Bartlow trail did an amputation on my dogs tail because of an infection. They proceeded to charge me for the wrong size and type of cone and he repeatedly was able to remove the bacndage. They kept charging me 31$ even after the 1300 dollar bill to remove the tail. Dogs get there tails cropped all the time, and it is nowhere near 1300. I was worried about my dog so I paid for it. To be nickel and domed twice a week for 31 dollars only to have him continuously be able to remove the bandage is a major insult. In a medical setting when one pays for a surgery(from my human experience) after care and follow up are included. When you get stitches they do not charge to remove them This place is not concerned about your animals well being only the money. Avoid this place like the plague. Brambles deserved better. I wish I had known.

Dr. Houston is the best veterinarian we found while living in Oregon. She is super knowledgeable and you can tell she really cares about your fur babies. We recently moved and my hope is we can find as good a vet in NC. Although we only visited the clinic when we needed medication for them, shots and check-ups, when my oldest dog recently passed I actually thought of calling Dr. Houston to let her know because she made us and our pets feel so comfortable.

as a veteran with a lot of baggage to say the least. DR. Houston and the entire staff has really gone above and beyond when I have needed them both from barlow trail and coming to my home. my pets and other animals that have joined mount recon they have been hand in hand also helping me prep for my dogs of war retirement project also at my home. but all in all with no bullcrap I trust dr Houston with my bob and bella's lives, and if you knew me and my bond with animals it's saying a lot...

We took our 16 yr old in for a limp, what we got was more than any exam he has ever had. We walked out happier and more hopeful he would be with us for a little while longer. Absolutely love Dr Huston and all the staff.

On Sunday morning I concluded that my elderly dog had a urinary tract infection. I had been using another vet in Sandy that does not have Sunday hours. When searching the internet for an emergency vet I was pleasantly surprised to see Barlow Trail has Sunday hours. They did not have any convenient times for a regular appt. but they could get me in with an appt in "urgent care" for only $20 more. I saw Dr. Houston. I was very impressed with her care of my dog. She was compassionate, very thorough, very patient and took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions. I feel very confident with her care of my dog. Also I found the staff very friendly and efficient. Looks like I'm changing vets!

I've been bringing my pug to Barlow Trail for almost 5 years now, since we moved to the Sandy area. Pugsley is almost 13 and she's had a few veterinarians throughout her lifetime. Dr. Houston's care of Pugsley has been nothing short of exceptional. She is as mindful and sensitive about the cost of Pugsley's care than I could hope for. It's not cheap owning a pet, especially as they get older and start to have health issues. Dr. Houston has helped as much as possible to keep our cost minimal. When I have to bring Pugsley in, I know she is going to get the best care. Dr. Houston and her staff are a comfort to my little family and I am grateful that I have the privilege to bring Pugsley here. I couldn't recommend their services enough. Thank you!

I cannot say enough great things about this small clinic. It came recommended by my neighbor when I was upset about other clinics, including the specialist by the way, who kept wanting to charge me to run more test and still not helping my dog. Dr. Brenner chose to look at the test that had already been done, suggested a trial of something completely different then what we had been doing. Well, my dog is finally doing better and steroid free! If I there is a catch it was that they were busy and I did have to wait about 10 minutes past my appointment to get in. That is less than I always have to wait to see MY doctor, and it was easy to see why they were as busy as they were. From now on i am going not going anywhere else! On a side note, my neighbor had actually recommended me to The Village Vet, but when I called the day that worked for me, Dr. Brenner was working at Barlow Trail, apparently owned by the same person the veterinarian works at both.

Sadako Hoffman

They were able to get me in same day. They had everything I needed on hand. The vet and staff were great. I'd definitely take my dog back here.

BooBoo my Jack Russell hand an ear that was bothering him. Another vet said 2 week wait for an appointment. Barlow Trail Vet Clinic got me in in 20 min. Dr. Houston was awesome she identified the problem within about 10 min after examining BooBoo. Gave him some topical antibiotics and we were on our way. Staff was friendly and easy to communicate with. The Dr. herself was outstanding. Such a good experience and most important of all my dog is feeling better I can see that for sure. Thanks Dr. Houston you are now the vet I will turn for the dog and cats.

Theresa Loftin

The doctors and staff were very friendly and througho.

Tina Cranford

Dr. Houston and her staff are awesome they answered all of our questions and were great with our animals. I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of care for their animals. We have 2 dogs and a cat and Dr Houston gave each of them individual attention and made them and us feel comfortable.

Staff was unhelpful answering questions regarding pricing, the staff seemed very uninteresting in helping me decide where to seek treatment for my animal, I then called the VCA in town all of my questions were answered, I would not recommend Barlow trail veterinary clinic to friends or family

Maxine Phillips

We were working temporarily at Mt Hood Village and I took a co-worker's recommendation for this clinic. My experience with the veterinarian and the tech were fine, although we had to wait approximately an hour for our first visit. I do have a problem with the fact that they advertise they accept Care Credit but, when I offered that for payment, I was told it has to be a $300 minimum or they will run the card for $300 and apply it as a "credit" to your account. I also understand they want to make a profit on meds prescribed, but when the charge for a generic thyroid medicine is $60 more than it is for the same medication ordered online or from my previous clinic, I believe that is gouging. Finally, when we were ready to return to the east coast and were 50 miles away, I called and asked for a prescription for the levothyroxine to be mailed to me or to have it called in to a pharmacy. They refused saying confusion had arisen in the past. If my internist has no problem calling medication in to Walgreen's and none of my previous vets have had this problem, I believe the problem to be theirs. There always seems to be an reason for noncooperation. My recommendation is to find another place more affordable and more cooperative.

We originally took our dog to Barlow Trail because of the arthritis in her hips and spine. Our first visit was free and they treated Tasha with special care and love. We were there for about 3 hrs and were with the vet or techs the whole time. They did blood work on Tasha and then took the time to explain to us what they found out. We left with 2 prescriptions one for her arthritis and one for pain. A couple days later they called to see how she was doing. My husband said he was jealous because he never had a family doctor call to see how he was doing after an office visit.

Juanita Priest

Dr. Wall and her staff at Barlow Trail were excellent in helping my cat, Angel, with her urinary issues. Angel can be very feisty with growling and biting but they handled her very gently and they were very patient. I also appreciate the new client perks they gave me as this was our first visit. They are also great at giving aftercare advice for us clients who live out of town. The front desk people are knowledgeable and efficient. Thank you Barlow Trail, Dr. Wall and your awesome vet technicians.

Martin Curtis

Best veterinary clinic in this town very compassionate towards the animal and the owner wants everything to be great for them

Linda Moredock

We were in the waiting room and a elderly man and his wife came in to have their dog treated, the man after waiting quite awhile asked for a cup of water, he needed to take his pills at 4:00 . The counter help said that he could walk over to the coffee shop to get his water for his pill. This is a elderly man that walks with a cane. I was shocked and left and brought him water., If this is the compassion to our elderly, than how are our animals treated. We will not go back,

Veterinary clinic is excellent. Persons are kind and good service. Located in Sandy. Have parking. My cat had an abscess on her leg. We arrived in the morning on our apartment. Which we did in a day before. Veterinarians quickly dealt with this problem. The cat made a small incision removed the pus and all that was there in the leg. I don't know what they did, but there is no scar on the cat's leg. Work done perfectly. Well treated the wound. They gave a pill antibiotics for cats. After 2 days they called and asked about the health of my kitty. The animal quickly recovered. I want to thank the staff of the veterinary clinic many thanks for saving the life of my kitty. Recommend!

Alicia Beselin

Very friendly, compassionate & they really help with our furbabies!

Maxxwell Hung

The worst vet clinic ever. I went in 4:00 pm on a Monday with my dog Halo and I asked if she could be seen. They said no unless she was an emergency. We sat there for 30 minutes. I asked what the extra charge of $70 was for and what was taking so long? The receptionist was rude and we ended up walking out. Talked to a lady at Safeway while looking for a vet and she also said they were rude and charged her $100 to examine their dog before putting it down and recommended Sandy Animal Clinic.

Dr. Houston and her staff are great, very friendly and easy to talk to. My dog had surgery last week and I was concerned about how his back area would look after the surgery since the tumor had turned his skin a dark color, Dr. Houston did an awesome job with removing his tumor and was able to remove the dark spot with her great stitching. Thank you Dr. Houston! You always make me feel like my dogs matter and you're always so cheerful!!

We brought our cat Ginger in and she was close to death. Dr. Huston Diagnosed the heart problem and treated Ginger at the clinic and prescribed the proper medication for us to give her. It's been a month now and our beloved Ginger is doing great!!! Dr. Huston saved our cat's life!!!! I recommend Dr. Huston of Barlow Trail Vet Clinic to anyone! She's the best!!!

First time at Barlow this morning and it's my new favorite!! Dr. Houston is absolutely amazing! Taking my cat to the vet is always a huge ordeal because he gets so stressed but Dr. Houston handled him so incredibly, it's like she's the cat whisperer! He was completely in love with her by the end of the visit which put me at ease. She took care of all of his problems without charging me an arm and a leg, I will definitely make this our new vet :)

nancy byerley

Dr. Houston is the greatest. She examines my pets without their ever having any trauma. They all love her. She listens to me and is professional and friendly in her approach. The facility is always clean.

Dr. Houston is a remarkable Vet. She has a special gift for relating to her clients. Thanks!

I was seen on time. The staff was friendly. The place is super clean. Dr. Houston is the genuine article, she understands pets, she is fair , she is a sweetheart, she is a competent vet. No nonsense place, you won't be charged for things you don't need. The care is obvious and you can consider yourself lucky if your animal is a patient at Barlow Trail. Above and beyond.

Claire Lyvinsov

Dr. Houston is very kind and empathetic. The staff are all friendly as ever. The place can get busy and I will say they seem to always run a little late BUT you have to expect that when they get so many emergencies. Their prices are reasonable. I am learning that young/healthy adult dogs seem to cost nothing but as soon as they take that turn to becoming a senior they require a little more care. Dr. Houston diagnosed my dogs heart condition and ran lots of tests so she could properly serve/manage my dogs disease while prolonging her life! No, this was not cheap and yes I was a bit shell shocked at first BUT like I said my dog didn't hardly cost anything in medical expenses for 10 years and of course I want to make sure she's comfortable now that she's an old lady. I have read that people have gone elsewhere for service to find better pricing and I admit I shopped around myself but Barlow has the most reasonable prices I could find near me without going into the city and still getting that small country vet feel. Also they accept care credit and have an easy to set up payment plan. Be sure to check out their online pharmacy that saves you money and delivers to your house so make sure to ask about that at your next appointment. Super easy to set up (better yet, they even will help set it up for you!) And they have automatic shipment. I came home today and Dr Houston called and talked to me about my dog and her lab work. I know for a fact their office closed at 4 and yet she called after hours to talk with me and to set up my online prescription.. That is called costumer service and caring about your clients. So, when you scroll through all the negative comments I hope mine will ease your mind.

I have a new German shepherd puppy, and we have been taking him here. Dr. Houston was very gentle and kind with him. It is clear that she truly cares about the animals she sees! My pup was so comfortable he fell asleep on the exam table! We had him microchipped here as well and the staff was very good at distracting him with treats; he didn't want to leave! My boyfriend recently took three of our cats here too for an unknown mouth infection/illness. Each of the cats had gotten very sick very suddenly. I am glad to say that after treatment they are all feeling 100%! I have always had a positive experience with the front desk staff as well. Everyone there just loved my pup!

Today I Took my 15 y/o neutered male Persian kitty to see Dr Houston. Originally the visit was for euthanasia. My kitty has stage 4 renal failure and vomiting is an almost daily occurrence. His appetite tanked this past week and he was losing wt and getting weak. I thought, sadly, the time had come to put him out of his misery. The thing is he just didn’t have that look in his eyes like he was done with living. I tested it by playing with him and he perked up, got wide eyed and ran after the red laser dot like a kitten. Then he chased a ribbon trailing on the floor. I talked to Dr Houston about my feelings and she gave my kitty a very thorough exam. She talked about many options for treatment that might extend his life a bit more comfortably and we would see how he did. She helped confirm that he was not acting like he was ready to throw in the towel quite yet so that made me feel better. I found her to be very kind, professional, knowledgeable and my kitty liked her. She has such a wonderful kind manner and I quickly developed great respect for her. Her staff were quite wonderful and I felt like i was taken care of as well as my kitty. My last vet had such a rude, condescending manner and i grew to hate having any interaction with him. I knew it was time for a change even if it was just to put my kitty to sleep though thankfully With Dr Houston I think we may enjoy some more time together. She gave me options my previous vet never even brought up. I’m so glad to have found Dr Houston and the Barlow Trail Clinic in Sandy. I feel we are in the hands of a Dr with great knowledge, kindness, genuine love of animals and integrity. My Kitty and I have definitely found our new Veterinarian!

My German Shepherd wasn't eating or drinking much water and had a fever. They took him in as an emergency and wasted no time trying to figure out the issue while trying to save me as much money as possible. After a blood test within the hour that I brought him in they figured out it was salmon poisoning and prescribed him some Doxycycline. Within two days after he started taking the pills he started improving and the follow up appointment was free. I used to always be nervous at the vets because my Shepherd isn't very stranger friendly but somehow he took a liking to the vet and gets his shots without an issue. Thank you Barlow Trail Veterinary Clinic for taking great care of my pup. You guys will continue being my clinic of choice. (Special thanks to Dr. Davis and Sean for helping me out. Very knowledgeable, kind people.)

I am so glad that we found Barlow Trail and Dr. Thompson! All the staff are very competent and kind, and I feel like they genuinely know and care about my family's animals. We have both pets and livestock and Barlow Trail is great with both. The clinic makes me feel like we are a team in treating my animals, sharing knowledge and coming up with treatment plans, somethign not all veterinary clinics seem to do today. Value is very good for the excellent service, which matters, too. Thank you, vets and staff--we appreciate you!

I found Dr. Houston on accident and it was the best accident that has ever happened! She is kind and genuinely cares about your pets well being. I never felt pressed into doing extra procedures, they explained everything thoroughly and helped me through every process. The staff offered to help me carry things to my car and they were so kind to my chug who is a caution, cranky dog. I am so glad I found Dr. Houston and her staff!

Difficult front desk people. The vet was amazing. We're a lesbian couple & the homophobia is here. We foster animals that need special attention including rabbits & we heard the remarks the front desk negative girls whispering about how gay it is. Whatever it is that they were whispering they were actively talking about our case anyways. We went in on a instinctual 911 visit & don't have $ & they will take the payment later so they got one solid star for that one because they made everything entirely difficult. The lady with the dermal piercing is unreadable with a angry yet disgusted face on every time I see her. This was the second time going in & I'm going to finish my animals treatment & move on. I have 2 dogs & 2 cats. I am looking for a great exp & a home town feel near me to take all of them too & we need quality care to be apparent even at the front desk where veterinary assistance sit.

We called this clinic bc we knew we probably had to put our very sick dog down. It was a very hard time for us & it was right as we had our newborn. Dr. Houston, took one look at him & knew he had Kidney cancer/issues. We were devasted but she was so kind/sincere. My husband raved about her. Months past & we never received a call for our paw prints we were suppose to have done by the clinic( before they cremated him. )We got so busy with our new born, we didnt call in until later but the office didn't find them. The office claimed they must have sent them to there sister clinic. They told me they would get to the bottom of it, when they were open next. I never got a call back & I had to call in yet again to find out what was going on. When I called in, I was told that I needed to speak to whomever I orginally spoke to & that I needed to track her down myself at the sister clinic. This was a bit frustrating & seemed like poor customer service to have me tracking down info/staff to tell me what happened or didn't in this case. They sent me on a wild goose chase instead of getting back to me. I finally got a hold of the lady & she was very kind. She informed me they messed up & at the very least we would get our money back. They, completely on their end, did not mark the box in order to have our dog prints done. I started to get a little teary because I was expecting this now for months & we didn't have anything else now to remember him by. Plus, we had to tell our kids which wasn't easy. The big upset here was not them messing up & not getting the dog prints. I understand human error & Dr. Houston called us personally to apologize which was nice. She was devastated herself & I know she felt horrible. My dissappointment mostly comes from the majority of the office staff. We had been promised, from both the Dr. & another staff member we'd receive our $50 back (since we didn't receive our service). When I called back in a couple weeks later, I told the office I saw there online ad about giving a new client a free appointment. I explained to them I still wanted our $50 back but we really wanted to get a free first appointment as well bc my dogs ears were bothering him. Our dog should be considered a new client bc he hasn't been there before & my last one only went to be put down. Instead, I was told they couldn't do that quite abruptly. I would need to choose from the $50 (that was rightfully ours & already promised) or a free appointment. I was pretty perplexed by this because I wasn't asking for anything extra that they weren't already offering the community . The office acted as they were doing us some grand favor by giving our $ back. I was just asking for them to consider my dog a new client or asking how the promtion worked. However, under the circumstances, I thought they should do a bit more than just refund us our own money. I informed the gal I spoke we really wanted to continue to see Dr. Houston & hoped she could care for our other dog. She said we can only give you your money back. I said, I was already promised that. The office refused to help us any further & acted as if we had done something wrong on our end. We were very gracious, extremely kind/understanding, & diplomatic to everyone we spoke with. Especially, considering how upsetting it was not to receive those paws that were sentimental to us. They didn't do much to make their wrong right & seemed like they were disinterested in keeping us as a customer. When I went to pick up the money, the office lady was nice & apologized about the mishap. I appreciated this nicety & wish the management would have shared this sympathy. There had been not much empathy at this point, except from Dr. Houston & a select few office staff members. Dr. Houston is a keeper but this place definitely isnt!! There idea of customer service is beyond strange & disappointing.

I first visited Barlow Trail when my 12 y/o golden became really sick overnight. I met with Dr.Houston who was a god send in such a hard time. She was extremely patient with us as we navigated our old dog's health and didn't pressure us into any services. Soon after I adopted a 5 y/o lab and of course we go to Dr.Houston exclusively for him. She's so respectful of my budget, time and pocket book and I really appreciate that. I'll be a loyal customer of Dr.Houston's as long as she's working!

We have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Barlow Trail Veterinary Clinic. I have had many dogs and seen many vets. I appreciate that Dr. Houston does not pressure you to buy/do every last thing to make her money. Vet's have gotten so greedy and I have often felt like I was buying a car when taking my dog in for an appointment. I do not feel this way at Barlow Trail. Dr. Houston is very respectful and clearly wants what is best for our pets. She has a true heart for animals. Recently we had to have our sweet dog put to sleep. Dr. Houston came to our home (this was so very affordable) and was compassionate and professional. We do not live close to the clinic so I was extra thankful that she was willing to do this with short notice. It was a sad day and Dr. Houston made it easier. I appreciate this clinic and Dr. Houston and will use Barlow Trail for all of our future needs. Sincerely Michelle Cox

Alright first off, my cat (Princess Chitty Kitty Bang Bang, The Ruthless) will mess you up. She's a sweetheart to my girlfriend and I, but strangers she hates. So, Kitty decided to punk out some raccoons, doesn't go well for her and she gets a chunk taken out of her leg. Take her in for an emergency visit and they take her straight back and examine her. They have to sedate her because of the way she is, I get that. They keep her for a night for surgery and it costs a pretty penny, I get that too and Kitty is the love of my life so easy decision. Pick Kitty up next day and they give us some Gabapentin. A week in and my girlfriend starts freaking out over some drainage so we take Kitty in (not an emergency visit but they get her in that day), Kitty's fine... No charge. Two week appointment comes up and we take her back in. Incisions look great but Kitty has dead skin covering a wound not healed yet so they cut that off and send us home, once again no charge. So in general, they are super nice and love animals... Which is a must, but what impressed me was not charging me on the last two visits and that really helped after paying for the surgery. I recommend.

Didn't find out what was wrong with my old cat but they were very friendly and prompt with seeing her.

I am very pleased with the front desk professionalism and personal attention that my puppy received. As we were brought back, Dr Houston was waiting for us. She was very hands on, knowlegable, thorough then spent precious time to answer questions about the do's and dont's of bringing up a puppy. Thank you Dr Houston and all the kind staff for the worry free visit.

Disorganized, & expensive, had to wait 2 hours for a 20 minute appt.I was early for. They couldnt print prescription label because thier printer wasnt working. Vet was not available for consultation after paying $700 for my dogs exam, eye drops, & blood work. They do not work with online pharmacies. So, I paid $47 for some $15 eye drops.

Wonderful caring veterinarians

Down home good people who care.

The Vets at Barlow Trail are wonderful. They seem very knowledgeable and are very caring towards our pets. I do not get the impression the front desk people have a lot of knowledge of animal care but of course that is not their main function. I do not know if the cost of medications at this clinic is competitive with other clinics, the cost seems a bit high.

I highly suggest you don’t seek these people’s services. Certainly, do not work for them. They gave me the contact information of someone who blatantly tried to scam me out of thousands of dollars after I applied for one of their job listings. Very sketchy business. Just stay far away from Barlow Trail Vet Clinic.

For those of you who love your furry friends like, and sometimes MORE then family...this is the place to bring them. The entire staff is loving and caring and give the best quality of care all while remembering the purse strings are very tight.

To be honest I want the option of no star but they won't let me post this otherwise. My chihuahua got attacked by a coyote early Thursday morning and the soonest they could get me in was around noon on Saturday (two days later, which throws this buisnesses urgent care card out the window). I live down the road so it's a quick drive getting there, but they scheduled my appointment during a street festival. I had no knowledge of the festival due to the fact that I live in the town next to this one and don't receive the town's local news. The traffic was the worst I have ever seen in my life (Which is uncommon for a weekend). The festival traffic made me late & they called and cancelled my appointment right when I was entering their parking lot. This shows to me that if they really cared about my dog they would of honored my appointment. Especially knowing that not an every day occurence, like a street festival is going on right outside their buisness door which will knowingly delay their clients from showing up on time to begin with. I have been to this vet once before and really considered going back due to their very steep prices, but this incident was the final straw. Time for a new vet. Hopefully one that does actually what their paid to do taking care of your animal and provide good customer service.

Dr.T is a very young & caring Vet with a vast knowledge of the animal Kingdom's needs .We shall return when the need arises.

Dr Thompson is a gem. She has treated my dairy goats and my house dog with care, respect and a thoroughness I SO appreciate. Her staff is friendly, knowledgeable and patient. I'm so grateful she's happy to see goats in addition to house pets.

The front desk staff needs better customer service training.

Great service at a reasonable cost.

We came here with our dog who had been hurt while on a hike. It was our first emergency vet visit with our dog and we were outwardly nervous. Every single person working in that clinic made us feel 100 times better about the situation, from the wonderfully kind and attentive ladies working the front desk, to the veterinarian and her assistant. They treated our dog with kindness and care as if it was their own dog, even when he growled at them. I am so so grateful that we chose this clinic to visit and would come here for everything if we lived closer. Highly recommend for minor and major issues, emergency services, anything. And they call to check up on your pet the next day. Thank you so much to all involved.

Everyone was so helpful and they got us right in the same day. Very pleased with the staff and their prices are a little better than where we were going.

Michelle Peyton-grenier

Emergency for our dog, on a Sunday! Treated and checked all out. Affordable too! Extremely nice staff!!!

Once again terrible experience with Barlow Trail. Even though we are current at another vet and have records to prove it, they apparently don't want to make any money off of us. Will not do a simple gland expression and nail trim without an exam there, nor will they sell us prescription dog food without an exam there. Even though we have a written prescription. Apparently if they can't make a lot of money off of you they don't want any. That's fine.... I WILL NEVER EVER TRY THEM AGAIN! That was the second try in four years, thought maybe things had changed, much to my demise they have not. Good Luck

We love Dr. Houston! She is not only great and loving with our dog Rosie, but she is also great with us. She takes her time to explain everything and she is really concerned about the best care for Rosie. We truly trust her and feel like she only recommends care that is really necessary and she is not trying to up sale us like so many other vets we have dealt with. Her staff is friendly and they are all great with Rosie. We feel very lucky that we found her, and we drive out of our way for her services because the peace of mind she provides is worth.

Melissa Perry

Brought my 3 dogs in today for updated vaccines (We are new to the area so they also had their initial exams). They were all very sweet and helpful! The vet (Kara Leavitt) sat on the floor with them and was petting and loving them, making sure they were all comfortable. Great vet and very nice receptionists!

Brenda Hoyt

Great staff and great doctors, that take the time to talk to you and explain what your pet needs. Affordable too.

We've been pet-patients since Dr Housten took over our 25+ years w Dr. Wainwright who retired - Village Vet Damascus. We're delighted & pleased with Dr Houstens obvious caring & compassion & knowledge. Recently, one of our older cats, Tilly developed serious illness, fiinally diagnosed late stage lung cancer and we had to say goodbye. Dr Housten assured us that was time to say goodbye. Tilly spent 12 years on Larry's lap while he engineered every 911 & ER radio system in the PacNW. Motorola's mascot! She purred / slept, helping Larry keep calm & focused. Tilly's responsible for helping everyone keep safe= able to call 911- Larrys a cancer survivor so loosing Tilly to cancer seriously hit home. So, it was a very sad day for us having to say goodbye. Barlow Trail/Dr Housten deserves a full 5 star review! The staff have always been very kind, friendly/ caring except for the one thing we've already discussed w Dr Housten. We understand why as a few bad people has forced this, but would like to see a changes about their policy of prepaying for euthanasia. (that part gets a negative 5 star) The rules need to bend for those long term patients & have the means to pay. We'll be facing this again, may be soon. Tillys sibling, Bitty-Boo is seriously ill w bacterial infection & isn't improving w meds. I wish they had after hours on-call...having to take Bitty-Boo elswhere or be seen by ER clinic isn't good as they don't know him or whats happening= you never know who you'll get to see then. Newly grads work there. But isn't always bad. PS... I read Sara J's review and how she felt the girls were whispering, behind backs because they're lesbians... if this happened, I would be very shocked. I don't want to minimize or be dismissive about what you wrote as I wasn't there. I do understand that sometimes those who are LBGT/trans, suffer low self esteem, worry/ believe others are making ugly remarks or passing judgement of them. and YES, people get ugly, believe they have the right to pass judgement BUT, From what I've learned, from my numerous NUMEROUS visits to both Dr Houstens clinics, her staff have ALWAYS been 99.9999% respectful, caring, kind and helpful to everyone. I've spent hours sitting in their front waiting area. NEVER ever witnessed any of the staff acting ugly towards anyone! Perhaps they were whispering about something totally different, had nothing to do with you or your being lesbian. Dr Housten is a very caring, kind hearted soul. Have you met her? I think if you had, you'd feel very different than what you believe happened. I don't think she would approve of any of her staff making ugly judgmental/criticism remarks, whispering or statements about or towards any of her pet parent-patients! I'm sorry that people do pass judgement on those who are "different" than what they believe to be normal...but I've not seen any of this at Barlow Trail office or Village Vet and we've been going there since 1989! We have 5 cats (2 are very old) one has dementia and 2 older dogs and so we need good veterinary care that is close by. I hope you will return there and maybe talk to Dr Housten personally about what happened and how you felt then. From what I've witness they all really do care! Sara J, thank you for caring enough to seek medical help for Gods creatures! ANYONE who cares enough to care for Gods little defenseless creatures proves you are a good soul! Lesbian/LBGT or what people believe to be "normal"- deserve to be treated like they wish to be treated! My husband and I are both committed Christians and we do our best to follow Jesus example and that only God knows ones heart and only HE has the right to make/pass judgement towards anyone as only HE knows why we are the way we are. No one is without sin and NO ONE is perfect except God. Our motto is: Don't hate me for my sinning differently than you! also: No one will remember what you said to them, but they will remember how you made them feel! I'd rather have snarky receptionist w the best doctor than have wonderful staff, but a Dr Killz'all Dr Kavorkian!

Love the vet there, but they're high in price compared to other local good vets.

Matthew Mitchell

We've been taking our pack of three to Barlow for approx a year and we love their services. The staff is very attentive and Kelsy in the front of the office did an amazing job at helping submit paperwork to my insurance provider. She was so on top of it, that everything was submitted and accepted by my insurer by the time I got home. Keep up the great work!!

This isnt a review I have a question. Do you have any reptile specialists? I have been looking for one

I have to be honest I heard bad things about this vet, but had an emergency Sunday morning and had no choice but to go here, but the place was brilliant we were greeted with smiles and very proffesional, the vet was so easy to talk to and despite quoting between 1100 to 1500 to sort my car out it ended up under 800, my cats stomach was stitched up to an amazing standard that I am happy recommend to anybody and will be using here as my permanent vet now. So far too after care is great, first vet I've ever known to call the day after to see how she is doing, TAKE YOUR PETS HERE
