We truly love this clinic. In the past, our animals (2 cats and 2 dogs) have visited with Dr. Patterson, Dr. Martin, Dr. Ferrell, and most recently, Dr. Shoultz. It would be an impossibly unfair task to suggest one over the other because they have all been extremely helpful, exhibited the upmost professionalism, and have certainly improved the quality of our pets’ lives. I have never had a visit where my questions weren’t taken seriously, and answered with a genuine willingness to assist. I have also never had a visit where I felt rushed to get through the appointment. Inversely, I’ve never had to wait more than about five minutes to be seen (with appointment). It’s easy to get pets in for visits and in emergent situations, they are WONDERFUL about finding time to fit the pet in that day, and at the earliest possible time. Any concerns are met with careful consideration from the team. The techs are also fantastic, and I’ve noticed that over the years, the staff is consistent and there is little turnover- indicative of a good working environment with pleased employees. Both of our dogs have had significant visits recently, and each time the tech was a pivotal part of the examinations. Regretfully, I didn’t get her name, but one tech cheerfully helped me obtain a sample from my elderly husky just before leaving the clinic. This was after she had been a crucial part of aiding in his shots and blood draw. Ambrielle also helped us out earlier this week with our other newly adopted dog, and we were so impressed with her charisma, cheerful attitude, and eagerness to help. Overall, I just can’t say enough good about this clinic. If you’re looking for a group of very committed, well-trained vets who will go above and beyond for your pet, look no further.

Absolutely wonderful vet. Dr. Clanin is so caring and patient with us as first time dog owners. She really listens to us and never makes us feel stupid for asking a million questions. She explains things in a way that is simple but never condescending. She's extremely gentle with our pets and always walks you through what shes doing as she does it. They're also very up-front with what everything will cost ahead of time and are very understanding to budgets. The staff is great and very helpful both over the phone and in person. Going to the vet was one of those ‘adult’ things that never really clicked with me until I found this place. Up until recently I just saved up enough to get the basics through Young Williams and pet well clinics so that my cat was fixed and vaccinated and had flea treatments throughout the years- each trip an isolated and uncomfortable new exchange that started and ended with my own ideas and know-how about my cat’s health. Cut to 8 months ago: my first real deal, life or death, OMG emergency when a new kitten that we took in from da streetz was so rambunctious that one of his crazy jumps led to a bad fall that shattered his little pelvis area so badly I thought we would both pass out. I panicked, immediately. I cried and panicked and googled emergency animal hospitals and cried and panicked and scrolled and cried and panicked until my husband came home from work and took us both in to central veterinary hospital, after calling another vet that recommended this place. In that freak-out afternoon we were so fortunate to end up walking into the central vet hospital- where I spent plenty of time crying in the lobby, waiting and panicking and crying and blaming myself. Long story long- they saved his little kitten life, and we’ve been back several times since, and I’ll never forget my waiting room experiences that first day when I thought I’d never stop crying and that my heart might crumble apart- When one of the staff diagnosed my heartache and prescribed the only remedy- puppy cuddles. It really made a huge impact on me and truly did help me cope when someone just took it upon herself to bring over a sweet little puppy to give me kisses while I was waiting for my kitty. Empathy, bruh. Nailed it! I lost my train of thought as I recall the puppy story bc it brought a tear to my eye just now, how sweet that was. Anyways, this is the vet! They are the bees knees! They got that good puppy cuddle medicine! If you’ve finally found this place for your pets’ needs, you’ll never need to look anywhere else again, girl.

We got my puppy without any shots or paperwork from a girl and did not have a vet near our new home. We got on Facebook and asked for recommendations near us, and Central Vet was the only recommendation from multiple people. Ranger Rick loves his doctor, and they helped us get him as well as our cats into their system... Ranger was given a treat while getting shots and it didn't phase him at all, which made me like the doctor more. He was also given a little puppy bag when we were leaving. The staff was extremely friendly, and seemed to be in love with all the animals there which made us feel more comfortable. The prices are fair, and I would highly recommend this vet to anyone.

Just moved here and was super nervous about finding a vet for my dog. I did some looking and people were recommending this place and for good reason. The staff was more than professional and considerate, the facility was clean, it was a quick in and out visit but didn't feel rushed, and was affordable. The vet explained everything as he did it and was even on the floor with my dog to be at his level rather than putting him up on some table which I've experienced before. I have yet to get referred to specialist.. Armani, my dog went to his appointment a week and half ago. He was diagnosed with a torn ACL. They told me they would call when they got blood results back within a few days and did not call. I had to call them, then they told me his results and the girl said she would send referral over to get Armani in to see the specialist. I waited yet another few days and no call ONCE AGAIN. Might I add my dog is still at home with a torn ACL being clueless on what to do next..SO I called back the other day and one the guys answered the phone and told me that girl nor the vet weren't in that day and would call me first thing the Next morning. Still YET NO CALL, So i called them near closing time and was left on hold for 30 min. I hung up and I called back and was left on yet ANOTHER HOLD FOR 30 MINUTES! Here I am at square one with yet nothing done about my poor baby who is suffering and they don't seem to care less. I originally left my old vet who I use to go to for years because I saw good reviews about this place and the prices were cheaper. I think now I will probably be going back to my old vet. I never had this kind of bad service there. Never. It was Callahan Drive Animal Hospital. I guess I will be calling central vet again today to to try to get my pooch treated who has been suffering for 3 weeks now. But after this is all done with his ACL I don't think I will going to them again!

Chi Chi, a 12 year old chihuaua, was given an over dose of pre surgery anti anxiety medicine. Took him 36 hours to recover ! I stood at the front desk for 20 some minutes waiting to pick My pet up. One young lady was working on the computer, 4 others were laughing and cutting up while I waited. I paid the same bill twice. Once when I picked up My dachshund, then was called a week later saying it wasn't paid ! Would not take proof it had already been settled. That's enough for Me !

My husband and I moved to Knoxville almost a year ago. Our fur baby was needing her annual shots so I did some research on vets in the area. We chose Central Veterinary Hospital. We had an appointment scheduled but ended up needing to get in earlier since Cami was limping. They got us in that day. It turns out she had a torn ACL. Only a few days after receiving her shots and diagnoses of a torn ACL, Cami had a bad reaction to medication which led to her not eating or drinking along with fluid loss from both ends. Once again they were gracious to get us in ASAP. Cami is now on the mend. We are very thankful for the kind staff and Dr. Shoultz for being so genuine and caring. Thank you all!

I absolutely love this vet, MY VET! I have 2 border collies and a cat. My first Border collie has been going here for 7 years, 6 years later she was even here getting g help delivering puppies, all of her pumps came here too! They are friendly, patient, and understa doing but the big factors that I look for are quality, affordability, and convenience.... and they excell in all of that. I never have to wait longer than 3-5 days to come in for routine stuff and they often have appointments available same day as long as I am available.... I just cant brag about them enough! Just go visit them!

Took my dog in for a UTI issue. After several X-rays and ultrasounds, I was told my dog had bladder stones. 36 hours later he went to surgery. 25 minutes after that, the vet called to tell me that he had not noticed that the bladder had burst and that they started surgery too late and he had passed. I decided to do a individual creamation and get his remains back. After waiting 3 weeks I called to see when I could pick up his remains only to be told they made ANOTHER mistake and sent him to mass cremation and there were no remains. If you love your pet do not take him here!! And now a follow up... They were nice enough to send my dog a postcard to let us know that they are looking forward to treating my dog in the future... MY DEAD DOG!!

I love Central Veterinary Hospital. I have two dogs and have been to a variety of vets over the years but since I’ve found CVH I don’t like to take them anywhere else. All of the staff and all of the doctors are wonderful. They are understanding, compassionate, and don’t recommend things that I don’t need. They always take the time to answer questions and even though the place is often busy I never feel like my appointment is rushed.

I LOVE Central Vet Hospital. Every time I have an issue, they talk with me about it over the phone (for no charge) to see if my pet actually needs to come in. They could easily ask that I come in and charge me $50 to give me advice in person but they're always so helpful over the phone. They are usually able to get me in the very next day, and always call in to check on my pet after our visit. Everyone there is super nice and understanding (even when my cat was being a real grump).

Central Veterinary Hospital has been amazing. I have been taking my cat to them for four years. They are always professional and treat your baby as it was their own. Even though my cat was terrified, the vet made sure to make her as comfortable as possible. I also was scared to drop my fur baby off for her first dental exam (which she has to go under anesthesia), and I was so worried because I couldn't be there with her. The staff here let me call whenever I wanted to get an update on her status and that made me feel reassured that she was in good hands. And what was even better is they understood my concerns! They didn't make me feel like I was being overprotective. Instead, they were kind and explained how although this is my first experience, they do this stuff everyday! I highly recommend Central Veterinary Hospital. Wonderful staff, clean facility, and overall great place to take your fur baby for all his/her vet needs.

We had a great experience! Couldn't have been better. I appreciated the large waiting area so our dog didn't get too stressed out with other animals around. As long as I am in Knoxville, I will only take my pups to Central Vet. The front desk staff has always been wonderful to me and my pups every time. Dr. Patterson is the only vet I recommend to anyone looking for a vet here in Knoxville (even complete strangers). Because of him, I was able to love and hold my sweet Boomer for almost 2 extra years. My new pup, Primrose, is now a patient of his and always will be. Raising a pup and making decisions as a couple is a partnership, and each individual should always have a say. However, my partner had NO say in the matter -- she was going to Central Vet! I will forever and always be grateful for Dr. Patterson and Jesse!

More transparency in pricing would be nice. I was told over the phone that my kitten's first checkup right after I got her would be free, but it cost me $45. After bringing her in recently, the Dr. told me that a urinalysis would cost $36, but did not include the additional $45 exam fee and $20 fee for taking her urine sample. I was very much caught off guard when the woman at the front said it would be $101. Luckily, I had just gotten paid and was in a position to pay that much. Other than that, everyone has been very kind and helpful, I have just been caught off guard with the bill each time.
