My fury friends have been patients at Alburtis Animal Hospital since Dr. Donovan started it behind his house in Alburtis. I've cycled through a few of those friends, but keep going back with each new one. The hallmark of Dr. Donovan's practice was skill combined with wonderful compassionate care. He continued that tradition when he brought Dr. Smith on, and I believe it continues with the new staff.

My new cat, a stray, was vaccinated and spayed here in early October. Everyone was very kind, the front office, the technicians and the doctors. The doctor called me to let me know she came through the procedure well. And I received a follow up call within 24 hours to see if there were any issues, problems, etc; fortunately the cat was doing very well and continues to do so.

We have use this vet for a long time, when we lost our first Boxer they were very accommodating and respected our wishes of how we wanted to approach her treatment. We are now on our second boxer who also goes to this vet and I swear he's more excited to go to the vet then he is to go on a long run! LOL

For everything from routine vaccinations to surgery, they have given our girls such competent and personalized care. The staff and doctors are all so professional and attentive. Dr Smith and Wegner and the staff (esp Cathy She is my pup's favorite "aunt") are fantastic! They care for your pet as if he or she was their own! They have incredible followup and communication throughout all processes. We had taken our little guy there for all of his puppy appointments and recently had him neutered and his stenotic nares repaired. I specifically waited until after the procedure to write a review and I couldn't be happier! Dont pay any mind to those saying these guys are expensive your pet is family and the care they provide is worth every penny! We love them so much we moved and refuse to change!

We weren't happy with the service / care at another vet in the Lehigh Valley so we had our female pit's records transferred to Alburtis Animal Hospital. We heard great things about Alburtis. Earlier this week, our dog had an ear infection so we made an appt. The staff were so nice and helpful. Doctor Wegner got down on his hands and knees when meeting our dog then sat with her on the floor. Two days ago a receptionist called to check on how she's doing. She's getting back to her normal self. Great people at this vet. A little pricey but worth every penny!

I have been using alburtis animal hospital for all of my pets since 1989, when it was just dr. Donovan working from his converted garage. I have to be honest, I wasn't thrilled when he expanded and moved into a bigger place and hired more doctors. In the people world, this always means the doctors have less time, are less personable, rush through appointments and you just feel like a number. Nothing could be farther from the truth there. These doctors, and their staff, are just as caring. I recently had my aging dog in for an emergency visit because he was having a stroke. They fit me right into their busy schedule that night. I was hysterical when I got there. They were so understanding and accommodating. Dr. Borrelli spent a lot of time with us, not just examining my dog, but taking the time to explain everything to us over and over, and she did not become impatient answering all of my questions. I left there, no longer in tears, with no question left unanswered. She called the next day to check on him and called with his test results when she said she would. I would not take my pets anywhere else and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a vet. Even with dr.donavan now retired, I still have the confidence I always did. The current doctors were picked by the best of the best for a reason. Kudos to all of you at alburtis animal hospital.

When the first got to the point he had to be put down I think the doctor took it as hard as I did. Their office staff is very caring and accommodating to our needs and the doctors have that small town "caring" approach. You are a patient and a family first when you are there, unlike the profit focused, pay my inflated prices animal hospitals in throughout the Lehigh Valley. My first visit with my pups to Alburtis Animal Hospital was with Dr. Donovan nearly 7 years ago. Dr. Donovan gushed over my pets during the exam, the exact same way I do at home every day. Nowadays, it’s the wonderful Dr. Smith gushing over my pets during appointments and I love that they aren’t shy to adore my pets the way I do to this day. Alburtis Animal Hospital and the entire staff is the best! We've been clients for many years and have always received the most professional and loving care for our pets (and us). We all love to hear our beloved pet is well but over the years we have had to put a couple of pups down. The most touching time is when Roxy, our Bassett who suffered from seizures for quite some time started to deteriorate. I was out of state when my pups caregivers called to give us the news, I talked to Dr. Smith about possibly putting her to sleep at our home, he was more than willing to do that but reminded me that the memory of where she spent her final moments may never fade for us. I took Roxy to Alburtis Animal Hospital where a beautiful girly comforter was waiting for her to lay down on and go sleep never to worry about another seizure.
