The veterinary business of love, knowledge, and skill of The Ambassador Animal Hospital has been my chosen veterinary location for well for over 17 years! That also computes as 2 golden retrievers, 12 cats , a pregnant dog dumped out in my neighborhood, her 2 puppies(6 year old now) and a lot of rescues that found homes. Also, Drs Joe and Erin Trimmer has see us through 2 injuries from being hit by a car, a dog with enlarged hesrt,skin problems, weight issues(too heavey....that golden weighed 102), the other golden was diagnosed by them and sent to specialty clinic with a cancerous tumor in his heart. He lived longer than specialist ever thought under the care of drs. Trimmer! He was given 2 days to 3 months.....he lived a very guslity life for almost 4 more years. Died at age 15. And the cats that Ambassador has diagnosed with issues? Well they have ranged from thyroid issues, rare kidney disease, kidney stones. Cancerous tumor in shoulder that lead to the amazing removal of his front leg. And ....they have such compassion for not only the pets but the pet owners as well! They go above and beyond any care that you get now a days for pets and humans. Their respect for life , animal and human is stellar!! Their regard for quality life, for pain management when life ahead is full, their great ability to discern and guide in the event of life situation is so wise and loving. Obviously, I believe in this veterinary wisdom and skill and trust them to leave no stone unturned with diagnoses and treatment as well as just keeping my pet family happy and healthy! Dr. Hallbeck (or whatever her name is) charged me $700 total (including medication) for my sick cat and then couldn’t tell me what was wrong with my cat. Then two weeks later my cat got sick again, they couldn’t figure out what was wrong (again), and they charged me (again) despite the complete lack of answers. They even tried to get me to send off for blood work again. I will never come back here and I will tell everyone I know with pets to avoid this horrible place. Dr. Hallbeck should be let go. Horrible.

Nothing is more personal to a family than who You let take care of your children & pets. The team at Ambassador Animal Hospital are simply the best and we trust them fully with our two dogs & our daughters "snow dog". One of our dogs has a tendency to snap at anybody other than us. My pets have always received professional service from the vets and staff. They are friendly and competent. Scheduling appointments is easy and there is never a long wait time. My cat had been to three vets before he was correctly diagnosed by Dr. Erin Trimmier. There is really a true concern for the welfare of your pet. The reception area as well as exam rooms are very clean and sometimes Shadow or Smash will greet you. They are a cut above the others.

Early on I was very happy with both the atmosphere and care my pets received at Ambassador. However, as my pets aged and began to have serious health problems, Ambassador veterinarians seemed to be uncertain and inexperienced in recognizing and diagnosing more complex health problems. I boarded my toy poodle (16 yrs) at Ambassabor during a business trip and picked her up on a Saturday morning in April of last year. She began producing a very bloody stool within minutes of getting her home. This continued and it became clear she was weak. My daughter and I rushed her the emergency clinic on Two Notch and the veterinarian there informed us that she had lost so much blood and that her body temperature was so low that he was uncertain if she would survive. She died there at the clinic. My family was devastated and I had a moment of doubt about whether or not this condition could have gone unnoticed hours earlier at Ambassador. Because of my past exceptional experience, I continued taking my pets to Ambassador. I took my 20 year old cat in for a routine visit and to evaluate the onset of incontinence and lethargy. The treating veterinarian examined her, administered her vaccines, and went and got another vet to come in and examine her. They told me they could both feel a mass, gave me some pain medication and another medication that I can't recall, and I scheduled an appointment for a re-check in a couple of weeks. When I took her back I told the Dr. that her condition had not improved. A urinalysis was done and I was again informed by two veterinarians that they both saw moving organisms in her urine that they had never seen before and would need to research and consult their peers in order to find out what they were. They then recommended a specialist and scan to determine where the mass was located. I called to schedule an appointment with the specialist and the procedure was going to cost well over $1000.00. I had already spent almost that much on my cat's treatment at Ambassabor. When I called Ambassador to see if they had been able to identify the organisms they saw, I was told no and that only a specialist could do so. I spoke to a veterinarian who had not treated my cat before and asked if any research or calls had been made to learn what the moving organisms could be. I received a surprisingly condescending and rude reply and there was clearly no attempt to contact anyone about what was seen. I was again informed that I needed to see a specialist. I decided to get a second opinion from another veterinarian who immediately diagnosed my cat with uterine cancer, administered a steroid treatment and explained that she would continue to decline and we agreed to keep her comfortable as long as was humane. Six weeks later after ongoing treatment, this veterinarian came to my home and euthanized my cat while she laid in my arms. Although very personable and pleasant, I would not trust Ambassabor with anything other than routine care.

I recently made a move with my husband to Ft. Jackson and wasn't sure where to take my pup but I found that this clinic was close to home and had amazing reviews. My dog is a rescue who comes from a background where abuse took place so if I take him somewhere where he's not used his anxiety hits. We've been taking our pets here for years and they have always been helpful, compassionate and friendly. They were kind enough to work us in several times when our dog had cancer and needed immediate treatment. They always take the time to explain everything to you and lay out all of your options. When I needed a second opinion for my dog Sawyer's issues I immediately went to Google and searched for nearby veterinary offices. Ambassador's Animal Hospital really stood out! They had many reviews and still a really super high rating. Their reviews also were very genuine. I immediately called and set up an appointment and it was such an easy process. Dr. Holland was so wonderful! She was so kind and so caring. She listened to what I had to say and from the moment she walked in you could tell that you had her attention and her care. She provided multiple options for me all with careful attention to what I could afford to do at the time. She spoke truthfully and graciously. They seem to have a policy to do a follow up call with their patients to check in on how things were going. I can't tell you how appreciative I am for those calls. I had never gotten that at my previous vet... Even if it is policy, it still shows that they care for the animals that are under their care. Unfortunately, for us, we had to put my sweet girl down. They handled the process very well and still to this day have shown their care for my wife and I, even after having to put down Sawyer and after only knowing her for a few weeks. I'm so thankful for their care. When my wife and I feel like we are able to get another dog (soon) we will definitely be taking her to Ambassador Animal Hospital. I suggest you do the same, if you want a very knowledgeable vet that cares deeply.

I started going to Ambassador Animal Hospital when I had an English Setter puppy who stopped eating. Sam had seen another vet several times and found nothing. The staff at the vet also were not very friendly. I decided to try another vet and looked in phone book under vets and Ambassador was first on list. Off I went with my setter pup. Within minutes of arriving, Dr Joe Trimmier found part of a plant stuck in back of his month. The skin had started growing over it. Sam, the setter, was sedated and piece removed and on his way to recovery. We continued to go to Dr Trimmier and once he recommended that he go to the emergency vet because he couldn't walk. Sam recovered from that. The last visit was when Sam was 12 and he was having a hard time walking and moving. I had to make one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. The whole process was handled with dignity and caring. Sam was sedated so I could spend time with him and hug him. When I get another dog, I will go back to Ambassador - they treat your pet, but they also have compassion for you, the owner. I now have a new puppy, Jack Russell Terrier, that I got from a rescue. Dr. Joe Trimmier has again been invaluable with suggestions since I knew nothing about that breed. I like that he is honest and upfront and listens to your questions intently. He and his staff are friendly and take time with you and your pet. I highly recommend Ambassador Animal Hospital.

Love ambassador animal hospital! They definitely go above and beyond for their patients. I was out of town when Columbia flooded and boarded my dog there and was so worried. Since the power was out there I got a personal phone call from their cell phone that the animals were okay. I also had a very old dog at the time so we were frequent customers, they never tried to convince me to do the expensive stuff either or over charge. When it came down to the time to put her down they were so nice and made the experience more bearable. I would definitely recommend going to them.
