Our Basenji, Pippin, broke his hind leg when he tried to jump onto the bed. It was a horrible spiral fracture, and his bone was in pieces. Because our dog is ten years old, we were afraid that he could not be successfully treated, but thanks to Dr. West's experience and his excellent orthopedic skills, Pippin's broken bone was repaired. We are so grateful that just by chance the vet we chose when we first moved to Moncks Corner had such a remarkable surgeon on staff. I can't say enough good things about Dr. West and his staff, for making it possible to have our "baby" with us for a few more years. They are great people!

Today was my very first experience with Dr Jones and his staff and I have to say that experience was phenomenal considering the circumstances. Brandy at the front desk didn’t even hesitate to get my cat an appointment the same day, even though he was new to the practice. Dr Jones and his tech were very compassionate and helpful in making the right decisions for my fur baby. All around great experience with the staff that I came in contact with the price was very reasonable. I have found a new vet for all my fur babies, for sure!

Most of my experiences here have been awesome. It depends on: * Which doc you see * Which tech that does the intake * Which front desk person you interact with. The expansion has a positive side and a negative side. In my experience with vet care costs their prices for annual care can’t be beat. Their prices for medications and other medical care are comparable to or less than my experiences at other Veterinary care clinics.

After 20+ years and many thousands of dollars, I have made my last visit to this establishment. Had an emergency this morning, called to let them know we were on the way, then arrived and we were told to have a seat and wait. I watched 3 routine appointments be taken back while my extremely sick, emergent dog sat in the waiting room. I had to express my frustrations in the presence of their other customers to get my dog assessed. I was told they were very busy and it might be a better idea if I took my pet to another vet. After all of the time and money I have invested as a customer here, I would expect better treatment during an emergency. Apparently they have expanded to the point that they are too busy to be concerned about losing their loyal customers. Please do yourself and your pets a favor and find a CARING vet office. It most certainly isn’t Lakeside.

I took my dog there I've spent 405 so far and owe 170 my dog no better and getting a whole lot worse and I'm not getting help from doc cause I've not paid up and there not getting more cash was told they'd work with me but they can only help if I'm up to date on my cash to them and only bear min was done cause I'm not staked with cash and was told my dog has tumor and could heal they give false hope knowing there not doing all they can to save your pet so screw that place it's a money pit that only helps if your rich

My dog got hurt and I’m not working at the moment they called me with all pricing and updates as the day went on. The vet even called me after hours to make sure all my questions were answered. The office staff called a few days later to see how he was doing. They were all very friendly and nice to me. I highly recommend this place. Can’t say enough good things about them.

They are very polite and caring. They also give you choices and prices before they do everything. A couple of Years ago They've saved 1 of our hunting dogs that got cut by a hog. Ive been here many times. My sweet boy another dog had to be put asleep and they came to my SUV where he was comfortable on his blanket. Lakeside Animal Hospital is full of lovely ladies. The reception area is very spacious, which I think is great. Dr. Strong has continuously monitored my baby, Addy, and is helping us with her diabetic situation. Dr. Evans has also been involved with Addy's care. Dr. Strong and Dr. Evans will call me with results and provide me with detailed information and instructions. I'm so happy that I decided to take a chance when I changed veterinarians. I have never regretted my decision. The staff is super always super friendly. If I have a question that they don't know the answer to, they advise me that they forwarded my concern to the back. Inevitably, I receive a call from either Dr. Strong or Dr. Evans.

i took my 10 year old/100lb lab in for walking and eating problems. it took them 3 hours to do this appointment by the way...they sent me home with meloxicam and said it was arthritus. i called a week later and said there was no improvement and she said i could bring her in to put her on a metabolic diet. at this point my dog could barely walk and didn't want to eat or drink and they knew this. i trusted them unfortunately at their word and three days later, my little girl lost use of her bodily functions and it broke my heart. her left leg swelled within 3 hours double its size and she started breathing eradicatly. it was sunday so i took her to the ER and she was put to sleep that afternoon. DONT take your best friend here. I lost mine too soon because I did. They can shove their metabolic diet where the sun don't shine... i read the reveiws on that too and am apalled that theyw ould even suggest it. negligence on their part cause me my best friend. or at least prolonged the suffering of my best friend when she could have rested in peace but instead she dies a drug out painful death.

Lakeside Animal Hospital has been a blessing for Barney (kitty) who is 8 yrs old. Since moving to this area in June 2016 Barney came down with a terrible skin condition that was treated as a food allergy. Since no improvement and skin breaking out with sores/losing hair fast it took some research. I want to thank Dr. Johnson who was able to diagnose his illness which is not common in cats and was able to act immediately. Since then Barney has been improving but will be on meds from now on. Thank you Dr. West and Dr. Strong who also have been treating Barney. Communication has been great and staff is awesome. I have 6 more kitty's that are seen there as well! I'm so happy to be near such an awesome Animal Hospital I trust!

I’m so frustrated and disappointed with this vet especially after seeing their ratings. The ladies up front were rude (they called my husband an idiot) and never got our bill right on the first try. We took our German Shepherd to Dr. West because he had a couple of sores between his toes and he determined that our dog Lucky needed surgery and a biopsy to ensure it wasn’t an autoimmune disease or something worse. It sounded serious so we agreed to it. He did the procedure and taped his paw (tape right on his skin) to make sure Lucky wouldn’t aggravate the stitches. Well, the tape irritated his skin and actually made the entire paw worse. Over $1000 later and a lot of pain to our poor dog, the sores came back two weeks after the surgery. We decided to take him to another vet who kindly told us we were taken advantage of and that it’s a fungus that needs a quick course of antibiotics and anti-fungal medicine. Sure enough, the sores started disappearing three days after seeing the new vet (Goose Creek Vet - I highly recommend them). I also called and asked about my other animals vaccines because I had a feeling they had vaccines coming up but the ladies up front assured me they were all up to date. Well it turns out our other dog was past due on 3 vaccines and her heart worm test (again I recommend Goose Creek Vet). We’ve never had such terrible service.

I brought my dog to Lakeside a few weeks ago. When I got there it was quick service. I thought "this place is great" it didn't take long for me to realize the nurses were really pretentious and acted like they knew what was wrong with my dog with little to no check up. A woman came in to hold my dog while they drew blood and she didn't even speak to me AT ALL. Very disrespectful. The sad thing is my family has been using this vet for over 10 years. I will no longer go back to them and will make sure to spread the word about my horrible experience. I do have to give props to the dr. She was very kind and listened to everything I had to say. She even worked with me on the price. I would rate this place with half a star if I had the option. I called management and let them know my experience and they were very sorry I had to go through that.

I have a very large Lab they take time check him thoroughly during his exams. I also feel the Drs there really care. I have received calls after Baloo has had to be treated just to make sure he is doing ok. My medical drs don't call to check on me after a visit. They are #1 in my book.

Still love this place. I took a pet I was watching because she wasn't acting well. Their office visit was very reasonable as were their tests. We were in and out quickly even with a unscheduled appointment. They were great with the dog and made her feel as comfortable as possible. All turned out well. She had a UTI and they even had antibiotics on hand that were less expensive than my own. The owner was very pleased as well when I told her. Thank you for having such a great team and helping when I needed it! I recommend them highly.

Our dog Tebow was treated by Dr. Jones for an unknown disease starting 9/1/16. Dr. Jones really took time with us, trying to go over what was going on blood wise. He took great care of Tebow while he was hospitalized for 2 nights, even calling at 8pm for an update. Money was a major factor for us, and he was only charging us 1/2 price for most of the procedures done and even doing free ultrasounds. He was baffled, as was 3 other vets, as to what was going on with our beloved pet. We spent well around $1200.00 for this unknown disease and ultimately the death of our very loved friend. All in saying we paid a lot for no cure or even a diagnosis, but we were treated kindly and most importantly the Dr did what he was able for what he knew was going on. Thank you Dr. Jones.

My family had an outside stray Heminway cat adopt us a couple of months ago. Over the last twenty four hours, he became lethargic, wouldn't eat, and started having labored breathing. This morning, he couldn't move. I drove him to Lakeside, and as soon as I walked in, told the staff that he wasn't breathing well, and a staff member immediately rushed over to take him to the back to be examined. Unfortunately, he had already had liver failure, and he didn't make it. The fact that the staff took immediate action, and was extremely sympathetic means everything to a person who loves animals. I went to Lakeside at the recommendation of two people, one who also takes her pets there, and one who, coincidentally enough, has a daughter who is one of the veterinarians there. I would recommend this office to anyone who has an animal they love. Thank you, Lakeside Animal Hospital staff.

I am sorry to read that some customers/patients have had such a long wait. My family has been going to Lakeside for 3 years now seeing Dr. Strong, and not once have we had to wait more than 15 minutes, even when I had to come in for an emergency. The staff has always been more than friendly and accommodating, and very calm with my animals. I've found the prices to be more than fair, you get compassionate and knowledgeable employees, and Doctors who seem to be very happy to see you and your pets, well, maybe mostly the pets :) Overall, I would recommend Lakeside to anyone who is after above par care for their animals.

Lakeside "accidentally" vaccinated my 5 pound Pomeranian twice with a 3 year rabies vaccine , once on July 9th of this year, and again today, August 20. Was not given a refund on either vaccine, even though I never requested the second one. Was told the second vaccine cost was included in the cost of the exam. Called the emergency animal hospital in North Charleston to verify that my dog would not suffer any ill effects from Lakeside's carelessness. The doctors are always very pleasant and nice.....not sure who was responsible for checking medical records before administering a vaccine. If they had asked us when she last had one, we could have told them, it had only been a little over a month. Can't afford to take another chance, the next mistake might be fatal.
