Monday evening 6/17/19 we picked up heart worm medicine for our dogs. Today 6/20/2019 at 10:46am I got a call from Nicole, she told me that the person had mistakenly given us the medicine for a lighter dog (up to 50lbs), our dog is 57lbs and asked if we could come in to exchange it since we had not used it yet. I told her that I would have whoever was at home go in to exchange it today. When she got there to exchange the medicine today at about 2:15pm the other staff wanted to find Nicole to do the exchange since she had made the phone call about it. This process took about 10 minutes as no one seemed to know where Nicole was. When Nicole got to the front desk she made no apology and asked for the difference to be paid. At this point she told Nicole that she works in a pharmacy and making a mistake on a prescription is a really serious mistake. Nicole responded with "we are not a pharmacy and we make medication errors". She told Nicole that if this is the attitude of the business then she would not exchange the heart worm medication and that we would be switching vet practices. Nicole smiled and answered "OK let me know where you want me to send their records".

Dr. Farin and all the staff are wonderful. I have been going there for years and am so pleased with my cat's care. He was very sick at one time and Dr. Farin and her staff got him well and he is doing great since. I highly recommend Scituate animal hospital. All I can say is that I have never met more compassionate , caring and honest people as I did these past two weeks. The entire staff at Scituate Animal Hospital..from the woman at the desk, the techs and the vet are all wonderful. Two weeks ago we had to take or very ill Honey to be checked... she did well on the medication diet she was given then went downhill..we returned yesterday only to find that the opening into her stomach was the size of o fingertip if that...the vet explained the 3 things which could be causing this..a stenosis, cancer or inflammation..there were made for inflammation but if taken and it was not that she could have ruptured and bled out at home. Since she had gone through a major surgery last year, and was 13 years old, we knew that she could never withstand surgery and if cancer was the diagnosis she definitely would never have tolerated the meds. So we had to have her euthanized. The whole staff was so compassionate and caring. I cannot say enough wonderful things about everone... they treated Honey with dignity and made one of the saddest days of our life as tolerable as possible. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

This place was where i took both my dogs, on a day that we had a blizzard i called them because my dog was sick. They put me on hold 4 times and even though they are 5 minutes from me they refused to look at my dog and told me to take him to ocean state. It took me 2 hours to get there and by that time he was having seizures and couldnt breathe. He had to be euthanized.I woulsmd not recommend this place to anyone that cares about their pets.

Five stars is not enough for situate animal hospital!! They love your animals as much as you do.... they love what they do and it shows!!! last year our Mi-ki had to have knee surgery and they consistently were calling us at night to check on her....!!!

The Vets, the techs and front office staff have always been wonderful and accommodating. I grew up in Scituate and our animals have always gone there. It has been great to see them grow. I live 30 mins away and have several animal hospitals closer by. I trust Scituate with my pets!!

The only thing I don't like is the bill but that being said good Veterinary and care is expensive. Staff and the doctors are extremely good at what they do.

I have looked far and wide for a vet that can handle my Chesapeake because he is not an easy dog to work with. They took my dog in quickly even though I wasn't a regular customer there yet and my dog needed surgery. Dr. ONeil was amazing, patient and extremely competent. She made me feel confident in leaving my dog in her care. They are also extremely well priced. I wish I had come here a long time ago. I drive an hour just to get there, past many other vet hospitals with "great reviews & good reputations" because it is that important! I'm thankful for Dr. Oneil, her team, and their wonderful care. Thank you so much!
