The Veterinarians at Copeland's are the BEST! Dr. Cottrell saved my dog Jake's life about one and half years ago. If it was not for her and her expertise, and compassion, my husband and I would have had to put him down to prevent him from suffering. After thousands of dollars and no answers from another vet, one visit here ,bw, and daily meds and he is a happy, healthy dog. Thank you to Dr. Copeland and his entire staff. Never will go anywhere else.

They are just letting my dog (my best friend), who has been coming to their office since he was a little puppy, they are just letting him die. All they care about is money! I paid them 200.00 on Saturday and they did not do any blood work, no X-rays, and all he had done since then is get worse and when I tried to tell them the first thing they have to say is that it will cost me more money! I have called some mobile vet that cares more than they do and I will have to pay him to come and take care of him if he does not get better soon. I am so upset and worried!

Most of the staff was alright, but our vet tech, Josh, was absolutely amazing. The biggest problems I had was with informed consent. We took our pups in for vax and checkups, which we were told would cost about $30 per dog. Without asking if we wanted it or telling us it would be a higher cost, they also did fecal swabs and gave the dogs worm pills, which upped the price to around $60 per dog. The price was a little on the high side to begin with, but the practice of performing procedures for which there is an upcharge without asking for consent or mentioning the upcharge is just bad business. I doubt we'll be taking our dogs there again. Edit: Got a call from Copeland regarding this review. They were very apologetic and assured me that unapproved procedures and fees were not their norm and offered to fix the problem. Great follow up and customer service. We'll at least give them another chance to see how things go next time.

All of the staff are wonderful. They truly seem to care about my border collie mix when she comes in. After her surgery, the doctor called to check up on her, not one of the techs. It is a huge piece of mind to find a place that seems to care about my dog as much as I do.

Will not come here again. The receptionist was rude when I was asking questions. I asked questions about flea pills and the cost of things because I did not know how they price, since I normally go to another vet. I got charged a “physical examination” fee when no exam was done. I will stick to my normal vet, VCA Ragland & Riley Animal Hospital.

My cat UBC passed away. It was quite tough on me. However, from beginning to end, Copelands was there for me. I brought her in on emergency and Dr Baker and Josh helped to diagnose her and begin treatment. When, due to the disease, she began to fail a few days later, Dr Burnette was there to try another treatment, handle my tears, and to then help my baby girl pass peacefully. They were professional and compassionate. I was happy to bring my newly adopted cat to see them. I trust Copelands with all of my critters and have the utmost faith in the vets and staff.

My dog was having bloody diarrhea and I was very worried. Took her to Copelands and the vet, Dr Wilton, was very thorough with explaining everything. Was quick with finding an answer, did blood work, and gave me meds to help my senior dog. Was a little pricey, but I guess that's expected for a walk-in "hospital".

I absolutely love this place! Dr. Barker, yes Barker! is a gem! I have taken both my dogs here for various things, and they have always been wonderful. The assistants are very nice, and they show that they really care about your small family members (pets), the prices are reasonable, and their rates for bathing are the lowest around...they do the washing, ears and nails for cheaper than I could get MY nails done! I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone!

This is a fantastic vet clinic. I had to have a ferret put down, and although it was a terrible thing to do the staff and Dr Burnett were so respectful and kind to my little Ghost. I appreciate everything they did, it was a rough day but I was met with smiles and I couldn't have asked for such a kind experience. I actually received a book and a note signed by the vet and staff, I can't express how humbled I am and thankful for the love they shared for my ferret. Thank you so much, Copeland.

Neighborhood dog(s) attacked one of my cats 9:00pm on a Saturday night. I'm 30 mins from town. I called in and they were at the office when we arrived. Got the kitty stabilized and decided to make a decision on Monday as to the proper treatment. *Everyone* at Copeland went above and beyond to help to the best of their ability. Ultimately, our kitty had to be euthanized - NO fault of the vet, what-so-ever. He was very well cared for the 2 weeks he was there and the injuries were just too much to come back from. Yes, two weeks at the vet has a cost, but it was certainly not excessive given the situation. We will not hesitate to visit again.

I loved EVERYTHING! The staff and Dr Baker was amazing! Everyone was helpful and polite. We took our Suzi in for possible poisoning (she got into the neighbors gardening supplies) and they explained every option and price before any decision was made. They didn't rush us and didn't mind we was there passed closing time. Dr Baker even called us the next day to check on how Suzi was doing. Within 24 hours she was back to her vibrant and happy self. The prices were very reasonable for the care and treatment that was administered. We would recommend Copeland Veterinary Hospital to anyone who is looking for the BEST, FRIENDLIEST and most COMPASSIONATE vet in the area.

We brought our chinchilla Munch in for a dental procedure. I was an anxious mess because the entire anesthesia bit scared me but they were so so nice and understanding! They answered all of my questions and they made sure Munch felt comfortable! He still has to eat his food with a little bit of water in it but he gets better every day! I HIGHLY recommend Copeland veterinary hospital Dr. Barker did a wonderful job! Thank you guys so so much!!!

Copeland could not have screwed up more We took our love of our life Roxy to them as a recommendation and after a month or so of stealing our money and giving us hope for her survival, Dr Becker gave us a green light that our Roxy would be just fine, no worries, and Memorial weekend we took her back where they kept her in intensive care then called us on that Tuesday and said our little Roxy did not survive, Dr Becker showed no remorse and then offered cremation, of corse for a large fee. Now they have sent me a bill for an exorbitant amount for misdiagnosis and taking the love of our life. I am telling you to stay away from this place, Dr Becker needs more training or a different profession. I blame him and his arrogance, should have listened to so many of our friends who said Don’t take Roxy to Copeland. I buried Roxy in our yard so she will always be with us and Dr Becker is probably sleeping very well each night .

My friends who are homeless and jobless had a puppy get run over by a car and had his leg broken. Copeland charged $1000 for the surgery and wanted their money up front of they were going to put him down. MANY phone calls were made and finally someone said they would pay the bill. In the meantime we found out that the EXACT SAME SURGERY was HALF the price one town over. The puppy had been there two days already and when we called to say we would like to take him where the price of the surgery is cheaper they said it would cost us $500 for the two days that he had been there. They KNEW the owners were homeless and jobless and just wanted to save their baby!!!!!! YOU SUCK COPELAND VETERINARY CLINIC!!!!!!! You are in it for the money and that is it. Shame on you and I am going to tell everyone that we know and anyone who will listen NOT to take your dog to Copeland Veterinary Clinic in Cookeville, TN.

My family has been taking our pets to Copeland’s for over 8 yrs now. After wonderful experiences I thought it time to write a review. We’ve seen two different doctors over the years and both of them are kind and gentle. You can definitely tell they love animals, are knowledgeable, and don’t try to push for unneeded procedures. I can honestly say I trust them completely. I would definitely recommend taking your fur babies and be sure to ask for Dr. Baker. We love him and so do our pets.

They took amazing care of our dog. She ran away and was found on the road hit by a car and they were called at 2am and someone went and got her stabilized and situated. They really do care about the animals that come in there. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

Wow. $197 for an xray or ultrasound just to verify pregnancy? Highway robbery. Ragland & Riley is $80. First she said you couldn't do an ultrasound for pregnancy check..very rushed like she wanted me off the phone... if I didn't already know better I would have hung up with incorrect info. So much for switching vets...

This place is a rip off! They charged my fiancé 113$ b/c she took our dog there for throwing up. I looked at the bill and it said 113$ " for a B12" shot. I don't know about you but one vitamin is not worth that. They take advantage of people. Also, they are THE MOST exspensive in town for spade and neuter. They want to charge 50$ just for "blood work" to tell you that your dog is fine for surgery.

Literally the worse vet I have ever been to. They over vaccinated my wheaten terrier. And charged over $60 every time. Every vet we went to after Copeland just looked in shock at her vaccination paperwork. They dewormed her three times in a month span and they just fed her "meat treats" WITHOUT telling us and making us pay and she had blood in her stool from it. I do not recommend this hell hole.

Copeland Veterinary Hospital is by far the best. They take the BEST care of my dogs and ALWAYS accommodate them for any reason whatsoever. Kristen Gunnels, Dr. Baker &Dr. Barker are the best of the best. All of their vet techs are also great!!!They take care of your fur babies like they're their own pets. You can't go wrong with going through Copelands!! Update: Once again my mischievous dog wound up in Copeland Vet for an allergic reaction from something& the team was excellent as usual! Quick, promt and CARING SERVICE. This is the place to go for any emergency for your little furry ones, I promise! Dr. Baker is the best vet in the office!

A little pricier on some things, but you pay for the expertise you get. For simple shots, etc. it's OK to go somewhere else, but for anything more complex, I prefer take my animals here, and I have tried many vets. They will give it to you STRAIGHT, will explain things in detail, are compassionate, and will NOT run your pet through unnecessary diagnostics just to rack up $$ at your, and your pet's, expense. Very helpful and respectful, and understanding in stressful and sad moments. Also, they won't talk down to you, which is greatly appreciated. Bottom line: the vets at this practice are not just animal doctors: they are animal lovers, and they do what's best for the animal, not for their pockets. Too bad they can't treat PEOPLE, because I would go HERE.

This past Saturday evening, my beloved 15+ year old Shih Tzu went into respiratory failure. My parents are new to the area, and I was visiting from out of state. After a frantic and disappointing hour of searching for a euthanasia service (around ten o'clock at night), I was able to make contact with 'Josh' through Copeland's emergency line. He met my mother and I at the hospital, gave us time to say good bye to our pup, and was thoroughly respectful throughout the process. Being a technician in my home state, I have a high standard of care, and was nervous that it would be a bad experience for my mother. Josh was excellent, and I could not have asked for things to go more smoothly. My family and I are so appreciative of the assistance we received, and thankful that Copeland was there in our time of need.

We have 7 wonderful cats in our household. A few of them love the food bowl and because we were free feeding, a few of them became overweight. I took our biggest (17 pounds) to see Dr. Barker about 6 months ago for a check up and a weight loss plan. Even though our big guy was healthy, he seriously needed to lose a few pounds. Dr. Barker and Kristin Gunnels worked with us and are continuing to work with us to get our kitties on the road to a healthier future. Our cats have been on a prescription food made by Royal Canin. It's called Satiety Support. It helps our cats feel more full while eating less and it prevents urinary issues. All 7 cats absolutely love it! Our big boy is down to 14 pounds so far and the increase in energy is literally astounding. He doesn't sleep all day anymore and is much more agile. Our two 15 pounders are now down to 11 pounds as well! We couldn't be more pleased with the choice of food and the wonderful advice and care that we have received from Copeland's staff. If you want to work with people who truly care about your pet's well-being, Copeland is the way to go. Thank you guys for everything you have done and continue to do!

All of the ladies at the front were very nice. The vet I saw, Dr. Seth Baker, was very informative and helpful with my cat, Schrodinger. He didn't charge me for anything he didn't think Schrodinger needed, and was very professional. I will be going back for all of Schrodinger's needs and I would highly recommend going here if you're looking for professional, accurate, and loving pet care.

We changed vets to Copeland about 9 months ago and were so glad we did. The compassion that Dr. Baker showed is one that we were lacking at our previous vet. Unfortunately we had to put our fur baby down this week due to medical issues. As hard as it was for us, we can not thank Dr. Baker and Megan Lefevre (Licensed vet tech) enough for the compassion and care they showed to not only our Lab but to us during the process. From the moment we walked in the door at Copeland Veterinary Hospital 9 months ago until the last day, we were welcomed by the front desk and shown kindness and true concern for our Lab.

We have 2 Guinea Pigs we take to usually see Dr. Jason Wilton. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They're always willing to work with us as college students to get our guys better when we have a problem. Avoid this place at all costs. I took my cat here with an emergency and had to wait 45 minutes to even get into a room, and another 30 to even see a vet. She had a huge abscess from a cat attack. Told me my cat was pregnant and to come back in two weeks to get her fixed. We had to drop her off, and it took another 45 minutes for them to get me in to go over a sheet of paper and take my cat. Get a call at 6 THAT NIGHT, they hadn't done the surgery, and they tell us that she's already been fixed! They close at 7:30, so we had to wait until the next day to get her. They charged us $100 for a "visit" and a rabies shot! I'm never taking my animals here again. My other cat was only charged $14 for a rabies shot. Absolutely ridiculous.

Going to the doctor is never fun for human or beast, but the comprehensive care and patience my pets and I have received at Copeland Veterinary Hospital has made up for that. They took very good and reasonable care of my cat's broken leg over multiple visits. He had to have surgery, and not only did they call me when he was awake, they texted me a picture of him. The staff are very nice. There is absolutely no trace of odor indicating this building is a veterinary hospital. The most heart warming aspect is that it is apparent that Dr. Baker and all the techs who I've been in contact with are 100% animal lovers. Thank you.

I'm new to the area and brought my dog (best friend) there with a mild cough. The vet said his lungs sounded good and his heart was fine and that was the exam. The exam lasted less than 5 minutes. The vet perscribed antibiotics. 6 days later my buddy died. I will never bring another pet there again.

I have taken my cat in twice for a reoccurring issue over the past two months or so. They treated it basically the same way each time without trying to look into the root cause-only giving her medicine for irritation/inflammation instead of trying to figure out why the irritation kept coming back worse each time. I feel like I was overcharged without finding a solution. I only took my cat back the second time because I hoped since they were familiar with what was done the first time, they would take a different approach, but I was wrong. I asked about dietary changes and was given noncommittal responses. When I said my cat was not responding to the treatment, they didn’t seem that concerned, even after they said it could be a UTI, and only suggested that I bring her back in if I felt it necessary (but they told me UTI can only be treated with antibiotics so I’m not sure why they wouldn’t want me to bring her in immidiately). I give two stars only because they were able to answer other general health questions. Overall, I am very disappointed.

I've been bringing my cat here for about 2 years. They helped him with his ear infections, and ever since he has loved the place. I decided to board him here for about a week, and we had an awful experience. He has a bad habit of "having accidents" in his pet carrier on car rides. Of course he had one on the way to the vet, so I asked if they could bathe him. They agreed and I left him there. When I picked him up a week later, they told me that he was still damp from his bath. They didn't bathe him when I dropped him off, they bathed him a day before I picked him up. I think they let him sit in his own poo for a week. When I got him home, he still had poo in his fur, and had developed a nasty sneeze. My wife and i think he's also running a fever. I'm not sure what on earth happened, but my poor cat is in a really bad way. We won't be using this vet ever again. Edit: After I posted this review, the veterinarian contacted me to discuss my review. They offered to refund my fee for boarding, and to treat my cats sneeze and fever. By that point, I had already had him treated, but it was still very nice of them to refund the boarding fee.

My dog needed his tail amputated as a result of a couple hot spots getting severely infected. After several trips to a different Vet, I decided to take him to Copeland, and they suggested amputation. While I was relieved that the ordeal would finally be over (after the wound healed), I was nervous for my baby. He has separation anxiety and I had trouble leaving him. As soon as the surgery was over, I got a text with photos of my dog and a call from the Vet that performed the surgery. He was caring and compassionate through the entire process, and I'll definitely use Copland again.

They are amazing. They saved my dogs on a emergency visit from before. Went there again for my cat Hansome. He had got into some trouble and got a nasty wound. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this vet. hospital. We had to bring our cat to them because he has feline leukemia. The doctor there personally took care of our cat. He had to have a blood transfusion, worked beautifully and every since that we have called and came by whenever we needed. ALL of the staff and doctors always make time for all our questions and give us many options. Also they are willing to work with us when it comes to payment. Will never use another vet!

Copeland Veterinary Hospital was great!!!!! I took my chihuahua to them for various reasons (defecation problems, as well as joint problems). I was very hesitant because my chihuahua is very snappy when meeting new people. The tech and the doctor were amazing. The came in a petted her and loved on her before doing anything. They talked to me about all of my options and allowed me to make the decision without forcing me to pay more (they actually suggested for me to do everything at once so I would not have to pay another office visit, most places would not tell you this so they could make more money). For all they did for my chihuahua, i thought the price was very reasonable, and they also accept care credit, which allows you to pay off the cost within 6 months without interest. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND COPELAND VETERINARY HOSPITAL!!!!!

ONLY REASON I GAVE 5 STARS IS SO U ALL CAN SEE MY POST....All the times i have used them they have gaven me one price then charged me another... then i paid for flea treatment after surgery and she never got it and when i went to pick the last baby up i took they wouldnt release her after being paid cause the $ was put on another account and could not give me explication as to why!... when i was trying to discuss with the lady (Diana) she screamed at me said im not arguing and fighting with anyone over a F*ing dog.. its either u pay what i say u owe or we keep it! So we had to pay another $300 after already paying $300... and they said we owe $686 still when all was paid....

Our puppy at four months broke her leg, we took her to Copeland on a Saturday and didn’t wait long before we headed to a room. They gave X-rays and let us know, detailed along with many options, of how it would be fixed. She was there for a month or so. They let us come and visit whenever we wanted during her healing process all while sending us pictures and phone calls with updates. They were so kind to her, and you could tell they loved her and she adored them. Even following appointments she would be so excited to see them, our vet even went to the back to let them know she was there and those sweet girls came to say hello! She is now running around normally and a very happy pup! I love the atmosphere and it’s very clean! I have nothing but positive things to say! I will continue to be taking my animals to them.

Roomate’s kitten was sent here to get fixed. brought him back home, and about a week later a complication arises (this is not their fault I don’t think). We rush him back to have him looked at and they ask us if we have been SEXUALLY MOLESTING him and that is the only way he could have got this bad. I can not recommend this vet.

My sweet beardie, Albie, had a prolapse Tuesday and again today. The vets that she has had have be amazing, along with the technicians! Each of the several times we have been in, in the past couple of days, we have been treated like family. She isn't out of the woods yet, and we still have a rough several days ahead, but I have full faith that the doctors have and will do all they can for her. I wouldn't trust anyone else.
