I have been with Wateree vet. Hospital since I moved to ELGIN SC in July of 2007 at that time I had three dogs two cats. I have since had to put 1 cat & 2 dogs down in that first group after that I brought two more dogs in and another cat so over the years I have had several animals that have gone to Wateree we have seen many changes over the years including staff, doctors, price increases and building upgrades etc... the staff & doctors have always been great, caring, helpful just loved my pets as if they were their own....I however have been telling them for years on surveys in person whenever opportunities have presented that they charge way too much I like most pet owners live paychk to paychk barely getting raises ourselves yet Wateree won’t even budge on their fees won’t give multiple pet discounts years of loyalty discounts nothing just keep going higher and higher every year. I just dropped $400. On two annual dog exams now they want me to schedule dental on both dog’s with an estimate of $894. per dog With no extractions as they charge per tooth, type of tooth and difficulty of extraction can range from $26.25, $52.50 & $76.50 so one of my dogs has a grade 4 dental which means I’m going to be dropping over $1100.00 for teeth cleaning and extractions...then any meds pain/antibiotics. Basically in order for both my babies to get teeth cleaned and any extractions I will need approx. $2200 to $2500. Wow I’m done paying out the ying yang w/no appreciation coming my way DONE!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love the fact this place has all the bells and whistles. They are AAHA accredited and have almost every type of treatment available you can think of. Friendly very knowledgeable staff as well. I fully understand that all the extra fancy treatments they offer come with a substantial price tag. HOWEVER if I'm not looking for all the extra I should have the option to just get the basics, what's actually necessary and pay for these services only. I picked up a stray pit bull and have been trying to find him a home and keep him out of shelters where he might be euthanized. Everyone I have come across just wants to breed him. To avoid this I called my local vet (wateree) to see about vaccines and a neuter. They WILL NOT do a neuter without a $130 "wellness exam" so they can get to know the dog (that will probably never be back) and a simple non invasive neuter procedure would cost anywhere between $187-$308!!! For a poor pup i just want to help find a home for!! They were talking about laser healing treatments and all the "justifications" for the cost. Absurd. After this I called other local vets that would keep him overnight for FREE and the surgery and vaccines would only cost about $120. Perspective.

New to Camden area and moving my two dogs to a new provider and discovered WAH. Very welcoming front reception area. Staff really friendly and professional. Waiting area is comfortable and spread out to allow pets to "behave" and relax. The doctor and tech staff easy to talk with and listen to your concerns. My pets care has been great. Only a couple visits and feel very confident in their care of my pets. Doggies have found their new doc!

This has been our Vet practice forever! The staff are super polite and thoughtful, the Vets are equally polite and consider our feeling in tough situations, like when we had to put down our beloved 14- year old Lab a few years ago. This place is always spotless and it has yard space with poop bags and trash cans for when your pup just can't wait after being in a car. Follow-up calls after exams and treatments are added kindnesses.

Wonderful place. Staff is helpful and friendly. Doctors are friendly talk to you not down to you. They make sure you understand everything before you leave. We have gone to them with emergencies and have never been told to wait. Have always been kept informed as to how dogs are doing while at their facility.
