We have taken our dog, Mollie, here a few times for various things and have always had an easy, great experience. It was never anything serious. That all changed on July 8th, 2014. She was caught off guard by my wife's car backing up and was hit and had what appeared to be a broken leg. I rushed her to the Boones Creek Animal hospital and came in the parking lot sideways. I had called ahead and warned them I was on my way. Two scared parents and a 14 year old Whipador (we think she's a whippet and lab mix) at 8 am on a Tuesday. We arrived and they were ready for us. Dr. Tim Dalpiaz calmed us and ran some X-rays. Once they had more information he explained the situation thoroughly and explained our options. It was all overwhelming, but I simply asked what he would do. He was great and while I was still unsure of how my dog was going to get better, I was confident we had made the right choice. They scheduled her for surgery on Thursday because the shock of the accident along with surgery could kill her. She's old and with anything in a 14 year old its a risk. Mollie had a dislocated right leg. It was decided to do a femoral head ostectomy. In short, this is where they cut off the ball of the femoral bone and put it back. BCAH allowed me to come in each morning and afternoon to visit with Mollie as she rested and prepared for surgery. They always updated me on her status and answered any of my questions no matter how stupid they may have seemed. On the day of surgery, like any worried parent, my wife and I waited in the lobby while they prepared her for surgery. I was fortunate enough to observe the surgery which actually kept me calm but I don't recommend for the faint. Dr. Dalpiaz and the staff gladly explained what they were doing and why throughout the surgery. Mollie woke up post surgery and was groggy of course but I was just happy she had come through the surgery so well. I've been to other vets and the price they gave me for this was less than I've spent at other vets for less We were able to take our Mollie home that same day and as with anything like this you have lots of questions after you leave the doctors office. Dr. Dalpiaz put my mind at ease on many things that would have otherwise drove me crazy and he would check up on how she was doing post operation to make sure their were no issues or questions. I'm sure many will wonder "how much did that cost?" I don't want to get into price but I will say it was reasonable, fair and based on past experiences less than I would have expected from other animal clinics. When your pet is hurt and you love them as much as we do, price is not a question. It's can you do it and what can I expect as far as quality of life after. At the time of this review, it has been 6 days since the surgery and Mollie is doing great and already putting pressure on the bad leg. I could not be happier with the results. I know we have a ways to go in the recovery process but Dr. Dalpiaz and the staff have been wonderful and I owe my dogs life and recovery to their able hands. So if you read this and decide to go see Dr. Tim Dalpiaz, tell them Mollie Dog sent you.

The whole staff at Boone's Creek Animal Hospital are wonderful, vets, techs, and office. You walk in and immediately feel welcome. I have never had a problem that they weren't willing to help me with. They are wonderful with our fur family and seem to treat them like their own. I recommend them to everyone without reservation. Our dog got his tail caught in a door and we were extremely worried. This was our first visit to this vet and I have to say I was impressed. The staff was wonderful, they treated our dog with care. The office itself was pristine, there was no animal smells or odors. And the price was reasonable for all they did for him. This is now my family vet for all my pets. Would recommend them to anyone.

I am so thankful for Boones Creek Animal Hospital and especially Dr Lemarr. My dog needed a cancerous tumor removed, and since we just moved to the area this was my first experience with this vet clinic. It was important to me to make sure that her surgery skills were up to the task of removing the entire tumor with good margins, and she was kind enough to call me at home and spend quite a lot of time discussing it all. That was really important to me, so we went ahead with surgery. Due to the nature of the surgery and recovery, my dog's incision has opened up 3 separate times (through no fault of theirs, he's a troublemaker), and they have been SO compassionate and accommodating in fixing him up. I have probably been on the phone with them at least once a day, usually 2, for the past week and they are never anything less than concerned and helpful. His incision is finally starting to heal properly and it almost feels weird not to talk to Tina at the front desk every morning. I could literally go on and on about the different ways they have gone above and beyond for us over the past month. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Dr Lemarr and the rest of the staff. I am so thankful for the excellent care they have provided my family!

Took my dog to have his nails clipped and he was gone about ten minutes and they brought him out saying he used the bath room (both number 1&2) everywhere and it was all over everyone.he had just used the bathroom about 15min beforehand also my dog was perfectly clean as were the ladies that handled him not even a wet spot on their scrubs. And all this happens in ten minutes ( they took him back trimmed his nails supposedly had all this trouble and cleaned him up in ten minutes??) he wasn't wet when he came out so he didn't get a bath or anything sprayed on him yet he's perfectly clean???? And to boot the dude vet they have there that's seen my dog multiple times walk by us and would not acknowledge our presents much less say hello. What a jerk. I'll never be back there. Place is a ripoff it's anything they can come up with to charge you money every single time. BEWARE OF BCAH PET OWNERS BEWARE

Having be an abandoned, abused rescue, Ginny does not like most people, but the staff there is so kind and caring with her. I have taken my last four companion animals to Boone’s Creek Animal Hospital, after a recommendation from my Brother. In 2019, I have been taking my animals here, and to Dr. Lamar, for 9 years. I’ve lived in Cincinnati, Washington, D.C., Nashville, and a few other much larger cities (that I would like to forget) than Johnson City. NONE have provided the combination of First-Rate, Cutting-edge veterinary medicine, coupled with a staff that is involved, caring, and proactive in checking on my animals well-being. They have taken me through the passing of three of my companions, In a very short time span, and their true love of animals has meant more to me than any medicine could ever provide. When I leave Johnson City to relocate to the Midwest, I know that I am leaving an animal hospital that, here in the mountains of Upper East Tennessee, is the epitome of a “World Class” animal care facility. I brought my dog in for teeth cleaning and extraction because a friend recommended BCAH and the cost quote they gave me was less expensive than the vet I was planning to use. BCAH gave a low quote of $249 and a high quote of $440, and I also agreed to have the iv fluids to keep my dog hydrated during the procedure for $39, so I had the procedure done. When I picked my dog up I was overcharged. The bill was $595.71! I have talked to the person who was working the front counter, then I called and talked to someone that told me I would get a call back, that was about a week and a half ago and still no one has called me back. Then I sent a message here on Facebook (it was read last Friday) and still no reply. At first, I was very pleased with the experience and my dog seemed to be well taken care of but I am very unhappy about being overcharged by so much more than the quoted price I was given and then being ignored. It is bad business to charge a client more than the original quoted price.

We have looked for a good vet's office for a long time and have finally found it. You can tell from the moment you walk into this office that the staff love what they are doing and care about each and every patient. We took our Chihuahua in and he ended up needing surgery. Everyone made sure we were aware of all the options and were comfortable with all of the information we were receiving. The entire process went smoothly and our little baby is home with us now and doing great. We especially loved that each person who entered the room introduced themselves and that the vet himself went over all of the post op information with us and let us know he was available if we needed anything. Wonderful place - We highly recommend.

I just want to let everyone know about the awful awful service we expierenced today. Two weeks ago, we took our dog to Boones Creek Animal Hospital. We were told that he had all the symptoms of Distemper and we would know in a few days if he for sure had it. Well, he had Distemper. Today we awoke to find out that he was dying. So we decided to contact our vet (BCAH) and let them know that we wanted to have him put to sleep because he was suffering. We get to the vet, and a young woman who is a vet tech, was absolutley RUDE. She began to explain to me all these things they could've done to save him two weeks ago. I couldn't believe that she was saying this to my face. My dog is my child. She then proceeded to tell us to take him to the animal shelter. How dare she? I couldn't believe that she was sitting there telling me that they could've saved him and there was nothing they could do now. But they refused to put him to sleep. She said they needed to run more tests? Why in the hell didn't they do that last week?! I've hoped for two weeks that my dog would get better, and now because they refused to help him, he is dead. She basically told us to take our dog home and let him suffer until he dies. They are all about MONEY at BCAH. I will never take any of my pets there again. Absolutley awful service. & OVER PRICED.

I boarded my small dog for a weekend, and wasn't very impressed. When I asked how she'd been, they told me that she hadn't messed in her crate, and declined to elaborate further. Upon inspecting her bedding once we got home I discovered that she had vomited on it, which they didn't tell me, and which had merely been scraped off before returning the bedding to her. They also said that there's a complimentary bath for dogs staying more than one night, and she didn't look (or smell!) like she'd been bathed. (I was fine with her not being bathed, as I washed her right before bringing her in, but if they say they're going to do it, then they really ought to.) My dog didn't seem distressed or underfed when I picked her up, but I likely wouldn't board her there again. Their veterinary services seemed to be of a higher quality than their boarding services, so perhaps my sub-par experience is the exception. I'm usually inclined to give the benefit of the doubt, and I don't see a reason not to here.

The physician was straight forward in asking how extensive I wanted the treatment to be. He also made cost saving, appropriate recommendations. This was also a last minute appointment and the staff worked with me very efficiently to get my pet taken care of.

Not sure who the other reviewer talked to that spelled out all the costs but I didn't get that person. Called to see how much for rabies vaccination and was told $14.00. Ok, make me appointment. Arrive next day to spend 50 minutes in waiting room before being seen and then when I go to pay, am told my bill is $59.82. Seems no one seem to think it important to inform me of the $42.00 office visit charge, $3.70 biohazard charge. You know what they say about first impressions......done.

I am new to the area and just started taking my Lilly (black lab) here. The appointment fees are very reasonable and they ask your PERMISSION before they do anything to your pet as well as tell you the price. It is very clean and everyone is so sweet there and Lilly LOVES going, mainly for the constant attention/love from the staff and many treats. When my Lilly had packed anal glands and couldn't poop, they told me that a vet tech could do it and there wasnt a need to pay for a whole vet visit unless I really wanted to see one first. I was pleasantly surprised! The vet tech expunged the glands for a whole $17 and we were on our way! Lilly was very happy though slightly violated haha. All in all, this is my favorite animal hospital I have ever been to!

I highly recommend Boones Creek Animal Hospital. We are fairly new to this area so I chose a veterinarian that was close to my home. When I walked in the door I was greeted at the front desk with a smile. Our pets are like a part of our family and the staff treats our dogs as if they were their own. Each time we have boarded our dogs, we have received a picture and sometimes a phone call to check in with us if there was a question. Just want to say thank you for the great care.

I have been bringing my Pug-Freddie Mercury into this office for the past four years. I recommend Dr. Dalpiaz and BCAH TO EVERYONE THAT I KNOW! The prices are more than affordable (I am a college student) and I have never once been treated poorly by any of his staff. In emergency situations they have always gotten Freddie in fast and treated him with the greatest care of any vet I have used in the entire Tri-Cities area! Not sure what the female Vet's name is but Freddie has seen her once and she was fantastic as well! We will be bringing a beagle into our family unit next week and he will be going to no one else other than Dr. Dalpiaz! I mean the only vet's office that I know that has seperate entrances for Cats/ Dogs. You receive at no cost a card with your animal's updated vaccinations list. Seems like Dr. Dalpiaz is doing everything right if you ask me and staying on the forefront of technology. It's sad when owners blame the loss of their pet on a vet and want them to take full responsibility. I work in healthcare and watch individuals consistently blame Clinical staff for any issues that arise in their care/ family's care. When in all reality a lot of the issues could have been prevented from their own managed care. Your pet is no different and requires consistent managed care as well. I hope that the few negative comments on this site do not keep anyone from choosing Dr. Dalpiaz as their pet's vet. Coming from someone who puts their pet first! Choose BCAH!

Dr. Dalpiaz and Dr. Lemarr have both gone above and beyond numerous times in treating my pets. Everyone is always very honest about the cost and what you are paying for, which I appreciate. The building itself is beautiful, bright, clean and doesn't smell. As a former employee who knows the behind the scenes operation, you could not ask for a better vet to take your fur baby. Everyone was very friendly. The wait time was minimal and I had our dog and a 3 year old toddler with me so that made it nice and easy. They were very nice to us and our dog Gracie. My 10-ish year-old Boston Terrier "Morgan" went in for surgical repair of a torn ACL. I've called upon closer facilities in Unicoi, and one near Milligan, for more "everyday" services in the past, with other Bostons... Morgan's currently one of five in my home. THIS (extraordinary) time, I looked for the best I could find. I prefer a more holistic approach... and GOT it, with no backtalk; much less, having to explain what "holistic" MEANS !!! The People: Excellence. Sensitivity. Friendly expertise at every turn. Honest and Up-front... Unhurried; Morgan's freak-of-Nature "problem" was patiently explained in everyday language with the help of orthopedic models. Punctual. Mature... if you "have attitude", or are admittedly derelict in your secret conscience and now looking for others to "mop-up, after" your own mistakes ... humble yourself and let this wonderful staff WORK for you. LISTEN to them. The Facility. Spotlessly clean (even the parking lot); an airy and peaceful atmosphere of care and healing. The Price: No surprises. Definitive "value". Other local businesses could learn a lesson, from Dr. Dalpiaz and his crew... one 5-Star quality from the Doc himself, to the great guy who delivered my "Morgan" from the O.R. Some things, you just "Know". BCAH has done beyond humanly "everything" THEY can... the rest is in my hands and God's. He's doing wonderfully at three weeks from "the knife". I brought my dog Coco in for an acupuncture treatment, she has a ruptured disk. Dr. Broyles was very patient in getting to know Coco and evaluating her condition. I have been using this amazing vet service since I moved to Tennessee. I have never been nothing but pleased with the staff,and over the years I've seen all the dr's. They helped me when it was time for my oldest dog Chloe to be put to rest, extremely supportive during a very difficult time. In May , my boxer (Marley ) was diagnosed with cancer in 2 places. The staff went above and beyond with up dates, and when I brought him home they provided step by step after care. He recently became sick and we went right in first thing Saturday. Was taken back to exam room and found out that he had a very bad infection, Dr. Broyles was more than helpful, even after the office was closed she called to give updates, even called on Sunday. Monday came another update, and arranged to pick Marley up that day. Again the staff took the time to go over a very long list of things to do and the schedule for the medications. "Mrs. Shirley Katz of Oregon (Teach01), I would like the opportunity to set the record straight about your recent boarding experience with Boones Creek Animal Hospital. The day before Casey was to be boarded a phone consult happened to explain to your family that Casey had not had a CIV vaccine(Canine Influenza Vaccine). CIV is very contagious to our canine companions and has an 8% mortality rate. I require this vaccine in my boarding facility for the safety of all of our patients. Upon your arrival on 3-30-2011 you proceeded to be extremely vulgar to my staff using curse word after curse word. We even went so far as to ask if you still wanted to board Casey with us. I will not repeat your vulgar reply. Your dog was examined by our doctor and it was determined that Casey would not recieve the vaccine due to her current health status. Casey was boarded for 3 nights at 16.75 per night for a grand total of 50.25. Casey received a free physical exam and was given a free bath the day before she went home. We give all boarding patients a free bath before they go home. Colonial Heights charges 16 dollars a night for a grand total of 48.00 and you receive no bath. I would like to explain that if we only cared about money Casey would of received a CIV vaccine regardless of health status. I would also like to say that had I known of the language you used towards our staff while dropping Casey off that day I would have personally asked you to leave the building. Thank You Dr. Timothy Dalpiaz" I am glad that I read reviews because if I was dissatisfied with your service, veterinarian, you better believe I would have been here to make sure everyone knows about it. I cannot believe you actually posted a client's name on here. If I were Ms Katz, I would be looking to bring you before a civil court for defamation of character and violation of personal information. Dr. Dalpiaz is one of the best vetenarian dr's I know of, he has been our vet for over 10 years. We have had nothing but wonderful service from him and his staff, even the other vets that are there are great as well, we are just partial to Dalpiaz because, back in 2007 our chihuahua (Lucky) was in renal failure due to the dog food that had tainted gluten in it, there was a massive dog food recall. Dr. Dalpiaz saved Lucky... she was in very bad shape! so I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place and it's staff!

The facility at Boones Creek animal hospital is clean and cheerful which is the first evidence of the type of care you can expect your pet to receive from Dr. Dalpiaz and the staff. Dr. Dalpiaz has cared for our kitten as a 2-lb foundling to the big beautiful 17-pound boy he is today. He has cared for our dogs throughout their adulthood until we said goodbye at the Rainbow Bridge. I have never felt anything less than confidence in his diagnoses, his recommendations, his skill, and his compassion. Also, the whole staff there was very caring and compassionate when we had to make the difficult decision to have our dog, Loki, put to eternal rest. As far as costs, Boone's Creek Animal Hospital is comparable to the other vet clinics in this area; and in some cases, their fees are less than other vets we have used. I have been taking my dog to BCAH for almost three years. They are fantastic! To start with, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a scheduled appointment. Both vets are personable, take the time to answer questions, and thoroughly examine my dog. Twice I've had to bring my dog in for illness, and they fit him in as quickly as possible without making me feel like an inconvenience. I've also boarded with them many times, and he always returns happy, healthy, and well fed. They obviously take great care of him while I'm away. This is one of the best animal hospitals I've found in over twenty years of owning a pet.

We went in as a new patient with our little Daschaund Ginger because she was having a hard time breathing and our, now former, vet was going to charge us an exurbanat amount to see us on Saturday. They did x-rays as and we found out she was in heart failure with alot of fluid around her heart. Since she was almost 16 we felt the best thing was to put her down. The care and compassion this hospital staff showed was truly what made a very painful experience better. I absolutely love this vet! I have used them for all dogs I have owned! I always take my dog to the vet as soon as I think something is wrong with him, even if turns out to be something simple like his allergies bothering him really bad. They never look at me or talk to me like I'm crazy when I tell them I think something is wrong with him like other vets do. I have thought about taking my dog other places because sometimes the prices for this vet is a lot more expensive than others, but no matter how much I think about it, I always go to this vet. They take the time to tell you what is going on and explain it to where you can understand. If it is an emergency, they always try to fit you in as soon as possible. The only thing that could make this vet better is if they were open 24/7 so if there is an emergency after they close I can take my dog there instead of having to take him to a vet that I don't know or like very much. I had to take my dog to Robinson Animal hospital one night at 2am because he had a seizure and it was his first seizure ever so I wanted to make sure he wouldn't have another one. They told me that if he had another one then he would be put on medication and then sent on his way. They did not act like they were concerned that he had a seizure. They seemed like they wanted us in and out as quick as possible even though we were the only ones in the vet. It really bothered me. But Boones Creek has never done this and it makes me love this vet even more. Thank you guys so much for always being the best when it comes to taking care of my babies!!

The first time I visited Boones Creek Animal Hospital, I was new to the area and did not yet have a regular vet. My elderly dog took a turn for the worse and I needed to make an emergency appointment to have him put to peace. I was able to get in the same day. The staff could not have been more compassionate during a difficult time. I really appreciated their understanding and care throughout the whole process. They even sent a sympathy card after everything, as did the pet crematory they used. After that, they became my regular vet for all my pets. They listen to my concerns and truly have my pet's best interest in mind. The staff are all very friendly and caring, their prices are very reasonable, the facilities are nice and clean, and they even have separate entrances and exam rooms for dogs and cats. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have primarily used Boones Creek Animal Hospital for boarding my two dogs. The staff seem very friendly and knowledgeable. They are able to answer any questions that I may have. On a few instances I have requested extra services or needs for my dogs while they were boarded and they were able to accomodate my request. Also, on one occasion a test needed to be performed on one of my dogs due to a lump I had noticed. The test was ran and the doctor called me back within 10 minutes to discuss the results. All in all I am very satisfied at this time and would recommend them to others.

Office staff does not know how to pass messages on correctly! There have been a few occasions where I leave detailed messages and the receptionist there never gets the message right. This is very frustrating! Especially when you spend so much time explaining things and they still don't get passed on correctly so you have to start all over again with the next person the next day. This last time the the receptionist got my message all screwed up, I got frustrated and said this has happened before. I never lost my temper but was polite when I said this. Due to this I received a letter in the mail from the office manager and they don't want me or my pets to come back...just for being frustrated because the staff never relays messages correctly! This has never happened to me anywhere before and I have many pets and have used many vets in different states. There is something wrong with this office for them to dismiss me because of my frustration with them never able to relay messages correctly. They should look more closely at their staff and their inability to pass messages on correctly. Instead I get punished because of this, very upsetting and frustrating!
