It took me a few days to process through this situation. The lack of sensitivity was just mind blowing as I was leaving the vet clinc and getting my bill statement the lady said well now we are done with you, she clearly knows my dog is dieing. I turned around and looked at her and said yah well I am done with you , the only reason why this place is open is because there is no other choice in Williston, please please please Reconsider taking your fur babies Here there life may depend on it .

Dr. Folden and all of the staff here treated me and my fur Baby Maxwell with kindness, understanding, and just exceptional care!! I was a brand new client that was worked in on an emergency case in less than 15 min. Dr. Folden saved my Maxwell he is a 10 yearold Bostan Terrier who ended up having a hernia strangulated and 8in of intestines dying on the outside of the abdominal wall. Dr. Folden left it up to me for surgery which we had no clue if that would even work but the alternative was Max being put down.... LOOK PEOPLE WESTERN VETERINARY IS THE ONLY PLACE I WILL EVER TAKE MY FUR BABIES TOO.. WE PICKED MAXIMUM UP TODAY TO COME HOME AND EVERY TIME I LOOK AT HIM AND CRY BECAUSE IF IT WASNT FOR WESTERN VETERINARY MY MAXWELL WOULD BE DEAD!!!!

I have been going to Western Veterinary Clinic for over the past 13 years when I have lived here in Williston and I have also used various other veterinary clinics when living in other locations. Western Veterinary Clinic is by far the best place to take your pet. The staff is warm, friendly and welcoming, the clinic itself it top of the art and super clean and the veterinarians are very compassionate and loving towards your pet; they treat them as if they are theirs. As well, the veterinarians are very knowledgeable in their field. I would highly recommend Western Veterinary Clinic to any and all!

My kitten tore part of her eye lid going under the couch (there was a staple hanging that we were unaware of). I called after hours and they did such a great job walking me through and making sure she was going to be alright. Her eye now has 2 or 3 stitches that will be taken out and her eye looks normal! My son and daughter-in-law rescued a prairie dog that had been shot. My daughter-in-law is an animal lover and nursed it back to health. It did not have use of it’s back legs so they couldn’t let it go. It was able to get around and would snuggle up to them and was very happy to be a part of the family. They took it to western vet to see if it needed any shots etc, being that they have 3 children. They took it from her and put him down and told her she couldn’t keep him!! That was it! I thought animal owners have a right to choose euthanasia!!! Broken hearts in their family!

No business is perfect however Western Veterinary Clinic is close. My family has been using this clinic since the late 1970s; they were good then and have just gotten better over the years. The doctors are a nice combination of seasoned and experienced people balanced with people who have a fresh education and "new eyes". It's the best of both worlds, working as a team. I can't imagine the stress of being a vet. Diagnosing someone of different species who can't tell you how they feel, handling emergencies, and relying on animal owners for info (face it Folks, we owners are sometimes not easy to deal with).... Yet in my experience, everyone currently at Western Vet Clinic (doctors AND support staff) has gracefully handled these situations using the best of their talents combined with ethics. The new addition to the building provides a comfortable and functional lobby as well as new exam rooms. The place is clean. I have been in the back part the building on occasion and it is clean back there too. Is Western Vet Clinic perfect? No, because it is run by people and people are not perfect. However these people smart, compassionate, talented and ethical people and that is about as perfect as you can get. I trust Western Vet with our beloved cats, dogs, horses, chickens, pigs, goats and sheep.

My daughter and family came upon an injured prairie dog that had been shot. The level of compassion, time and concern they displayed to this "exotic" animal was undeniably. Its unfortunate that when she made an appointment to have him checked out..that your clinic could not match the same compassion and instead put him down. Shame on you!

There is a vet tech there and I dont know her name but she was very caring. My german shepherd broke her hip one month and the next month my daushund passed away righy after my grandma passed. She was so nice and understanding. She let me know what options to take for my dogs passing and made the very, very hard process easy and quick. The annuals are a little high but good vet all the same. They also chipped my dogs for me and it was very quick and my dogs didnt seem to notice.

Brought my best friend in after he woke up one morning and one of his legs didn't work! I though it was asleep but he just kept limping after a half hour. My boyfriend called Western Vet (because I was hysterical) and they said to bring him in. After driving a half hour to get there they got him right in. I mean RIGHT in. We waited maybe two minutes. The vet (Dr. Sorenson) was incredibly nice, took him right to doing X-rays after she looked at him, and we found out what was wrong almost immediately. Some arthritis caused a pinched nerve. Anyway, he had to stay the night and Dr. Sorenson called me early the next morning and said he could come home. The vet called, not the people at the front desk, not an assistant. She did herself. I don't know if that's standard practice or not, but I was impressed because it seems like they can get pretty busy. Definitely using Dr. Sorenson and Western Vet every time! -Also thought it was incredibly affordable. For an emergency visit, overnight stay, multiple X-Rays, and a month worth of two medications it was less than $240.

Everyone at Western Vet is kind, professional and thorough -- from the front office staff to the vet techs and vets. The vets make personal calls to answer your questions. The front office staff works hard to accommodate your schedule. This clinic is wonderful. It's not hard to see that they truly care.

I am very disappointed with negligence of this clinic. I took my puppy there multiple times over the last few months. I asked two different vets at this clinic to please check him for Entropion, as one of his siblings had it and was treated. Both vets very quickly examined him and said I had nothing to worry about. Unsatisfied, I took him to a different vet, who confirmed he does have Entropion. This requires a minor surgery to eliminate damage to his eye. Since the vets at Western dismissed the issue, he has been at risk of damage to his eye for the last 5 months. I understand that they are always busy but that does not excuse them from spending the necessary time it takes to evaluate each animal thoroughly. I recommend that those in the area find another vet outside this clinic.

The staff at western vet is exceptional. Doctor Phillipi is our main cat doctor. She caught my cat Butter's rare gum disease in time for us to treat it and cure him of it. She did everything she could to make my cat Frosty comfortable in her final days and then she was there personally when it was time to say goodbye to Frosty. Butters has been in countless times with other odd ailments. Then we trusted western vet with our bunnies. They have one very who specializes in rabbits and she was great with their neutering and helping us figure out one of my bunnies issues with balding. Western very has been our saying grace the last 6 years we've lived in the area.

I would not recommend this facility for any type of animal care. I cant believe that they would euthanize an animal that was just going in for a check up. The biggest problem was it was in front of the children; and handing the box over like a bag of McDonalds fries with no sign of compassion or distress in their eyes! it just makes me sick! Animals are not introduced into our lives as something to enjoy and just to have company around, they become more than that they become family! We have 6 dogs and they take care of them all! Saved a stray kitten my freind found from dying, that was hit by a truck and left for dead. He has one less leg but he is happy and healthy that we have now. Two of our dogs had passed away from old age and they were so sweet to us and offer cremation boxes that of course we got at a reasonable price . These people there truly care about my animals. We have been going to this place for 6 years and I wouldnt go any where else Thank you all at Western Veternary Clinic !

When our dog was diagnosed with DCM, Dr. Garbel was very patient and took his time running tests, and researching treatment options. He was wonderful in working with us to find the most affordable medication for him and treated him very kindly. When we have had an emergency they have worked to get us seen without and appointment. Dr. Philippi was amazing with our oldest Dane when he had bronchitis, running tests and alleviating any fears or concerns we may have had. They are always super patient with our animals giving them time to relax when doing tests and x-rays when our last vet would just sedate them all the time. We love the staff at Western Veterinary Clinic!

there’s one doctor here that i love. Dr. philipi. she is the only one who believed in my dog who has aggression issues. she was soft and sweet with him. he eventually got so aggressive that he had to be put to sleep. i brought him back on a saturday and got dr. grebel or something like that. he was very very rough with my boy. offered no comfort for him. very straight to the point and rude. he was so rough with the euthanasia that for almost 20 minutes after he passed, i was holding a towel to his leg because it was gushing blood. i left the office covered in my service dogs blood. that was not how i wanted my babies last moments to go. he deserved so much better. if you can, go to dr. philipi. she is amazing.

Do not go, My wife and kids had found a prarie dog that had been shot with pellet gun. They nursed it back to health. He became one of the family. He was extremely friendly and only wanted to be around people. My wife set up appointment here told them about the prarie dog and said they wanted to see what we would need to do to safely have him. When she took him into vet they took him away, said she could not have him, then put him down then charged us for the whole ordeal. My kids where all with him at vet. Who does that. At least have the decency to tell someone over the phone than setting a trap. POS!!!

Dr. Lee Garbel was the absolute most uncaring vet I've ever come across. I brought my dog in for travel papers for a drive through Canada. He argued about my need for them, despite my having needed them in the past and the requirement on the border patrols website. I asked for a refill of an anxiety med my dog has had in the past, instead he gave me ACE, which is outdated and prone to side effects. He signed my dogs travel papers without even so much as touching the dog. He was uncaring, rude, abrupt, and should not be in veterinary medicine. I'll never bring my dog back there. The vet tech and receptionist were both very friendly though.

My 15 yr old son brought our dog in for "an exam" after a seizure. Dr Garbel walked in said I heard your dog had a seizure. Said nothing else, stuck a thermometer in our dogs butt and then took blood. Ran labs wo informed consent from an adult and charged extra for immunizations that were not needed. Not at any point in time did he discuss a course of treatment or discuss costs. Tried pushing meds for an isolated incident. 20 minutes later I had a nearly $200 vet bill.

The doctors out there are great, only had one bad experience, not with the care given my pet, but the bedside manner of the doctor. The staff are friendly, and love animals. Their new remodel is going to make going there much better. The place is clean, considering they deal with animals, so you may get a little pet hair on you if you visit, but you knew that going in right. This is the place to take your pets for their health needs in Williston.

This place is terrible. Do not bring your dogs here, especially if you are used to a good veterinary clinic, ie. one in another state. We brought our dog in for one specific vaccination, told the front desk staff this as well as the owner of the clinic who happened to be our vet for that appointment. He then went into the back, came back in and gave our dog two shots. When we got the bill it said our dog was given two vaccines, the one we told them he needed and then one the vet apparently just felt like giving him. He was not due for this other vaccination for another year as he was current on it. The vet has no answer for why he did this other than he just "assumed" it was needed, even though we told him which one was needed. He did not ask our permission to give the other one nor mention the other one to us at all. This place is a joke.

Called this clinic because we had an emergency with our horse and the vet gave the shot the wrong way, hit an artery, and caused our horse to seize and he threw his hands in the air and walked away. He did not issue the epinephrine to pull the horse out of the seizure he did absolutely nothing. Our horse almost died. What a horrible experience don't take your animals here unless you want them to die, basically. I absolutely can't believe this happened.

Worst vet experience i have ever had. In 64 years i have never HAD to walk out on a veterinary service until now. My dog was used carelessly and i was used unprofessional and RUDELY. Unkind. My poor girl was so ill and could barely stand on her own. The vet i was suppose to see was not available. The vet i saw for only 5 or 6 minutes did not know anything about my dog. They isisted i was there for euthinasia. I was there to see if anything could be done for her post surgery weakness.They put us on the floor of an unheatet room in January. Before we left, we occupied the floor of that room 12-15 minutes, waiting for nothing. The vet came in a second time and without a word forcefully pulled my dog by the collar to stand up. When asked percisely what he thought he was doing he snapped at me , BLOODWORK. When i said i was accompanying her he was beligerant saying no, you are absolutely not. We left. I have a wonderful vet not anything like this Smith vet. When i told them what happened to my very sick girl, my vet was appauled. Turns out ths Smith charactwr is an owner. Had the nerve to try and charge us 312 dollars. I paid the blood draw part , but they refused to pass the information over to my vet. I refused and always will, the room and vet fee. They should get a bill from my girl and i for putting up with unprofessional conduct. In speaking of this incident to many others in this area i find it comes has no surprise. There are,other stories here something like mine. They should be ashamed. I have had some awesome vets in my life for my pets. If you love your pet don't go here.

Love this vet clinic! The best vet there is Dr. Folden (formerly known as Dr. Miller). She is the best. I have two cats, and can tell she loves animals. She has always taken great care of both my fur babies. One of my cat’s had a tumor on one of his toes, and she reassured me he would be fine. He stayed he night and had surgery. She personally brought him out to me the next morning. An assistant didn’t, but she herself did. She is amazing. I will only bring my fur babies here.

Ladies at the front desk are very helpful even though they are busy, any doctor you get knows what they are doing and truly loves animals and I've always had good service! All around a bad experience with the western vet! I spent around $1500 on my dog. He had diarrhea and was losing weight. Turns out he ate rocks. They sent him home and said they would pass. A week later he wasn't any better. Took him back in and they had to do a surgery to remove them. They sent him home and said he would be fine. The bill was paid. A few days later still no change, still had diarrhea and was losing weight. Took him back during business hours and they billed me a $100 daytime emergency fee just to see him! They supposedly ran a bunch of tests but couldn't find anything wrong with him. I've been billed for over $1000 so far again and still have no answers. The receptionist there was so rude when my wife was leaving after visiting our fur baby! She made the comment that we have racked up a big bill and she wanted payment. Does she not realize that she just got almost $1500 just 3 days before?!? And in 3 days they came up with over a grand in bills again yet my dog is still no better?!? They cant even tell me what the problem is after all this money and all the time they have ZERO answers!!! The vet was kind enough, the receptionist however was rude and has no compassion towards peoples situations. Her rude attitude changed the way I look at the western clinic! Uncalled for...have a heart or go work somewhere else!!! You have cost this clinic business with your sour hateful attitude! Update: had to put my dog down since they cant tell me what's wrong with him and he has lost so much weight his body was giving up and it was too late to try anything else. I lost my best friend today. A person would expect after spending around $2500 to get at least an answer to the reason my buddy was getting so sick. Took him to a different vet to send him to heaven since I had such bad experiences here and they told me just by looking at his skin and eye color that he was most likely losing blood internally. They gave me answers and I didnt even ask a question, they showed compassion, they understood that to me he was more than just an animal and that he was part of my family. They cared about not only my furry friend but also me as a customer. Take note western vet...kindness and compassion goes a long way. Maybe pass that along to the rude excuse of a lady sitting at the front counter! She is the first and last person people deal with when visiting your clinic...she shapes the way people view your business!

We took our kitten there to get his shots, walked into the lobby and it was dirty and smelt bad. We went into one of the rooms until the vet got off lunch. The room was very dirty, we had to ask for them to wipe off the table. The lady was rude and dirty herself. We were not pleased at all. Definitely going back to High Plains Vet in Sidney

The care we have received for our Princess has always been top notch, even with her being a pit bull and Williston having a ban on Pits. I was afraid that we would be judged for our choice of breed, however she is cared for and welcomed just as every other dog, cat, and animal is that comes to the clinic. Getting appointments is simple through the use of the app associated with the clinic and it keeps all of her records up to date at my fingertips as well. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with Princess, she is part of our family and treated like such every time we visit the veterinarian office.

They have a very helpful app to schedule appointments and keep track of dogs records, and medications. Their hours are convenient, and their building is big and spacious and we are very happy with this vet.

Took my kitten in knowing she was sick. 5 minutes into the examination he claimed he, 'felt a lump in either her intestines or lymph nodes' and implied it could possibly be Feline Lymphoma. He ran a blood test and an x-ray, which is not the problem, it's that they came back negative and the problem was a bacterial infection! Why would you LEAD with Lymphoma? Unprofessional.

Super amazing people and facility. People were incredibly sweet, attentive, and professional, from the front desk all the way to the Vet Technicians and the Veterinarian himself. Price was incredibly reasonable, as u can tell they aren't in it to rob people, but rather make a living doing something they are passionate about. Totally worth the over 3 hour round trip.
