I brought a Feral Cat that had been living on my property in. What was a seemingly minor injury turned into putting her down. They took the time to explain the injury, the depth of it, and why doing this was the "best" option.(somedays there are no best options) The vet and staff were very compassionate. Although I miss my Snuggles the feral cat dearly, the staff was kind and professional.

Horrible service. Lady on phone was rude, unhelpful, and condensing. *sigh* Yet another veterinary practice that doesn't care about animals.

Liz Fero

I have been here twice. Once three years ago when my pugs eye proptosis and last night when the same eye socket became severely swollen and painful. I had a vet appt the next morning, ten hours away but did not want my pug to get worse when she needed antibiotics and was in pain. The staff at the 24 hour emergency was friendly and helpful. The doctor was great, caring and straight to the point with a great plan of care that I agreed with. After we got home, she got a dose of abx and pain medicine. We both were able to sleep well.

Hardest part of loving my pets, is having to say goodbye. We took our Star for final moments to the Emergency Vet Clinic in Tualatin. It was 6am and the staff was so caring and considerate it made her final breathing easier. We were treated with compassion through the entire visit. RIP my beloved Aussie girl.

John Warzynski

Excellent service and polite staff We had a short wait while a mother dog struggled giving birth Our cat was seen in good fashion and we were kept informed about all procedures beforehand by the kind veterinarian, this was at 130 a.m. , we were very grateful for the attention given our cat.

Jon Shervey

Incredibly caring staff from front office to vet techs to vets. Pricing for imaging, appointments, and meds were equal to or less our vet and our last two vets in the Milwaukie-to-OC area. Communication was always what was promised, and communication with our vet occurred thoroughly before/during/after care without prompting. Vet tech and vet spent time with us making sure our questions were answered and prices for range of care were transparent. Most importantly, they clearly care about their patients! We’ll drive our pets here first every time.

After a couple of frustrating visits with our primary vet, we brought our rottie in last night when her symptoms were getting worse. After a short time, we were dealt devastating news. The staff was beyond compassionate, kind and patient with us while we pondered our decision and allowed us as much time as we needed with our Magpie during and after her final moments. We appreciate your kindness and support ♥️

Don’t go here. Waited 2 hours to speak to ‘vet’. ‘Vet’ met with me for 15 seconds....said needed to knock out dog and do exploratory surgery...I said I’d wait to speak with my normal clinic vet....she said 85 dollars please for that 15 seconds.

By the time you get seen, it will be the worst customer service experience you will have had for an animal care situation. I took my bunny here after calling to make sure that a vet was working who could see bunnies. After driving over there, the front desk technician told me that because I didn't talk to HER, I probably couldn't be seen as bunnies can't be seen by all vets. After waiting for her to confirm there was in fact a vet who could see a bunny, the tech was very demanding about me accepting that she hadn't been rude and I felt forced to stay here for care due to lack of options. Not a good personality for owners who are in distress. The vet was FANTASTIC after waiting almost 2 hours to be seen. (In my time waiting in the lobby, one couple left angry with their dog for not being seen, another owner became increasing angry and verbally aggressive after 45 minutes of being told multiple times they would be helped "in a minute", only one animal left in that time from owners picking them up from treatment, and an emergency cat, rescued from a house fire, showed up getting rushed to the back for CPR.) All in all, call before showing up, expect a long wait regardless (unless for true emergencies), and bad front desk customer service. Then actually decent vet care. I would never go here except for an EXTREME emergency. To the owners of this establishment: fire the front desk staff that are needlessly rude to clients.

Great doctors, very knowledgeable and nice. It's awesome they're open late. Even though they're a ER for pets, their prices for regular testing is overpriced. We got a quote from another location for easily half the price for the same tests. It's a good spot for a last resort. When we decided to go to another place, they made a big deal about it and the younger receptionist was SUPER rude about it and seemed surprised we didn't get treatment for her there. We asked them to send our tests and documents to another vet and she was very rude about it. We paid for those tests and had every right to shop around. The doctors did their best to keep prices down and helped us on a few things regarding the testing. I'm sad it ended on such a bad note because of the receptionist. This is a great place to go, but shop around if you have the time to make a proper decision.

Marc Sweet

Very positive interaction during a stressful situation. Everyone I encountered was professional and effective. I will easily return for petcare if need be, this location a priority.

I have nothing but good things to say about the two doctors I dealt with, Dr. Reza and Dr. Andy. Dr. Reza did the intake and told me exactly what they were going to do. I was sent to the clinic by my regular vet because she thought my cat may have swallowed something that may have been lacerating his intestine and her clinic was not equipped to handle it. This was on a late Friday afternoon. I understand this is an emergency clinic. I don't know if it was because my cat was not visibly injured or they were understaffed, but I waited 45 minutes to be seen. Dr Reza was gentle in his exam, took notes regarding the medications I brought from home and assured me the staff knew how to administer inhaled medications for my asthmatic cat. He also told me about what time in the morning Boots would be re-examined and what to expect should the x-rays not reveal anything. He also told me I could call for updates at any time, but they would call early the next morning. I waited until 8:30 the next day and called, leaving a message to be called back since the doctor on call was with a patient. An hour later, Dr. Andy called and explained that the x-ray did not show a foreign object in the intestines, but did show something suspicious, so they did an ultrasound, as my vet had mentioned as a possibility. Unfortunately for Boots, a large, inoperable mass was found. Dr. Andy explained possibilities as far as bringing Boots home for a few days, but we could not bear to watch him continue to barely eat, knowing the pain was most likely increasing, so we elected euthanasia that day. I was very impressed that they provided a room with a comfortable couch and brought Boots to us wrapped in a blanket. We got to spend as much time as we wanted and gave him a lot of his favorite treat. Dr. Andy was kind and gentle to both Boots, while administering the drugs after a full explanation of what he was doing, and kind to us before, during and after the procedure. He also showed us to an exit door so that we did not have to go back through the lobby. Like others, I have to complain about the high prices. I do understand it is an emergency only facility. I felt like it was understaffed and that charging $10 for one pill that I can buy for pennies was a bit excessive, not to mention the cost of the blood work and the basic visit fee. They did provide an estimate prior to keeping him overnight, and told me the cost for an ultrasound and the possible cost of surgery. I know emergency rooms at hospitals are out to lunch on fees, but urgent care clinics are generally within reason. I wish emergency vets could lower their fees to match urgent care, not emergency room, levels. That said, I would highly recommend EVCOT if you have an emergency for your pet and it must be taken care of immediately. Just make sure you have lots of money or room left on your credit card!

Id give them 100 stars if I could. I had to rush my dog to them , on recommendation from regular vet. Glad I did, Dr Williams was above and beyond what I ever expected. From the get go, she understood Brady was a family member and I wanted the best for him. She explained what I could do, and what to expect. She made him comfortable in his last hrs, so I could spend 1 more day with him. And Im grateful I was referred to such a great place. Thank you for such loving care showed to my sweet little boy.

Amy McCaffrey

We took our cat in at 2 a.m. with what turned out to be a blocked urinary tract. Everyone there both on the night shift and in the morning when I picked them up were very nice and very professional. Went there once before with a cat and received the same quality care. I hope I don't have to go back but I definitely would again.

Mike Bolle

Good people! Doing great work :-)

My macaw had a bloody eye with a broken blood vessel and he is in perfect health now after a visit here!! Thank you.

Thank you Emergency Vet Clinic of Tualatin!! About a month ago, our vet prescribed Cyclosporine for our 20 lb dog. She had an adverse reaction to it and started panting, pacing, was really anxious, and was trying to vomit. I called and they gave me the best and FREE advice any vet has given us......take her for a slow walk and if that doesn't help and she is still acting strange in a couple hours, bring her in. Well, it worked! The woman that answered the phone, I cannot thank you enough! I called the next day to find out who it was but the woman that answered said it could've been a couple people, so at any rate, I just want to thank you and the rest of the team there. We have been there a couple times with our dog and have always appreciated the staff, but this advice saved us another vet visit, which was really appreciated as we are going through a specialist and have incurred a bunch of debt trying to get her better. She is doing better now and we will recommend you to all our friends and family. Thank you!!!

Nicole Jackson

I was so impressed by the staff at this office. Our dog had a grass seed stuck in her tonsil which was causing horrible side effects including; retching, repeated vomiting, crying, manic behavior, and the desire to put everything in sight - into her mouth in an attempt (I'm assuming) to clear the irritant. The veterinarian worked quickly to ease her discomfort, and put her under general anesthesia to remove the irritant. While she was under, they took the liberty to give her a nail trim, and didn't even charge us! Overall, the visit was quick, and our pup was back to her old self the next day. The cost was very modest compared to other ER Vet offices we've had to visit. The *only* suggestion I would make, is that someone should go over a cost analysis with the patient's caregiver quickly before any major expenses are incurred. It can be done, as the ER Vet we've used in the past did this. It prepares the individual for what to expect, and CareCredit would be a nice option for some people, too. So, maybe partnering with that service would be a good addition to the business.

These people are truly amazing. My kitty was treated for an emergency urinary blockage and the staff here was incredible, and took amazing care of my sweet kitty.

Jessey Schuler

The first time I came here was in 2010 with my cat. He had an abscessed anal gland (which turns out wasn't that big of a deal) but the vet took great care of my cat, was incredibly kind, and explained everything so well to me. About a week and a half ago I called around 7am on a Sunday morning in absolute hysterics because my cat was dying. I rushed him up there and because they had me on file from 2010, they told me not to bother finishing the paperwork and to go be with my cat. They took him back IMMEDIATELY and even though there was nothing they could do for him they let me hold him while he passed in a private room and let me take my time. When I picked up his ashes tonight they were again very compassionate. While I hope not to frequent this office, they are wonderfully kind people and I'm glad they're there when the situation arises.

Lexi Wakup

The entire staff here are nothing but compassionate and professional. Thank you for all that you do!

Amy Boggs

Cheaper emergency vet = loooong wait times. I waited with my dog on Sunday morning for almost 3 hours and never saw a vet. When I asked the nurse for an update, she was flippant and rude. I obviously understand traumas take precedence but this was absurd. Avoid this place.

Erica Von

Just had to put my rat to sleep and they were sensitive but to the point and I couldn’t ask for more today. Thank you

Dont Mess With Me

I first had left a ONE star review as when I left on sunday I was charged a huge amount for the pain meds for my cat. However after speaking to the office manager today about it she realised that I had been charged incorrectly and refunded me back a huge portion of it. Additionally I was quite upset about some other things, but Dr Nugent called and we chitter chattered for quite awhile and he was very nice and things will be straightened out. He was very professional, and I was quite impressed - hence my change from a ONE star to a FIVE star review. And truly - its very difficult to impress ME.

Dr. O'Loughlin is the doc who saw my cat, he was amazingly kind and caring and thorough with his exam. I came at 8pm when I noticed my cat's face was half paralyzed, the clinic was able to fit me in without much of a wait and Dr. O'Loughlin worked with me to come up with a game plan to get my cat better. Not only that, but they alerted my cat's primary care vet which has helped me remember how we solved this facial paralysis issue last time it happened 3 years ago. A++ for the entire team at this clinic, including the reception staff who have taken my many confusing phone calls! Thank you all!

On a late Saturday night recently, we brought our cat in for a small wound on his ear that looked to be getting infected. The team at the Emergency Vet Clinic of Tualatin was so incredibly kind and helpful. They cleaned his wound, provided prescribed antibiotics, and made sure we knew how to help him at home. I was blown away by the service, and the price was extremely reasonable, if not shockingly less than I had anticipated. They even reached out to our vet to let them know we came in. Thank you to the staff!!!

Our elder pup had chf. This past weekend she went downhill fast and we made the decision to end her suffering, late on Sunday. We received such compassionate care from both the front end gals and the doctor. Our hearts are broken, but we appreciate how well both our pup and ourselves were treated.

Jessie Smith

Much appreciation for Dr. Pam Williams. She did her best for my dog and showed much compassion when I needed it the most.

Geoffrey Hazelton

Caring people helped at a bad time for us. Our pet kitty of 12 years had to be put down due to heart problems and possible stroke. All this came on suddenly so we appreciate they were open around midnight (open 24 hrs). They quickly did a preliminary exam and the vet was very upfront on the treatment possibilities, probable outcomes and associated costs. After x-ray confirmed the worst we decided to euthanize. They provide a separate room where we spent private time with our pet. We stayed then right up to his last peaceful moments. The vet and all those involved seemed to realize how important and emotional this was for us. They even followed up with a nice sympathy card.

Most wonderful experience here. Front desk lady was so friendly, even when I was freeking out, she stayed calm and confident which helped me feel reassured I brought my baby to the right place. Doctor was awesome, kept me informed, explained to where I could understand. Love this hospital.

Paige Talbot

Always such pleasant and caring staff, we have ferrets which are difficult to find knowknowledge vets for, so having a great emergency vet is important to us . Highly recommend for any pet emergencies.

Sunday night on a 3 day weekend with a very sick kitty. I called and they recommended that I bring him in ASAP. When I went in the door, they were ready and the Doctor saw him immediately. They were fast, professional and kind. They handled a grim diagnosis with sympathy and understanding. Doctor and staff were great. Thanks.

Took my 16 week old munchkin kitten in because he was exhibiting labored breathing. The receptionist immediately took him back to put him in oxygen while we filled out paperwork and waited to see a vet. When an older female vet came back she was very short and cold tempered and asked if we could take xrays and told us it was $115 never told us it would be additional $70 for a second image or even that they would be taking two images. The second time she came into the room she didnt even step all the way in she just opened the door to tell us she was calling a radiologist to ask about the xray images and when we asked her a question she quickly answered in a hurried dismissive manner and closed the door again. When she came back in after speaking with the radiologist she opened the computer in the exam room and held her index finger out at us while she used the computer as if she to tell us "dont talk to me yet I'm busy". When she did speak she told us that our kitten was not normal or okay in any way and had absolutely nothing positive or reassuring to say. She scolded us for having a munchkin cat stating "none of US would ever get a munchkin". by "us" she was referring to herself and the rest of the staff at the vet office. she couldn't even give us any diagnosis and referred us VCA northwest veterinary specialists(where we had an amazing experience). so $270 we walked out with absolutely nothing but bad feelings. I only give them 1 stars because the lady at the front desk was nice otherwise if I could give them 0 I would. Dont waste your time or money just go straight to VCA northwest specialists emergency 24/hr hospital since that is where they will end up telling you to go anyway but not before charging you at least $85 consultation fee.

I’m writing this from the waiting area at 1:30am. There was no line and Dr. Siefken was super helpful and amazing. My dog had an allergic reaction. The Dr. didn’t try to charge me for medication I didn’t need. I drove from Portland- totally worth it. Highly recommend!!!

last Sunday night I got home from work and my husbands dog couldn’t walk well so I looked all over for a vet that was open at 5:30 pm Sunday but the only one I found was Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin. I called them and was told the office visit was $80.00 so I took Harley in, the vet came in and said she needed to do an X-Ray and pain shot because she was in so much pain. I asked how much that was and she said it would be about $100.00 for that stuff, I agreed and she took Harley out. She came back in about 30 min later to show me the X-Ray and she had taken two X-rays and couldn’t see anything but a full tummy and told me she thought it was her back. I asked why her tummy was so full if she hadn’t eaten in 9 hrs? She said she may have eaten something I need to go make her vomit and she left. I thought they would just give her peroxide but she gave Harley two meds without asking me and charged me $75.00 for that and she didn’t even vomit. She wanted to keep her over night for $500.00 and I said I couldn’t afford that so she said she needs to go to a neurologist and have an MRI. I went out to the waiting room and when my bill was ready they called me up and told me the bill was $354.00 not the $180.00 I had agreed to when I told the vet who had now walked in she said oh sorry and the girl at the desk said the vets don’t always know the price of things. I think this is very wrong they take advantage of people who love their pets. I paid the bill and left.

Linda Haynes

Last weekend I had to take my 11 year old small dog for a medical emergency and unfortunately she was much sicker than I thought and i had to make the horrible decision to let her go and end her pain. I cannot thank Dr. Williams enough for her kindness and empathy. She explained all my options and gave me time to grieve. The gentle manner of the physician gave me great comfort. Thank you so very much.

I just wanted to share my experience. My dog ate about half an ounce of chocolate chips, he was puking and shaking with blood shot eyes. I took him in because I was worried. It was a quick visit, maybe an hour. The employees were sweet and accommodating. The vet told me my dog NEEDED to spend the night because he was basically poisoned and they needed to inject him with fluids, monitor his heart and other random things. Well all that was going to be $600-$900+

3am visit with the worlds most gluttonous doodle who was having extreme gastric distress because of said gluttony. This is also the worlds worst behaved doodle when he has to go to the vet! Not a good combination ! The doctor and the staff were excellent with my monster. Professional competent and compassionate, would wholly recommend!

All staff & doctors are wonderful! We had to have our family dog put down on 9/1/19, and they could not have been nicer to us. They were being over-run by many calls that day (Labor Day weekend). But they helped us as fast as they could, at one of the worst moments of our lives, and will have my eternal thanks. Special thanks to one of God's own, Doctor Andy.

They were extremely professional and courteous when I had to bring in my critically ill dog who had to be put down. They were very prompt with getting him seen immediately and thoroughly and directly explaining the situation. They were very compassionate about the whole process of having to euthanize and gave me the opportunity to be as involved as I wished to be with being there with him and explained everything that was about to happen as it was happening. They also gave me a plaster paw print to take home.

spencer price

Nothing but bad service, rude people, and overcharging for simple practices other vets offer at a fraction of the price. Quoted me more than twice as much as another clinic and then said if I don't want to pay, I should put him down. Will never recommend.

Raquel Lemire

The staff are very rude and unhelpful. My dog hadn’t eaten in 2 days (he’s only 10 lbs) and my regular vet recommended that I go to be safe. I waited for 2 hours to be told to “just feed him chicken and rice” after the vet techs could not be bothered to save me time or money. The communication was terrible— I was completely unacknowledged during the wait, and when I asked for an ETA on the vet I was told 15 minutes. 40 minutes later, I had to ask again because they just ignore you once you’re checked in and leave you in the examining room. The vet spent 5 minutes with my dog and charged $85 for nothing. They checked his temperature and weight and that’s all... I explained how dissatisfied I was with their customer service and they didn’t react, but a week later they sent a letter saying that I’m not welcome back. Because you all offer terrible service? Unconscionable. Do NOT take your pet here, they just want your money and do NOT care about your experience at all.

Called in with a sick cat. Receptionist wanted me to wait outside in the winter weather for an undisclosed period of time for help. Wouldn't even give me a rough estimate. My husband called a minute after I hung up, and the receptionist disinterestedly told him it'd be 30 minutes to an hour. Unless you want to wait outside with your critically ill animal in the cold I'd suggest going somewhere else.

Amazing clinic fantastic veterinarians

My pug ate something he wasn't supposed to on Christmas Eve, and the staff at this clinic were incredibly helpful. We are so thankful they were open, and they helped induce vomiting right away. The staff who answers the phone has been helpful to me in the past, as well, when I had a question about my dog's symptoms and thought he was ill. I would definitely come here in an emergency again!

Sandra Cruz

My bird IS NOT dead because of the very awesome care you provided. We really really appreciate that you treated it as the emergency it was before worrying about the money! (unlike Salem emergency veterinarian clinic) My other bird was treated in Salem and unfortunately passed away, we took this one to tualatin and thankfully she is currently healthy and eating chips on our head ALIVE so thank you!

Herve Danzelaud

We sadly had to rush our cat to Emergency Vet in Tualatin last night as she was having congested heart failure (we knew this was coming unfortunately after finding out she had a heart defect a year ago after bad heart incident then which she survived). They were so sweet and very fast at insuring she was pain free and finally at peace and we really appreciate their loving support while there. Dr. Siefken was excellent.

Dayna

We have been to this clinic a couple of times and each time we have received exceptional care. On our latest visit our dog felt comfortable with everyone at the clinic and absolutely loved Dr. O’Loughlin! I can not say enough about Dr. O’Loughlin‘s way with animals, some people just have a gift and he definitely does! He is extremely informative and takes the time to listen and answer questions. I would highly recommend.

Thank you for taking care of my diabetic cat Arlo. I was impressed with the clinic, equipment and the reassuring bedside manner. The care was excellent, practical and a terrific value. I'm so glad I went because Arlo was much better by the next morning and I was able to get sleep that night. I have referred clients to EVCOT from my veterinary practice before. However, this was my first opportunity to see EVCOT in action as a pet owner. I will happily continue to refer patients to EVCOT and let others know what a good experience I had. Thanks!

Jan Harmston

Thank you for being there very early this morning to help my Charley the chocolate eater!! He is much better. You guys are great!

Without writing a whole book, I'm just going to say that now that I've experienced care for my dog at both VCA Veterinary Specialist and at Tualatin Emergency Veterinary Clinic, WITHOUT A DOUBT, Tualatin Emergency Veterinary Clinic will get ALL my future business for any emergency vet needs for my animals. At Tualatin the vet sits down and takes his time to go over the treatment plan with you, and he doesn't speak in a rushed, pushy manner. I really appreciate his bedside manner. I also like that at Tualatin, the vet doesn't look like he just got outta vet school yesterday....is a hospital, and I like seeing mature vets at work. ALSO, the bill was 1/2 the price of VCA, and a lot better care. I give Tualatin Emergency Veterinary Clinic 5 STARS!

Kristine Langridge

The care staff here we're awful. I sat for two hours with an elderly cat and wasn't acknowledged once in the two hours I sat there. I understand it gets busy, I understand they take pets by how severe the issue, but it's just good customer care to say, "just a little while longer", even if it isn't going to be. There were two walk-ins that weren't severe that we're taken in before me. Go elsewhere if you can. Still sitting here, 3 hours with a sick, elderly cat. I will be lodging a complaint with veterinary medical board.

Amazing bedside manner. Absolutely wonderful place when your fur babies need help they take great care of them!

First Class Place! Small joint but great people. Dog ate a cooked spare rib. Quick X Ray showed the larger pieces, induced vomiting to get it all up quickly and then they showed me the pieces that came out. Good expertise and amazing to have these guys and gals open late at night.

We brought in my 18 year old daschund. She was immediately taken back with no wait. The staff was all very kind. The vet was overflowing with compassion. Their price was very reasonable. I have no problems recommending this vet.

A very professional run office. We took our cat, Niles, for an emergency visit and was impressed with how Dr. O" Loughlin took care of explaining what was going on with Niles and the options we had for treatment. My husband and I knew Niles prognosis did not look very good. Dr. O' Loughlin gave us the time to make the decision best for Niles. Niles had kidney failure which was heartbreaking for us to hear. We felt very comfortable in the exam room and knew what was best for Niles. His life was at the end. With the decision made, Dr O'Laughlin and his staff handled everything with upmost care. We felt we were part of the family at the vet's office and they loved Niles as much as we did. Dr. O' Laughlin made us feel very comfortable with our decision and handled Niles like he was his own cat. Thank you so much for being available to us.. We appreciate it.

Our puppy was choking at the park for an unknown reason, we rushed to the hospital and called along the way. The choking quit but we still went to the hospital to have him checked out. We arrived and the front desk tech calmly listened and responded as we explained what happened. We were given forms and taken to an exam room right away. After a few minutes, Dr Dan O Laughlin entered the room and welcomed us with a friendly smile and calm manner. He was very calming and made our nervous dog feel secure and safe. The doctor completed a thorough exam through observation and touch talking through all the main possibilities in an assuring, loving and knowledgeable manner. His demeanor made us less afraid, and assured us that our dog was in very good, loving and capable hands which meant the world to us at that time. He also could have run extensive, expensive tests but took a conservative, non invasive approach which fit the circumstances. Everything ended up fine and we were given medicine and instructions on how to care for our dog in the following days for a very very affordable cost! We could NOT be HAPPIER with our visit to Tualatin Emergency Pet hospital! From start to finish these angels get a five star rating! Thank you Tualatin for taking such loving care of our family!

Our little Papillon who is 4.5 pounds managed to find a chocolate bar in my daughters purse. It was a big dark chocolate espresso bar and she was half way through it when we caught her. We live in Tualatin and were able to get her there very quickly. They induced vomiting and gave her meds to lower her heart rate. She stayed the night and was home the next morning. I was frantic and upset and they did everything to help her. They talked to me and I understood everything that was going on. They called me and gave me an update and I called in the middle of the night to check on her. They were sooooo nice and they took amazing care of our smallest family member. Prices were not as bad as I thought (never had to see an emergency vet before). I just can't say how much I appreciate them and how calm, understanding and you can tell they love animals. I will have their phone number in my contacts and hope I never need to use them again. But if I do, they got her in asap and took great care of her. Thank you so much to the Doctor's and Staff!!! We will not be returning here again...terribly long wait time...we finally gave up and went to another clinic.

Don't be afraid to bring your pet to this clinic. Their prices are affordable and swift to address any immediate concerns you have. Brought my cat in, Maple, for what I feared might a serious illness. After an exam they plainly explained her issues and relieved a lot of stress by providing her the medications she needed. Services provided were exactly what she needed and affordable. Will need further exams but they helped calm my own nerves down regarding the health of my pet.

Sydney Henderson

Staff was incredibly cranky and gave up on a full exam because my pup shied away from a stethoscope. No medical consultation. If I could give fewer stars, I would. They were happy to take my money and irritated my any questions I had due to the cause, how to prevent in the future, and follow up care. Inadequate care. I absolutely not be coming here in the future.

Kerry Boland

Wonderful experience. I'm 7 years late with this review but want to write it anyway. My dog, Lady, got very sick very fast and the staff here were so caring, compassionate and thoroughly explained all the results and the dismal prognosis. They were helpful and respectful of my decision that it would be best to euthanize rather than prolong her pain. Thank you for understanding the human-animal bond.

When my one year old cat was bumped by a car EVCOT was there to help. The front desk staff was very welcoming and supportive. Dr. Reza got my cat back immediately and was very comforting. I had a great experience with their hospital service as I left him in over night. I called to check on him multiple times, each time I wasn't greeted by friendly voices and comfort that he was in good hands. After I picked him up I got nervous that he wasn't doing well and called back in, they told me to bring him in for a quick recheck for free. I would recommend this clinic any day, my experiences was very positive.

Not sure how this place has such a good rating. Very poor quality staff. Lied to me and tried to be sneaky and get me to sign the consent to treatment form when I never did because I didn't have the money for treatment. I told the I had no money and wanted no tests done, the nurse " felt bad" and said she'd take my 7 week old puppy back to get a professional opinion atleast for me free of charge, takes him back, does the blood gousoce test and then tried to charge me for the " exam" and test. Place is a joke looking to make a dollar off anyone. They don't care about you or your pet.

We were in the very unfortunate situation to need the emergency vet about a week & a half ago. We've used this vet for other emergency situations in the past for our bird & dog and been happy with the vet each time. This occasion, however, our dog had taken ill extremely suddenly. Dr. Pam Williams explained her suspicions to us and ordered an x-ray. After the x-ray, the vet explained exactly what was going on with our pet and it wasn't good. She was honest about the prognosis & our treatment options. We discussed surgery, the cost, & what to expect within the next few months if we went that route. She explained exactly what this would all mean to our dog & her quality of life during this time. Dr. Williams was very clear that they could do the surgery but that we should not feel pressured. We had to make the horrible and heart-wrenching decision to put our sweet girl to sleep and I never felt, at any time, that we were being viewed negatively for making that decision. The vet was kind and reassuring the entire time. The techs were also wonderful since it was clear we were really struggling. They came in to take a paw print of our girl that we could take home and they were very sweet to her. A few days later, we received a very nice condolence card from Dr. Williams. It was one of the most heart-breaking experiences of my life, and I really appreciated the kindness exhibited by not only Dr. Williams but the entire staff at Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin. Thank you!

Friendly and caring. We took our 14 week-old APBT puppy here today after he had been vomiting and suffering from diarrhea all day, and we suspected parvo. Everyone on the staff was extremely friendly, caring, and obvious animal advocates. The doctor and the support personnel took time to educate and connect with us and our dog, and conducted a sensitive and thorough exam while treating our puppy with love and respect. We hope it will be a long time before we have to go back, but when we do, we know we will be well taken care of.

Our beloved aging golden retriever, who's been valiantly struggling with mobility problems and has been on a long course of pain meds, finally hit a wall this morning. She could not get her back legs to coordinate and could not get up, and was obviously experiencing pain in the process. My husband carried her to the car and we took her to EVCT. It was a busy morning but we got right in and got an exam room where we could put her on her blanket and let her rest peacefully while waiting for her turn with the busy vet. Dr. Gibbs gave her a friendly and thorough exam, reassured us that her problem was not life-threatening, and could likely be improved through low-impact water exercise and better pain management. She took all the time needed to explain to us what the problem might be (lumbosacral stenosis or disk disease) and what our various options were for diagnosis and treatment. We opted to try the non-invasive pain management option, and she gave us suggestions for how to save money on a long-term course of prescriptions. We started the meds and Rosie is resting easily this afternoon, a much happier dog. I can't thank Dr. Gibbs enough for her compassionate, friendly, and educational approach to treatment.

I have nothing but good things to say about EVCOT. Our 8-year-old dog Zorro had an accident a couple of weeks ago when he jumped off the edge of a 4 foot patio while attached to his leash. After taking an x-ray and seeing fluid in the abdomen and doing bloodwork that showed his potassium was markedly elevated, Dr. Dan O'Loughlin recommended running some tests to determine what was causing the elevated potassium and fluid in the abdomen. Zorro had a catheter placed that night which revealed that his bladder had ruptured when more than 2L of fluid came out through the catheter. Zorro had to have surgery at 4 a.m. that night to repair his bladder. 3/4 of the bladder was torn. Dr. Dan was amazing and compassionate communicating with us each step of the way. He repaired his bladder surgically and Zorro remained hospitalized over Labor Day weekend at EVCOT. We had the opportunity to interact with many of the doctors who cared for Zorro post-operatively as well as some of the vet techs and front desk staff. We found the entire team to be skilled, compassionate and patient with us as we navigated this really scary and difficult time. It was not inexpensive to provide this level of care for my very sick dog, but I will say that they are worth every cent. Dr. Dan and the team at EVCOT saved Zorro's life, and in my mind, they should probably charge much more than they do for the level of skill they have in rendering diagnoses, interpreting results of lab tests and x-rays, their amazing anesthesia and surgical skills, and the close monitoring they provide during and after the procedure, not to mention the amount of time they spent with me throughout the entire process explaining things and answering all of my questions and concerns with patience and kindness. I can't imagine how stressful their job must be most of the time trying to care for very sick pets and their very scared human owners! I highly recommend EVCOT!

I'm so grateful for this place. They have been able to help my cat twice recently. The entire staff is so kind and respectful. The facility is clean and well maintained. This last time that my cat was struggling, just knowing that I got to take her here eased my mind as I knew she would receive exceptional care.

Lindsay Severson

When you need an emergency vet you need it now! They did a great job keeping my kids and I calm. Even warned me that the price was going to be over a certain amount, which I appreciate.

As a veterinarian who refers emergency and critical cases frequently, I can't say enough about EVCoT. First and foremost, they are competent professionals, and beyond that they are compassionate, practical, and reasonable. I highly recommend them for after-hours and emergency care. My clients have all had positive experiences with them and they are wonderful about working with and communicating with daytime practitioners like myself. Thank you EVCoT for all that you do. You truly are life savers!

This is the only vet that will give you an answer over the phone. The receptionists are techs as well and everyone that works there is very knowledgable of veterinary medicine. One Sunday, my dog was having a bad reaction to a booster shot he received from our vet. I called EVERY place in Portland that was open on Sunday and everyone I spoke to acted like his reaction was completely abnormal and freaked me out. I called the emergency vet and the tech who answered said it was actually pretty common what was going on and I even spoke to one of the vets over the phone and she gave me ways to comfort him (he was really sore and could barely move) until I could get him in to my vet. I relaxed a bit and within 24 hours he was completely fine. Recently (last night actually) my other dog started throwing up non stop for almost 2 hours. I called the emergency vet and the tech told me that she would be fine over night until I could bring her in to my vet but to watch for bloating, etc. When her puke started turning bloody looking, I called them an said I'd be more comfortable bringing her in. When I took her, the vet was extremely helpful. He knew that I was freaking out and he immediately calmed me down saying that we have to treat it as something small like she ate something she shouldn't have. He took x-rays and opted for the most inexpensive treatment. I've had ER vet bills that were $500 just for the dog to be seen and with x-rays and consultation it was only around $200 (not much more than what my regular vet charges). Plus the doctor gave me all the answers I needed. I would seriously recommend them for anyone who is having an animal emergency. They know they are pricey so they are as helpful as possible.

Brought my yorkie in with a 103 temperature- lethargic. I wish I could say this was the first time she’s had this issue but unfortunate not. 12 years I’ve been managing her as best I can and I know her well. THEY LISTENED to me!!! What a concept! Ha! She spent two days in the ER and my bill was HALF of what I’ve been paying at the emergency clinic downtown. Thank you for being so caring! I appreciate that so much!

Meg Craig

The staff here is wonderful. Every person we met was compassionate and helpful. They took great care of our cat and fully explained all of our options and treatment plans. They made a very scary experience much easier for us and for our cat and we are very grateful.

A good Vet that will not take you to the bank and shake you down for hundreds of dollars. We've been here twice and have been very pleased with both times. Sadly upon arrival it appeared as if two animals had passed away. The staff was doing their best to comfort the owners. Terrible but that goes a long way for me.

Amber Giurculete

Sat for 3 hrs. Never called my dog back to be seen. My dog has vomiting and runny stool. Intake staff was concerned about dehydration but didn't want me to give my dog water as it might induce vomiting. God forbid my dog vomit on your floor. And yet, not concerned for my dog's health, waiting for hours without water or being seen by a vet? Also, shocking lack of care and compassion for the animals and their owners brought in during my 3 HR wait. I will gladly drive to a further clinic not to subject my pet to this awful place. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Our German shepherd became very ill on Thanksgiving weekend, our vet was closed and we didn't feel comfortable waiting, we knew something was very wrong. We took a chance with EVCOT. Dr. Resa saw us quickly and took an xray. He cane back to our room quickly and informed us that Samson needed surgery immediately due to unknown, at that time, intestinal problem. He wanted to get a surgeon but was unable to find one around on the holiday. Dr. Reza ended up performing a three hour surgery on Samson to repair his obstruced and dying intestine. If he hadn't done what he had, Samson would have died. We are not out of danger with the chance of infection, but will be forever grateful regardless what happens. Everyone we encountered was compassionate and professional. Yes we had a large bill, but a estimate was given before hand. Considering there is very little difference between the treatment of a animal or human, I consider the price very fair. Thanks again to the entire staff.

Courtney Pherson

Not friendly. Female receptionist is incredibly rude. After waiting an hour and a half I asked and was given a very rude response. I will not be coming back here. The doctor and vet tech were friendly. Urine smell is incredibly overwhelming when walking in the door.

We appreciate the urgent care we received last week Friday at 3:30 Am for our sweet Anna. The staff was fast, and supportive during that tough morning for us. I wish I could remember the receptionist name because she was very kind and we really appreciate the support she provided for us and the paw print impression she did of our Anna. We also are very grateful for the sympathy card that we received from Dr. Siefken a couple days following our loss. Thank you so much for all the care and support that you guys provide every day. It really made it easier for us.

Have had to come in multiple times over the years. They have always been excellent and helped with emergency pet issues. The new facility is a very nice step up, as well as the 24 hours now.

This place literally SAVED my English Bulldog's LIFE!!! After being poorly treated at Tanasbourne Emergency Hospital we ended up at Dove Lewis with what appeared to be premature kidney failure. My baby was throwing up for 2 days. Dove Lewis sent us back to our reg vet (Aloha Dog/Cat) to help reduce costs. She needed 24 hr IV, ultrasound, etc and DL openly admitted they were the MOST expensive. Our vet (A.D.C.) referred us to Tualatin Emergency. THANK GOD Dr. WARREN was on duty. Unfortunately by the time my Gunny was admitted she was so DEHYDRATED, she was CRITICAL and near DEATH. Within 24 hrs Dr. WARREN saved her. THANK YOU for being there and accepting to ALL BREEDS!!!

Jake, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, needed emergency care twice. We brought him in, were seen promptly, and most importantly of all Jake was diagnosed, made comfortable, treated, and we left with complete instructions for follow up care. I wish all human emergencies were in equally capable hands!

I took my 10 year old cat to my regular vet because she fell on her side and wouldn't get up and started doing a really weird meowing. When we got to the vet, she could move. Her breathing was a little funny. They mentioned a heart thing, but probably not because she recovered too fast. Said it was probably bad gas. We put her on a new diet. A couple days later, she was wheezing. We took her back to our regular clinic. New vet, said maybe asthma. Put her on prednisone. They pointed out the odd heavy belly breaths. The belly breathing didn't stop two days later. I called, they said it just takes a while for the meds to kick in, but i can bring her in tommorrow. I couldn't wait that long. It didn't feel right. I rushed to this emergency clinic, they right away put he on oxygen and acknowledged the breathing was off and the doctor on call explained everything it could be. That it would cost $700 to diagnose if it was the heart issue, and if it was, it can't be cured. But we might want to check that. See with our regular vet first. So my regular vet called, and said again, it was probably just the meds hadn't kicked in. I made the mistake of listening to her instead of the emergency vet. She fell over again and couldn't move her hind legs, we rushed her to the emergency clinic instead of regular vet because they gave WAY more answers to my crazy amount of questions and looked at the WHOLE picture. New vet on staff recommended the heart expert. Hospitalized her. She had fluid around her heart and lungs. They got her stable. Put her on meds. She's comfortable now. They let me know she has a couple of weeks to three months tops left and comfort is all they can offer and she will be on a lot of meds for the rest of her short life. I am so heartbroken, but so relieved to finally feel heard and have her symptoms taken seriously. To have all my questions answered, and processes explained. They spent a LONG time with me and never made me feel rushed. They listened to her WHOLE medical history and were honest with the prognosis and I call them a LOT with questions about what is an isn't normal, and they ALWAYS take the time with me. Even the receptionist will go get the vet or the heart expert when i wonder if i should take her in or not. She recently developed a cold, and because my trust for them is so much stronger than my old vet, they were the ones who I brought her to. I picked a new vet, at the Sherwood clinic BECAUSE she works at this clinic, and their vets are PHENOMENAL educating and being patient. Her first visit with that vet is today, and i am SO relieved to have this clinic around and these spectacular people around while going through this really difficult time. Thank you for being so caring, and honest, even when it's not the prognosis we want to hear. Knowing for sure her time is coming to and end shortly has allowed us to take family photos with her, and have people who's lives she touched come over to say their goodbyes. It's been so valuable. This is my heartbroken thank you for what you guys do.

Highly recommend. The doctor that attended us provided exceptional care for our pet. He was very understanding of our situation and offered the best care possible within our financial constraints. Although we were there at a particularly busy time, he took the time to explain our pet's condition, and to discuss an optimal treatment strategy for our situation. He didn't try to upsell us on anything, he rather tried to accomplish the best care possible within our budget, and we believe he did. I was very impressed and felt very comforted in the midst of a very difficult situation with our sweet dog's health.

Christopher Hudson

The Clinic really helped my family when we needed it (4AM). Not sure what we could have expected further from them. Great service and kindness. I would say "Thanks" again.

I cannot adequately express how amazingly grateful I am to the staff of this emergency veterinary clinic. I brought my golden retriever in with symptoms of vomiting, and the veterinarian on staff diagnosed her quickly with bloat, an extremely serious condition which is often fatal. He operated on her immediately and saved her life. My husband and I cannot thank this clinic enough for saving our beloved Dogzilla!

Rachel Wallace

They took great care of our cat and answered all my questions. They didn't charge an outrageous amount of money. We paid probably twice what our normal vet would cost, but it was 1am in the morning. We paid less for an emergency visit than a family member in Texas pays for a normal visit. They were awesome!

Unfortunately, I have had to use this vet several times. Two of the occasions, were immediately after leaving a Banfield with an incorrect diagnosis (and huge bill). I don't bring this up to bash on Banfield, but to showcase how great this ER Vet is. Each time we would arrive, we would need immediate treatment. They would get the call from Banfield, and by the time we got there, things were already set up and ready to go. There was always some type of procedure needed; sedation, IV fluids, IV med, cardiac monitoring, etc... Every time I would think, "I'm not going to be able to afford whatever they are doing", and every time I left shocked at how low I was charged. It is an ER Vet, you are supposed to be able to afford it. It is in Tualatin, which is an area that could be taken advantage of on prices. Every single time I have been there, I walked out with triple the work done at damn near the same price as my old Vet. They have always been able to match their speed with the emergencies. I've had to wait in the waiting room before, so they could get a worse off pet in first. I've also been the one who got in faster for the same reason. They have never been rude, lifeless, inconsiderate or overreacting, even when a critter takes a snap out of them while stressed. The best thing Banfield every did for us, was to send us to this ER Vet when they were over their head. I've changed Vets since, but even our new one boasts about this place. To save space, I'll end it here. If you have questions about my experience or this ER Vet, feel free to email me. I typically dislike Vets, and their money grubbing up selling. I also can't stand the guilt trips in procedures, over priced lack luster service and the many fake smiling dunces that are up front. Ask me whatever you want, and I will reply. This place is absolutely amazing, and I will never (if possible) take my pets anywhere else in an emergency.

Our experience with this place has been amazing. I cant say enough good things about them. We were recommended here when our cat needed an emergency surgery over a weekend. The staff were more than great to us. They made us feel very comfortable over the 4 days our cat was getting cared for. We were able to visit a few times and they were always happy to accommodate our cats needs. Unlike just about any other place I've been they were not rushed. The on call doctors were very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything and answer all of our questions. The office and visiting rooms were cleaned after every use and everyone was professional. They require a deposit that covers half the estimated costs. Depending on your surgery expect to spend allot at your first visit. In our experience a surgery and recovery here is not going to be cheap but for everything they do I would highly recommend them.
