1st experience NOT impressed, second experience still NOT impressed. Large dog ran over by 1 ton dually service truck, bleeding, can't walk or use hind legs, visibly looks in shock, has been in this condition for the last 45 min while in transport from Boardman, Or. Friday 2pm, Wait for nurse to bill customer, listen to speech about paying in full for services, go see dog. Leave dog and hope he is ok. 4:30pm Fri, call from clinic, dogs fine, no broken bones, shaved him made an incision and put 2 drains in (didn't take x-rays or do blood work) Pick him up next day $494.80. Monday take him back because he can't get up, is peeing himself constantly & the swelling has engulfed the drains that are now 1/2" inside him, doctor in the bed of my truck cuts 2 stitches, removes drains wraps his tail and hands me another prescript for anti inflammatory, 10 min, $102.10. Thursday morning, take dog to Wade veterinary in Condon (extremely happy with their services) after expecting him to not be alive that morning. Five x-rays, blood work, kept him for 5 days, made another incision to scope inside, informed me of the nerve damage in his hips and something called cellulitis i think, changed his meds, gave me some pill administering treats and fly spray free with a bill of $449.25, plus i've taken him back twice for checkups at no charge. Called and spoke with the vet in hermiston about what they found and they missed hoping to get maybe half my $ back. I was told by his nurse that my dog was overweight and they could justify the billing. I'm a master cert mechanic, if you bring me your car to work on and i don't fix the problem or diagnose it right your not paying for that. How do i justify charging for my time if my time is not spent doing my job.

We have taken all of our pets there, the Dr. and staff are genuinely caring, very friendly and kind hearted people, we recommend them to everyone we know that has pets...plus they are really reasonably priced...we absolutely adore everyone at Country Animal Hospital, Thank you for being there and helping us through putting two of our dogs down do to old age, you all made it so much more peaceful for our dogs and my husband & I...Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts...

Great prices, genuine care for the animals, and a sense of humor with customers. He really knows his stuff. And will take time to make sure you understand what is happening and what you need to do. It's like if your grandpa was the vet and you brought him your pet.

Doc Burgess and his staff are the best. I travel 1 1/2 hrs. each way and it is so worth it for the best care for our animals. They treat you like family. Have been going to the Doc for a very long time and will continue as long as we have 4 legged kids.

"Dr. Burgess does not service smaller animals." (i.e. rabbits, etc) FYI...do not take any of your smaller animals to Dr. Burgess at the Country Animal Hospital, he will not bother to examine them. 5:42PM on 6/27/2019 I took my gravely ill pet rabbit into the clinic, to be met with the Office Manager and a blonde vet tech assistant, who showed zero concern for my pet's deteriorating condition, when I explained what was wrong. Instead of showing any sort of compassion whatsoever the vet assistant said to me "Dr. Burgess does not service small animals so you'll have to try Hermiston Veterinary." This is a Veterinary clinic and their website does not explicitly state that they do not service the smaller creatures, so I am heartbroken that they turned us away in our time of needing a Veterinarian. Regardless of if they could have helped him or not (he died shortly after we brought him back home) it is the PRINCIPLE OF THE MATTER: They did not even try! I will be sharing my story with all the Hermiston area people and I will never recommend the "services" of Dr. Burgess ---or his staff.

I've been taking my pets to Country Animal Hospital for over 14 years and have never had a disappointment at any time. They have always been caring and professional. They've given me options every time that fit what I was able to do. My current Cocker Spaniel is the 4th dog I have been taking to them. Have never had an issue with diagnosis or concerns I have had. I will continue to go there even though I can no longer have an account for payment with them. My first Cocker moved with me from TX to NY and then here to Oregon. His care was always exceptional and he lived to just over 14 years of age. My second 2 I rescued from Beaverton Oregon. One was in poor health when I got him and we kept him going for another couple of years. I lost him @ age 10 due to a stroke. The other one lived to a little over age 15 and his care was always exceptional. The one I now have is 8 years old and has been with me for approximately 3 years. She also gets exceptional care. I would refer anyone to this facility good loving care of their pets.

Dr. Bruce has been our Vet for the last 4 years and it's been a great experience. He is very compassionate with our Scrapps and very helpful addressing our concerns about his health. No matter the situation they always try to make arrangements to check on our 4 legged baby, even with no notice in advance. The staff is very friendly and kind. I will highly recommend this good Vet doc and his staff.

Took our dog in for treatment. The staff was friendly and professional. Dr. James Burgess was great with our girl. I highly recommend Country animal hospital to everyone. They do care and it shows.

My cat had surgery and while she was still at the vet,she got a cold. We had to take her into a different vet and they said she could have died. Not only that we went to take her back in to get her stitches out, the doctors was trying to hurry up and get us out of there that they forgot a stitch on her.... I would not recommend going here

I appreciate what CAH does and have done for all my pets through the years. Staff is always friendly and truly love the pets that come through their door. Dr. Burgess takes his time to discuss with you what treatment options are available for your pet. It is always a good experience, even in sad times.
