Always a pleasant experience with Abbott Valley Vet. The receptionists are kind, knowledgeable, and are happy to answer any questions I have when I call them. Appointments are very easy to make. The waiting area is clean and I've never had to wait more than a minute or two before getting my dog in a room. All of the medical staff are FANTASTIC! They are so loving and understanding and always put in the extra effort to make my pup happy and comfortable while doing their work flawlessly. Seriously, taking Kaya (my lab/collie mix) to the vet is never a burden. She actually gets happy when we get there.

My wife and I adopt senior and special needs dogs. Because of this, quality of care is the most important aspect when choosing a vet. I have been to 6 different vets and for various reasons, no longer use them. It may be the inability to diagnose properly, lack of staying on top of current methods or the staff may not be caring enough. We typically only have our friends 2-3 years, so we do everything in our power to make sure it's the best part of their life. ALL of the staff at Abbott Valley goes above and beyond when we visit. They actually care and offer up options, all while being considerate of cost and your pet's health and well being. If your pet needs something they cannot provide, they give you options of who can assist. We live out of state and drive over one hour to Abbott Valley and couldn't be happier with them.

I have been taking my dogs, bunnies and cats to Dr. Gifford for 14 years. I have had the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Gifford as well as Dr. Tanguay and Dr. Mowry. Everyone is so professional and caring! When my Lab was diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Gifford administered all of his chemo and made sure his nausea was taken care of. I even received a phone call at 9:30 at night from her checking on my dog and talking about his bloodwork. I will be forever grateful to AVVC for taking such good care of my not only my Lab but all of my other dogs as well as my cats and bunnies!!

We have been bringing our dogs to Dr. Gifford for almost 20 years. We moved out of state 10 years ago and tried some local vets. We were never as happy with the local vets as we were with Dr. Gifford and decided it was worth the one hour drive to make sure our dogs got the care they deserved. Another reason we love AVVC is the vet techs. Like I said we tried a few other vets when we first moved. Some of the vet techs we encountered at these other locations seems like they were just there for a paycheck and not because they loved the animals. That is not the case at AVVC. All of the vet techs treat our fur babies like one of their own. Our dogs get more hugs, pets and kisses when they go to visit Dr. Gifford (and Dr. Mawry). Everyone there bends over backwards to make sure our poochies receive the best care. BEST VETS EVER!!!!!

We have been bringing our dogs and cats to Dr Joyce and staff for over 25 years now and would never go anywhere else. She and the other docs are so knowledgeable and caring, as are all the vet techs. Our kitty Charlotte had chronic kidney disease for over 6 years, and lived until the ripe old age of 19.5 due to Dr Gifford's expertise! Unheard of! Now we have 2 young kitties who will benefit from all their love and knowledge! Also, a new feature of the front desk which I love, is that when they answer the phone, they ask "is this an emergency, can I wait a minute?", which I love!

I have been going to Abbott Valley since I took in a stray cat one winter about 12 years ago. All of the Dr's are very compassionate and friendly. The Technicians are well trained and treat your pet as a family member. Through the years they always treated my Stuie to the best of their ability and even in the last months of his life I received the knowledge to understand my cats health needs. They supported me when I needed it the most, and I received a sympathy card from Dr. Brandy Tanguay when he passed. Besides my Stuie, Abbott Valley welcomed my cat, Lilly, about 3 years ago and now our newest member of the family, Daisy, will be loved there as well. The offices are always very clean and the staff always greats me and my pet children with smiles.

I started out with Dr. Gifford when her office was right next to RT 295. She has always been very helpful with every visit... This pass September one of my cats, who was 13 years old, was acting strange so first thing on a Monday morning I called & was able to bring him in that day... We tried a few different medications & I even got to meet Dr. Mowry who was covering for her on the week-end... (I had sent her an e-mail & she took time out to call Dr Mowry to discuss what we should do. With nothing helping him I decided it was time to let him go over the rainbow bridge. Dr Mowry couldn't have been any kinder than he was...He got Mr. Clyde ready for his injection & brought him back to me (who was sitting on the floor) so I could hold him while he did it. Everyone was so great with me & I can't thank them enough for all they did. I know I'll be seeing them again because I still have Miss Bonnie here & I will always have a pet that will need some care from there... Be sure to try they out, you won't be sorry...

I sincerely recommend Abbott Valley Veterinary Center for care of your pet companions. As a senior and new to Cumberland I was prone to anxiety over the care of my pets. During the past five years, I have found the receptionists to be pleasant, great listeners, and always angels in disguise to getting care provided in a timely manner. The doctors and techs are skillful, knowledgeable, observant, and diagnostic recommendations accurate. I really appreciate their dedication to caring to both, pet and caregiver.

A year ago in a blizzard, when my vet and all other vets closest to me were closed, and I was facing heading out on the highway to an emergency vet, Dr. Gifford agreed to see my dog who was not a previous patient. She and her staff were kind and caring, despite trying to fit us in between scheduled patients. She diagnosed my dog as having a case of acute pancreatitis and gave him an injection for relief of his pain and send us home with other meds. Dr. Gifford followed up by phone later that day and the next, and followed Caelus' case closely. The love she and her techs showed my dog is priceless to me and I am so thankful for their kindness, excellent skills and training and professionalism!

I have been coming to Abbott Valley Veterinary Center for 20 years. Since moving away from Cumberland I now drive 35 minutes to bring my Cat there and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. My last two cat's lived to be 17 and 18 years old, one had a heart condition since birth; I contribute their longevity to the excellent care they both received.The whole staff is friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and very caring. Dr. Gifford always takes the time to return my phone calls when I have a concern about my cat, if she is not available another Vet. who is equally as skilled will speak with me. AVVC is about your pet's health not the dollar and will recommend tests and/or procedures only if they are truly necessary. I have referred friends and trust AVVC wholeheartedly with my pets!

I drive from the East Bay all the way to Cumberland to bring our pets to Dr. Gifford. Over the years I have tried other vets that are closer to our home...but on several key occasions, other vets have misdiagnosed problems with our pets, and I always wound up going back to see Dr. Gifford. Her clinical skills are top-notch. At this point, we will only bring our (5) pets to Abbott Valley. And the office staff are very nice, too!

I take my cat - George - to Abbott Valley Veterinary Center and I am very happy with all my services. George is not an especially easy cat to deal with. He always manages to get knots in his fur and he does not like to be brushed. So on top of all the medical services they give, they have also shaved the knots off on occasions. They are very patient with him and George and I both appreciate it. So give them a try and I know you will be happy.
