Live down the road so when we got a new puppy it was our first choice. And we are so happy! This is a great place. The vets are nice people who truly care about animals. I love it here because they're not just in it for the money, and unlike other places I've been to, they understand that not everyone who owns a pet is rich and can afford x-rays, 6 million tests, etc. They'll actually work with you and try their best to just give you the absolute necessary tests to fix your pets problem. Also, their vet fee is cheaper than other places, and the meds are really cheap too. I highly recommend them!

Not the warm, welcoming veterinarian's office that we are used to. We just moved to the area, and on our initial visit, our vet asked the basic questions about our puppy, but didn't go into much more about the overall well being of the dog, stages of training, milestones, etc. Things were worse on day 2 when we went to pick up the puppy's medicine. Only after about 5 minutes of standing in front of the counter did a receptionist finally address my presence. After that, there was no interest at all to answer any of my questions or concerns about dosage and possible side effects. Lastly, she pushed back after I asked her to fill out our pet insurance claim form and didn't want to fill it out. After she did finally fill it out, she refused to fax it for me (which is what I've seen is the standard). We won't be back here, and I just cancelled our next appointment with them. This is too bad because this was a pretty quick drive from our house and I was hoping for a difference experience.

Stood at the reception desk whilel 3 employees stood behind chatting away. I finally I asked them if I could check in but it took several minutes before I did and then they responded casually. No apologies for the wait. When I got into the room the technician told me to hold the cat while she took his temperature. That was a first for me.. Usually the tech holes while the doctor takes a temperature. When the doctor came in the room she did not introduce herself. She had no name tag on . I'm still not sure if that was the doctor.

Not bad for basic appointments and checkups. I took my male guinea pig for a pre-op appointment just to make sure he was in good health, and I loved the doctor. He was gentle and sweet, and made it so my piggie was relaxed. The price for a checkup isn’t bad either ($35!!), so I’ll definitely be bringing back my other animals there if need be. The reason I’m giving three stars is because the day of the operation featured lots of miscommunication. The day we booked the appointment, about a week before, we were told to bring him in between the hours of 8 and 9 and he’d be done by 12. There were other animals before us scheduled for a neutering as well, but we figured that even if we did have to wait, it wouldn’t be very long. We come by the day of the surgery, we drop him off and the first thing that bothered me was that they just took him from my hands and brought him to the back, with minimal interaction with me or my partner. I am very protective of my animals, and I love them dearly, so I felt a little nervous when he was just taken from me with no explanation of what was going to happen, etc. We were told to come back around 2. A little off of the original time, but we figured it was no biggie. Although we both had work at 5, we also live only about 20 mins from the area, and surely we’d make it back on time. We mentioned the original time and she told us to call around 12:30-1:00PM, so that’s what we did. I asked for an estimation on when he should be ready, and I was told he was JUST going into surgery. I was a little ticked, but why rush a vet who’s trying to preform surgery on your animal, right? I was told to call in an hour and they’d give us a specific time. So, an hour later, I call, and they told us AGAIN he was JUST going into surgery. Now I’m upset because I was told to leave him there around 8 in the morning, and my very skittish animal must have been very stressed in an unfamiliar environment for so long without his owner. I was told, once again, to call in an hour. I do, and I’m told with annoyance that he’d be done between the hours of 3 and 5, and to call again in an hour. It was three o clock at that point, and we had no guinea pig, and he still wasn’t ready, and neither one of us were given a specific time to pick him up. I called again in an hour, because I was told to do that AGAIN, and was told the same thing with even more annoyance. My partner called out of work to go pick up the guinea pig, and by the time I had received word that they were both home, it was already six o clock. I appreciate the work that vets do, believe me, and I fully understand that there are other animals that came before us and deserved their time and surgeries first. I was just annoyed with the way the same receptionist kept treating us over the phone like we were an annoyance, only because we were trying to bring our pet home and we were following her instructions. TL;DR The basic in-and-out appointments are great and the vet was amazing, their services are cheap as well. Communication and actually getting our pet home come surgery day was a mess.

Awesome vet! I'm tired of vets that take you for every dime, make you feel cheap if you ask pricing, and are generally not conscious that normal people live on a budget. I had heard good things about Mt. Hope Animal Hospital, so I tried them twice, once with my dog and and once with an injured chicken (yes, a chicken). The office staff is friendly and seems to genuinely care about your pet. The vet was down to Earth yet very knowledgeable, and answered questions happily. What I am happiest about is that they are very reasonably priced and FAIR! This is what animal health care should be - good people, great care, fair pricing. I found my vet!

I take my pugs here. Parking can be an issue sometimes. When they are busy, you have to wait a bit until someone can get to you and therefore expect about 5 min wait until you can get to the counter. The staff is friendly and courteous.

Paid the vet hospital that night Dr.bert and staff were gracious enough to allow me to pay my balance in increments, after I paid what I could.
