I appreciate the peace of mind that because they are both my dogs primary vets and the emergency room. When my pup, Sirius, broke his foot one night I brought him in and they took great care of him. All his subsequent check ups were done at the same place too which made everything easier. Plus, look at that cast.

Dr.Heitmann did a surgery on our puppy that was told should be done at University of MN. I can't value high enough the love, compassion and professional care that was given. They also accommodated us beings we lived 4 hrs from here. Thanks again..would so highly recommend them!

I had brought my 12 year old Miniature Pinscher Ricky in for his first teeth cleaning and tooth extraction. Dr. Carlson was so wonderful!!! I really can't express the gratitude we have for her helping him. The surgery went really good and Ricky recovered very fast! He is no longer in pain and his breath does not smell!! They tell you the truth and do not recommend things that are not necessary. Prices are the best I have found in town yet!! Very friendly staff EVERYWHERE! I will never bring my dog anywhere else again! Thank you All City Pet Care South!!

A really great example of what a vet/animal hospital should be like. The staff, Dr. Heitman are really just phenomenal with our dog "Bo". They treat a dog or animal like we would want them to be treated...very gentle, not pushy or forceful. Very genuine and friendly environment where you never feel pushed in or out. I would recommend these guys for any pet need or exam. I would especially recommend this place if you've had a bad experience at another pet hospital/vet and are leery of trying someplace new. This place really is refreshing, love this place! Reasonable prices as well.

I had to go to All City in the middle of the night due to my dog ingesting a very large dose of xylitol. She convulsed and was non-responsive the whole way from Vermillion, SD to Sioux Falls, SD. It was the longest hour of my life (thanks to one lane construction). She had to stay for two and a half days to recover but she made it to the clear like a champ. No lasting liver damage or otherwise. I was a blubbering mess when we arrived and could barely think. They were patient, honest, and kind. They kept reassuring me that if I was worried I could call anytime for an update. Obviously this wasn't a cheap snack for Bailey (my dog), but All City didn't do any more than they needed to drive up the price at all. Very honest. When we picked her up the vet came out and spoke with me to make sure I understood her home care to wrap up her recovery. I couldn't have asked for a better experience during a time of crisis. 10/10 recommend. Now if only there were an emergency vet closer to Vermillion!!!

All City Pet Care South has been my vet for my two cats. I trust them with regular check ins as well as emergency care. My male cat had issues with bladder infections, and they patiently worked through the options (and weeks!) it took to get him back on track. They are gentle, the location is quiet and calming, and Dr. Carlson is wonderful! She provides options and insight and is always ready to check in with other experts to make sure she has the best recommendations to offer. Highly recommend them to take care of your furry family!

I brought my dog in on a early Sunday morning. My dog had been sick all night and I was in a panic when I arrived. The staff was kind, patient, and compassionate with me and took the best care of my dog who had to stay in the hospital. They always gave me peace of mind by always giving me updates on his condition and letting me visit him. Not to mention when pick up day came the bill was much cheaper than I thought it would be. This place truly cares about the animals in their care, if I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I relocated to Sioux Falls less than a week ago. One of my little ones did not do too well in the move and starting having issues. I needed have her checked, but was not sure where to take her. I spent countless hours reviewing Vet Clinics in the area, including online reviews. All had good and bad. From my research, I decided on All City South. I am beyond glad I did! I was incredibly impressed with how thorough and knowledgeable Dr. Klatt was- even down to checking for any neurological issues/signs. Sam, vet tech, was just as impressive. The entire staff was kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. The affordability of the clinic was also a nice surprise. All City South will definitely be the new Veterinary Clinic for my little fur babies.

He came in with head trama, was on the o2 chamber for a few days before being transfered to the U of M for an MRI were we stayed for a few days and found out he had had 2 strokes. Doctors seem great, but they are in it for the money more than anything and thats very clear after spending over $400 their in the last couple weeks runnjng tests that they had recommended and still no results on whats wrong with my pup. Her first time in was emergancy and we have since went back during normal buisness hours.

I have never felt pressured by the staff to go one route over another; they always answer my questions and provided me with the information that's needed to make a decision. My daughter's cat was sick and I was told about All City Pet Care Veterinary Emergency Hospital. I called them and they told us to bring Midnight in as a walk-in as they are also a regular vet clinic in addition to being open 24 hours as a vet emergency hospital. We got there and they took him right in. They found out that Midnight had a urinary tract infection which was quickly and efficiently taken care of. They were very kind and compassionate towards my daughter and to Midnight. It was a good experience for us all and they will be taking care of Midnight and our other cat, a kitten my daughter named Mitten from now on. I've always been very happy with the care here. I've been bringing my pets here for about 12 years. Dr. Heitmann is a great vet and always takes all the time necessary to explain the issues and options. It can be rather expensive, so getting estimates is a good idea. The high level of care makes it worthwhile in my opinion.

We took our cat here late at night, at the recommendation of our regular vet. It was an emergency, though we didn't know what was wrong with her yet. Ultimately, she did not make it. However, they tried to save her and figure out the problem. During her 4 days in the hospital, the staff was overall very helpful and communicative. They even allowed us to visit late because we had to drive down from Brookings each night. Dr. Teachout admitted her, and he was the one who put her to sleep. We will always be grateful for his honesty and his respect for our cat. The vet techs were also compassionate and respectful. The compassion offered by the staff here made one of the hardest experiences of my life a little easier and we both will always be grateful for that. Thank you for letting us spend so much time with her before the end and thank you for trying to save our girl.

We went in on a Saturday night at 8pm. It was super busy and all their rooms were full. We thought it was going to be a while but they got us in very quickly and took great care of our dog. The staff was super friendly and nice.

I had a so so experience with this place. Although I do not place blame on them for the passing of my dog I do think they could have prevented it. I had brought my dog in the first time due to co plocations and long story short The first vet said she would do everything they could (which they didn’t). My real problem lies with the vet that works overnights. He told me I could bring my dog home because he was doing better. I asked him over and over and over again if he was sure and he said it would be less stressful for my dog( I agree) however I don’t think that was the best choice but I still brought him home. He got worse over the next two days and I brought him back to the emergency vet yet again. I told them he wasn’t eating, constantly throwing up, ONVIOUSLY. Or doing well that one of his throw ups smelt very bad and was red (what I thought was blood). They ignored that. They took him in again. Later that night they told me he went into cardiac arrest and that they couldn’t do anything more. My problem lies with the fact that the first time I brought my dog in they said they would run tests and do X-rays and ultrasounds however they never did it. And I don’t understand why because I told them I was sure it was an intestinal blockage but they ignored me. I am sure if they would’ve done what I asked he would have lived. My dog was my everything and I just think This clinic was not very professional nor did they take my wants into consideration. My dog is dead and I cannot comfortable step foot into this place again ( a side note, when I went to pick up his ashes the woman at the desk was not at all consoling and she laughed as she gave them to me. Shouldn’t work at a veterinary clinic if you can’t deal with clients appropriately)

I'm writing this review so others can know how my pets were treated here. I have two little, I mean really little dogs. First visit: wellness checks(history & allergies reviewed), vaccines(full dose despite my concern), very expensive. My second visit was prompted b/c Dr Heitman refused to call me back or talk on the phone about trying different antihistamines, so instead of a three minute phone call to discuss things, I came to the office for a $80 charge & 5 minutes of time. While there they wanted to give more vaccines to my littlest dog, but I said no due to his bad reaction from the first-I was told I was breaking the law, but I was just protecting him because his allergies were slightly flaring up at that time (more allergies=larger reaction). They will never know why I didn't let them vaccinate him that day, because no one asked, or called, or checked on them; even the vet tech that day didn't inquired about how the vaccines went or if he had a reaction? To top it off the new dosage of antihistamine was double the safe dose for his weight?! With such small dogs these things are crucial. This was not a complex issue, but could have turned into a very critical situation for my pet. When I have to be the one standing up for what is best for my pet in a vet clinic & any advice requires $; its time to find a new place. I even called the manager Susan to try & resolve this issue and the concerns I had with my pets care. She stated she was listening to my concerns, but I only received canned answers; similar to the responses on here. Additionally she was kind of rude, and uncaring about what had happened. I was just trying to make her aware so these things didn't get missed & happen to anyone else's pet. I said it was negligent to not follow up on my dogs vaccines, or ensuring the correct dose was given; she said "you said negligent, does that mean you are going to sue us, if that's so I can't speak with you anymore, that is what I have been told to do". It was then that I realized she had not heard a word I had said. The only reason my pets won't be returning to All City Pet Care South is because their health didn't come first there.

Everyone was very friendly but I did feel like it was way overpriced. I got my dog neutered and a microchip and it cost $360. The chip was $61, which means $300 just to get him neutered. I asked around and everyone else said they spent between $100-200 so I don't think I'll be staying with this vet.

Absolute bs. Called the night before and ask how much rewraping a splint would be. They said $25. I needed to get it wrapped but it's a Sunday so no one is open. So I go to get it rewrapped and here and after its said and done they tell me oh sorry it's now $50. Charged me for a large when it's a medium size splint. For this price I could have bought an actual brace. Worst service I've had anywhere in a long time. Lied to me just to get another $25 after it was done. Complete and uder BS. Waste of time and money.

I love this place! The vets are so knowledgeable and caring, making sure I know exactly what is happening with my dog! Major plus that I was able to schedule my appt online. I work overnights, so calling isn't always an option for me. I was also able to set it up for 730am, which is perfect for when I get off work. Even though she had to get some shots, the entire team did a great job of caring for her and making her feel at ease. She left with a wagging tail and giant smile. The vet also gave me some tips to help care for my dog's sensitive skin during these cold winter months. Super happy and appreciative of the team at All City!

They really don't care about pets here at all. As long as they are getting paid they act like they care, but ask for another inch & you won't receive it (no follow up from previous visits, no vets ever call you back). They were not helpful & actually endangered the health of my fur babies. The manager is aware & never received a response from them; so if I receive one on here it is definitely for show. You couldn't pay me to take my pets back there!

Earlier this summer, my dog suffered from a ruptured spleen and went in for emergent surgery. The staff at All City was very diligent and caring. They gave us all the facts upfront and prepared us for the worst but did their best work. I never doubted that our dog, who is more our baby, was being treated like he was their own. All of the staff made a terrifying situation more manageable.

Ended up at All City because there is no one in Sioux City that will see animals that aren't "regular clients" after hours. Our primary vet referred us to All City. Dr. Toth was great with our dog. He came in with seizures, and they took care of him right away. Everyone from the front desk to the vet tech to Dr. Toth was amazing and kind. They called to update us frequently on his condition. I wouldn't hesitate to take my animals here again.

Appt. day I whisper softy into my sleeping dog's ear Mike and Mary Jo and it's like she is shot out of a cannon! I have many dogs and I have done lots and lots of rescue situations for every type of animal particularly dogs for many years and I can tell you NO WHERE has ever helped me so much as this place. When they could not help me with my main dog or my number one dog they referred me to Minnesota and they connected me to all the reference places I needed and doctors and helped me transition to Minneapolis to the University of Minnesota. I have brought in many rescue dogs where I was unsure of so many things and they helped me bring many dogs back to perfect health. I had another dog who was my baby and she had a very terrible brain injury accident and left her literally I thought was going to die within minutes and they put her in the hyperbaric chamber and they made her comfortable and they let me sit with her and holder and visit all night and needless to say on day 4 she got to come home. This place has helped me tremendous and I love that it is 24 hours and I love that I can come in at any time and I do often.

Went here twice. Both times for my same dog. First time they tried saying he has a broken back and needed surgery from either a non-certified surgeon or double the price for a certified one. Went to my vet the next day to find out it was just a thyroid issue. Second time i fork over $600 for them to tell me that they don't know whats wrong and then my dog dies overnight. This place wants your money not your happiness.

"Emergency" Pet Hospital is a joke. Took our cat there who was having stroke/seizure like symptoms and could barely walk. No sense of urgency; lady at front desk just sat there holding her own dog and didn't seem to really care what was going on with our cat. Then we were told there would be a one hour wait, even though the parking lot was empty and no one else was there. Also, there is a $100 walk in charge for you to sit and wait for that hour, so if your cat dies during that wait time you are out of $100 and a family member. Wouldn't take a dead dog here.

Staff is great. No problem there. However had signed up for wellness plan $60 a month. They charged my card 7 time in 1 day then done nothing to fix it. Then when late on a payment due to card being over the limit complained and tried to charge $60 everyday for a month and a half then threatened me with collections. Needless to say my dogs are going else where now.

Obviously having a sick or injured animal is an unpleasant experience overall, but the staff were efficient and friendly and it went much more smoothly than it could have.

Not the worst place I've been but glad I switched to another clinic. Might be better if I had a dog or cat but with a rat, I didn't totally trust their judgement. When my baby began to decline, I tried to call to ask for another option (having only tried 1 medication combination) and was told the only exotic vet was out until Friday and I'd just have to wait until then (it was a monday morning). None of the other vets "felt comfortable" with dosing a small animal. It took about 5 minutes with my new vet to have a plan, a new medication combination, and a more hopeful (yet realistic) outlook.

I just moved to the area, and I had to bring my 12-week old Mini Goldendoodle to the ER and she was admitted. Without knowing any businesses in town, I was nervous to go to someone new. However, I had a very good experience. The vet (Heidi) was very nice, listened to me, and was very caring towards my puppy. She made sure I understood the plan of care, and was not pushy with treatments. They only did the necessary labs and treatment. It was nice that they gave you an estimate of what everything was going to cost before you agreed to everything. The vet techs and receptionists were very helpful and nice as well. The vet tech that discharged us was very thorough. Overall, I highly recommend this place if anybody needs to seek emergency care!

My dog was sick and this was the only place We could take him on the weekend. They did not stop till they figured out what it was. They also called to check on him after. Great doctors and staff.

The pro: open 24 hours! Which is great in an emergency situation The con's: we waited 2 hours after bringing our cat in, before they came up with a treatment plan and after that wait, we are paying over $1,000... Everything is overpriced here.

I have been taking both my cat and dog (both rescues) to see Dr. Heitman for over a year now. Last year, my cat broke her leg and Dr. Heitman worked with us over the course of several months to help her heal. He was patient, provided free follow ups, and was generally concerned about her wellness. He inquires about her every time I bring the dog in too. Both my pets have had strange skin issues, which Dr. Heitman has helped us resolve. He is also very patient with my high-strung pit bull, who is not overly appreciative of vaccinations. Whenever we have an issue, he explains what the problem is or could be, the varying options available to approach the issue, the costs and time involved in each, and which he would recommend. I have never once felt like he, or any of the staff, was "just interested in my money," they genuinely show care and know my individual animals. They always have a separate room ready and waiting for my very enthusiastic dog when we come in, since he doesn't do well just sitting in the waiting room. The entire staff has been friendly and accommodating of both my schedule and my very special animals. I appreciate all their efforts, and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I took my cat Fritz in late on Wed. afternoon, April 17, without an appointment. We were very quickly taken to an exam room and vet tech Miguel showed up almost at once and Dr Schochenmaier came in a few minutes later. Fritzie received very good care, as have all of the cats we've taken to ACPC over the years. Very grateful for this excellent clinic!

This is the second time I’ve brought my dog to All City and both times I’ve had such a great experience. All staff is SO caring and helpful! I had to call several times after we left for questions and each time they took the extra time to make sure I was taken care of.

These people do some incredible work! I came in a few months ago with a puppy who turned sick rapidly over the weekend. Had it not been for the amazing team here she would not be alive today. They were so great at updating me frequently during her stay and giving her lots of love. It is so great to have an emergency clinic in Sioux Falls that works so hard! I can't complain about a single thing during our experience. The prices are very fair considering the all nighters and amount of staff that they need to run a 24/7 clinic. Thank you All City South!!!
