Our first visit at the 5th ave location was yesterday morning. I have seen the building many times in passing and was looking for a place to take my new pup. Based on other reviews, I chose to make an appointment here. I've been to other animal hospitals in the past, but this one is definitely the best yet. The woman at the desk was very friendly, helpful, and kind. When we got situated into our room, I noticed they had a dry erase board that said "Welcome" with all of the pets names, including my new puppy! The tech, Jen, and Dr. Kirby were very easy going. I adopted my dog from the shelter and he has been timid around strangers. They sat with him on the floor while they did his exam. They were very open to questions and addressed everything I had mentioned over the phone when I first made the appt. Really happy with the entire experience! Highly recommend.

We have been taking our 1 year old Golden Retriever to Northstar Animal Care since we got him last March. I've been with Dr. Adam Parson since he first opened. He and his staff have seen me through the normal visits and the sad visits. Throughout it all, they have provided exceptional care to my animals and to me. They even jumped through hoops to help out in an emergency when I was out of the country and my pet sitter had to take in my bird. Even though I live in Westerville, it's worth the trip!

It's hard to put into words my relationship with this vetiniary group. I've gotten to know so many vet techs due to doing laser twice a week for three years on one of my dogs. The truth is, they wish they had magical powers to make it possible to keep our furry ones around as long as we are, but they are only human. Which human is not a bad thing. They are filled with not sympathy, but empathy when things don't go as planned. They are compassionate and understanding. I love how they work as a team to find the right solution or options for your pet and for you. I trust in their advice and medical referrals because I have found not only do they have professional relationships with the fine folk's at MedVet, but they have personal ones as well. Everyone speaks highly of them, as do I. I know from experience all my pets are in the best care humanly possible from the folks at the counter who great you with a smile and take our calls and e-mail all the way to those who stick and prick your fur-babies to finally the veterinarians who take the time to really listen to you, even cry with you and who treat their staff and clients like family. What more can I say? I adore them!

Clean facility. Professional service. If you would like to be with your pets during examination, as a reference, they took my cat to the back room for vaccination, and I was allowed to go in with my cat during the annual exam. I took my cat here for a couple years until I switched to another facility because they were not available when my cat was needing urgent care.

We have been going here since getting our puppy over a year ago and they have always been great. We recently had to bring our dog in for an urgent evaluation as we were concerned for obstruction. They were able to squeeze us in immediately and Dr. Parson still gave us her full attention. She quickly diagnosed the problem and treated our dog like he was one of her own. When she was unable to offer the treatment he needed, she promptly referred us somewhere that could and even called ahead and personally spoke to the emergency vet there. Thankfully our pup is doing well now and it is all thanks to Dr. Parson!

My wife and I have been taking our corgi (Russo) to Upper Arlington Veterinary Hospital since we moved to Upper Arlington from Chicago more than a year ago. Russo is almost 12 years old and needs careful assessment and evaluation because of his lengthy health history and current needs (among other things, he has significant and debilitating arthritis in a number of areas). My wife and I have been consistently happy with the care Russo has received. Russo has for the most part seen Dr. Joanna Parson, but also saw Dr. Adam Parson a time or two. Both Joanna and Adam are caring, attentive practitioners with an obvious and genuine concern for their canine and feline patients. The concern is paired with expertise and competence. In addition, the therapeutic approach is to listen carefully as I describe Russo's current condition, and essentially offer a menu of options from which to select as the care is customized to optimize Russo's well-being. There is never pressure to select a particular approach, and the process feels collaborative. Beyond Joanna and Adam, our experience with all of the staff has been excellent. Everyone has been courteous, professional, and responsive. In sum, when we moved to Upper Arlington and spoke to a few residents about where to take Russo, Upper Arlington Veterinary Hospital was highly recommended. I certainly agree, and recommend the facility whole- heartedly.

Our puppy, Scout, at less than a year old, is tenacious and on the go. Sometimes that has resulted in our needing to consult the vet quite frequently. The staff and doctors at Northstar have been so attentive and patient in taking time and energy talking us through all the ins and outs of new puppy parenthood, and we couldn't be more pleased. Scout is also elated every time we come within fifty feet of the front door. She loves Dr. Adam Parsons and the staff at Northstar, and so do we!

I have two cats that have visited Northstar Animal care and I was very pleased with both visits. My first visit was just a checkup for my first cat. He was purring and loving the attention the vets and staff were giving him! Even though he did not need any medical attention that day, he was still handled with great love and care. My second visit was after I 'adopted' a cat from a friend. She had never been to a vet and she was 6 years old. Dr. Parson and techs handled her with exceptional care and went great lengths to keep her comfortable and not stressed out. We found that she had a heart murmur and Dr. Parson explained everything that needed to be done before she could be spayed safely. I was very impressed that Dr. Parson was concerned about the safety of her surgery and her overall health. She has since been seen by a cardiologist and cleared to be spayed. I cannot thank Dr. Parson and the vet staff for their love, care and concern for my kitty's health and safety. My animals will be life-long patients at Northstar.

I actually look forward to going to the vet (my cats don't, though!). Everyone is so nice, and they have been great about explaining issues and paths forward that fit my budget. Right before I moved to Columbus my elderly cat was having some serious health issues, and my previous vet led me to believe that she may have a form of cancer (among other possible illnesses) and gave me a choice of starting her on steroids or getting a very expensive and invasive diagnostic surgery. That vet seemed to really be pushing the surgery. After she had a pretty serious episode, we decided to start her on steroids immediately. I then move to Columbus the very next week and continued treatment at UAV. I was informed that they could have done a much less invasive and expensive procedure to diagnose her (but she was already on the steroids so it might have been pointless). They framed the issue in a way that made it seem far less grave, switched us to a better steroid, and today, 2 years later, my cat just got a perfect health check! Their honesty and sincere care for their patients, in addition to understanding financial limitations, makes them the best vet I have ever been to!

The staff is very friendly. When it comes to problem areas, like ours with his heart murmur, they give you plenty of information & a good recommendation. They are honest & direct about next steps. They also keep good record of all visits in order to track the possible seriousness of an “issue”. I’m not sure what other facility’s prices are like, but our annual visit was $190 (included an exam, poop sample & 1-2 shots).

I've been going to UA Vet Hospital since before Adam and JoAnna took over. When they took over I was apprehensive about it. They put me at ease right away. Dr Adam is such a genuine person who clearly cares about animals. In the later years of my cat Casper's life he helped make her life more comfortable. She had kidney failure at the end of her life and they helped me make the best decisions for her. Fast forward a few years and now we have 2 rescue dogs who both have some kind of allergy. I went here because of the other good reviews I've read about it, and they were right! Everyone who I talked to there seemed to genuinely love animals and want the best for my cat. They knew what they were talking about and were able to fix my kitty up quickly, and cost effectively for me. Plus, they even had my cat purring at one point, which I was not expecting! She doesn't always love being there and can get nervous, but everyone is always kind and patient. We have also used them for boarding and she does very well. We had an elderly cat who we brought when she began experiencing a decline in health. They took care of her with us for as long as we had her and helped us with her through end of life, as well. I trust them and highly recommend Northstar to everyone I know!

Vets and staff here go above and beyond for their patients (and their owners!). I brought in a recently rescued cat for her initial appointment, only to find out that she was pregnant! I almost had a heart attack, but everyone there were so kind and helped me get some tools on how to deal with a pregnant kitty and even put me in contact with potential foster families. Scheduling an appointment is easy, and I always feel that the techs and doctors do a very good job of explaining both potential problems and potential solutions if anything comes up. Upper Arlington Veterinary Hospital is by far and away the best veterinary clinic I have ever visited. I have been bringing my four legged family members here for 10+ years and would never even consider seeing another veterinary practice. Our pets have been treated at Upper Arlington Veterinary Hospital since Drs. Parson purchased the practice, and we have been extremely pleased with the doctors, staff and facilities. They doctors and the staff understand how important our pets are to us and treat us like family. (We currently have 2 dogs and 2 cats of varying ages.) All of our concerns are listened to and taken seriously. The professional experience the doctors have enable them to diagnose conditions and thoroughly explain treatment alternatives. Dr. Parson even took one of our dogs home overnight so she could assess the dog more thoroughly. The vet techs seem to thoroughly enjoy their work and are confident handling all types and personalities of animals. Reception staff is friendly and professional with scheduling and all facets of their job. I never write reviews, but Upper Arlington/North Star Animal Care have gone above and beyond within the past year to take care of my two cats. One was close to death last year from mal-management by a different veterinary clinic in the city, and Upper Arlington Veterinary Hospital worked us in same-day to make sure my cat got the treatment that he needed. The same cat ended up with a neuro problem about 6 months later, and Dr. Giatis never made me feel crazy when we were trying to find a diagnosis, and all of the tests kept coming back negative. She ultimately referred us to MedVet, which says a lot about how great the Upper Arlington/North Star vets are: They know how to recognize when something is out of their realm of knowledge, and they know when to refer. The staff and the vets at both Upper Arlington and North Star have always been incredibly kind, gracious, and patient with my ubiquitous questions, and I could not be more grateful to have my animals under the care of such wonderful vets!
