Riverside Animal Hospital staff have provided wonderful service for our dog when he needed care for recent injuries. We were able to get same day appointments for both injuries (gored by a deer and later a second injury to his foot that became infected.) The vets provided prompt care, clear aftercare instructions, instructed us on changing wound dressings and were caring and compassionate to our dog. They provided accurate cost estimates prior to proceeding with surgeries. The staff is friendly and the facilities are clean and modern. We feel very confident in the care and advice we have received by this veterinary team!

Dr Hart at Riverside Animal clinic cares for all four of my animals, three cats and one dog. I have never had a vet who connects with my animals like she does. She fully understands how my animals are almost like children to me. She takes the time to explain everything at our visits and I leave with a clear understanding. Two of my cats have had surgery performed by her and the outcome was great. The staff are also kind and compassionate. I highly recommend Dr Hart and staff

But what really got me was they don't have bathrooms for their customers, so we had to walk across the street to the Chevron and use their bathrooms, which they were irritated about. I would go there again but it wouldn't be my first second or third choice.

My boyfriend researched vets near us, and although we live in southern MA, this place had the best reviews and best prices. I am so glad he found this animal hospital! Upon taking our kitten to his first appointment (at a convenient time after we were both home from work), the three employees who greeted us were immediately friendly and welcoming. You can tell they love their jobs and the pets and owners! Dr. Anna (forgive my forgetting her last name!) is an all-around amazing person; easy to talk to and a breath of fresh air. They answered all of our questions/concerns and even gave us a free sample of flea and tick preventative medication. We left the place raving about our experience (and feeling reassured that our kitten will have good people taking care of him when he is neutered). I cannot praise them enough after just one appointment!

I have had doggies my whole life and experienced numerous vets through the years. I have NEVER encountered the degree of loving, compassionate, and thorough care as I have received from Riverside. My beloved beagle had to be put down recently from a rather sudden hemangiosarcoma cancer diagnosis. When the dreaded time came for him to be put down, Misha and Dr. Putnam came to our house. They were here an hour for what was a beautiful, caring, compassionate and very loving ceremony of his passing. A couple weeks later, I received a lovely hand made condolence card filled with individual loving messages from each of the staff from Riverside. I was moved to tears by this most gracious and caring act of kindness. I cannot say enough wonderful words about Riverside Hospital. I love all of you. Thank you for all your wonderful care of all three of my beagles!

I don't even know where to begin in expressing my appreciation for the whole team here. My boy is a Pitbull/Mastiff & a BIG boy who HAD a BAD habbit of jumping up on people in happiness when he met them. Unfortunately his vets forehead and his block head met during a visit and she ended up with a bleeding gash over her eye. She could have ended the appointment right then or sent someone else in but she didnt. She steped out of the room to tend to her wound and came right BACK in to continue our visit like nothing happened. We were there because my boy had a growth on his back paw that my whole family was concerned about. Only a tiny sample was successfully gathered for a biopsy. His vet told me right out that she wasnt comfortable with the amount she got and wasnt going to send it out to the lab, have us spend all that money to only have us have to redo it because there wasnt enough. She did tell me that she believed the growth would dry up and eventually fall off within 3 months and that if it didnt, we could opt to have it removed. That day I was only charged for the medication that they gave us to keep him calm and off his foot for a while. THATS IT! I was expecting close to a $100.00 visit, but it ended up being 1/3 of it! Because we pay cash out of pocket they ALWAYS give me a detailed breakdown of cost for his next visit. Most times it ends up even less then what I was prepared for. The staff is SOOO WONDERFUL with my BIG (close to 100lb) 1yo baby its absolutely impressive and ALWAYS make my heart smile. Because hes still a bit excitable (just turned 1) ill peek through the glass door to see if the waiting room is empty. The person at the desk will either wave me in if the cost is clear or, they will guide us directly into a room RIGHT AWAY! Often I'll hear staff members say "ENZO's HERE!" from behind the doors and shortly after they will come say "Hi" to my boy because they're always curious on HOW BIG is is now.. After he was neutered they called me later that day to check on him and to see how he was doing. They also called us about the growth on his foot around the 3 month mark to check on him and see how he was doing. Just as the vet said, it had slowly shrivelled down to almost nothing and was about to fall off. I worked customer service for 32 years, so when I receive service that speakes volumes for itself, the staff, and its clients in such a natural and caring way I appreciate it more then THEY could even imagine. Enzo & my whole family absolutely recommend Riverside Animal Hospital to all fur mommies, daddy's, brothers, sisters, aunts & uncles!!!

The staff is very professional and caring. They go the extra mile for their clients. The staff like what they do and it shows. Riverside Animal Hospital has been taking care of our 2 dogs now for 6 years. Our dogs are getting older and require more care as they age, so we visit Riverside several times each year for each dog. Each of our pets are greeted as old friends, the staff frequently remember them just by sight. They are extremely attentive. The vets are very professional and know their jobs extremely well. We've had a few surgeries done and I've always been surprised at how quickly our animals have fully recovered from their procedures. I would recommend Riverside to any pet owner.

We were warmly greeted by the reception staff and quickly taken to our exam room where we were met by a friendly technician. Dr. Menasco then came in to give Little Man his thorough check up. i brought my 17m old puppy in on an emergency visit after he was attacked by a group of neighborhood teenage a**holes who threw rocks at him cutting his head open. the staff was very nice and genuinely concerned for his well-being. they quoted me 950 for the surgery that he had to go into. i didnt have that much money to pay for it upfront so they helped me thru the process of applying for "care credit" through one of their partners. Unfortunately i was only approved for 600 and i was going to have to come up with the remainder which i agreed to. the staff and doctors understood my situation and said they would do what they could to keep the costs as low as possible. The following day when i came in to pick up Rolly, they informed me that they were able to bring my price down to $560 because surgery went according to plan and Rolly is nopw doing great. very accommodating with all my questions and helpful beyond belief. Thank you Riverside for everything you did for me and my Canine Companion

My 16 year old schnauzer split her toenail hiking while passing through Bend. Upon the recommendation of a local hiker I called RAH and they got me into an appointment the next day. Dr. Jones was amazing, as was all of the staff, doing everything to take care of my sweet dog (and of me). This place really loves animals and their people- their exquisite attention to my dog’s health was beyond professional and their after-care (emails sent checking in) left me feeling secure that my girl would be happy, healthy, and ready for more hiking in no time. With all of this, one may think the price for such care to be outrageous (but she’s my dog!!!!!); however, their fee was extraordinarily fair. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking such good care of my sweet dog.

I will never return here and I'd like to encourage everyone else to stay away. Where to start? The vet tech we dealt with for most of the visit manhandled my dog like he was a piece of luggage and flirted with me in front of my girlfriend. They sent in someone new every thirty seconds to help the veterinarian restrain my dog while they took painful skin scrapings, which was unbelievably stressful for him. They did diagnose his problem - and then they left us alone in a freezing exam room for over forty-five minutes. Yet another employee we'd never seen before popped in to deliver a $300 bill - apparently that covers a brief exam, skin scraping, slide exam, and ivermectin to treat puppy mange. Puppy mange, by the way, is a common condition that doesn't usually need to be treated at all. Ivermectin is a common chemical - and it absolutely does not cost $120. No one explained the bill to us or talked to us at all after the girl who delivered it scurried away looking ashamed of herself. I waited to speak to the vet herself before paying, and she explained that the extra cost is for the graduated syringes so that you can get the dosages just right. Which is an understandable concern for someone whose first idea is to prescribe a neurotoxin to a dog with a non-contagious condition that typically resolves itself. We barely talked about baths, nothing about his diet or activity - straight to the bill and the expensive, *dangerous* drugs. This clinic is in a neighborhood where many people just can't afford to be fleeced while they try to care for their pets, and if I hadn't already had this problem with other dogs I might not have known anything was wrong. I'd have been *happy* to hand them $200 for an examination that the mobile vet will do for $30. Shame on these people - I wonder if they've thought about how much these practices are hurting the animals they're supposed care for.

When a Veterinarian calls YOU to ask what your dog is taking for an RX refill, it's scary. Extremely disorganized, seek another vet, trust me! Misdiagnosed, misinformed and that is scary as they are the "professionals". This is the second time this happened. My dog is sick with a desease that can ultimately end her life, yet they're confused as to what she's taking: I wouldn't trust my dog's life in her hands. Last, way overpriced!

I thought this place was ok, but I guess I was wrong. I don't like being lied to. My dog takes a prescription for his thyroid. We all know that if you buy the pills at a vets office your going to pay through the nose. What they want for a 2 months supply is over 90 bucks when I can get the same thing from 1800petmeds for 25 bucks. Big big difference. But that's not even my complaint. My complaint is that too be told by the receptionist that it's illegal to get an approval through a fax or a phone call from an online company is completely false and not true. They just don't want to do the extra paperwork to send an approval to the online company. Maybe their just hoping you give up and buy the medication from them. Where you'll be paying 3 times what you can get it for from 1800petmeds. To solve this problem I had. I called my other vet up. I asked them if it's ok if 1800petmeds send you a fax for an authorization for my dogs thyroid pills. They said of course. Not a problem at all. To be told that it's illegal and that I quote, " I've been doing this for 10 years." I guess after ten years she doesn't know that it is 100 percent completely legal. I gave it 2 stars, because the few times I've gone there. The staff are very friendly and they take great care of your dog. Especially the girl that brings your dog in and out of the back room to the front. She's super friendly. I just don't like being lied to.

Made appointment for rabies/health check for a dog we adopted from humane society that was taken from previous owner due to neglect and or abuse. When we came for appointment , we were told we could not see vet it was only a tech appointment. We proceeded to tell he had possible health issues and skin issues. After the tech took our dog back to give the rabies shot. Alley came over raising her voice and very rude and tried to say that she made the appointment today and there was no way they could give the check up. I then told her we made the appointment 3 days ago. That's when she got even older and even ruder. All in all I would not recommend this clinic.

We are transferring our pets' care to a different vet. The last several visits have been unpleasant to negative. Staff don't acknowledge people or engage in even the most basic of positive ways. Wait times for appointments are excessive and then important information doesn't get communicated so visits are wasted or pet has to stay with them for testin that the appointment was scheduled for. As a pet owner, I've felt that my input is unwanted and the only options presented are no care or expensive tests in order to continue with treatments. I am so disappointed and frustrated but feel like finding a new veterinary home for my pets is the only way to ensure they can get quality, timely and cost effective care.

I can't say enough great things about Riverside. I switched to their clinic after my cat was not properly cared for at a different clinic. Riverside surpassed my expectations. My elderly cat was in late stage renal failure. Dr. Casey researched new therapies and options for him rather than relying on the normal protocol. She even called other vets around the country to get the best information. Ultimately, my cat was not able to benefit from the new treatment option, but I am super grateful for her effort and dedication. I was able to recommend the treatment for a friend's cat. It seems to be working very well for her. I recently adopted 2 kittens. Once again, I am very pleased with the care they have received. I know the doctors at Riverside will help ensure their health and happiness. Thank you!

We recently moved to the area and after work the first day here we found that our dog had a fist sized abscess appear suddenly on her chest. We weren’t even moved in yet and needed to find a vet quickly. When I called around first thing the next morning to get an appt. same day I found out how hard that truly was until I called Riverside. Not only did they work hard to fit me in same day they were excellent with my dog and very friendly to my family. The doctor was very reassuring and helpful and didn’t try to price gouge or upsell something I didn’t truly need which is important to me. I would highly recommend this vet for your pet. Always fishing for a "diagnosis".. Crissy & Nicole always wonderful. However, one of their front desk coworkers should learn some etiquette. As I made the trip in after missing a call with my dogs blood results, this person proceeds to inform me its very busy (3 rooms with 2 occupied), and the " doctor" may not have time to sit and discuss results. I simply said I would wait (considering I had just missed a call, and it is my dogs BLOOD WORK RESULTS). She continues to state that I may need to wait until they close at 6:00p.m. I left frustrated and stunned with this rude person (who clearly couldnt care less as she laughs). Low and behold, the "doctor" miraculously found 2 whole minutes to call me. Informing her (after she takes 1 minute to tell me results were fine!), I informed her of her rude employee. Didn't phase her in the least. I wonder the reason of her not taking the 2 minutes while I was there, and willing to wait, but opts to call me. What did we need to have a "sit down" over? Never again. I'm confident they couldnt care less, as its been proven previously.

Add a very dissatisfied yesterday! I had to reschedule my dogs appointment which ended up with us seeing a different vet. The girl that reschedule the appointment gave me a time of 12:45. After the vet gave my dogs their shots i asked if she could look in my dogs ear to see if he had earmites. She said no I can't I have to go to lunch and your appointment was at 12:30. You'll have to make an appointment. I have spent hunderds of dollars at this place and she couldn't take one more minute to had to the 5 she spent with us to look.

I was very disappointed by my recent experience with this establishment. I moved to the area about two years ago and have been with them from the start. The doctor that I see has always been professional and helpful, however the support staff must be drinking different Kool-Aid. Every time I've called or talked to a front desk person they are rude and unfriendly and act as if they couldn't be less interested in helping me. Recently I made an appointment on a Saturday to have staples removed from my dog's leg, when she saw the wound she did not feel they were ready to come out. When I tried to make another appointment they told me I didn't need one to "just stop by" and they will take them out. I have a full time job (as I suspect the support staff have as well) so the only time I can "just stop by is" after work. When I called at 5:20 to see if I could get them removed she said "definitely not tonight" and that was it; so I asked if I could make an appointment, she said "well even if you make an appointment you will still have to wait depending on what's going on." So I responded with well I have to work so if I can get an appointment during the day then I will work my schedule around it, to which she responded "even if you make an appointment you will still have to wait". I explained that I work until 5:00, so 5:30 is the soonest I could get off work, pick up my dog, and get to their location, my only alternative is to make an appointment and work my break schedule around it so I asked "what would you recommend" and this woman acted as if I was the most annoying, irrational, person to have ever asked an absurd question. I worked in customer service for over 15 years so I am very aware of how I speak to people in those positions and the crap they have to deal with, however I was polite and friendly and just trying to find a solution to care for my animal. It was extremely disappointing and frustrating.

Our new puppy was given a very through exam and they spent extra time to answer our questions. Our older dog has allergies and other chronic problems and they were very kind to listen to all of our concerns as well as provide advice on a variety of concerns we had. One of the staff members even offered to stay a few minutes late to accommodate our work schedule to pick up meds. We highly recommend!

Horrible experience. I called at 1pm in the afternoon and they gave me an appointment for 4:30. Knowing my dogs symptoms; vomiting, diarrhea, bloody stool, hadn't eaten in 2 days and lethargic. Since she was responsive and drinking water, I waited till 4:30. When I got to Riverside Animal Hospital within 30 seconds they sent us away, they were open till 6 and refused to do anything. I had a stool sample with me and they wouldn't even test it. They wanted me to take her to an ER and they just sent me out the door on my way, on my own, no recommendation for an ER, nothing. I have to say I will never never never go back there again. I think if you r situation is normal you will get good service. But if they have to go the extra mile as in my situation (I was relying on them to treat my dog) you won't get it if it is close to closing time. A vet that does not do overnight service, really?? In response to the owner comments, your staff did NOT give any ER referrals I had to call another Vet to get local ER referrals.

I still bring my dog here because, I think it’s best to have consistent care providers. With that being said, I am appalled at the lack of regard for clients time. The last three times I’ve called I was placed on long hold times. When it’s time to leave after a service and pay, I always have to wait oddly a long time. I just called and asked for a quote on how much it would cost to have my newly adopted cat shaved, because she has matted hair. I was quoted 300$ because they have to put a cat under to do it usually. The vet at Alpine Vet Clinic quoted me 125$ exact same service! He is a good vet. Used to go to him years ago until I moved. I think Riverside has so many clients that some of the small town charm and service is lacking. I also think they over charge. They have long wait times to get appointments for your animals. I will say they are knowledgeable and I feel comfortable with their competence level with regard to care. That is a bare minimum qualification though.

First off, the staff is very friendly and remember out dog (Hank) every time we come in for a visit! They also gave us a free consultation when we were concerned about Hanks puppy teeth that havent fallen out yet, he is a chihuahua/Weiner dog so teeth problems are common. We started out experiance with this vet office by bringing in our new rescue puppy for a "puppy visit". It was great, the vet came out and did the exam and what not. Everything after that first visit has been very frustrating. We first tried to get Hank neutered, and have two of his puppy teeth pulled ( they are rotting out of his mouth) we were told the price over the phone and had saved up the money for the surgery. When we dropped him off we were then told we should pay extra for the pre surgery blood test. Which we did, it was around $80 extra dollars. Blood test came back with high liver enzymes, to which the vet recommended that we hold off on the surgery and wait a while to do another blood test. The vet did not give us any clues as to why the enzyme levels could be high, or symptoms to watch for, this was also the last time we auctally talked to the vet. Fast forward to the next month, we took him back and did the same blood test, results came back with only one enzyme being out of "acceptable range". Were told to do a more expansive blood test. Once again were not told what could cause this, or what to do to fix it etc. The vet did not even consult with us. So at this point we decided to wait a little longer and then do the next blood test. We were told over the phone the blood test would cost $117 when we brought Hank in we were then told that $117 didnt include the boarding fee and the vet tech fee ( totaled around $140). So we paid the extra fees and left Hank for 2 1/2 hours for the test. Upon picking Hank up we were then told the results had to be sent off and won't be available for two days. Which we were also not told. It would have been nice to know all of this upfront. Not knowing if something is auctally wrong with Hank, and then doing what seems like a pointless blood test rather than just doing the basic pre surgery one like we did then doing the more expansive one after the first results seems to be as waste of our money. And then on top of that not being told what is going on, what the results mean, and what to watch for or do is extremely frustrating. We also havent been able to neuter Hank yet because of all these tests. I reached out and talked to 3 other board certified vets in the valley who all say they should still do the surgery and that all this blood work is un necessary due to him being a puppy and naturally those specific liver enzymes are high while puppies are growing and developing. After we get the test results back, regardless of what they are (not that they would explain it to us it seems like) we will be finding another vet for our dog Hank.

We brought our puppy in a few months ago to be checked out for lethargy and odd behavior. After holding her all day, running several expensive tests and giving us no answers, they told us they hadn't a clue what was wrong with her. They also asked that she be transferred to another animal hospital for an overnight stay which would cost upwards of $1100. When we went to see her, our puppy was perfectly fine, back to normal, and acting fine. They told us she could have a blood clotting disorder and that we needed to pay $600 for a test to prove she wasn't a bleeder. We refused. After paying $800 to Riverside for NOTHING we took our pup to another vet and they ran a similar test to check her blood for around $100. Turns out she's perfectly healthy. Riverside will do anything in their power to up-charge their clients. Seek medical for your animals elsewhere.

Receptionist was incredibly rude to me (and my mom separately) on the phone today, which escalated and they lost my business... which they seem not to care about. In short, the receptionist was rude to my mom, I called and she was also rude to me, she yelled at me, and when I called her out on her behavior and asked to speak to a supervisor, she hung up on me. I drove to complain in person, and the manager had no way to verify what happened. She apologized for "how I feel" instead of the girl's behavior while mostly correcting me for losing my temper. Now, I am reading SEVERAL similar reviews, both on Google and Yelp, about their front desk and how negative the experience can be. It is a shame because I believe their vets are good ones, and I need a good vet. This place doesn't act like they care about the effect mean-spirited employees have on their clients. They also have no system for checking the actions of their employees. Honestly, if I am going to be stressed out, my dog will be too. PASS!

Have misdiagnosed 3/5 of my animals, 1 animal having been misdiagnosed twice by them. Was told by a staff member that I should just put my animal down because they are old and not worth the money. How heartless. I have lost 1 furbaby because of their negligence in "guessing" and almost lost 2 others. The one I lost was put on medication that didnt help and we were told when they gave him a bloodtest that he had pancreatitis. Took him to CRVS and found out he had advanced liver cancer and was now in renal failure due to not being treated correctly. Thankfully 1 of the other 2 is doing fine after them not checking her for years and claiming she was just tiny. Turns out thanks to CRVS that she had thyroid problems and almost died. The other was diagnosed with pancreatitis and when I took him to CRVS they found possible bladder cancer that we now caught early thanks to going somewhere else for a second opinion after my first baby died. We also found out that when Riverside did his catheter to get a urine sample they did it too rough, tore the area where his bladder and urethra connect, and now he's swollen to the point they couldn't get another sample at CRVS. This vet used to be good, I don't know what has happened. I will not be going back and will be taking my furbabies somewhere else.

My pet recently passed away few months ago and they sincerely went above and beyond for me. They even made a personal pendant with my pets name on it. I have never experienced the passionate care they care for animals at any other clinic. I highly recommend and would give them 100+ stars if I could. Both Dr's Menasco and Putnam have treated him and have consistently exceeded my expectations with the care, love and knowledge they provide. Riverside has always treated our pets with fantastic care, but last week when we were away on vacation and our 11 month old springer spaniel became fatally ill they showed up to save the day (and his life). They worked impressively quickly to get him stable, communicated clearly with our sitters as well as taking the time to keep us updated over the phone. The entire team came together to give him the best care possible and they worked seamlessly with the Animal Emergency Clinic to get him through. We are forever grateful for their efforts. Bring my dog Mowgli here and have no complaints with the service I receive when I go. They are very friendly and always make sure to make mowgli feel as comfortable as they can during his check ups. I also got him neutered, microchipped, his flea treatment and pain meds for $300.21 which I was very happy with because I went in expecting to pay more. I hear a lot of complaints about the price and service here but from my experience cannot relate to the complaints and will continue to bring Mowgli here until I experience otherwise.
