I can't say enough positive things about this place and it was a godsend. Just got a new blue heeler puppy and he is the second dog I've taken to Belle Forest Animal Hospital. I had been bringing my dog here for his first initial puppy visits and when he had an ear infection. Then this morning I called at 7am because I found a worm in his stool. They said to email them a picture. After not hearing back I called again and they said they were extremely busy. Two hours later still nothing! As I sit here now at 6:15 pm I still have not heard back from them. Luckily, I found another vet who helped immediately!

Every once in a while we'll try a new vet clinic, but we always end up going back to Belle Forest. Not everyone has a veterinarian like Dr. Talbott.

I have been taking my cats to this clinic for over 20 years. The staff are always kind and pleasant. I have had the pleasure of working with all of the vets, Kim, Mike and Darinda, all of whom are extremely caring and are the best vets around. Mike Pritchard took great care of my first two (now deceased) cats, and euthanized them for me, all with great compassion. I now have 5 cats, and all of them get the best care at Belle Forest Animal Clinic. I consider them to be the best in Nashville!!

I chose this vet because of the wonderful reviews left by others, but I cannot express the depth of my disappointment. I took my rat in with what seemed like a respiratory infection causing weight loss and difficulty breathing. The vet who saw us spent maybe five minutes in the room, just long enough to listen to his chest and prescribe an antibiotic. He seemed to be in a pretty big rush. When we left there was a cute dog waiting. I couldn't shake the feeling that my rat's health had been deemed less valuable. I understand being busy, but my rat means just as much to me as anyones cute little puppy does to them. The med the vet perscribed was supposed to last two weeks, but within a week of giving the exact dosage, it was gone. When I called I was told that I probably just "lost it to the bottle". I highly doubt an entire weeks worth of treatment was absorbed into a plastic bottle. I was perscribed another med and told to call back in a week. I did not get the chance to call because on the night of Christmas I found my rat unable to breathe. He died, and I brought him back with CPR/rescue breathing twice before realizing he simply could not breathe on his own. My prescious rat turned blue and died in my hands. Based on the sound his lungs made during rescue breathing, he had been dying of pneumonia. The emotional distress of this experience will probably scar me for the rest of my life. I have nightmares everytime I sleep, and I feel distrustful of veterinarians as they seem unable to see past my rats' hairless tails and beady little eyes even though they are bursting with love and affection behind them. The vets here are not bad people. They are probably fine if you have a cute puppy or kitten, but if you have a sweet little rodent, I recommend that you go elsewhere to be treated with true concern. I personally will be finding another exotic vet for my remaining babies.

If you have ANY exotic pet, or really any type of pet in general, I highly recommend Dr. Talbott. I have three guinea pigs, and one got sick back in the beginning of November with an infection that is hard to cure in guinea pigs. This infection led to him not eating for TWO months. Maybe even over two months, I honestly lost count because it was so long. Dr. Talbott did something that I have never really witnessed another doctor ever do for my guinea pigs. He NEVER gave up hope. He told me to continue the force feeding and he would email me almost every day he was in the office to read my updates and tell me where to go from there and what else to be doing. I am so blessed to have finally found a doctor who cares about the animals as much as the clients do!

My 3 year old dog,James, was very sick and getting worse fast. My regular vet had been running test for 3 weeks with no improvement. Unable to watch him decline anymore I called Leslye at Belle Forest Animal Hospital on the referral from a friend, to see if he thought we were on the right track. Leslye and Dr Talbot called my vet for my dogs records and worked in that same day. They stayed late to meet with us and were clearly concerned for my dog. Dr Talbot didn't offer to run any tests or draw any additional labs, he essentially told me to get out of there and get my dog to a specialist ASAP. The next day my dog and I were at the specialist and an MRI exposed a large inoperable tumor on my dogs spinal cord. If it weren't for the knowledge and honesty of Dr Talbot I am positive my dog and I would still be at my regular vet, running more tests and ruling out yet another gastrointestinal disease. I owe the peace of mind that I get from knowing my sweet James isn't suffering anymore to Dr Talbot and Leslye. If the future ever has another 4 legged friend in store for me I will bring them here, no doubt about it.

All 3 of my family's dogs are rescues. Teddy the first one came of animal control. Very scared at first. This place was has been very comforting since the first moment. Any problems or questions we have had they fixed. They have also had no problems with walk-ins. It's been wonderful. My wife's mother lives in texas but was here with us with two of her dogs. One of her dogs came with directions from her vet. The dog looked very unhealthy. Belle forest fixed him. Thank you for that and thank you for everything you guys do.

We were stunned at our horrible experience at this clinic after reading so many good reviews and having a decent experience there about 16 years ago. My son had moved to Nashville with his 3 cats about 6 months ago and had not found a vet yet. One of our 1.5 year old neutered male catswho up until Sat. June 15 seemed fine. He refused dinner although he came to the feeding area at feeding time to eat. Sunday morning he didnot get up at all. Monday I took him to Belle Forest clinic. The vet said she was sure with such a high fever it had to be a blodd parasite (even though I insisted there was virtually no possiblity of exposure to fleas or ticks.)$202.00. We were told someone would call and check on Percy over the next few days. No one did. He did not seem any better on Thursday, so we took him back in. Temp. had not gone down at all. We had to see a different vet because of scheduling. She was still insistent on the blood parasite from flea or tick idea even though I ask if it could possibly be anything else since we were sure there no fleas or ticks in his environment. She wanted to keep trying to treat for blood parasite and changed the medicine. That was $130.00. Friday I reported that he had peed outside of the box, brought in a smaple of it and picture...., and said he was much worse and not eating either. Still they wanted to stick on this unreasonable diagnosis and said his temp was down 1 degree. Saturday he could not even stand up so I brought him back in. Because it was abusy sat we were told they would do a $129.00 blood test but we would have to wait until they closed to get the results. A technician was cmoning in and out of the room giving us conflicting info about diseases and treatments. Then finally at about 1:30 the vet came in and announced our cat was in total kidney and liver failure and would probably not make it. We did take the referral to Nashville vet specialist and took him their sat. night. $2100.00 later, we put our cat to sleep (something I have never had to do...and now its 3 days later and we still dont know what was wrong with him.We were impressed with nashville vet specialist ( they seemed so much more knowledgeable and skilled at explaning things than the vets and techs at belle forest. (I guess that is why it cost so much)...Anyway, you would have thought that the vet maight have showed some interest afterwrods, like did you lose your cat or find out what s wrong, but non one from Bellee Forest bothered to call us for followup. We now have a bunch of medicine that we paid for that is useless. I would not recommend ths vet clinic if you value your pet's life. This was a very painful experience and was made worse by the misdiagnosis and lack of followup. I will say that once they told us our cat was dying, they did not rush us out and gave u s about an hour to decide whether we would go to the emergency vet or euthanize there...and of course they obligingly gave us the price list for euthanasia and disposal of remains....And of course we were thankful for the referral to Nashville Vet Specialist. They were extremely skilled and so much more compassionate than Belle Forest staff.
