Great doctors, reasonable prices, they try and do payment in the rooms which takes away the chaos on a reception room. They were great with my older cat euthanasia and I loved my little pack of her ashes back and all the paw prints and nose prints and we even got a potted flower to remember her by. They are great with my new kittens too! Very professional yet also very personable. I live in Gresham and make the drive for a reason. They are worth it.

Changed us $270 for tests that were unnecessary and scared us by saying it could be cancer (and was highly suggesting it was) when it was ring worm, which our neighbor who works at a pet store said it was, and we verified it at a different vet

The vets at Pioneer seem very caring. Bubby had his teeth cleaned and several removed. They had done blood work the week before to make sure he was healthy for surgery and followed up the next after surgery. He came through just fine and seems to be in full recovery.

I have never written a negative review online as I know how damaging that can be for a business, but I really felt that people should know to use caution when considering this clinic. I took my dog here for a scratch near his eye that wasn't healing. The vet recommended a skin scraping around the eye. I was hesitant to put him through this but they said they could give him something to calm him down and make the procedure less painful. The procedure was quick (less then 10 min) and when they brought my dog back he seemed very agitated but then began to calm down over the next 30 min to a very sedated state- in fact so sedated that he seemed completely unaware of his surroundings for the rest of the evening. I started looking into the drug that was given and found it to be commonly given to horses for pain but doesn't take effect for at least 15 min...so how was that effective for a treatment that took less then 10 min? My dog is of course now super skittish about having anyone get near his eyes (I assume the scraping around his eyes while un-sedated has something to due with this), which makes the at- home treatment of wiping around his eyes with medicine very difficult. I also noticed that the at-home medicine states "if eye contact is made, seek emergency treatment"...what?!?!...how are we supposed to keep it out of his eyes, especially now that he is terrified for anyone to get near them? Furthermore, his eyes are now bothering him more then ever...possibly due to the fact that the vet removed the skin and hair from around his eyes. My dog has been put through torture and is now left with a worsened condition, with no reasonable plan of care. I hope that whoever reads this will be proactive in the health of their pet, ask lots of questions, and do thorough research before entrusting their care to this clinic.

The staff at Pioneer Animal Hospital went above and beyond for our greyhound Quincy on Wednesday night! He is battling bone cancer and they got him in for an emergency appointment (per his oncologist he needed to be seen asap) to have his stomach x-rayed and some blood and fluid tested due the change in his appetite, vomiting, and lethargy to rule out bloat or other serious health issue or cancer spread. They even stayed past closing to review his test results and were so compassionate and made a stressful evening much better. Thank you soo much for the care and follow up you guys gave us, even following up with our oncologist and calling to check on Quincy the next day. We are very grateful for you devotion to our fur-baby!

This vet is the very definition of why people avoid vets. I took my cat in as a new patient with a reoccurring eye issue. I let them know he had a heart issue as well. Pretty run of the mill stuff. But no, the second she gets a chance she just starts repeating about how his heart could kill him at any moment. Over and over! So I stopped her and asked her to deal with the matter at hand. She said that she would give him meds and again quickly moved on to his feline acne

The vet even called us a few days later just to check up on how she was doing. The visit did not feel rushed and the vet and staff were happy to answer all our questions and address concerns. I had to put my 22 year old cat down last Saturday, After receiving a terrible diagnosis myself earlier in the week! I can’t put into words the compassion and loving care both Bandit and I both received at Pioneer from Dr. Conrad. She is an angel of mercy. Very disappointed with recent interactions. Have been going there for at least 15 years.....could not get a call back from the Dr. Called about one of our "old" prts who was I'll again with recurrent cancer. Took over two weeks with no response at all, then never even got to speak to the doctor. Felt we at least deserved a return call.

My father took his dog to the vet at the beginning of January. During that visit, the owner failed to provide a basic exam, and instead, opted to propose further, stressful procedures. (She simply touched the dogs stomach for a matter of seconds). She then decided the dog had a stomach ache. She neglected to check basic vitals such as respiratory and heart rate, the condition of the dogs ears, eyes and nose, as well as lymph nodes. Despite neglecting to provide the basic care that is involved in a standard exam, she still charged the full exam fee. When he contacted this business, their secretary Brittany even stated what an exam is suppose to include (see above). It is now the END of January, and despite multiple attempts to reach the owner of this buisness, she has chosen not to take the time to return the phone call. It seems as though her only interest is to put an animal through more stress than it needs with extra procedures rather than provide a decent exam before hand. For the sake of your animals' well being, choose a veterinarian who actually cares, because that's not what we found at Pioneer Animal Hospital.

We have been long time clients of PAH. Yesterday was one of the toughest days in our families life. We had to lay our 13 year old lab to rest, it was a very hard decision but had ro be made. Dr. Lacy Redmond had done eveeything in her power to help Gus out without draining the our pocketbooks. Dr. Redmond and Sheryl came out to our house so that Gussy come be in the comfort of his own environment and surrounded by everyine he loved. I've been present for too many end of life experiences for beloved pets and it's never easy but my experience here was really great all things considered. My options and costs were well communicated and in a way I was most comfortable receiving them (email) the staff was all kind and professional and I was given options for my presence and input for just about every step of the process. They also had nice larger room in the back that accommodated my wheelchair from multiple spots so I could still say goodbye with both me and my cat in relative comfort and proximity and honestly that meant the world to me. I'll definitely be returning here for my veterinary needs (though hopefully for happier visits).

So far so good! I just want to say we were looking /have been looking for a vet for surgery from my 12-year-old lab, I researched and researched. And to my surprise this place has been wonderful ! It has exceeded our expectations. From the front staff who have taken their time explaining in detail everything to me ,reassuring me etc, to the vet assistant,which was the first person to be able to coerce my dog into having his temperature taken without a problem ,. So amazing. ! Then Dr. Martin who was so warm and actually got down on her knees to have a one-on-one meeting with my dog, letting him lick her face even!, that’s a dog lover. She made me feel comfortable enough to let her do the large tumor surgery and that’s saying a lot. She explained the process and unlike other vets, discouraged having his tie back Trachea surgery done explaining that there is drawbacks ,such as pneumonia ,she said personally she would only do it if was much worse or absolutely necessary. Because of all this, we have chosen Dr. Martin, and her team to perform tumor surgery on our dog Chester next week .we will report back, but so far they have been compassionate ,knowledgeable,and what seems to be reasonably priced.
