I took my dog to Goodlettesville Animal Hospital with a small red spot on the back of her shoulder area. They diagnosed it as a hot spot and sent me home with a treatment plan which included drying up/hardening the scab (very bad for puncture wounds). Three days later, large amounts of serum and blood were dripping out of her wound. I went back in to GAH and they discovered that my dog had a puncture wound (not a hot spot) and would need extensive surgery. When I picked her up several hours later, she had a cone shaped wound that was about 3" diameter at the top and 2" deep and another wound they had to make because she had developed an additional pocket of infection under the skin (due to the hardened scab). This new huge wound and the smaller new wound required constant care and took over a month to heal completely. None of this would have been necessary had this issue been diagnosed properly in the first place.

I have been taking my dog here for about 3 years. I'm overall pleased. The prices are good, especially for boarding. It's not the nicest facility. But they are remodeling. It's definitely solid and I feel comfortable taking my dog there. The people have always been friendly and respectful.

Goodletsville AH is amazing! The staff is very attentive and respectful. We've used them for everything, from having to say goodbye to a dear friend and keeping our other friends up to date and healthy. They couldn't be more accommodating. If I could give 0 stars I would, this place is only worried about money & not quality of life for the pet. My dog has been on the same medication for 17 years & needs it to survive yet this place is refusing to prescribe the medication unless I give them $300 in unnessecary blood work. They clearly only care about themselves and funding their renovations & not the pet.

I drive an hour each way to take them to GVAH, and the drive is worth the peace of mind I get knowing that I have good people taking care of my babies. Only veterinarian open this weekend due to Labor Day, refused to see me. Asked a few times explained no vet open nearby. Some other clinics were full but were much kinder, offered alternatives, compassion, and referrals. Goodletsville Animal Hospital was cold and seemed to care less if my animal died.

Dr. Pelletier and Dr. Gross treat your pets as if they were their own fur babies. Very caring and upfront about your pet's health and treatments. The staff at the desk and in the back are always the same as well. They may cost a little more than some or s little less, but for me it's about the trust of how my fur kids will be treated.

This place is awful! I had to wait two hours to be seen and that was with an appointment. When the doctor did come in she barely examined my dog and showed no compassion for her. We had more questions but the doctor left out of the room and never returned. We were quoted one price for service and charged another. It was so bad I had to take my dog somewhere else to be treated. I will never go back and would NOT recommend this place to anyone!

I am not very impressed with this veterinary clinic. We took our Chihuahua in to be seen because he was experiencing bleeding, extreme weight loss, loss of appetite, and other issues. The vet that was on-call did not seem confident in the decisions she was making and after giving us high dosages of medication after putting medication in our pup we later found out that he was misdiagnosed and died from complications of the illness he had. I will no longer return to use this vet's services.

The staff here is phenomenal. I brought my dog in to get fixed and a few other things. The staff called me periodically throughout the day to keep me informed how the surgery was going and how she was recovering. They got me set up with everything for aftercare and explained the different medications so i knew how to properly administer them once home. Check-out was simple and the price was reasonable. The hours work great for my schedule and allowed me to handle this without missing work. Thanks for the great service.

I reviewed Dr. Gross from this hospital and this review is an extension of that review. This vet clinic hosts a weak, uncaring man. Dr. Todd Gross nearly killed my dog with steroids and then had the gaul to accuse me of drugging him with narcotics. If you care about your animals health and wellbeing, you should take them anywhere else.

I was just in this morning (7/20/19) and the vet comes in to say, “I hope I don’t offend you….” This was a matter of me being a walk in with my dog this morning. I have walked in before at Goodlettsville Animal Hospital as well as made appointments. It was always my understanding that there was an order 1. Emergencies; 2. Appointments; 3. Walk ins. I did not know this was a problem and I’m always wary when someone starts a conversation with “I don’t mean to offend….” That's right up there with "Bless your heart." During the conversation I asked out of confusion, “You all don’t do walk ins anymore?” She replied they do, but things can get backed up and there could be a wait. I knew this and recognized that there might be a long wait but wasn’t bent out of shape about it. This is not the first time I’ve felt a certain discomfort going there. A few months back I boarded my dog there and when I went to pick him up, he was hyperventilating which I’d never seen him do. They gave him to me in that condition and when I got home it didn’t stop. I had to take him to the doggie emergency room less than an hour later where the vets wondered why he was given back to me hyperventilating. He almost died and left me with a $400 emergency room bill and a prescription for anti-anxiety pills. I’ve felt some discomfort going there before but could never quite put my finger on what is was. After the hyperventilating episode I should have been done. I’ve boarded my dog at another place since then where he enjoys going and have had no problems and he hasn’t had to take the anti-anxiety meds. But I’m going to switch veterinarians. This was disconcerting to say the least. I didn’t break the rule so saw no reason to be admonished about being a walk in. I wasn't "offended." I was embarrassed. I guess when it’s all said and done, I’m only “offended” that this was even made an issue. I’ll be looking for another vet. This is my experience and I’m certain others have had sterling experiences with Goodlettsville Animal Hospital, but sometimes it’s just not a good fit and I’m taking responsibility for my choice to move on to another vet and am open to suggestions.

This is a wonderful clinic and boarding facility. Not only is it clean and efficient, the staff is warm and caring. We have always been treated with the utmost respect, and Shugg has always been very well tended. We've boarded her multiple times and she loved it. The care she received for medical treatments was always gentle and kind. When she was finally diagnosed with kidney failure, the vet discussed all options with us and treated us as if we were family. Their sensitivity and caring will always be deeply appreciated by us. We can recommend this clinic with the highest praise.

I had used Goodlettsville Animal Hospital for years for multiple pets and been satisfied with the service. However, what would be the last time I ever used Goodlettsville Animal Hospital was when I put them in the be boarded while on vacation. I returned from vacation, went and picked up my dogs. ( Chihuahua's ) When I dropped them off 2 1/2 weeks prior they were in top excellent health, very happy, no problems what so ever. The day I picked them up they were a mess. One was bleeding out the rectum. The other's eyes were swollen. The one who's eye's were swollen had to have eye surgery where some type chemical had caused, eat away, etc. a hole in his eye. Needing the surgery, follow up care, prescription meds. Thankfully the other dog that had been bleeding out the rectum recovered without expensive vet. care. The one that needed surgery due to the eyes finally recovered as well but only after $ 1800.00 plus in surgery, medications and follow up vet. care. Needless to say that I did find another vet who took care of all these problems, did the surgery, etc. I tried on numerous occasions to get the office manager at Goodlettsville Animal Hospital to return my call to which they did not. I called numerous times hoping to speak to the office manager and was told they were not available. I called again asking to speak to the medical director / head vet. and could not get anyone to address my concerns or return my calls. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that my Chihuahua's were abused by someone at Goodlettsville Animal Hospital while being boarded there. I boarded my dogs there and paid top dollar in hopes that it being a vet. clinic that my dogs would get the best and safest care and attention. I had always used this vet for all my pets needs. I will NEVER use Goodlettsville Animal Hospital again and I will advise friends, family, or anyone else I run across to never use them either. p.s. Them never returning my calls to address my concerns says so much about how little they care about peoples pets.

We recently took our four cats (Chaos, Boots, Maxx & Sandy) to Goodlettsville Animal Hospital for the first time since we moved to the area. We did a lot of research and they had not only the most reviews but consistently high reviews. Also, the estimates they gave us were in the ballpark of some but lower than most. Based on all this, they became our obvious choice of where to go. This initial visit was for a checkup and everyone came out with high marks however Maxx did need to return for a dental treatment. He had to have a few teeth pulled but the staff was very accommodating in answering all questions we had. Dr. Gross called when the procedure was complete and was very patient in answering any questions I had as well as listening to my concerns. Maxx was sent home with a couple of meds we needed to give him in the days after his procedure and quickly became his old self. The staff followed up a few days later asking us how he was doing and wanting to know if we had any questions. A few days after this we got a letter and coupon thanking us for choosing them and inviting us to return in the future. These first visits assured us we had found a place we can confidently return in the future to get the best care.

My dad took our senior dog to another facility yesterday after she experienced loss of vision, hearing, and appetite. She was barely able to move, as well. the other facility charged $75 just to look @ her and tried to charge $450 for an x-ray. Being that we don't have that kind of money laying around, my dad chose to leave that facility and travel half an hour to Goodlettsville Animal Hospital---a place that we'd been to before with a prior senior dog of ours. The staff @ Goodlettsville Animal Hospital saw our sweet dog immediately. After an x-ray was performed, it was determined that she had a large tumor that was causing all of her problems. It was treatable; however, prolonging her life would most likely just cause her more trouble. The decision was made to put our sweet girl down, but it was much easier to do with the compassionate care of the staff. Everything was explained to us in-depth, from what was wrong with her to what needed to be done. The doctor and her assistant even sat down in the floor with us and provided consolation. We were given as much time as possible to be with our sweet girl before we had to say goodbye. From start to finish, we were charged $190. That's almost $400 more than what we would've paid at the facility she was first taken to. Goodlettsville Animal Hospital treats your babies with compassion and your families with understanding. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again or to refer family and friends.

Anyone looking for a compassionate vet look no further than Dr Gross at GAH. Such an intelligent doctor. He is always willing to think outside the box on how to best treat my Chihuahua who has several health issues, and I am convinced I would have lost my beloved pet ages ago without being fortunate enough to have found Dr Gross. Where other vets saw a problem dog, Dr Gross took the time to really look through his case and provide a higher quality of life with his treatment plans. He cares about the animals but also cares about the wellbeing of his clients. Never seems like he is in a hurry in the exam room and always makes sure your questions are answered. I have never once felt like GAH was about money, and in fact Dr Gross has always seemed to be a minimalist on drugs and procedures he recommends for my pet. He is the best, and the whole staff at GAH deserves a 10 star rating. Highly recommend!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Goodlettsville Animal Hospital and specially Dr. Pelletier! In 2007, I started going to Dr. P on a recommendation from someone at my doggie day care when I lived in Inglewood and wasn't happy with my vet. She and others at Goodlettsville Animal Hospital provided amazing car for my bluetick coonhound Mo on a regular basis, and then when he developed a lung issue, they went above and beyond, sending radiology results to UT for further review. The day that Mo took a turn for the worst in June of 2011, the care and concern for both him and myself was above reproach. I was working in Franklin and made several trips to Goodlettsville that day ultimately to have let my sweet boy run free to the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Pelletier was to leave to go on vacation that day and waited for me to get across town for the process, so she could be there with me. Something I will never forget! In June of 2012 I had moved to South Nashville when I got a new rescued dog, a German Shorthaired Pointer. Although I now live and work further away, I couldn't imagine having anyone else provide care for my fur child, and we still go to them to this day. They even recommended a behavior specialist when I needed some help! The staff and physicians listen and are attentive to the problem and general care for my pets, not to mention they are affordable. My dogs are my children and it's wonderful to see how excited my kids are to see their doctor. They don't like going to the vet's office, but once they see Dr. P, the tails just wag every time. She has gotten to know my dogs and me and helped us in every way possible. The convenience of Saturday and Sunday appointment times, I am sure are not convenient for the staff but they do it anyway! Highly recommend them in every way!

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! They only care about money. I took my two month old lab here a few days ago after he cut open his lower paw ( he bled ferociously) When i got there they quickly downplayed his injury saying it was just a tiny cut and sent us home with a wrapped (bandaged) paw which i paid a total of 160 for. Then they called the day to take it off (which was odd to me considering how much he bled) so they took his bandage off and took back the leg cover and cone. After two days i tried to ease him back into physical activity by taking him on a short walk.. as soon as we got going his paw started bleeding out badly! At that time they were closed so i had to wait until the next day. That next morning his paw was still bleeding an insane amount (he chewed off anything i tried to put on him) and i took him there and asked for a quote on how much it would be and no one could tell me. They called and said he was ready for pick up and that he had developed an infection from it not being bandaged!!!! So i had to pay a 40 revisit fee and another 58 for the infection medicine!! BOTH ARE CAUSED BY THERE FAULTS!! What really pissed me off was that they refused to give him a bandaged and i begged for one!! I asked them how is he going to be able to not continue to get infected if he’s running around with an open wound and they said “keep an eye on him” “ wear a leash” . I’ll make sure to the best of my ability the no one in my community ever goes back there!! They will be hearing from me ..

My Dog Bongo received the best care there for many many years. He passed away recently and during the darkest days of being a pet owner, we received such kindness & compassion. They helped us look at all possibilities and options. They helped with details that made the unbearable less of an obstacle to tackle. They prices are more than reasonable. Make sure You double check your pet has all the shots this facility requires. There is a pretty obscure shot that cost 63 bucks that they require You have your pet get before boarding. This is a shot that they should tell you ahead of time clearly since it is not required at most places. Great way to make an extra 63 bucks though. Dont assume you have had the shot...you likely have never heard of it.

My Wife just came in to pick up a script for our dog who has really bad skin problems and was told they have tried to reach her which is not true and refused to give her the Medication our dog needs. Very poor service.

I'm new to the area and chose this vet based on the google reviews and proximity. I was not let down! Staff was friendly, office was clean and the appointment went quickly and smoothly. Dr. P was lovely, and very good with my kitty. They even allowed me to settle up still in the exam room, which was nice .. no toting a freaked-out cat into the waiting room to hang with the other scared animals while I took care of running a credit card. Will definitely be going back, and feel lucky to have a great vet so close by!

I had to put my 16 year old Boston Terrier, Daisy, down today :( The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, They made it as painless as possible. Even though I didn't have an appointment, They were able to get us in very quickly. Their fee was also extraordinarily reasonable
