Hands down, Tigard Animal Hospital is medical home to our "posse" of 3.We began with them, when our vet of many years couldn't see us immediately for a situation we felt urgent. We were used to shaking pets when entering the office. Not there! Appointments are prompt, the office helpful and friendly.Discounts for some services are always appreciated. And smiles!Regardless of how busy, the focus remains on your needs, and always with a friendly nature. We appreciate that!

Doctor Tran is amazing.

Because of the customer service I drive 30 minutes to Tigard Animal Hospital. I live in Aloha and have numerous clinics much closer, but because of Dr. Genova and his staff I drive to Tigard.

I took my Belgian Malinois here after moving from CO. Absolutely love the staff. I have also taken a rescue dog here for a overal exam and heartworm, vaccinations, etc and was happy. The doctor informed me on health benefits of fixing my male but didn't pressure me about it or make me feel bad, which was nice. Quick service and the vets and techs always take their time with me and my pup. I just got a pit bull puppy who comes here regularly and she feels very comfortable with all the staff. They are reasonably priced and offer low cost spaying and teeth cleaning, awesome! Downside is they over vaccinate. Somehow my 4 yr old Malinois who has always had his annual vaccines has been vaccinated for his distemper combo 3 times by this place in 8 months. They wanted to refuse to give me proof of vaccinations if I didn't get the stupid boosters, but after a firm conversation they eased up.

Lisa Erickson

Great people to work with and not too expensive. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

Nate

I would try to avoid this place. They are very friendly and nice, but they are way over priced and really try to get as much money as possible out of you. For example my dog has bladder stones, and they charges me nearly $1200.00 between a few appointments just to say here is antibiotics. They even over charged on those. I just tried giving them a call to get my dogs nails cut, and they wouldn't do it without a full blown exam. Beware of this place trying to over sell you as much as possible.

Great!

Loved this place. Must have new management/owners because policies are all of a sudden changing. Last visit in I was told I couldn't buy perscription food for my cat without an yearly exam. This is for a cat with Urinary Stones which is a lifetime issue. They've seen the cat and diagnosed the cat prior and have been with them for over 6 years. All of a sudden now I have to stress my cat out and take him to the vet every year just so I can buy the food he needs to survive? Complete cash grab, and as a result am taking all my pets to another vet. Edit since they responded - If that was true then where was that the last 7 years? Infact I only had to take my cat to you once for the perscription, and since the cat has only been in for vaccines. It's been at least 2-3 years since you've seen him and it was never a requirement before. Like I said, you're looking for increased business, not increased benefit for the pet, and as a result, you'll get no business from me.

Andrew Schaffer

Good vet for my experience and importantly they're always responsive and send me quotes and receipts via email. Makes it much easier to track. Quite a few jew faces I've seen but otherwise the place is great.

Jaime Jean

I appreciate this animal hospital so much. I actually just brought my French Bulldog home from surgery from there today. As always their bedside manner was truly tender and they are always very patient with my questions and concerns. I highly recommend them.

Gary Dennis

The Vet's seem to change often, but our pets have gotten good care there.

amya nouga

Staff is excellent, prices are fair. Wait time is long but usually worth it.

Oscar Wilde

The folks at Tigard Animal Hospital do a great job of taking care of the hair beasts and genuinely care. We're lucky to have them.

Jim Simmons

These folks do OK animal care but beware that once they have you email address they will keep sending you spam marketing emails and won't remove your name from their marketing list even after several requests.

tennise thornton

I have taken all my pets here throughout the years. When talking to my Dad, I found out he has always taken his pets here! Great staff, easy to understand, very comfortable to leave my loved ones for care here.

Tom Partin

We recently took our dog into the Tigard pet hospital. This facility was recommended by our daughter who takes her dog in for regular check-ups and treatments. We found the staff to be very professional and caring for our dog and diagnosed the health problem very quickly. I would highly recommend the Tigard pet hospital for all of your pets medical and health needs.

Marissa Nolan

We brought our new kitten as well as our old cat in. The vet techs and vet we have met have all been extremely nice. We are definitely happy to have found a good vet for our animals after leaving one we adored in California.

Sara S

We LOVE Tigard Animal Hospital. I was referred here by one of the techs Alex. She's amazing with Grizzly, as well as all the front office ladies and other techs we've seen. Everyone has been helpful and friendly every time we go. But the icing on the cake is the calm, super knowledgeable, approachable Vet Dr. Lias. She's so great with our fur baby, and has helped keep me calm when worst-case scenarios are the only things going through my head. By far the best Vet's office I've encountered. Thank you, team!!

Passionate and caring staff. You really should consider taking your animal here for all veterinary care.

We took our 5 month old puppy, Kona in to get her spayed at Tigard Animal Hospital. The staff was very honest and sincere. It has now been two days since her operation and Kona's energy levels are vigorously back to puppy++ levels. The small incision is healing as if she were the Wolverine. Thank you Dr. Rita Lawler and all of the staff at Tigard Animal Hospital. The work you do is very much appreciated.

Excellent experience. Dr. Eddy spent extra time with me discussing behavioral concerns involving the potential of adding additional pets and travel to our family and its possible effects on our pet cat "Spooky". She was very helpful and knowledgeable mostly through actual experience with numerous pets she has and has had. Thank-you !

Elizabeth Johnson

Unprofessional vet says she fondled my dogs balls and penis! After giving this vet another chance, they showed me again today that all they care about is how much money they can get from you. Their vet, Jill DeSau, is on such a power trip she refused to discuss an end of life plan for my older dog. She is CRAZY enough to chase me and my children out to the reception after I refused to continue the appointment. While in the reception area she had the nerve to say an exam was done because she "fondled my dogs balls and penis". She said this in front of my children, what kind of person says that when talking about an exam? She informed me my opinions and wishes for my pets don't matter and that I was required to do what THEY wanted. STAY AWAY from this vet, its all about selling their Paw plan and overpriced medications. UPDATE: These people sent my account straight to a collection agency. Never once received a bill for her lame excuse of "services". Please stay away from this place!

We have been taking our pets to Tigard Animal Hospital ever since we moved here almost 6 years ago. We love this place! When our 16 year old cat developed cancer, they were very very caring both for Felix and for us. They helped us sort through all of the options, and when he finally had to be put to sleep, all of the staff were incredibly kind and gentle to all of our family. The fact that we take our new rescue cat to Tigard Animal Hospital shows how highly we think of their services and professionalism.

Sonia Avalos

I been taking my pets to tigard animal hospital for years and it has been a good experience.

Kara Holcomb

They take the BEST care of my babies! They're nice, timely, very knowledgeable, and cost effective. We love having them as our vet.

Nick Redard

only place I take my dog. highly recommended. always quick service and affordable. always get the exact help i need for my dog every time i go in there. they are great, for real, I will never go anywhere else. again, highly recommended.

Leif Rudduck

The front desk staff, technicians, and doctors here are all very friendly and helpful. I trust them for all of our pets' needs.

Amanda Sheets

The vets and staff have always been very pleasant. Dr. Miller helped us diagnose our dog with a fatal illness, and her follow up care was exceptional. They are very accommodating, and if you have to wait, you usually get a few bucks knocked off your bill. I had heard about them pushing a dental club, but in many times going in the last year, I haven't heard mention of it once from the staff. I would recommend!

Yolanda Puskas

I took my animal here during one of the Saturday vaccine clinics. It was something like $10 for the rabies shot, with the exam fee waved.

Brandon Schmidt

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Tigard Animal Hospital where I have taken my dog in the past. When I called to schedule an appointment for a vaccine update, the receptionist was very nice and told me what the total cost would be. The hospital left a reminder message and all was good until a few minutes before my appointment when I received a last minute call telling me they overlooked an extra exam fee of $55. It’s frustrating that they weren’t up-front with their pricing and didn’t take the time to review any of our information prior to us arriving for the appointment.

Holly Linendoll

Do yourself and your pets a favor and go meet the doctors at Tigard Animal Hospital! They consider the whole pet when I being my furry kids in, they don't just give a shot and collect my money. It's really nice knowing my business is appreciated and they staff wants to get to know me and my pets. They work with a lot of rescue organizations too, which means a lot to me and shows me that they care about way more than just making money. Some people just know their purpose, and the whole team at Tigard Animal Hospital knows their purpose is to help animals. The folks a Tigard Animal Hospital have shown me that is who they truly are. Count me in as a client for life :)

Three years ago, I brought a pet to this vet. I needed a herp vet. My reptile ended up dying. But not by lack of trying on the part of the vet. So I brought my reptile back to be cremated. It was relatively inexpensive. So I was happy. I lost a cat the following year and in all that I found out that the herp vet had moved on. Crummy for the growing population of reptiles in the Tigard area, seeing as how they are becoming more popular. But no big deal. At the same time, my eldest cat started going thru renal failure. I knew he was and I am not even a vet. Tigard animal hospital ran all sorts of tests and sent myself, my cat and my partner home, mostly empty handed, with a contract that lasted a year. I knew that he, most likely was not going to live out the full year. What he needed was medication to make his last days more enjoyable. But I was given the impression there was nothing more we could do. I am on a payment plan for the contract we set up at that time. But meanwhile, my cat died. So now I needed to get his remains taken care of. So I called to see if I could bring them to have them cremated. The response I got was basically, yes as long as you pay off the contract first. No, "sorry for your loss" just we want our money. Where i come from, we call that vultures. And inappropriate and insensative. I don't know who is operating this place now, but it is most definitely not the same people who helped me with my reptile three years ago. I will never bring my pets to this place again. PS: and reading thru reviews, I find that there is not only inconsistency in policy between responders but the low scoring reviews all saying the same, they are more concerned about money then compassionate proper care of, especially older pets. And their responses are all the same. "Sorry you feel that way"... Maybe if people keep saying it, review your staff and their handling of furry family members.

We live in Rainier, we could not find a vet near us that could do what we needed doing. Fixing 11 week old kittens and fixing a pregnant mother cat. All the vets in the area said, the kittens have to be a least 6 months old and the mother cat is now pregnant again, so there is nothing we can do. No wonder there are so many cats running around. This practice in Tigard responded immediately to our situation using the latest technology in surgery to get the job done effortlessly. We had all the young kittens and momma cared for by Tigard Animal Hospital. All the animals were fully responsive after surgery and all had some of the best smallest surgery incisions, I have every seen. Using the latest technology these people could do what other vets said they could not. We were not only happy we *ONLY* have 4 cats in total now, we have animals that were taken care of very well and all healed perfectly in a week. This practice runs and feels as though it is for people not animals, immaculate and very professional intimate care of our pets. Very fair pricing, very thorough experience from entrance to exams and aftercare results. So for us now, we will be doing a 110 mile round trip from Rainier OR to Tigard OR for anything the cats need. If you want to feel good about going to a vet, go here.

I've been taking my dog to this vet for almost 9 years now and they have been great. They have always tried their hardest to take care of my little girl and they understand that we have a budget too. She's had everything from routine shots to dental cleanings to surgery here and I appreciate the service they provide. Has every visit been perfect... of course not. But the overall feel of the clinic is that they care about my pet and want what is best for her. And since we buy our dog food there too they give us a percentage back on our purchases as credit towards other services in the future. That may not seem like much to some people but I think it is a nice touch.

Some of their techs are genuinely good at what they do. Others care for nothing but money. I brought my dog in with an infection recently. The vet wouldn't look at the wound, but said she would apply a topical and wrap it then left the room. An assistant came back with a thousand dollar bill for tests AND the cures for what they wanted to test for. And she didn't even treat his wound. I had to stop at the pharmacy to get bandages to treat it myself. Later I called for a refill on one med and a friend picked it up while I was at work. They gave me less than half of his normal script and another I never asked for and still made me pay for it. Do not take your family member here if you care about them. Because they don't Edit: just looked at my prescription bottle for a name, Jill Desau. Also remember seeing that name on another very bad review earlier

Puppy and I like the vet techs here and the girls at the front desk are very friendly. My only complaint would be regarding the Paws plan. When it was explained to me I was under the impression it was much like the care plan that is provided at Hannah's. That is until I took my dog in for dental work and wasn't told it was going to cost me $1,370 out of pocket that very day. That is including the $58 fee that is taken out of my account automatically every month. I was not happy about sedating my 11 year old dog only to find out we couldn't proceed because I don't just have $1,300 hanging out in my pocket. I was under the belief that I would be making payments under the Paws plan. No one told me when I signed the paperwork that the dental work would cost me so much out-of-pocket. Needless to say we could'nt proceed.

Wholeheartedly do I recommend Dr. Tamimi! She is everything a veterinarian should be: gentle and kind, knowledgable and informed, patient and understanding, but above all, she embodies compassion. She provided the utmost care for my furbaby Zeusi from diagnoses to the bitter end (euthanasia). I feel lucky to have found her to help me care for my fur family with the resources I have. Thank you DR Tamimi and Tigard Animal Hospital. Sonja Price

Don't let all of the good reviews fool you. They pay to remove all the bad reviews. I know this because every time they send me mail it reminds me of my cat that is now dead and the bad experience I had. I took my sick cat here with a heart condition. They then put my cat under a running printer. Then they told me that he needed all new shots and a poop sample even though I had proof that he had is shots. Then before I left they tried to sell me some horribly expensive food. Don't go here, they don't care about your pet and will try and get every last dollar out of you.

I don't often go to the vet so maybe I'm over reacting. I feel the prices were high and the Treatment plan not thoroughly thought out. After sedating my dog they tried to induce vomiting which of course she was unable to perform since she was so sedated. The cost of The Visit included surgical monitoring anesthetic recovery care and a 1/2 day of hospitalization authorization for a total of $89. Actually time there was 2 hours all told. Dollar amount doesn't include the Office , The x-rays, the cost for The vomit inducing medicineAnd the antibiotics we were sent home with and shorted 8 of and the cost of the sedation. So you tell me is that average?

Annette Richards

Our experience at Tigard Animal Hospital was quite good! Our pet Holland Lop, Leroy, recovered quickly from his neuter surgery and is one happy little bunny :)

Rachel Hickey

Doctor Hendricks is fantastic! And the staff always welcomes us with a smile.

Donna Pankhurst

Always nice people working there. Cost always seems expensive.

Blanca Hegstrom

Staff was super caring and friendly. The vet took her time in evaluating my dog and listened to our concerns, other places would not give us the time. Definitely not a veterinarian that wants to take your money. They truly care about your pets well being. Would definitely recommend this place

Staff are great

We bring our dog and cat here for care. At first I was skeptical about signing up for the Paw Plan they offered, but it has saved us a lot of money in the long run, and it encourages us to bring our pets in for preventive care. If we hadn't brought our dog in this week for a routine cleaning, we might have never known he had a fractured molar until it was too late. Dr. Tran did a great job of taking care of our pets, and the office staff did a great job of making sure we could bring in both of our pets on the same day. I feel confident bringing my sixteen year old cat and my dog to Tigard Animal Hospital.

Domonique Kennedy

I have multiple cats in my home. Two of them started to sneeze last Saturday. I took them to this Animal Hospital on Tuesday and was told they had a virus, but the Vet chose not to medicate them. He was told that I have multiple cats. but he chose to send them home, knowing they would infect the other cats. I now have house full of sneezing cats, and running noses. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.

Steven Thomsen

Excellent vet service!

Tara Boatman

There are several very nice people that work in this office and there is one man (a vet tech) in this office who is the rudest, most unprofessional, passive aggressive individual I have ever met. He belittles everything you say and could care les about you or your pet. I really like my dog's vet (Dr. Lawler) and the service she provides, but my husband and I get the run around every time we bring our 16 year old cat in there. She sees a different vet every time and we get a different story every time we take her in for routine thyroid testing. Unfortunately, we will no longer be bringing either of our pets to this office due to the way we were treated this last go around.

Lisa Pascoal

Great prices caring doctors and friendly staff.

Very caring about your animals welfare. Will give quotes and options so you can make an informed decision on your pets care. O

Carol VanDomelen

Tigard Animal Hospital had always been so helpful and kind when I've brought my dogs in for care. Even whenwi don't have a scheduled appointment, they fit me in quickly. Only reason I give 5 stars instead if 5 is I think they may be a tad expensive, but this being said, I don't have any other vet experience to compare them to

Brian Holman

I've taken all four of our cats there over the years. Very professional, caring and empathetic. I love this place! When we had to put down our cat, they made it a wonderful experience and they've been great with our three new kittens - who just turned 1 year old!

I had two of my cats misdiagnosed here. The same vet diagnosed my two year old with a horrid degree of stomatitis and said that all of her teeth would have to be removed. I have since switched to Cat Care Professionals where the two year old was given a course of antibiotics and she is in perfect shape now! Upselling is bad enough but making this drastic of a misdiagnosis to bring in cash is inexcusable. I never felt like the Drs cared as much about my cats as they do at CCP. Also, the facility is somewhat run-down. I won't be back

Andrew Weiss

By far one of the worst experiences I have ever had with an animal hospital. They consistently overcharge and try to upsell you on their products and services, they're terrible at making recommendations on how to best help your animal, they don't even have the competency to help your animal when they're in need, have no customer service skills, and they lie to make you spend more money. For example, they have a subscription plan where they say, "you can cancel whenever you want." but if you cancel, you still have to pay the remaining funds. I thought only evil corporate companies treated customers like this, but tigard animal hospital found a way to prove us wrong. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Nicole Krussow

Have always taken care of our pets wonderfully!! Highly recommend this vet!

I have been going to Tigard Animal Hospital for 6 years now with Ruby our mini doxie dog. The staff has always been very friendly, professional and caring. I appreciate that they go beyond the normal for vet offices and offer specials pricing for some services.

Keri Athanas

Everyone I have ever encountered here is so nice, one of my best vet experiences for sure. We lived in NE Portland and made the drive down because they were that lovely.

April Shepherd

I have had nothing but the best experience with Dr. Genova and his staff; Dr. Genova provides outstanding care along with all the assistants I have had the pleasure of interacting with over the years. When our Rottweiler Teagan was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) a few years ago; Genova gave us realistic options for her treatment without giving us false hope. I will forever be grateful for the support we received from Genova and the staff during Teagans final days. We now take our German Shepherd to Genova and staff and continue to be impressed by the outstanding service!

Dr. Carissa Tran is an exceptional veterinarian and person. I would highly recommend her care.

Shaun Stiles

We'd been bringing our boxer here for care for the last few years and always had a positive experience. The vet techs are very professional and compassionate. A couple of weeks ago we had to bring our boy in to be put down, quality of life was getting bad due to old age, and they made the experience comfortable in light of our sadness. The vet came out to our car so we didnt have to bring him inside and was very sympathetic through the whole process. We will forever bring our pets to this clinic.

Sara Channing White

I highly recommend this place!! These guys are all so good with animals!!!

Lady Elva

Very sweet, knowledgeable people and they care about the well being of your fur baby. Plus the plans they have to pay for care is wonderful!

alex nechiporuk

They are OK, but check pricing before buying any products/medications from them. At least in my experience, they offered the most expensive option, with a huge markup. My interpretation, we want to make money more than we care about your pet.

Jenn Nau

I really trust the staff at T.A.H. with my pet. I actually drive 1/2 hour out of my way to take my Chihuahua, Cliche, to T.A.H. instead of the more conveniently located vet clinics in my area. Their services are reasonably priced, there is seldom much of a wait if your show up with no appointment, and they're grey at explaining everything they do. They got Cliche through a particularly rough time a few years ago, and ever since then I wouldn't take her anywhere else.

Cy Scannella

Went here with a complimentary coupon I got off their website. Vet examined the big huge recent lump on my dog's backside. Did the whole nine yards checking her up and was extremely helpful even though I had a thousand questions. Sent me home with advice and some probiotics for her bowel issues. Very pleased with the office staff as well.

life everlasting

Terrible. I only gave it a star because it won't let me leave a review otherwise. I took my dog in for what looked like an abcess somehow the vet started looking at her teeth, said she had several broken and recommended pulling all her canines. I immediately found a dental specialists, just left there and she has NO broken teeth and her canines are in great shape, she has normal wear from chewing bones. I'm so glad I didn't just take her recommendation, I won't ever go here again, all they've done is offer drugs and surgery. They should be ashamed.

I am very disappointed with Tigard animal hospital. One of my dogs has allergic reaction to the Rabies vaccination and apparently when my husband took her in to get DHLPP and Corona vaccines, we got charge for a pre-med injection of $55,-. When I called them back, seemed like the guy confused because on her record didn't specify what vaccine that my dog allergic to. Since my dog was a puppy, we always took her to this place and many times I have mentioned (to the technician or the Dr.) the only allergy that she have is to Rabies Vaccine. Is it very difficult to put it on her chart? Evidently, they don't have a good system of keeping patient records. Sorry guys, but I can't trust these people. Is not about the money, but they have given her something that she doesn't even need it. Now, all of the dogs are going to Banfield Animal Hospital, and we are very satisfied with them! (at least they have a better patient charting system).

Katrina Rounds

I did a lot of veterinarian searching before I got my dogs, and chose Tigard Animal Hospital out of the many clinics I visited. I've taken both my dogs here since they were puppies, and have received nothing but professional and compassionate treatment every time. I've had all my dogs' "maintenance" stuff done here (shots, spaying, etc) as well as a couple of minor emergencies (bad reaction to bee stings) and have always left feeling great about my choice in veterinary clinic. The vets even call the next day to check in on my dogs after their more serious visits. They honor the Oregon Spay and Neuter group pricing, and have great discounted "puppy packages" for shots, deworming, etc. Compared to a lot of the other clinics I looked at, if you're going to be getting started with a new puppy, it's a great deal. All the employees, from the front desk to the vets, genuinely care about the animals and owners they're serving. I've dealt with two of the vets several times apiece, and they both have always taken plenty of time with the exams and making sure I understand the reasons behind everything, and what I can do to help my dogs be the healthiest they can be. Even when the vets or the techs recommend certain things (for instance, lyme disease shots since we go camping/hiking a lot) I've never felt any pressure to buy extra products or services. Am so glad I found this clinic.

Megan Smart

I brought my pomeranian in on Monday with symptoms of lethargy, increased thirst and urination, and not wanting to eat. I informed the office that she was not spayed. The vet didn't even suggest pyometra even though she had all the symptoms and a fever. The next day she was getting worse and I searched the symptoms myself and was convinced she had it so I took her to the emergency vet. I was right, she had pyometra and her fever was even higher. She would have died if I had not brought her in. Why is it that I (a person with no medical training) was able to diagnose her and the vet could not? Never coming here again. Edit: In your reply you say you wish you could have done the blood work to "confirm a pyometra diagnosis" but the vet didn't even MENTION it as a possibilty. I had to come up with it on my own. Plus blood work wouldn't definitively confirm pyometra, just an infection. Thank you for the will wishes, but unfortunately I can't entrust you with her care again.

These wonderful people, truly thankful for the care we always recieve.

Rusty Tracey

Got my 14 month old kitten/cat neutered today and they were very helpful with the whole process, and made sure I didn't have any questions before I left. Helpful, but not pushy with over the counter meds/extras. Neuter, flea treatment, anesthesia, either and vaccines came to about $110. And took about 3 hours. Oh, free examination, and they even trimmed his claws!

K Gillies

I got my cat spayed here and they were great. The appointment was super easy to schedule and the receptionist was very helpful when I called. When my husband took the our kitty in the staff was again very helpful and caring. My cat recovered nicely and someone from the hospital even made a post-op phone call to see how the "patient" was doing :-) I would recommended Tigard Animal Hospital to any of my friends.

Phantom The Man

Great staff! Wonderful feeling everytime our little family walks in. I know they actually care about my dog. And who could forget such a face, but still! They treat every client just the same!

Courteous and caring place to take your pets!

I've been bringing my Corgi here for a few years. I enrolled in their Paw Plan last year and have been pleased with the regular checkups and annual teeth cleaning. My partner also brings her cat here and has been happy with the service as well. I've always been treated professionally. I highly recommend them. -Chris

I switched over from Banfield with my Senior dog, and this has to be the friendliest and most attentive place I have been to. Their communication is impeccable, they treat my dog with respect, and they don't try to upsell me a bunch of stuff I or he doesn't need. I would highly, highly recommend Tigard Animal Hospital.

Michael Iwicki

They are friendly and flexible. I can not say enough about the staff and service.

Mike Schoap

They were incompetent at handling my dog. She is now terrified of the white coated vet. They botched a blood test, then wanted me to come in again to do it over at my expense. They tried to sell me something extra at every visit.

Dr. Cobb was knowledgeable and skilled, as well as compassionate with my older dog.

Excellent staff and doctors. I recently needed my rabbit's paw looked at and the Doctor was helpful, knowledgeable and the appointment was quick. Was able to take him back one week later for a checkup and he was healed. It is great to have rabbit vet doctors who are experienced and knowledgeable!

We love the Tigard Animal Hospital! We've been taking our pets for 5+ years now and even though we just moved to Vancouver, we still plan on driving out to TAH for our vet needs. They have always been fantastic. They always spend plenty of time with you and are willing to answer any and all questions pertaining to the care of your pet. One of our cats was very sick with "fatty liver" and in danger of not pulling through but with their excellent care she made it and today she is fit as a fiddle! They do have a dental club which another reviewer mentioned hearing that they "like to push" but actually, I think it's a wonderful service and has ended up saving us lots of money for our two older felines. I also just got a postcard that mentioned they are now offering Wellness Plans which I think I will also look into. They also are great with feral cats!...they know how to handle them and get them spayed/neutered so that they can be re-released without adding to the population. Overall, best vet experience to date!

Only reason didn't give 5* is because of the long wait time. Was told they could see me 1/2 hr earlier if I wanted to come in then. Didn't think I could get there by then, but ended up arriving about 40 minutes early. Wasn't seen until 15 min after my scheduled time, so was there for almost an hour before being seen, even though was told I could move appt to half hr earlier than scheduled. By the time done had been there over 2.5 hrs for pre-spay appt.

The staff here are attentive and always make room in their schedule for urgent visits. They really care about your pets and often call later to check on them if one was ill or injured.

My first impression of the Tigard Animal Hospital was very good. All of the employees there were extremely nice and they are a very flexible place!!! But recently I've spoken to a guy named "Todd" I believe. He is very unpleasant to talk too. He wouldn't let me explain things, interrupted me several times, and I asked him if he could fax my puppies neutering papers over to the vet he was previously seeing and they never received anything. I will not be returning because of him.

Cindy Liljegren

Dr. Miller was very personable, knowledgeable and explained things very well. I would highly recommend her. Everyone else at the clinic were great too. A positive experience.

All of my pets go here and they love it! The doctors are all amazing and the veterinary team clearly love their jobs and their patients. I wouldn't trust my pets anywhere else!

brought my beagle in last week to have a cyst looked at on her foot. was initially told by doctor that it was solid and would need to be surgically removed. I asked her put a needle in it to remove some cells to check if it may be cancerous. Moments later she came back in with my dog and said she was able to drain it after all. I then asked for her to give me an estimate to get her teeth cleaned. She briefly looked in her mouth and said they were all bad and then gave me a detailed estimate of how many extractions would be necessary. She listed 33 teeth which blew me away! On top of that the estimate was for $2400!!! She then said if they start fallen out while I'm cleaning them, I'm gonna charge ya! I walked out of there feeling very upset and was shocked by her insensitive attitude so I texted a friend who gave me a number to her Vet to get a second opinion. I took my beagle in yesterday, the doctor examined her and told me realistically it appeared she would need to extract around five teeth and if any were already loose prior to cleaning she wouldn't charge me. She was very professional, comforting and kind and provided an estimate between $500 to $600. I agreed to their terms and they did the work the same day. My beagle ended losing 13 teeth which most were pretty bad but it sure wasn't the 33 TAH listed on their estimate! My total cost was $620! Tigard hospital was going to charge me 4 x more for the exact same work! I will not be bringing any of my pets back to THA. They have lost a loyal customer. Makes me wonder how many other customers were overcharged like this?

We’ve been taking our dog to Tigard Animal Hospital since we first got him as a puppy. They are always super caring and sweet to our fur baby. In the past, I’ve had pets with anxiety associated with a vet visit, but not here. The minute we pull up, his tail starts wagging and wags the entire visit as he greets all of his friends. Every vet tech, employee and doctor remembers him and gives him pets and love. Even after vaccines, uncomfortable temp checks and nail trims, he comes out of the back room, head high, trotting like a pony. Also, they are always very up front about costs and make every effort to give me information and have saved us money. We live further away from this location now, but wouldn’t think of visiting any other vet!

Great animal hospital!

This Vet's priority is making money off you - not what's best for your pet. DO NOT RISK YOUR PET'S LIFE HERE. I was new to the area and took my dog here despite all of the bad reviews because they were open on Saturday and my dog needed to be seen immediately. After an exam the Vet convinced me that her problems could be cured by changing medications: she was on 3 medications at the time and they wanted to change some of those and add her to 3 more. In addition, they wanted to do more tests and blood work to confirm their prognosis. When the vet tech brought me the medications they had given me a 3+ month dose of the medications. I questioned the quantity because we weren’t sure if they would even work. They told me that if there was a problem with the medications they would “take care of it”. I paid my 500$ bill and left hopeful that this medication would help her get better. Later that night they called and said the blood work came back OK which reassured me that her issues would be resolved by the new meds. Over the next few days she didn’t get better or drastically worse. I called asking for the vet that saw me and they said that she was off for the rest of the week and there was no way I could leave her a message (they could leave a note for her). I asked to talk to another Vet and they said no one else was available and that I should call back another time. The following morning my dog took a serious turn for the worse so I took her to another vet where we battled organ failure for a day or so before we put her down. I don’t know if it was the new medications that caused the issues but that’s not the point of this review: I can give them the benefit of the doubt on their treatment because I understand that this kind of care is far from perfect. The reason I’m taking the time to write this review is the lack of compassion from nearly everyone I talked to after she had died. We talked to several people at this place before anyone even thought to give condolences or ask what happened. They didn't even want to begin to have the conversation about how this could have happened. I asked to give the medication back and they said I could donate it to them but they couldn’t refund back the cost of the medication, exam, or tests. I talked to the vet in charge and she came down hard on the business side like you would expect when dealing with a car dealership or broker...not a vet. The lack of compassion from everyone we’ve dealt with at Tigard Animal Hospital was disgusting. It’s 100% clear that this place is about making money first. Stay far away, if it’s an emergency or the weekend and your regular vet is closed don’t do what I did and ignore all of the horror stories on yelp. Go somewhere else.

Amazing staff! Building is very clean, too. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. The process for a new client is quick and easy, plus you can make appointments online. I highly recommend Tigard Animal Hospital for all your pet needs. I have a semi-hyperactive pup and they know just how to care for him. And they spoil him when he's being a good boy :-)

Our beloved family dog was diagnosed with Pyometra by another Animal Hospital yesterday. The staff at that hospital gave us a quote for $2,000- $2,500 and told us if she didn't have the surgery she could die in a couple of days. My husband and I tried everything to come up with the money as fast as we could but couldn't. Our kids were sobbing in fear that we would loose our eldest dog and there was nothing we could do. After taking advice from a family member and a family friend who told us she needed to get spayed, we chose to look at other options. Through the Oregon Humane Society we were referred to the Tigard Animal Hospital. We called and even though they were booked, they asked us to bring Sophie in right a way and quoted us over the phone $140. My husband rushed Sophie in and they were there waiting for her. They assured my husband everything would be ok and even though Sophie showed signs of her cervix being closed and the infection in her uterus, that their doctors were very skilled and she would be ok. Later they called and said they were able to get a donation for Sophie's surgery so the money we were going to put towards her surgery would be able to go towards other things she needed. Because we lived in Portland, my husband was planning on staying in Tigard until he could bring Sophie home. Then an employee who lives closer to us offered to bring Sophie back with her and meet us closer to home. All because she wanted to make sure Sophie had enough time to rest before she came home. Sophie had some complications during the surgery. The puss from the infection leaked into her stomach. The Doctor spent 15 minutes flushing out her stomach and gave her an antibiotic shot to fight any other infections that might spread to her organs. Sophie is a fighter and she came out of surgery great. I loved getting a call from the Dr. who performed the surgery because he was able to explain everything to me and what we needed to do for Sophie. After everything that Sophie went though, this was the best place for her to be. She is so loved by my family and Tigard Animal Hospital showed her every ounce of love that she deserves. Because of extra antibiotics the bill was slightly higher. By that I mean $50.00. But it was worth every penny and more. My family will always be thankful to the Doctors and staff. I trust them more than our the vet we have had for 8 years. A Million Thanks!! My kids instantly wanted to show the staff how much we love them for what they have done for Sophie. This is just the begining.

Over the last 15 years I have had nothing but positive experiences. This also applies to my cats.

Zero(I had to put one star).....I had been taking my dog/cat for care here and no complaints, I had heard all the comments by others saying how Tigard Animal Hospital up-sells and is expensive, but the staff were very nice and helpful and I had not had any concerns. Then took my little chihuahua in for pain in her back because she jumped off the bed accidentally. Now I have taken my pets to some of the best vets on the west coast in Southern California and have experience and knowledge in the different modalities available like, acupuncture, cold laser, chiropractic and rehabilitation. When I brought my chihuahua in I knew the problem and was expecting some pain meds, and I would do in-home therapies I knew, but Dr. Lawler said she knew veterinary chiropractic and she could adjust her....now mind you I have seen this done and vets use what they call "activators" which are like soft little taps on the affected areas with an instrument specifically designed for this.....so when she picked up my dog I thought she was assessing her , but before I could say stop, she pushed my dog to her chest, with a chest to chest position, which scared the heck out of my dog and squeezed her , which caused my little one to scream in pain because it caused her knee to pull out, injuring her patella(they have very small knees/patellas)! Now she already had one bad knee from a slip, and I had it treated and so I knew what happened. THIS IS NOT HOW YOUR ADJUST DOGS, ESPECIALLY SMALL DOGS AND THIS MANEUVER OR WHAT EVER SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS DOING INJURED MY DOG! So I called around and got in touch with my old vet in So Cal, and they said they had never heard of such a procedure to push the dog to the vets chest, this would certainly make the dog scared and that would not help nor was this recommended. I contacted them to complain, and got no where, asking for credentials and licensee to perform chiropractic, nothing to verify any education. I also asked how they could help, and short of surgery, there was nothing, like they did not know how to handle this or other options to care for my dog? Now mind you, my daughter works for 2 of the most respected emergency/specialty vets out of state, so she instructed me to ask certain questions and she got information as well on the supposed "adjustment", Dr. Lawler tried, which no vet had ever heard of. So I went to the vet board here in Oregon and all they could get was the clinics director Dr. Genova (who was no help) telling them that she did have some training in Texas?, but no details on how or where she got her training or credentials. I cannot tell you how irresponsible it is to practice a procedure you are not fully trained hands-on, certified, and licensed in (never saw or was presented with any certification or verification when I requested it), with no verification available upon request. I trusted this establishment, and it seems that that the health of my poor little dog is not important to them, especially with her whole life ahead of her, especially in regard to her mobility and I take really, really good care of my animals like family and spare no expense. I have since gone to another vet who is absolutely wonderful and I am treating her knee(s) and she is doing really well; with common treatment/modalities that Tigard Animal Hospital could not provide. I have nothing good to say about Tigard Animal Hospital. If the vets are practicing veterinary care this way on something like this, I could not imagine trusting any vet that performs like this with more serious or invasive surgeries that could have more dire consequences...like death! ZERO ON TRUST. FYI: this was a few years back and just wanted people to know, I am glad this review site is available, did not know.

Very happy with this vet. We tried them when we moved to the area, and were so pleased with the friendly, knowledgeable, caring staff that we haven't even considered going anywhere else. :-) It doesn't hurt that their prices are very reasonable, as well.

To describe inclusive and well trained customer service at it's highest levels would be to simply sit and watch this crew in action. Highly trained in animal trauma their staff will, without blinking an eye work through customer's traumatic, confused, and saddened human psychology at the same time while processing unique health matters and or flat out emergencies. Scheduled and non scheduled emergencies come in by the scads every hour due to their incredible reputation. The staff don't really sit. They whizz or jog. Every staff member cross trained as they weave through multi-tasking intake, phones, patients, animal transport, rooms, ICU, doctors, techs, you name it. My 12 year old Brittany Spaniel 'Hope' has had the same doctor for three years. This doctor/animal surgeon has saved her life in emergency situations twice now. Both situations were complex, confusing in the nature of the cause, most likely something ingested on a hiking trail which caused a massive bleed. Imagine doing hours worth of diagnostics and you have 10 minutes. That's it. 10 minutes. Because we animal lovers and owners see our pets as family, the intense pressure of the situation is no different than say the ICU at St. VIncent Hospital. I think if you are considering what professional group to entrust your family member to, you will taken into very capable hands on every level.

TAH is truly an excellent animal hospital. It's well run, from the top down. Importantly, management has excellent ethics, which is reflected in the care my animals receive from all the staff at your hospital. Thank you so much for the care, kindness, and understanding that you've extended to us. I'd also like to add that your policy of helping animal rescues deliver care to animals in need is MOST appreciated.

A year ago I gave this place 4 stars. Today im changing it to 1. They were great for routine care, but as soon as your pet is sick go somewhere else!!!! My pet was progressively getting worse for WEEKS under their care and they did nothing but give her antibiotics. After countless visits and no answers we took her to another clinic and they saved her life. Any longer under the supervision of Tigard Animal Hospital and she absolutely would have died.

Keli L

Love all the staff, great with the animals

Voodoo Vixen

I have had nothing but great experiences at this animal hospital. They take such good care of me and cats every time! They have a separate cat door to keep the stress level down and they offer spa towels which are dipped in calming pheromones to place over my cat carrier to keep the environment "fear-free". There is a separate room for cats that doesn't smell like dogs and is on the other side of the hallway from the noise of other patients being seen. Obviously the owners love cats! The receptionists and nurses are so gentle and are always smiling and the doctor has always gone above and beyond to make sure we get the best care, even on a budget. Five stars and extra purrs from me and my cat family!

Caren Van Kleek

We have had amazing care for our "furry" family members for 13+ years. We wouldn't dream about taking our pets to any other veterinarian clinic. Not only are the doctor's exceptional but the "vet tech's" are a major part in the hands-on care of our pets. Over the years our family has grown closer and closer to the genuine, caring, sincere expertise and love that the entire team shows our animals and the courtesy they share equally with the owner's too. If you're looking for a veterinarian clinic that will meet your animals needs with professional care and years of experience let me welcome you to your new home where your pets will be cared for the same way you care for them at home!

RUN, RUN, RUN away from these incompetent people! If your dog has diabetes, these people have zero help. They do not know what they are doing, but $$$$$$$ is their objective. My 85 year old father came to these people to have them do a diabetic test which was supposed to have been done on an hourly basis for the day on his miniature poodle. Dad came to pick up the dog at and was told they didn't complete the test. They charged him $284 anyway. So happy we found new vet whom actually cares. The new vet immediately performed the hourly test for an entire day and found out crucial information. We are finally on our way to keeping our little guy alive and well. This new vet didn't charge my dad for the day of tests because the doctor felt so bad that the Tigard Veterinarian Hospital took advantage of my father. SHAME ON TIGARD VETERINARIAN HOSPITAL CLINIC. The last think I would do is have my father get stressed out even more by you people. Your suggestion is horrible. By the way, if I'm not not on my dad's account to discuss the above .I find it interesting you let me be pick up the dog. I guess this isn't important to you.

Great care, overpriced though, so we will have to change out vet. Over 300$ for antibiotic vist for bodetella and follow up. Did not even include vaccinations. Had pay additional 60 for doxycycline and drive to lake Oswego for that

Shauna O'Neal

This office seems fine for basic vaccinations, but my experience for other services (trying to get a prescription for a medication my cat has had before, and boarding while I'm out of town) left me feeling like my pets were in inexperienced, uncommunicative, profit-centered hands. I have 2 cats, siblings, who do pretty poorly when separated-- so when I dropped them off for a week of boarding, I requested they be housed together, and checked the "call me before administering" box in regards to anxiety medication. When I came to pick them up, I found that my cats had been separated for the majority of their boarding, and that they had been fighting-- incredibly atypical for them, and not something they've ever done in boarding or vet visits, ever. When I mentioned how irregular this was, the staff told me this was really common in new environments (this environment isn't new to my cats, we've been coming since July), because of stress-- ok, fine. But when my cats were apparently displaying signs of anxiety that warranted separation, which has, in the past, made them very, very anxious, I never got a call about a need for anxiety medication, a change in housing arrangement that I had specifically asked not occur, or anything else related to how they were doing. I was also told at pickup that my cats were fighting too much for staff to put them in the same carrier. Again, this is so incredibly off from how they behave (they are lazy cuddle monsters), so I asked to see them, mostly to see if they were ok. I wasn't allowed to see them (the vet, who I never saw, told a tech to tell me "that won't help"), but the office happily handed me both cats in separate carriers, one of which they said I could just bring back later. It took me about 45 seconds in the car to transfer my very docile cats into their home carrier, and I immediately handed the extra back to the receptionist. My cats slept on top of each other the whole way home. I don't know what the hell happened in that office. I think there's a fair chance my cats were miserable and separated most of the time they were boarded-- and I recognize that this may have been unavoidable, it's possible that they really were exhibiting super-weird behaviors they've never had at any other office in the 8 years I've been getting them vet care. But if so, I should have been called. I didn't feel like they handled communication with me very well, and I'm not convinced they took care of my animals well. Since that's literally all I pay them for, I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend them.

Kristina Giordano

This way by far the most unprofessional vets office I've ever been to. My dog had a lump on her leg and my family and I were extremely concerned so we brought her to this office. The doctor that came in to evaluate our dog was NEGATIVE and jumped to conclusions leaving me emotional thinking I was going to lose my pet. I went to get a second opinion, and it wasn't nearly as horrific as she made it seem to be. - I don't recommend this place.

Gunning Malone

Really friendly and professional staff. Quick and easy visits. My only complaint is that it is hard to get into the parking lot heading north on 99.

Bob Toan

I first found TAH when I needed a kitten to be vaccinated for the first time, their follow up care kept me driving out of my way to return to them when I adopted a dog and fostered two sick kittens. Each time I have been there I have been impressed with their friendliness, service, and general skill and would strongly recommend them.

Amy Jenkins

Dr. Tran and staff are very professional and caring. The know that your fur babies are part Your family, the treat you and them with respect!!

Jen Parache

I have brought my JRT Gadget to Tigard Animal Hospital for years. Usually, we see Dr. Lawler, but have seen other veterinarians at this office when she is unavailable. It's great to get my furry kid seen when we need to, even during times that his usual dog doctor is not available. A+ for convenience! Aside from convenience, I would like to say that it is incredibly apparent how much this group loves their patients. They are very conscientious about what my pup needs (lose that last pound!), and are honest about what he doesn't actually need (he already has perfect teeth). I love that I can have a collegial conversation with his veterinarian, rather than being spoken down to, as has happened at other vet offices. I have now registered my cousin's dog with TAH (she has several health issues, and she's a lovable brat). I know I can trust them with her! Looking forward to several more healthy, happy dog years with both these pups at TAH.

Nan W

We've had pets for 40 years and been to many veterinarian offices. This is by far the best veterinarian office we have ever been to! So knowledgable, attentive and caring - I would not take my best friends any where else!!

Beverly O'Brien

I had to have my precious dog-Suzy put down after 14 years of great care from Tigard Animal Hospital. I have had wise, caring advice from both Dr. Genova and Dr. Lawler. the vet tech-Debbie even cried when we had to put Suzy down. They have cared for my golden retriever lovingly throughout the years. She developed a cancerous tumor at the age of 5 and through their careful treatment, it did not appear again until the age of 14. I have wonderful care too with my cats that they have treated. I would recommend them!

Pam Durham van Wingerden

Great staff at all levels. Everyone takes time to listen to questions. Easy to get appointments. And they have weekend hours, bonus!

Malena Volpendesta

I have been going to Tigard Animal Hospital for 4 years now, first with my older cat and for the last 2 years with my dog. The staff has always been very friendly, professional and caring. I had to put my cat to sleep a year ago and the staff made sure that I knew all my options first before making the decision (she was an older cat with a wide range of health problems). The Doctor and staff were so understanding and empathetic. They have never tried to sell me anything like food, extra shots, etc. that I didn't need and I find their prices for exams and shots to be very affordable. I would definitely recommend Tigard Animal Hospital.
