissa Lazusky

This practice provided the best experience I could have imagined. We took our cat Padme in on a Sunday night, we found out she was extremely sick and we chose to put her down, but the doctor and staff was so caring and empathetic. They gave us plenty of time and didn't push our decision. Unexpectedly, a week later we received a mold of our cat's paw, and it was the most touching thing. I can't thank this practice enough for their kindness, professionalism, and for how personable they are.

Kevin Conklin

This animal hospital/ER is just fantastic. We had a parvo scare with our 10 week old puppy, and their service was extremely timely, compassionate, and explanatory. I left the ER confident that my puppy would make a full recovery, and completely understanding everything that may have happened and what treatment at home would look like. The ability to bring your pet here 24/7 is such a relief, and the location was clean, welcoming, and everyone I interacted with was extremely professional and kind. Least of all my concerns, the cost for treatment was not too much more than I would have paid at my normal vet during standard operating hours, which was a huge relief. Thank you everyone at Nashville Veterinary Specialists for the work you do!

Glenn Sengstack

I had a very sick dog on a Saturday morning and they took excellent care of him. They were able to diagnose him and administer meds and send me home with prescriptions to continue his treatment. I followed up with my regular veterinarian a few days later and they said that the quick interaction probably saved my dog's life.

shelley hughes

Would love to give this hospital a better rating. Staff were nice, dr was thorough and compassionate. My teacup dog had lost 1/8 her normal body and was diagnosed with dehydration along with colitis. 3 hrs later my dog still had yet to receive any treatment. She was becoming more lethargic. If I would have not come in, I could have at least given her some po fluids and not made the dehydration worse by delaying care. I think the plan of care was good IF we actually got that care without having to get upset

Nanette Musgrove

Unfortunately had to rush my pup to Nashville Veterinary Specialists last Wednesday morning as he was having seizures. I felt he was in good hands and really like the vet that took the time to explain different types of seizures to me and what to watch for.

Angelia Conner

Not animal lovers at all. My fur baby in critical condition and they immediately discharged her and she has life and death situations going on. But by the grace of God I found a veterinarian that stands by their profession and us treating my baby. God always gas a ram in the bush.

erica bull

We had a great experience with NVS. We were seen in a relatively timely manner, but most of all, we were not charged an arm and a leg for services.

Martina Brienza-Ramos

The staff was caring and compassionate and truly helped me feel better in a time of crisis.

Gail Minner

I highly recommend NVS for veterinary emergencies. Their caring staff and professional expertise is outstanding. Communication was excellent with provider and staff. A special thank you to Dr. Travis, Dr. Long and Sydney along with other staff members for the loving care to our baby girl. We will always have a special place in our hearts for NVS. Bless you

Lesley Bowington

My appointment was with Dr. O'Neill with Nashville Veterinary Dermatology, who works out of the NVS office. I was very pleased with the speed with which I was able to obtain an appointment, and my visit went very smoothly. All the staff (Dr. O'Neill's and NVS's receptionists) were great as well. Cost wise, they are a specialty facility so expect to pay a little more than your regular veterinarian, but over all it was reasonable for the treatment I was able to obtain for my pet.

regina blassingame

Excellent care. We were seen quickly and they provided excellent care during an emergency situation. Would definitely use them again.

Betsey Sullivan

I brought my 7 pound terrier puppy and on Sunday at around noon. She had been attacked by a Rottweiler mix and was a mangled mess. They took her back immediately and gave her pain medication. However they didn’t do the procedure on her until late. I finally picked her up almost 12 hours later. They apologized for the long wait for her but said they had a lot of dying dogs that took precedence over her.

Colyn Ryum

I brought my dog in on a Saturday night with a few people waiting in the lobby. I had to carry her in since she couldn’t walk. When they noticed that, the ladies up front knew it wasn’t good so she called one of the vet techs and they took her right back. I filled out a personal information form and right away had me in a patient room all less than 5 minutes of me walking in. Unfortunately my dog didnt make it but the whole process was quick and very professional people. It’s pretty expensive but when it’s your baby you don’t care. Thank you Dr. Long and Dr. Good and the vet techs for everything you did.

Amber

Our local veterinarian recommended NVS to us during a critical time in our fur child's life. We could not have asked for more of a professional, caring, and understanding experience from the moment we arrived to when we had to say goodbye to our little guy. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for your thorough communication and empathy. We will treasure our experience for a lifetime.

Cindy L

We were there last night with Snow Angel and just wanted to say how wonderful Dr Fraser and her team were. Unfortunately, our baby gal did not make it and that was not something the Vet could have done to make it a miracle. We felt assured and could feel Dr Fraser's genuine empathy for our situation and also for our little gal. We just wanted to reach out and say how thankful we are for all that you guys did last night. Even though you must have seen so many patients through the day, each and every one that we spoke to, be it the receptionist, assistant and of course, Dr Fraser were wonderfully professional and respectful that we were feeling sad. If your little fur kid were ever in trouble, please please just head there straight away. You will be in good hands. I also wanted to thank the other reviewers for writing their reviews cos' it is through reading your reviews that we decided to head there instead of going to Blue Pearl which was super expensive! If you are worried about the cost, call them and ask them for an estimate but do be patient. I have seen a hero receptionist working relentlessly by herself at 1am in the morning trying to answer calls, handle walk-ins and registration. Kudos to the team again. We will miss our baby gal, Snow Angel but we like to think she is now free of pain and being a real Angel like she was meant to be.

Stephanie Rivero

They got my cat's allergies under control. I wish we could've figured out what is causing his symptoms. He is happy now though.

Dustin Young

They were very prompt and so sweet to my pup. Dr. Stevens emailed me the most comprehensive overview of his evaluation that I've ever received. She were extremely thorough to say the least. She is getting to the source of a year-long problem and her recommended course of treatment is quickly making him better. Thank you all so much

Sylvia Salomon

We brought our 11.5 yr old pup in thru their emergency room. Our dog had previously been diagnosed with tongue cancer. We didn’t feel like we had many options with our vet, so we came to NVS on outside recommendations. The oncologist there worked us in to his schedule that day and after discussing a few options, we decided to start chemo. THAT DAY! Not sure what the long term prognosis will be, but for now, we feel like something is being done that could help. On,y disappointment is that no one has called us to check on her since being there. It’s been over 1 week.

Patricia Larsen

I was in Tennessee for work, & my dog became very ill. They took great care of him, & he is doing wonderful. They were very thorough and gave me options so that I did not spend tons of money to help him get better. If I lived closer I would use them for a vet.

J'Lyn Jefferson

If I could give yall no stars I promise you I would. Yall conned me out of my money and took advantage of my situation. Tried to get me to surrender her and do what? Put her down? No thank you! I invested close to $1,000.00 into getting her surgery. How do I go from one woman telling me i have $1163.00 to go just to get another call saying i still owe $2000 to start? I SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF THE MONEY WAS GOING TOWARDS THE DEPOSIT AND WAS TOLD YES! So after telling you i can't afford anymore and were not making progress and pick her up to take her well out of my way y'all send animal care to my home for a welfare check. Why didn't you call yourself!! And i clearly told you I took her elsewhere. By the way.... another dog named Rosie was hit and broke her arm. While watching how they examined my dog they allowed this other dog to bite at her broken arm. They wouldn't have done anything if I didnt say anything about it. That's why they dont want you back there. Why allow that? To increase the payment the owner would have to pay? If you need immediate help do not go here unless your as they say "high clientele". Shame on you. You could've worked out a payment plan, or did it and sued me if I didnt pay like a regular office but no. I bet y'all put more pets down and turn help away than do what you can to save them smh. DO. NOT. GO. HERE! Unless your high clientele and can dish out $5000.00 on spot to save your loved one.

Tara Gibson

Staff was so nice and pleasant to talk to. I loved how detailed they were and what to expect. One of the nurses would call every mid morning on how your pet was doing and your vet would give you more planned treatments and what to expect every afternoon. It was a very great experience

John Richards

FAILURE TO LAUNCH!! GO ELSEWHERE!! On July 17th we took our cat in for a follow-up after having a (determined cancerous) tumor removed. We were told that VNS had been sent our information and to expect a call from them. A week went by - NOTHING. We went in for another follow up - our vet was shocked and called them again. Another non-response. Out of frustration i called and made an appointment - Nothing available for another week and a half. The girl I finally spoke with was overwhelmed with work and indifferent. In the mean time, I found another local veterinary oncologist (BLUE PEARL) made the appointment and went a within a couple of days. I called this morning to cancel the appointment with Nashville Veterinary Specialist at 8:00 - and was hung up on. I called back and cancelled. When dealing with a loved pet that has aggressive cancer, TIME is EVERYTHING. Nashville Vet Specialist could have the absolute best oncologist in 5 states, but if the infrastructure and processes are not in place to support him and he is not available for the better part of two weeks - he might was well be on the moon. There is nothing in this world short of a cure - yes for cancer - at this point that I would accept as an adequate apology. The veterinary oncologist may be brilliant, but the support surrounding him is worthless in my opinion. Blue Pearl came through with expediency and appropriate compassion! I'll be talking with my vet to share my experience. But honestly - if you give this place a chance, be vigilant about timing and responses. ______________________________________ 8/15/19 To NVS credit, they made good on having a respectable conversation with me. In speaking with the Administrator and the Experience Manager, they were prepared in that my appointment history had been reviewed, they knew my pet's name without me telling them, and they acknowledged scheduling difficulties and room for improvement. I was very blunt in sharing that if they are overbooked, in the interest of their patients and not their revenue, they should redirect to other organization(s). My rating and comments stand.

Angellica Scott

Very caring staff. They took their time. I did not feel rushed at all. As difficult as it was to have this procedure done to our beloved pet, they showed a lot of compassion.

Alexandra Koulianos

Quick and sincere service. I found Nashville veterinary specialist after my kitten had been bitten by a recluse, being after hours I called our primary vet knowing their answering machine had the number to a 24-hour facility they recommended nearby. Moments after arriving they came to get rocket, brought him back for observation and testing and had me wait in a private room (I was a mess) to complete the needed paperwork and wait. No longer than an hour after had passed before someone came to update me, I was able to make arrangements for treatment overnight before having him transported to our primary vet. Yes pricey, but not terrible considering its 24-hour emergency care, from compassionate people.

Talina Bracy

What an amazing staff! Although I had to let my sweet Pepper (cat) go , the staff made everything so easy . They were so sweet and kind and understanding. I've never received such amazing customer service in my life . Thank you all for helping me through the process.

Matt Mendenhall

These people were fantastic with me when I brought my thirteen-year-old Basset Hound in and had to put her to sleep they are great highly recommend this place I don't do reviews for anyting but I took my time out to do a review for these people miss my baby Daisy

Danielle F.

Nashville Vet Specialists and Animal Emergency were there for us on a Sunday evening when our diabetic cat had what we thought was a miniature stroke. They took her in promptly with little wait time, were great communicators, very respectful and patient with our stress level, and they helped nurse her back to health. She stayed overnight here and they were great about keeping us updated and returning our calls in a timely fashion. In addition to the excellent care they gave our cat, their facilities were very clean and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The extensions of their staff -vet techs & receptionists- were all extremely kind as well.

Nicole Payne

I'll start by saying the team here saved my dog Rupert's life. There are no words to describe my incredible appreciation to this place. All of the staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and empathetic. The staff and doctors treated us like family. The doctors have their own dogs on the donor list, so when my dog needed a transfusion in the middle of the night, Dr. Frazier and her dog, Luke, saved the day. They were so kind when I was constantly calling for updates and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. Is it cheap, no, but is it expensive, no. This is the best care your pet can receive, so in my opinion it's priceless. Thank you to this amazing facility. Don't have any hesitations about this hospital for your loved animal.

christyn jonas

First off the staff here is absolutely amazing. Everyone who works at the front desk was unbelievably sweet and helpful. This was my first time ever having a pet go through surgery and they made me feel at ease and didn’t seem bothered at how many times I called to check in on him! (Sorry guys!) Second of all Dr. Roach was so helpful and amazing and fixed up my little fur baby. He called me before the surgery to discuss options and immediately after the surgery to go over everything. Also came in to introduce himself and go over everything he did during the surgery and xrays. I am AMAZED with this place and how absolutely professional and sweet they are! Thank you all for making this horrible situation as good as it could be for us.

Shannon M.

We would highly recommend this veterinary office. Our older dog became very I'll. They were so kind to him. They were able to get him feeling well enough to come home for a couple days with us. Sadly, it was his time to go and they were so compassionate when it came to making the hardest decision. We were able to be present during the process and they were just so truly kind to us. They even have a very comforting room set up with a couch and rocking chair to spend time with your pet beforehand. It was very nice. Do not hesitate to use this vet. The doctors and staff are all so nice. Also, for emergency care I didn't think they were terribly expensive. We moved from IL and easily would've paid 3x what we paid. We appreciate this because the financial part of it all is stressful too. Thanks to the doctors and staff who took care of our sweet baby boy and did all they could for him. Keep up the compassionate care you provide.

My little yorkie’s leg was broken. My regular vet sent me here. They were the best at keeping me informed. When I called they let me know how he was doing and everything was good. I was worried because he had heart problems but he done fantastic. With the plate and screws that was put in his little leg you can hardly see the scar. They hide nothing from you, they tell you upfront the cost and everything. I hope to never have to go back but if something happens to my fur babies that my vet can’t take care of then that’s where I will be. They are awesome

Yes! I was referred to NVS from my vet but was nervous, after a glowing recommendation from my friend I was more at ease and she was right. This place is great. Staff is friendly, informative, and mostly sensitive to you and your pets needs. I didn't feel rushed or like I was just a number in the waiting room. They treated me and my pup with respect and did their very best to help us. Thank you NVS!

So far I am pleased we used Nashville Veterinary Specialist. My dog stopped walking on his back legs and I rushed him there. The whole process of getting him diagnosed and surgery was easy. I was a mess, but they took time to explain all the options and answer my concerns. Hopefully my dog will be back to walking soon

I don't know where to start. I had an emergency with my cat earlier this year. Found out it was terminal cancer. NVS helped me guide her down the Rainbow Bridge with dignity a few weeks later. Tonight the family dog needed to go down the same path. These people are indescribably compassionate and kind. Every person I had contact with cared and was filled with empathy. The DVM that administered the medication cried with us and I will never forget that. I can't say enough to truly convey how I feel about these folks. Truly wonderful.

The professionals at Nashville Vet Specialists helped Heidi and our family through a very tough time. Without their compassion I don't know we could have gotten through it. Thank you so much.

The doctor was very knowledgeable and very thorough with my dog. She was also very kind and compassionate.

They not only saved our best friends life they have put bingo on a road to recovery . My wife and I thought we had lost him but it’s looking better every day

Can not say enough good things about this vet. The staff went above and beyond to make our dog comfortable. When our dog chose to walk with our vet tech instead of me or my husband, I knew she was in good hands.

NVS took very good care of our Maggie. She went in as an emergency patient. She had surgery and is now recovering. Great staff and Doctors.

Most of the back staff and surgeon were beyond professional and kind during our disheartening experience of our yorkie breaking his foot. However, the front desk lady Tamera was beyond rude to me and my children. I was up against the wall waiting for my puppy with plenty of room for any emergencies or people walking through. ( Regardless there was no one walking through or needing through ) This woman targeted me on several occasions to move, after waiting and trying to pretend she had not ignored the fact we waited for a good 20 minutes for her to answer phone calls versus speak to myself or my husband. Finally another woman helped check us out and get our baby back. This woman made a traumatic situation even worse. Horrible service experience because of this woman.

This place and the people that work here are wonderful! We had such a scary experience when our down got sick. We took him to our regualar vet and she could not figure out what was wrong with him. When he took a turn for the worse we went to the ER at Nashville Vet Specialists. They figured the problem out in the same day he was admitted. I felt good about leaving my dog in their care over night. And I knew they were going to get him healed. The facility was very clean and welcoming. All of the staff we worked with were very helpful and kind. This will most definately our first place to go if another issue would ever come up again.

Everyone was very attentive and caring!

Not a good experience. I feel like they took advantage of a family member during a time of weakness and she ended up with a $4,000 bill (money she desperately needed) and a 12 year dog that had to be put down.

The staff at Nashville Veterinary Specialists took great care of my 11 month old dog, Oscar. He came in as a late night emergency and had to stay in the ICU for almost a full week. His case was strange, and we still don't know what caused it, but Nashville Veterinary did everything they could including several neurological consultations, CAT scans, and trying out every course of treatment until he started to improve. It was incredibly expensive, but if you consider what they actually did for him, all of the charges were reasonable. I also really appreciate that they took so much time to walk us through the costs, update us as to where we stood on the invoice, and present options for us to choose from based on our financial situation. Their invoices were detailed and I was happy to pay what I needed to to get Oscar back to being a healthy puppy. I really can't sing their praises enough. I was a total mess, sobbing all over the place, and they were always patient and kind. They even let us visit Oscar in the ICU when it seemed like he was in too much pain to be moved. We're so lucky to have an option like this in Nashville, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring my other pets here. My only regret was not bringing Oscar in earlier.

Nashville Veterinary Specialist are once of a kind. Last Sunday my dog was not well. His stomach was swollen, and he was throwing up. As soon as I arrived they took Gizmo to the back to make sure he was stabile. That made me feel relieved that there wasn’t a delay in his care. They were very informative and compassionate through the entire visit. The doctor also explained thing in terms I understood. Best of all the price was very reasonable. I’m used to emergency clinics charging way above what a normal vet clinic would, that wasn’t the case here. Would recommend to anyone.
