Rescued a puppy on Christmas eve and decided to take him here because I liked what I read about Dr. Nam Kim's holistic/integrative philosophy. Also, his reviews were some of the most solid I could find. Groot seemed like a healthy 7 month old pup from what I could tell and what the previous owner told me. Unfortunately he got extremely sick for unknown reasons a few days after I had him. His sickness was too much, too soon after having to euthanize my three year old lab who was in critical care for 6 days in September which left me with an astomonical hospital bill I'm still paying. I knew I could not afford Groots extensive sick care and asked the vet about euthanasia. Vet told me to bring Groot in regardless of my ability to pay and did a series of tests to determine the cause of illness. He gave me the choice of paying for that days tests along with continued testing for cause of sickness, in-house hospitalization, treatment and possible surgery or to surrender the puppy to his continued care and future adoption. Said Groot is such a young dog and didn't want to just euthanize him. That totally speaks to his character and the fact he's truly cares about animals not just making money. I walked away totally sad, but at peace with my decision to surrender Groot to Dr. Nam knowing they would try to do everything they could to save his young life. Groots life deserved a chance, he was an absolutely wonderful loving dog. Highly recommend and will be happy to go back if I one day down the road I decide to get another dog in the future! Great techs too!

Boss is the first dog for me in years and first ever for my partner Germaine. My sister (trainer from CA that found Boss for us at local Pits R Us rescue) looked in our area for a force free vet and interviewed the staff over anonymous calls. Our introductory appt was great and gave us the confidence our girl will be well cared for by the compassionate and very well qualified staff. Parking tip! There are spaces around the back so you may not need to park at a meter :-)

After 4 days of driving and 2 days in a new environment, my dog was having stomach issues. After checking reviews for local vets I chose Shaker Square Animal Hospital. They were absolutely fantastic! They called our home vet for my dog's records so they would have a thorough understanding of his issues. They also called a couple days later to check on him. I'm looking to move back to the area soon and I know who Scout's vet will be!

Everyone is friendly and professional, especially Dr. Kim., and the prices are reasonable . I was not unhappy with the other vet clinic I used, but Shaker Square is just a little closer and more convenient, I am so glad I gave them a try. My cat is not eating much and they spent so much time with me and my cat helping us through all the medications and tests she needed. I am sure they saved Natalie's life, at least for a while longer. The waiting rooms and examination room were clean and inviting. They have state of the art equipment. I would definitely recommend Shaker Square Animal Hospital !

Incredible. Doctor, staff, animal hangers-on: the whole lot are wonderful. This is my vet, and my favorite one in quite a while. My little Alberta (see pic) gets phenomenal care from persons who care, obviously, about her little kitty self. I couldn't be happier nor recommend SS Animal Hospital more highly.

The entire staff was SO good with my dog! Dr. Kim was kind, caring, informative, and took my concerns seriously. I was very overwhelmed dealing with a dog who had been sick since adopting her, and she is doing so much better with the medication regimen prescribed. AND she seemed so comfortable at the vets office. She was barely eating, but was happy and comfortable enough at the vet to eat some treats which was a big step for her. Could not more highly recommend this practice!

Dr. Kim and the rest of the staff were very helpful! The place was clean and quiet enough to not freak our skittish cat out too much. Parking in Shaker Square can be hard to get in front of the building but there’s a lot in back you can use.

We have been seeing Dr. Kim for a year now. He is amazing in all respects. His bedside manner and genuine friendliness and concern is impeccable. He has advanced knowledge, and he is highly skilled in multiple modalities. He is exactly what we needed and were sorely lacking here in Northeast Ohio. I have found over the years that there are a lot of veterinarians in this area who use the words integrative or holistic as selling points yet know little to nothing about Chiropractic, acupuncture or herbs, nor do they use laser therapy or food therapy. Dr. Kim has passed all of my test questions that i’ve ever asked him; moreover, he then proceeds to tell me something I don’t know, haven’t researched, or didn’t think about! This is what a veterinarian should be, and my family including my three dogs feel very lucky to have him.

About a month and a half ago, we were visiting family in Cleveland when we noticed our sweet boy Bruce--our precious Shepherd/Retriever mix :) -- was irritated by his ear. He was itching, it was inflamed, as well as warm to the touch. Historically he has been through many ear infections before this due to suffering severe allergies, so we had an idea of what was going on. We go to a holistic approached, integrative vet in Charlotte, NC where we currently live. We gave them a call and got some ideas for holistic treatment for in-home, but were advised to go to the vet locally if it did not improve in about a day. Since I am writing this review, it obviously did not improve with in-home holistic approaches this time. So I researched for vets in Cleveland, and to my absolute joy Shaker Square came up. AND I read it was an integrative medicine vet...yes...PERFECTION!!!!! I was so excited, not to mention it is is only a few blocks down from where our family lives. ALL communication with the staff was seamless, and they made obtaining records and information from Bruce's current vet smooth as can be. They were friendly, efficient, and as concerned about our B-Dog's comfort as we were. So an appoint was easily made. We arrived for our appointment time to a clean environment (with a good smell--you know some vets do not accomplish this) with two ladies welcoming us at the front desk. There is coffee and tea for your enjoyment, and plentiful seating to wait until the appointments start. My pup is pretty comfortable in new environments, but you can tell when he is REALLY at ease, and he was. Just like he is at his home vet. Dr. Kim is amazing!! I have to brag a lot here..... I mean... he makes his own treats for the pups here--both dried and frozen. He is brilliant. Dr. Kim is an honest example of holistic and mindful. He is efficient in his work and deductive reasoning, he communicates his thoughts and treatment plans, and he is patient to answer any and all questions. He gave love and attention to Bruce, and was patient when Bruce thought listening to heart tones was play time (he thinks everything is a game, honestly). He swabbed B's ear and ran thorough testing. Indeed, Bruce did have an ear infection, and a fairly severe one at that. Bruce had a lot going on in his ear and we all agreed medicine was the best way to go. Bruce was given an ear cleanser and medication. He used his (again HOMEMADE by his own hands) frozen slurpie to distract Bruce as he showed us the best way to clean and medicate the ear due to B being VERY irritated when someone gets close to his ears. It worked like a charm and he sent the frozen slurpie home with us to use when we treated in-home. I could go on and on, but 100%, come here. Dr. Kim is amazing, the environment is great, and I am SO grateful to have a place to be comfortable going when visiting Cleveland, which we do often. And Bruce 99% of the time travels with us. I trust them here like I trust our home vet, and that says a lot--Bruce is our #1 and we never go anywhere for him without initially vetting thoroughly. So, COME HERE for your vet needs--both traditional and holistic (aka: treatment and preventative)!!!
