We took our cat Keeter in to MAH for his first visit. He needed vaccinations and a general checkup. We found the office staff and techs to be friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor himself was very thorough, answered all of our questions and handled Keeter with care. Our overall experience was very positive. We will be going back next week to bring our other cat. I am confident that we will have another great experience then. I would recommend this veterinary office to family and friends!

The bill wasnt to high but also wasn't low. So i cant say 5 stars the vet that gets 5 stars is the one that dosent break you and there is no such thing..

We hit a home run with this place. Daughters Guniea Pig wasn't eating and lost weight and was basically on its way out. We see the vet and after a ridiculously thorough check up he prescribes two medicines and a specialized food and provides clear directions on how to force feed each. The visit price was $160 which I thought was very fair. We go home and feed the GP and after 3 days we notice the GP strength is coming back cause he is fighting the intake of medicine and food. Within a week the GP is eating normally and is his cheerful self. During this time the Vet called up 3 times to follow up on the condition of the GP. I am positive I never received a follow up call from any doctor in my life. Really really great place.

I cannot say enough good things about Middletown Animal Hospital! The thing I didn't like about my old animal hospital, and the reason why I switched all of my animals over to Middletown, was every time I would find a doctor that I liked and tried to develop a relationship with them they would leave the practice. I felt like I was always stuck at square one introducing myself and my pets to new doctors and vet techs. Going to Middletown is like a night and day experience! You and your pets are always treated like family. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeble from the front desk, to the vet techs, to the doctors.The doctors and techs are always very clear and honest about what they're doing and giving you all of the information. You never feel like they're just running random tests or giving unnecessary vaccines just to run up your bill. During your appointment they spend time with you, ask questions, listen to your stories, share their own stories; you never feel like you're being rushed in or out of your appointment. They really take the time to get to know you and your animals and make sure you are comfortable and happy with the care you're getting. The front desk is great about sending reminders when its time to make an appointment and I've never had trouble getting in quickly for an appointment. They send me happy birthday emails with coupons for all of my animals on their birthdays and a thank you note after you visit them. It may seem like such small things but those personal touches are just part of what makes Middletown feel like family. If you're looking for a friendly and loving envirnment with a small staff where everyone will love your pets as much as you do then Middletown is the place to go!

I was recommended to the hospital but had a less than desirable experience. The vet techs were not experienced and did not know how to handle my male cat. They added much more stress to the visit than was required. The doctor was condescending when I asked him questions, which was uncomfortable. Overall, not the worst, but also not the best visit. I have found another Animal Hospital to bring my pets.

GREAT ANIMAL HOSPITAL!! I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE WHO HAS A PET, BUT ESPECIALLY "EXOTICS" CARING STAFF/DR'S, CLEAN WAITING ROOM, CLEAN EXAMINATION ROOMS, THE WAITING ROOM SEEMS TO NEVER HAVE MORE THAN 2 ANIMALS AT A TIME. PRICES ARE GREAT!! I got a ferret, Buddy, back in 2016. I always get my animals vaccinated, but ferret vaccines aren't in every vet. I called like 15 vets before I found 1 that could treat a ferret. B/c my ferret was a baby, he had to receive a vaccine 1x every couple weeks until he had received 3. The 1st time,I paid for a full exam & the 2 vaccines, but the 2nd & 3rd shots, I only had to pay for the vaccines. After that, he only has to get vaccinated 1x a year. The vet was very knowledgeable on ferrets, which I haven't seen in other vets before (I had a ferret back in 2001). He knew exactly how to treat Buddy. Even recommend what kibble to get for him (the ferret food that pet stores carry isn't good for ferrets as they are STRICT carnivores) I got another ferret, (Harley Quinn) in November of the same year & took her here too. Same thing, 3 shots & the bill was the same as Buddy's. Rescued a 3rd ferret in June 2017.... Same thing. I had made an appt for Harley & Buddy in January of this year. Harley was due for her booster, but Buddy seemed sick. Buddy turned out to be ok, probably just a cold, but I wasn't charged for both ferrets, I was only charged for Harley even though he examined the 2 of them. I saved a good amount of $$ as I could have been charged alot more considering how many times I've been there.

Given many are rescues there have been lots of issues to deal with, both physical and emotional trauma.Every All of the doctors and technicians have provided professional attention and genuine care, for furry and two legged patients. Their hours are terrific, and they always seem to be able to squeeze in an unexpected vet visit. Their vet fees, medicine costs and necessary prescription foods are fair. They are without a doubt an excellent veterinary animal hospital.

We have been using Dr. V since we got our first dog in 1992. He was a new vet at that time, so we've watched him grow his practice and feel like he knows and treats us like family. His office staff is efficient and they can always get us an appointment in a timely manner. When Dr. V is not available, I've seen a couple of his partners and they are just as kind as he is. One time, we needed a specialist and Dr. V had one come in for our dog. We have moved since those days, but we now live near Sea Girt,and fortunately for us, Dr. V has expanded to Sea Girt Animal Hospital. We highly recommend either.

Micheal Yurkis is a dog murderer! He is completely incompetent We brought our sick dog in and he lacked basic knowledge. He didn't hydrate the dog, and he charged for more expensive tests . Our dog died two days later because of his misdiagnosis. They even had the nerve to try and charge my parents for the appointment he missed this morning when he died. These people are inhumane monsters and we will be reporting him to the board and hopefully he never practices again.

I have been going to Middletown Animal Hospital for about a year and I have never had a bad experience. My most recent visit was due to the fact that my puppy was not feeling well. I called the office first thing in the morning and they had me in in less than an hour. The office is clean and professional and the wait time was minimal. The ladies that took my dogs vitals were kind and caring, had a gentle touch and made my very nervous pooch calmer. I was sick with worry and Dr. Margolis was reassuring , thorough and took the time to answer all my questions. She even made a follow-up call the next day to see how she was doing. This nervous father and his girl could not have asked for a better experience.

I have been visiting Middletown Animal Hospital for nearly 15 years. The entire staff had always been incredibly courteous and accommodating (and patient), even when I call in a panic state. Dr. Curro is by far the best vet because he had always been genuinely interested in my babies' (1 Husky, 5 Bearded Dragons, 1 passed-on Common Snapper) well being, including making suggestions on their medical treatment(s) instead of forcing the decision. If he didn't know something that my babies had, he would admit it and would research it until he found the answer.

If i could give them 0 stars i would. Whatever you do just don't go to Middletown vet. They misdiagnosed my dog for two years and told me she had a hygroma and then this year when we took her they told me it was not a hygroma but never bothered to test it before this year. Long story short it was cancerous and inoperable due to its size and she had to get her leg amputated because of them.

We have a new pup and are moving to Florida 12/26/17 but are planning our trips back to NJ based the routine care needs of our pets as a great facility and doctors are hard to find. The group of doctors are always available to answer any questions. I can usually get an appointment on the day I call. Dr Magolis has been wonderful with our dog Kenzie. She had had major issues and has gotten Kenzie back on track. Been going there for 20 years.

Had to switch a vet on a short notice, they were able to give me an appointment for next day. Dr. Yurkas was great. He suggested a completely different approach to an ongoing problem our bull terrier had for a year and a half. And the treatment worked. I am hoping that it's a permanent fix of the problem. Definitely will be going here with both dogs from now on.

This is an effective hospital. I've taken my pets here for many reasons, from nail trimmings to overnight stays, and they can handle it all. If you're in the area, give them a call. There hasn't been any question of mine they haven't been able to answer.

Michael Yurkis is incompetent , and should not be practicing as a vet needs a better suited job. Maybe mcdonalds? Brought my cat to get his nails cut and the vet cut one nail and refused to cut the rest without even bothering to get a vet tech I will not be bringing any of my animals back to this facility. As my mother is handicapped she brought the cat to this facility wasted our time and still charged us for cutting one nail.

Hershey our 85 pound chocolate lab has been a patient of Middletown Animal Hospital since he was born 2 1/2 years ago. Every doctor/nurse and associate has been loving and considerate towards us at every visit. From the time he was a 9 pound pup, they must have done something right because it is not normal that a dog would love to see the Vet as much Hershey did and does. He is like a kid - he feels love and he must feel safe at Middletown Animal Hospital because even when we have made an emergency sick visit he wags his tail, and is happy to be there. I have recommended Middletown Animal Hospital many times, and now many friends and family members are patients. So to me they must be doing something right. The waiting area is large enough to hold many animals and Hershey loves the treats! I Would continue to recommend them!

Took my cat. Didn't like that the vet doc. Was not avaible after my kitty had teeth extraction. To these day I don't know which tooth or teeth were extracted or how the dental cleaning went. I hate it that I was not there when she woke up from the anesthesia. I hated the fact that the person I was talking to sounded more like the janitor then a vet assistant.

We had our first experience in April 2015 and it was a really good experience. Our puppy is very nervous and they were great with her. The waiting room is clean and the staff is friendly. The vet is awesome. She made sure our baby was relaxed and comfortable. The vet tech really made sure our baby was scared when she did her vitals. They are really caring.

I would like to share my experience with Middletown Animal Hospital. June 2018 my Ping (Yorkie) was not holding down food or water, made an appointment with the Middletown Animal Hospital the same day. Vet recommendation was to run a series of blood work, administer fluids since he was dehydrated and re-evaluate once the results were complete. About an hour later I received the phone call Ping was in Kidney Failure. I weighed my options and decided given his lengthy history of insulin dependent diabetes and blindness additional medical intervention was not in his best interest. The decision was made to give him peace. A week later I received an invoice in the mail which I expected however didn't anticipate the amount would be as high as it was, given the fact I took my boy home to bury him in my yard. I subsequently paid this bill monthly and was informed I would be charged a $5 service fee, never missed a payment. Fast forward present moment October 2018 which was so disturbing I had to write this review to inform others who might decide to use Middletown Animal Hospital. My 20 year old cat's health was deteriorating, she had stopped eating and using the litter box. I reluctantly made the call to the Vet again having to say goodbye to my family member. I called crying informing the receptionist I needed an appointment to euthanize my cat. She asked my name and asked me to hold on. She returns to the line stating I had an outstanding balance of $200 and she could not make the appointment until the balance was paid in full, as per the owner of the hospital Dr.Yurkus. I could not believe what I was hearing. I was so completely upset and astonished at the inhumanity of this facility. I hung up and called another hospital to lay my Marie to rest. The following day I called Middletown Animal Hospital and spoke with Jerry the Office Manager in order to understand their lack of compassion for animals and humans. He proceeded to explain I was turned away because I had an outstanding balance and they do not accept monthly payments for services however failed to mention this to me as they cashed my check every month for 4 months. I cannot comprehend how they are in the business of helping animals, the only business I see is the business of making money. They should be ashamed of themselves, this is not how you treat people or animals.

The office staff is always very welcoming and understanding regardless of the circumstances. I have been in with an aged pet for the hard quality of life discussions and always felt that everyone there was invested in the best thing for both the pet and myself. I have also been in with a new puppy and again everyone was enthusiastic and excited to meet the new member of my family. The office is clean and the waiting room is very comfortable.
