Beware. The owner of this clinic, Chris Mcilmoil is going to find any way he can to weedle more money out of clients. I took my dog in for an ear infection and he tried to sell me unnecessary monthly allergy treatments. Annoying as that is, he also LIED to me about the results of a fine needle aspirate on a lump on her foot. He told me it looked like a mast cell tumor (it doesn't). I explained to him it was from a previous injury. He ignored me. I suspected he was going to tell me that it was a mast cell tumor whether it was or not and sure enough, he came back telling me there were "a few" mast cells. He also provided a quote for a surgery. Highly suspicious of this diagnosis, I took her a week later to our regular vet (whom we were unable to get in to see for the ear infection because it was the Saturday before Christmas and they were booked full). He did a fine needle aspirate and confirmed it was a simple granuloma and no need to remove it unless it was bothering her. No mast cells. Unbelieving that a veterinarian would simply lie to me and put a dog through an unnecessary surgery to make money, I took her to yet another clinic she had never been to, where two separate vets looked at the growth, including performing another fine needle aspirate and confirmed McIlmoil had lied - no mast cells and no need for surgery. If you have always seen this vet and think he is looking out for the best interest of your animals, now is the time for doubt and second guesses because he WILL lie to get more money out of you, up to and including unnecessary surgeries on your animals. And I suspect he will come along and comment that this was a misunderstanding or difference of professional opinion of some sort. It wasn't. Mast cells are very easily identified in house by any vet with even minimal experience. There was no mistake made here. He just lied.

I participated in the voucher program to have my dog fixed. We got there early before 8am. Upon arrival I gave my copy of 2 papers and the voucher along with the license tags that were stapled together. When I went to pick up my dog they did not have the license tag and my copy of the paperwork. When I asked for my copy of the reciept from animal control paper they didn't have it. But somehow hey lost my tag and the top copy of the paper that animal control gave me with my tag info on it. So now I have to get either a duplicate tag or a brand new tag. I also didn't get a rabbies tag. Unless they don't do that anymore. Although every dog I've owned I received a rabies tag. Anyways I am very thankful for this program. I recommend if you qualify. Thanks for helping. Ps. My regular vet ask me to get xrays at this clinic. So I made an inquiry to have xrays taken of my dogs jaw. I was quoted for the first view of $280, and $150 for each one after. This is way out of line. So I didn't get it done.

They don't take appointments so there is often a wait The waiting room has a very strong candle chemical smell that probably causes cats and dogs to be agitated since it's much stronger to those poor little guys. The female doctor I saw didn't have great bedside manner. They close at NOON on Saturday which is...welll....why?

Could not ask for a better vet. Initially I was apprehensive because I had been going to this clinic for over 20 years and my original vet left with no notification. So when I came in I had the shock of him not being there and this 'new guy'...Dr. Chris. I don't do change very well... but Dr. Chris won me and my dogs over in spades! I love how before an exam he talks TO my dogs... as if they were his own. When he talks to me...his communication skills are excellent. I never leave confused and wondering. And he doesn't just go for your wallet. His first concern is the animals. I swear he has the soul of an small country vet that if he could, he'd accept eggs, fresh butter, or a chicken as payment. He recently came to my home and helped me with the very difficult decision to put one of my dogs down. I am grateful that he offers at home services. He was very professional and extremely compassionate. I am thankful for the change in veterinarians. If he is ever to relocate, I will drive my dogs to where ever he is. Couldn't ask for a better vet or a better person to care for my dogs.

Oregon City Vets never called with test results and when I called said they would have someone call and tell me but no one called.. They're just not as personal as my old Vet.

I went here on a spay voucher from the county. My puppy is 6 months old. She has been to her regular vet several times and had no concerns. When we were called into the exam room my puppy was trembling terrably. The person who took her to the back acted like she was scared of her. I picked her up around 4 pm that day and she was still under sedation and was not very coherant until around 1 the following afternoon. There is a large lump in her stomach and I've had to take her to my vet for care since her surgery. They sent her out with no cone. I have no verification of rabies vaccination and I received no paperwork that even said what was dine. They never even did a follow up to check on her. Her regular vet always calls the next day. It's been 10 days now, I have another appointment with my vet for her tomorrow and she still has a huge lump in her stomach. So I would not, not recommend them I'm just saying pay attention to your pets behavior. My dog was terrified and I should have paid attention to that.

I'm so glad to have found this vet! Everyone working there - from the front desk staff to the veterinarian who examined my dog - was friendly and obviously loved animals. We were in and out in about an hour, and that included a full exam and vaccinations. I really appreciate the clinic's low fees - my previous vet was so expensive! At the OC vet clinic, my dog received several vaccinations (including rabies), a microchip (and online registration for the chip), a full examination, and was registered with Clackamas County... the entire bill was under $150. They were also very willing to explain the different vaccination options and what they thought were necessary to have in our region, didn't push me to get more. Be aware that this is a walk-in clinic, so your wait will depend on how many people are ahead of you. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and the wait was very short, but I imagine the weekends would be longer. A note about the one star review: You *have* to register your dogs in Clacakamas county - it's the law. If the county receives a rabies vacation notice from the vet and you haven't registered, they will fine you. This is not the fault of the vet! Just pay the $19 and save yourself the trouble.

My sister & I have been taking our cats to this clinic for a couple of years & have received excellent vet care. When we took an abandoned cat to the clinic for care, Dr. Chris McIlmoil made a very generous donation of vet care for the kitty that included a dental cleaning. His generosity made a big difference in helping to find the cat a forever home. We are very impressed with this clinic. Dr. Chris and his great team care about animals!

Amazing people they where so nice , but we told them we couldn’t afford to pay a $400 bill so the they tested for a million different things and did all this stuff w/o going over prices w us and racked up out bill to $700 for some “testing” and IV Fluid... and then didn’t offer care credit so we payed it and there went our bills down the drain for what I would have paid $100 for at south clackamas vet in molalla .., got them to reverse the charges so we could use care credit then it took a week or two to get the money back and then care credit screwed me over and took 2 payments of the bill then they took 2 weeks to mail me a check then I had all these over draft charges to my account to say the least it was a crazy mess and I’m never going again nor would I ever recommend this place to anyone unless you enjoy over paying for the same service you would get somewhere else if not better somewhere else .

This is by far the best vet around. The staff is courteous, the prices are very reasonable and they really take pride in helping your furry ones. I took my 13 week old puppy here when he was super sick and they treated him in the clinic for 3 days and the cost was a fraction of what I would have spent for one day at the vet hospital and my puppy LOVES all of the staff there. I would recommend them to anyone for their veteranaian needs.

Dr. Chris has been our vet for 8 years. He is passionate, caring, and wants what is best for your fur baby. He also is respectful towards your wishes. One of the big reasons why we love him so much is because he likes to use naturopathic medicine first before using other resources. Sure, the wait can be a little exhausting because it is a walk-in clinic. However, you leave feeling satisfied knowing your baby received great treatment.

My pups have been going to Oregon City Veterinary Clinic for around eleven years. This clinic is a pet's version of an old-time 'family doctor' whose main focus is always the patient. When Danny was diagnosed with canine lymphoma a couple of years ago the DVM was so helpful with keeping Danny comfortable those last weeks of his life. His carefully measured advice to my wife and I was right on and very much appreciated by us. Lucy has been going to Oregon City Veterinary Clinic since she was seven weeks old. She's a timid girl, but she actually gets excited when I take her in for a check-up and whatever vaccinations are due. Today she saw Ms. Taylor, DMV for her booster shot and a biopsy of what we hope is just a benign growth on her bottom. For an unknown reason Lucy had a negative reaction to her booster shot, so she got to see the doctor twice. She got a Benadryl and steroid injection. The doctor did not charge for the second visit. We're home now and Lucy is already feeling better. She scarfed her dinner. Oregon City Veterinary Clinic was recommended to me and now I am recommending them to anyone who's looking for a excellent vet to take care of their precious pet's medical needs.

I have been taking my fur babies to Oregon City Veterinary Clinic for 26 years. Yes, there can be wait when the lobby is full but knowing that all their attention is focused on you and your pets when you are in the exam room makes the wait worth it. All of the doctors and support staff are kind and gentle. Out of curiosity I called a vet clinic closer to my home to see what it would cost to spay and neuter the kittens I recently adopted from rescue. I was shocked at the amount, over $250 per kitten! Not only do you receive compassionate care at OCVC, it's done at an affordable price.

Both of my dogs have had dentals here in the past year. The staff is kind and they have a lot of information about rabies in the area and canine flu. One of my dogs had 26 teeth pulled and the office comped almost 1100 dollars to make the price more affordable. It may not loom like the nicest building bit the care is exceptional.
