I've never had anything but positive experiences at Peninsula Dog & Cat. Dr. DeRemer and his staff are experienced, respectful, and devoted to providing the best care available to their four legged clients. I am so thankful that Dr. DeRemer is very knowledgeable about the health concerns of retired racing greyhounds. I recommend this clinic to everyone I know.

We've been bringing our animals to Penninsula Dog and Cat since we moved into the neighborhood 13 years ago. We wouldn't bring our pets to another vet. The doctors are up front and very informative and the staff is kind and handle our pets with care.

Based on a friends recommendation we've been bringing our cat & dog (both age 10) to this clinic for the last few years. Make sure you know all of your pets vaccination dates and other pertinent pet care info. because the procedural system they use is broken. We were over vaccinated and it seems staff will not admit to a mistake or take ownership of said over vaccination in turn blaming it on the county delays, myself, and the previous veterinarian. One should know their pets vaccines, but a good vet calls before administering. Veterinarian prices/visits are not cheap, so one would expect better service and competent staff in the industry.

I’ve been coming here for years. The vets here care, and it shows. They’re wonderful with my cat and have a gift. I like the new location! Good parking. :)

The staff were friendly and patient. The visit and medication were reasonably priced as well.

Came in for a last minute set of vaccinations to be able to travel internationally. Unfortunately, this isn't a good option if your pet has anxiety. The techs were great, but the vet was impatient, forceful, and cold. I felt shamed because I hadn't budgeted for the several hundred dollars worth of additional (on top of the money I was spending on the visit) vaccines that were recommended before leaving for vacation. Was looking for a neighborhood vet, but unfortunately I'll have to keep looking.

I was glad to have found this place for my late cat after trying out a few places around town. They were very nice and caring, and I never felt like they were trying to sell me extras and the prices were very fair. My cat was the love of my life and when it was time to put him to rest, I felt at least good about having this clinic do it. The doctor who conducted the procedure even cried too. And they sent me a card afterward signed my the whole staff.

I took my cat, Archie, to the Banfield pet hospital 6 times in 2 months because his paws were painfully swollen. At Banfield, I never saw the same vet twice and I had to wait an hour to get into another waiting room, where I waited another 30 minutes to actually see the vet. After $700, 6 misdiagnoses and countless hours spent in their various waiting rooms, Archie could hardly walk and I was desperate to find answers. And then I found Dr. DeRemer's Peninsula Dog and Cat Clinic. After the first visit, he correctly diagnosed and treated my kitten's autoimmune disease. My kitten has to be treated with steroids to boost his immune system (which normally come in shots that have to be administered by the vet him/her self) every 1-2 months. But Dr. DeRemer had a pharmacy put together a liquid compound formula so I can treat my cat at home. Not only did he save my cat, but he also saved me a ton of money with the formula because I don't have to pay to see a vet every time my cat needs another treatment. Although not every disease can be treated in this fashion, I can guarantee that you will be treated fairly and your pet will be treated with the highest quality of care at the Peninsula Dog and Cat Clinic. I'll never go to another veterinarian, and neither should you.

I switched to Peninsula after having increasingly worst (and more expensive) experiences at North Portland Vet when they were bought out by VCA. I LOVE Dr. DeRemer and the entire crew. Shortly after switching I found out most of my friends had been going here for years and they LOVE it here as well! I love that it's an old Portland business with all the charm of a small business. The staff is so nice, so helpful, and so caring for your pets. Highly recommended.

We have been taking our 11-year-old dog Henri to Peninsula Dog & Cat for 7 years since we adopted him. They have helped treat his ongoing allergies, a bowel obstruction and tumor removal from his leg. Not only have they shown great professionalism and care, but they give him lots of love and compassion. Whenever we are going to the vet, Henri gets really excited because he knows he's going to see all his friends there. I can't thank the wonderful staff enough for everything they have done for us.

Peninsula Dog and Cat- absolutely in love with this clinic and the entire vet team! My husband and I brought our first dog here 8 years ago. They were wonderful then and now with our new dog, Hattie, they have been extremely helpful and supportive. Hattie was a street dog in Mexico and one of the veterinarians had worked with dogs from that area before and was super knowledgeable about common health problems that might manifest that are not found in the PNW (such as, valley fever). The staff are caring and unique, which makes it easy to trust them with Hattie and allow me the opportunity to ask questions freely without judgment about my ability as dog parent. This clinic helped us through hard times with our first dog and when they learned of her passing they were empathetic. They really love and care for animals. They are all very nice people who are eager to help you be the best pet owner you can be. They help you stay positive when you're dogs health isn't great and they are extremely knowledgeable.

Michael Robinson

Great doctors and staff! My cats love the staff.

Rocky Hall

Very very rude technician named Alan is very much a Snide Individual very unwilling to answer simple questions and willingness to explain Questions about Billing Was giving an estimate over the phone when I got me in the estimate changed Dramatically

Judy Anderson

I love Peninsula Dog and Cat staff and veterinarians since they are warm and caring people and take great care of my cats. Most important of all, the vets are good diagnosticians and I appreciate that they are willing to consult with outside experts to try to find the right treatment for my animals. I had an old cat that was always vocal and could be difficult but the staff at Peninsula would always say with a smile---"She's got cattitude!" These folks genuinely like cats and it shows in their kind treatment. Peninsula Cat and Dog Clinic is simply the best and it would be hard to find better care for your pet.

Aaron Fabbri

Great team helped us through simple ingrown claws as well as heartbreaking end of life decisions. Appreciate these folks.

I really want to like this vet as they are 5 minutes from my house. First, the receptionist, borderline rude. Everytime. In person, and on the phone. I know it's procedure but they have to do an exam Everytime. Even if it's been within a month. And it's at least $50. I've spent over $150 in 3 months just on exams. Just to get her shots. And just when I thought I was through all her vaccines... Let's schedule you in 2 weeks to start another round of God knows what. They like to send you home with things you didn't ask for. I feel pressured to buy everything. The most unpleasant experience. Only one vet teck out of the whole staff seemed like he genuinely cared about animals. I wish I could remember his name. He was bigger guy with a long beard. The rest just felt they were trying to get through a sale. I'd hate to bring Saorsie back there. Gonna try to go back to Vista pet hospital on cannon Rd.

Mag Force

Have nothing but great things to say. You can see they all love the animals they care for.

Rob Cohn

took dog in to have her speyed. they called to say post op her eye was bothering her due to old scratch on cornea..a false claim since her eyes never bothered her prior to this procedure. when i got her back her cornea had obviously been scraped during her stay there. very discouraging experience.

Ann-Louise March

Doctor was exceptionally informative and a productive problem solver. I really like them here.

MR SMITHERS

I came in with genuine concern for my cat and the receptionist talked to me like I was stupid. Don't go unless you must.
