First time we went here we told the doctor our cat was sneezing and sounded congested. He blew it off and did not report it (we have the paperwork.) After a year, we went for a check up and we reported it again. The new doctor said our cat could have asthma or a respiratory issue and said our last visit our doctor told us that. He did not...We took our cat to the Richboro Vet and they gave us so much more detail and help. I feel like Newtown vet will lead you along to get more $ out of you.

Best thing I can say is that we started here with our pets when we moved to Newtown 13 years ago and we still bring our pets here (cats, dogs, rabbits, hamster). Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and convenient location.

I took my baby Bella Blu there for a second opinion because her liver levels were elevated and she needed to be spayed. I saw Dr. Woods after 6 days without a phone call back. I called, the first day they blew me off, the second day they finally after me pressing the issue a lovely Dr. B explained her results. Dr Woods finally called me a week later, probably after getting in trouble by Dr. B to ask me what she could do to make it better. There is nothing she could do to rectify the situation. The unfortunate thing is we have a 11 month old pug & a 8 moth old teddy bear dog, which meant we were looking for a Vet for the long haul. We also realized that there prices were between 30- 40% higher than Vets in the area. If you feel a need to take your precious pup there RUN if they try to give you an appt. with Dr. Woods, you will get more compassion from the Jiffy Lube People changing your oil. BTW there office is state of the Art, I guess the patients are paying for that through the nose.

I've been a client at Newtown Veterinary Hospital since 2010, when I adopted my dog, Grace. Since then, we have always had positive experiences. I'm a first-time dog owner, and Grace is an older dog with a number of health issues, so we have had a lot of interactions with NVH over the last several years. Grace's primary vet is Dr. Jaaron Graham, who is awesome -- absolutely the best! He is gentle with my shy little dog, patient with my endless questions and an excellent diagnostician. Whether we are talking about vaccinations vs. titers, managing the arthritis in Grace's neck or trying to get to the root of her chronic cough, he always explains all our options and the pros and cons of each, including relative costs. I feel that he always gives me the facts I need to make an informed decision on my dog's behalf. I have never, ever come away with the feeling that he is trying to reach into my wallet. Just the opposite. He seems very committed to offering cost-effective solutions. For example, he recommended sending a chest X-ray to a specialist for review before we ordered additional diagnostic tests that would have been expensive and not necessarily useful. He is very methodical and thorough. I also know that if I leave him a question via voicemail, he will always get back to me, even if it is long after his workday is supposed to be "done." Grace also sees Dr. Debra Collazo for physical therapy and rehabilitation for arthritis in her neck. Dr. Collazo clearly loves working with animals and finding creative ways to help guide them back to health. Grace loves playing PT games with her and loves the laser therapy. (Acupuncture, not so much, so Dr. Collazo doesn't force it on her.) She has helped me with ideas for ongoing PT exercises for Grace at home, and she is very responsive via email anytime I have a question — even if it's not about physical therapy. And I know she thinks about her patients outside the office. She has come back from vet conferences and sent links to information that she thinks might benefit Grace. The practice has always been able to fit us in if we need a same-day appointment, so we have seen several other vets on staff. They have always been very knowledgeable and compassionate. Dr. Palm, in particular, followed up to see how Grace was doing when we were there for an emergency, even though Grace isn't one of her regular patients. We have been very happy with the practice.

NVH has always been very friendly. I feel like my pup is in good hands there. That's very important when you love your pet as much as I do. I would definitely recommend them.

My wonderful 17 yo kitty had a sudden onset of severe respiratory distress which was causing him pain and due to his age,recovery not a likely option.With the greatest love and care,Dr Dale and the staff helped me make the difficult choice to let him go and then did everything they could to make it a gentle,quiet experience.This just happened today,so I wanted to be sure the staff knew how grateful I am for their kindness and care for not only my cat,but for me. I was there alone and they made sure I had their support and empathy. The staff here has always been wonderful,with appointments made quickly - when I called today,they saw us within the hour. Don't get the medication here!! Incredibly over priced. As much as 200% over regular prices. The Veterinarians are shady, shady, shady. They won't give a straight answer in case they are wrong they won't be liable for their answer. I don't like that. I don't go to a so called "expert" to get a "maybe, could be or a bunch a possibilities" diagnostics. I can get better answers from the internet on you tube vet channels. They won't give you much info in better life styles for your Pet to improve the conditions of your pet. Sometimes a good tip goes a long way when it comes to extending the life expectancy of your fury love one. The harder the health circumstances are with your pet the harder will be to get a straight concise answer. Don't do the physical therapy or laser treatments there if you have a big dog. The therapists is scare of "nervous-anxious" dogs. OMG. The building is nice.

It has been a number of years since I have visited Newtown Veterinary Hospital, but I feel compelled to write a review at this time. I wish I had provided this feedback at the time, but was not comfortable doing so. I used this vet for many years and some of the experiences were very positive, while others were quite negative. I was a first-time dog owner when I started going to Newtown Vet. I truly loved and wanted to do the best for my pet but had a lot to learn. Unfortunately, some of the vets (who may not even be employed there any longer) were quite nasty, critical and judgmental of my abilities as a pet owner. Additionally, based on information received from a different vet who treated my pet, I believe a medical condition may not have been properly diagnosed in many years at Newtown, and while the medication prescribed was effective and correct, the dosage was possibly too high. I cannot say if the possible misdiagnosis and incorrect dosage really had a significant impact on the well being of my pet, but it was disappointing that I may not have been given the correction information despite regular visits. The primary vet we saw was Angela Summers. Years later, my experiences with Dr. Summers still stick in mind. It almost seems that she was more concerned with passing judgment on my abilities as a pet owner and less on medical decision-making. I also saw Jamie Logan a few times, and she was extremely nasty on one particular visit. On the flip side, Dr. Graham and Dr. Palm, whom I did not see as often, stand out in my mind as excellent vets who were helpful and encouraging in their advice, as opposed to condescending and accusatory as with Dr. Summers and Dr. Logan. I have been to 2 different vet practices since Newtown, and have had much more positive overall experiences with vets who educate in a manner that doesn't make you feel terrible. Perhaps it would be better for the vets to first focus on medical care, and when there is a need for education, do so in a supportive and compassionate manner. I was very attentive to my pet's needs and tried my best. Sure, there was room for improvement, and I had a lot to learn, but the pervasive accusatory tone from some of the staff that I was a lousy pet owner still sits with me years later. Hopefully, in the years since, these vets have changed their approach and give the pet owners the benefit of the doubt. Incidentally, this pet lived to a ripe old age and had a pretty good life. I guess I did something right.

Explained everything to me through the process and made sure thaylt my fur baby was comfortable. She was even looking for them when they left the room and just wanted to be part of it with them!

Don't board your pet's here! We boarder our bichon here. Because are regular kennel told us Newtown would be better for her because of her weak legs, plus she was blind. Plus they are a veterinarian hospital. She was on medication for her eyes , my wife wrote out all the instructions as to what EYE Got the meds. Went over it with the girl. We only had her in their for two days when we came back her one EYE had green pus all over it, when my wife question the girl she didn't notice it, plus they didn't follow my wife's directions . Now we had their veterinarian look at they cleaned it but they charged us for their mistakes. The kennel people they hire are young girls who don't pay attention to instructions or the dog's .

Excellent veterinary practice. I've been taking my border collies and dachshund to Newtown Vet. since 2005. I moved from West Chester, PA and I absolutely loved my vet who was the quintessential care provider - skilled, compassionate, knowledgeable and respectful (recognized that I understood medical conditions being a healthcare researcher). Well, I chose Newtown as my local vet and I'm extremely happy. While it does seem that they are more expensive than other practices, I feel that the care my dogs receive is comprehensive - high quality and caring. My dogs have primarily seen Dr. Summers who I absolutely adore. She has this caring approach that makes her not intimidating to my dogs. I have also seen Dr. Dale who is a new addition to the practice. She was excellent. The Vet Techs are phenomenal. They are caring towards the patients (mine and others) and they work seamlessly with the doctors. The administrative staff at the front desk are wonderful too - extremely friendly.
