Dr. Tripp understands the different ages and phases of a dogs life, she understands and takes to heart my concerns for my old dog and is cautious (running blood work first to be sure he could handle the medication she wanted to prescribe), and understanding of the pain and dementia my dog is in. Got a puppy from out of state and brought it to Dr. Aschim for an second puppy evaluation. Dr. Aschim said that the puppy had a heart murmur that was very serious and we should return the puppy or have the breeder pay for a heart diagnosis. We returned the puppy that we loved. After we got back from the airport we got the paperwork from the exam. It was listed as a grade 1 heart murmur. A quick Google Search and past experience with another puppy told me that a grade 1 heart murmur could go away. Contacted Dr. Aschim and she said "sorry I should have told you it could possibly go away". Are you kidding me, SORRY? Returned a beautiful puppy with $1000 worth of airfare costs. A grade 1 heart murmur usually goes away. Google it and see for yourself. I wouldn't trust these people to feed my cat over the weekend, let alone do vet work, don't believe the positive reviews.

We've been coming here for about a year now after a bad experience with a previous veterinarian. Newberg Veterinary Hospital is fantastic. The staff is great, and the rooms are clean and well maintained. The veterinarians on staff take their time with our older dog, who is nervous around strangers (especially the weird ones that want to poke and prod him!). For the last year we've enjoyed better care at half the cost of our previous vet, and we don't dread trips to the vet anymore! Thank you Newberg Veterinary Hospital team, you're a job well done!

This veterinary hospital is always at the ready to care for and treat injured and sick furbabies. They are kind, gentle and loving, treating each and every one, as if they were their own beloved furchild . As a rescue, I have encountered many vets who treat rescue dogs as "less than" deserving of their attention but the Drs at this hospital treat them all the same. I LOVE THEM AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE!

They really need to rename their urgent care as "convenience care." They failed to address our dog's chronic vomiting upon our scheduled visit and treated us as second or third class when we tried to bring him in as a follow up during "urgent care." Our dog has since passed, and maybe we could have prolonged his life, maybe not, but we never had the opportunity. Realistically, they need to stop accepting new patients if they're that busy. It's absurd the lack of attention they gave our dog. I understand the need to honor appointments, but a sick dog vs a dog in for a physical is a no brainer.

Marvin the plott hound had been throwing up for two days, when we went in to see Dr. Webber. He saw us right away. Dr. Webber and his team tried 24 hours of IV fluids, watching and waiting, and xrays before going in and removing two walnut-sized pieces of rubber from Marv's small intestine. Marv is recovering well. He's four days post surgery, and is acting like his usual cheery self! I feel like he got the very best care that he could have received, and not only that, I feel like I, as his worried owner, got great care too. They answered all of my questions, were clear and concise, and called with updates. And even though Marvin needed major surgery and it was touch and go there for a while, they were positive and didn't worry me. They seemed to take the brunt of the worry. It's not like they were overly positive, just clear, informative and caring. We received clear instructions for his aftercare and they called us to check up on him. It was the very best.

Granted this is an experience from 2009, but when I brought my puppy in for vomiting they took an x-ray. They said he had a birth defect and had to reconstruct his intestines. It was going to cost about $1,600. They started the surgery and found he had swallowed a shoe sole. So these crooked people charged me $2,500 to remove the shoe sole. Funny how removing a shoe sole is an extra $1000. Go anywhere else, these people are not honest.

I just wanted to take the time to thank the Newberg Vet Hospital. My German Shepherd is only two and she has had so many issues and last night I hit my breaking point. The staff is always nice but, Ashley is especially wonderful and warm. I called last night at 6pm because my dog was peeing blood again, as soon as Ashley knew it was me she asked how Tyga was. I told her what was going on and she asked me to come right over. I got there, Ashley welcomed me and had Tyga all checked in...my dog was crying and howling in pain in the lobby, the staff remained calm which was nice because I was worried about keeping her quiet. She was looked at right away and I just lost it. Again, my dog is only two and I'm on a first name basis with three of the vets and several of the receptionists. A LOT has happened to this dog in such a short time, she has the worst luck with getting sick, all her allergies, her anal gland issues, skin issues, etc. The staff at Newberg vet always welcome me, always answer my questions, always help me out, and always take great care of my dog. We were referred to this clinic by Ms Raymond and we're very grateful we listened to her. My partner and I were very nervous, as I'm sure many people are when taking their animal to a new vet especially during a stressful/sad etc.. time. We brought our Wolf Sable female Pomeranian named Donatella in for her abdominal X-Ray, to ensure we knew the amount of puppies to expect when whelping. The x-ray showed four puppies and Dr Johnson told us she was very confident Donatella could whelp them with no issue. What a relief that was to hear, AND she did just that, she Free-Whelped four beautiful Pomeranian with ease!. When we walked into this beautiful clinic we were greeted by four very professional gals at the front desk, they were very informative and courteous to our needs. we were very satisfied with our visit and have an unconditional amount of respect for Dr Tina Johnson! She was the best vet anyone could ask for, especially with the amount of experience she has with the Pomeranian breed. We will definitely be bringing back all of our Pomeranian's back for ALL of their vet needs and we'll definitely recommend this clinic to all my friends! Do not go to them. I had an appointment to get one of my animals spayed and took her in, I later get a call back saying she “passed away” I had another instance where my cat went in for surgery and they called back saying she didn’t make it again. I will be not going back to this place.

This Hospital is Top of the line. I am an Animal tech, at least that is what I use to be for over 10 years, I have worked with two different vets in the past but none compare to Dr. Tina Johnson, she saved my best friends life. I have had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Johnson several times now with two different cats and I feel she offers a level of care you won't find in many places and the staff here is just incredible. The techs are knowledgeable and kind and the receptionists are friendly and get you seen quickly plus they are always so willing to answer questions over the phone and have no problem getting you through to a Vet if you need to speak with one. And the cost is more than reasonable. Finding a good Veterinarian these days is tough stuff, the good ones are few and far between Dr. Johnson is the real deal. Dr. Tripp is also very kind, she was the one I spoke with before the place was even open one morning when my Mikey couldn't breathe. She instructed me to take him right over there that she would have a tech let me in and that she herself was on her way. I haven't met Dr. Weber but I hear he is great too and he is my neighbor so I may meet him soon. (I just moved here from California a few months ago) How do you thank people that go above and beyond to save one of the most important things in your life? All I can do is spread the word and so here I am. If you are looking for a place that will care for your friends to the best of their ability and do it like they mean it, then you have found that place.

It was supposed to be a drop off and pick up later situation because I had to be somewhere that day but when I arrived, Dr. Aschim graciously saw him immediately so that he wouldn't have the stress of being there all day. This veterinary hospital has my heart. They've been with us through 2 of our sweet dogs that had terminal illnesses. It was a heartbreaking process. I couldn't bring myself to go get our pups paw print for a month after she passed. I was crying hysterically but the front desk girl was sweet as can be and the waiting clients were sympathetic. I called MANY times, I e-mailed, I stopped in, I spoke with the front desk and somebody always gets back to me or takes my call immediately. I've been coming to Newberg Vet Hospital since I got my Apple Bunny nearly 8 years ago. They are amazing, efficient, kind and treat your pets like the family members they are. I recently had a pet emergency and I called and was told to come in the next day and they would have an urgent care appt slot for me. I had to bring my dog in yesterday to this hospital because I couldn't get into our regular vet for a few days and my poor dog needed to be seen as soon as possible. I have nothing but great things to say about this facility. I couldn't get a appt, but they told me I could come in and wait and when they had a free minute my dog could be seen. We waited about an hr, but the staff was awesome at communicating and I believe the tech that worked with my dog name was Ashley and she was awesome. Really great about explaining to me what was going on with Marley and the veterinarian that came in was also amazing. I didn't catch his whole name but I believe his name was Tyler. Everybody at the office was amazing. The receptionist were on top of everything and I saw one of those girls helping an elder lady with her dog, and even took that dog out to the car for her.

I will not take another pet to Newberg Vet. I was loyal to them for years, but they are overbooked, spend minimal time in the exam room with pets, are very inaccessible for owners to ask questions, and no longer seem to care about the well being of pets. I had an issue just over a month ago that resulted in me having to take my dog else-wear because Newberg would not LISTEN. My suspicions were correct, the cancer had metastasized to his spleen and we had to put him down that afternoon. If Newberg vet would have listened to me, done an actual exam, or even read his chart notes, my dog wouldn't have suffered an additional three days. I reached out to them to discuss this issue two weeks ago, sent a follow up a week ago, and cannot get them to respond to my email.

Drove the extra few miles from Beaverton to take my dog here. He had been sneezing and had an ear infection. They saw him on a Saturday so I didn’t have to miss work. We left with 3 medications, an ear cleaning & visit fee for around $160. All of the staff was attentive and kind from the initial phonecall to the visit with the vet, Jackie. My little dog is due for a rabies shot, but rather than giving him everything all at once it was recommended to wait until he was feeling better. I appreciated that level of care and not going after every dollar. I will absolutely be taking Arrow back here. His infections cleared up within a week, he’s back to the happy guy I know and love which tells me he was accurately diagnosed and treated. Thank you Newberg Vet Hospital!

After our dog's eye condition went downhill quickly, we contacted Newberg Vet Hospital for a second opinion. Caitlin was incredibly helpful and comforting on the phone and immediately put us at ease. They allowed us to walk in first thing in the morning and examined our puppy fully. Dr. Aschim was very professional and thorough, and our pup's condition has already improved a bit within hours. We will definitely stick with these guys!

This facility is terrible. I wouldn't even give them the credit of being an animal hospital, because I do not believe that they care about your pet. The time on hold, the waiting room process, and the fact that the vets seem disinterested during exams should have been enough of a warning. I was concerned about my dog, so I had them do an exam while he was being boarded. They said he was "fine" despite my persistent concerns about his change in appetite and drinking habits. He passed away two weeks after the exam. I called the emergency line. Never received a call back. This place is terrible and should not be trusted with the care of any animal. I regret ever setting foot in the building.

Absolutely the best! I've been here several times and they've always provided excellent care for a great price. No upselling, no scams, and always lots of attention to your pet. They genuinely care. On my last visit, I couldn't make an appointment, so had to do a walk-in on a Saturday. I waited less than 40 minutes, and they gave their full attention, a consultation, nail trimming, and two prescriptions for $109. I live on the other side of town and drive 45 minutes to come here, and I'm always glad I did!

Our Newberg vet experience was amazing! You never want to have to take your pet in to the vet because that implies that they are not as healthy as you would like them to be. We had an urgent issue with one of our dogs and I was able to do a "walk in" visit on a Saturday and then another (unplanned) urgent visit on Monday. They were professional, accessible, pleasant and genuinely caring regarding the health of our dog. We cannot thank the folks at Newberg Vet enough! They are amazing!!!!!

My kitty broke his leg on a Sunday night. I took him to a vet in the morning and they called me after xrays saying that his leg would probabaly have to be amputated because of the severity of the break. They referred me to a specialty vet hospital close by. I took my cat in to get a consultation from the orthopedic surgeon there. They called me awhile later and told me that the surgeon could repair his leg but it would be around $3k-$4k surgery. I started crying because I didn’t have that type of money to pay for the surgery. I then asked about the cost of amputation. The guy was very short with me and told me “he didn’t have the estimate on top of his mind” and would call me back with it. He called back and said it would be just a little more inexpensive, no numbers or estimates and then talked to me about how to pay for it. I said it was a big decision to make and asked when he needed an answer by. He said within the hour. Luckily my mom called and I filled her in. She referred me to Dr. Mark Webber at Newberg Vet. She said he was the only vet she trusted. I called Newberg Vet and explained the situation. They said to bring the cat right over. No more than a 5 minute wait once I checked in. Dr. Webber came in right away and picked my kitty up, asked some questions which I answered and I explained everything that had transpired that day. He said since the speciality vet hospital didn’t send the X-rays over yet, he wanted to take an X-ray himself at no cost to me to evaluate my kitties condition- that he just wanted to find out what’s going on and his xrays were better. He sat down with me in person after and explained the reasons why Jakku’s break in his leg was so hard to repair. His leg was broken right above the ankle, so it only have maybe 1/8 inch of bone to try to pin and attach to the other bones. He said he could go in to repair the leg and if Jakku didn’t have enough healthy bone to reattach, he would amputate at no more than $1500. I said okay and told me he would reset the bones and splint tonight to make kitty more comfortable in the meantime. He called me an hour later and said he reset his bones and splint it and did xrays and said he thought a cast would suffice. Jakku came home Friday evening with a cast and is starting his home recovery. This vet truly cares about the animals he sees and wants to heal them. Thank you Dr. Mark! You have a lifetime customer even if it means a 40min-1 hour drive from my home!

I took my dogs here because my mother in law takes her dog here. Mom was right! They're fantastic! My poodles love it here. The vets are great & the techs are wonderful. My girls are never afraid to come in the door. That's always a good sign! My standard poodle recently had surgery on her leg to fix a problem from a previous surgery & they did a fantastic job. She's no longer having the pain she was having & is getting around better than she has in years. I highly recommend these vets!

Unfortunately my experience was not good here. They list that they are a 24 hr on-call clinic. My dog was hit by a car at approx. 7am, we called them immediately as she was badly hurt and suffering. We followed the prompt confirming it was an emergency and sent the page. We sat around panicking and waiting for someone to call us back. No one did. We finally took my dog to the emergency clinic in Tualatin (next closest) and we had to put her down. She suffered longer than she needed to while we were waiting for a call back. I called the office to make them aware of what happened in case there was an issue with their "emergency on-call" system. I didn't want this to happen to someone else. They were extremely nice, apologized profusely, etc. She did call me back to advise she reached the doctor on call, apparently he was ill and assumed we would just wait until they opened at 8:00 and call back. If I could have waited until 8:00, it probably wouldn't have been an EMERGENCY. It sounds to me like they should have a protocol for that type of situation, if the on-call Dr gets sick during the night, maybe there should be another back up Dr they are able to pass the rest of their on-call shift to perhaps? They were very nice apologizing about the situation but it doesn't take away the awful experience watching our dog suffer when we could have already been in Tualatin if we had known no one intended on calling back.

In late 2018, we transferred the care of our 16 year old mini dachshund to Newberg Veterinary Hospital and wondered why we waited so long to seek them out (for the last 9 -1/2 years). The doctors and the staff are so caring and professional with our baby. Our baby has had a full dental cleaning with anesthesia which included one extraction (we had been reluctant to have her put under anesthesia, however, she did just fine). She is a happy, healthy, bouncing 9 lb. girl, and we thank Newberg Veterinary Hospital for helping us keep her that way. With an aging pup, we are comforted to know that we can reach a veterinarian any time; day or night! Thank you again for the superb care you provide to our sweet baby.

Dr. Fischer is awesome he listened to me and was able to explain throughly what the diagnoses was as well as explain clearly what home care my dog needed. Love that I wasn't pressured to do any additional services (like get shots up to date or teeth cleaned) the Docs main focus was to get my dog healthy. June of 2010 Banfield abused my cat and agitated a benign tumor in her backside. I then took my little girl to dove Lewis where a vet looked at her for less than 5 minutes and charged me 89 dollars. Then I heard about Newberg Vet Hospital where I then took her and found out she had a tumor in her backside. They gave me a month I would not have had otherwise. Now I drive from over 40 miles away for my cats. Soon im moving but ill still make the trip. Worth every penny you spend and they don't give up on your loved ones. I also want to add that they do not price gouge like some places. I've been to other vets and hands down these people are thee best.
