This place is great. I take my cat here and he’s a bit nasty, but they handled it wonderfully and made sure the little guy was taken care of. It’s great to know even if he gets upset at the vet he’ll always have medical care.

Dr. Pinkerton and his staff were more than accommodating when my cat had to be seen (twice) on Christmas Day. No only was he willing to meet me there as soon as possible, he also offered to pick myself and my cat up when my car wouldn’t start. He was also very informative when explaining to me what was wrong and how to monitor for any future recurances and steps to take for preventative measures. Although my cat is still there recovering, I’m so happy and thankful for all they have done for him so far.

Warning to all pet owners! Stay away from Pinkerton animal hospital! I went in for a routine procedure and it ended horribly. I called the emergency vet line and was told it wasn’t an emergency. I took him in and was told it was an insect bite/allergic reaction. They told me to call if the swelling didn’t go down. It NEVER went down. I was forced to call because my dog started hemorrhaging and I didn’t have a choice. The vet who I won’t name said he didn’t think it was an emergency. He wanted me to pick him up and bring him to the office because they don’t do house visits. He told me eventually the bleeding will stop and when it does just monitor him and bring him in when they open. It was 200am in the morning and I couldn’t get the bleeding under control. My dog 88 pounds and he was bleeding profusely. Luckily my friend whose a nurse walked me through everything and I was able to get him stable. This has been the worst experience of my life and the most traumatic to say the least.

When I called this vet office, I didn’t realize that they were closed. After hearing the answering machine message that said due to high demand, they couldn’t see emergency patients that were not their clients which is understandable. Being from out of town, I took my shot and just hoped for the best. I called the emergency hotline and initially just hoped for a doctor to answer and possibly give recommendations on where I can take my dog to be seen or to give me treatment advice. I don’t remember the doctors name that answered my phone call but I would just like to say thank you. He gave me a number which I could send him a picture of my dogs open wound near his eye. After seeing the picture, the doctor called me back and told me what to do and I am very grateful. The doctor assured me that my dogs wound will heal within a week to week and a half at most.

First impression is everything. The person who answered the phone had very rude phone etiquette. 2nd person who put me off hold wasn’t very apologetic either. Everyone knows the front desk agents are the faces to the business and if things aren’t handled right everything else goes wrong. You just lost a customer.

A long parade of my dogs and cats (foster and personal pets) have been seen at Pinkerton exclusively since 1995. I cannot hope for better care for my critters. They are always professional, friendly, and incredibly empathetic. Also add patient and caring, even in the middle of the night, and I have had more than a few emergency visits after hours. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I won’t ever return here or recommend anyone to this vet. My dog was having problems and losing weight so he needed to be seen. I was told everything was okay it was just from the tick bite. I drove 2 hours to Watford City to get my dog looked at because I knew something was wrong. They did full blood work, an ultrasound and more. My dog was diagnosed with PROSTATE CANCER!

We are so thankful for Dr. Solemsaas and his care for ours cats. He has been kind and honest with us through everything. Not only was he willing to try different things, listen to us, and help us through. He also understands the stress our cat goes through and willing to talk with us on the phone as he knows their care more personally. Even a year ago, when we had to put our 18 year old cat down, they were kind and honest. Willing to go out of their way to try other items; but, honest in saying that he was dying. We received a sympathy card in the mail. They are very busy and at times can be hard to get in; but, will try their best. There are not enough vets in town and they do work hard. We appreciate them.

We first went to Pinkerton when our 12yr old required cancer surgery that her routine care clinic could not perform. They again took care of her at 17yrs old for her final visit. A few years later our cat suddenly lost her vision and they started treating her and got us to a specialist. A few more years is now - a stray that won't leave and they got her right in to get her tummy/bowels sorted... in a few weeks, shots and spay time. Excellent service that kept our fur babies around far longer than we anticipated them to live and helped them move on peacefully.

I highly recommend Pinkerton Animal Hospital in Minot. We had two stray cats (Rocket & Amber) that needed to be fixed and they were able to fit them in for surgery yesterday which was within 2 business days of my call. Else we would have had to wait weeks for our local vet. They also recommended/allowed early pick up so we would beat the 10-14 inche's of snow that started coming yesterday! Our dog hurt her leg badly on a Saturday. We were afraid she might have broken it. We called the emergency line and Dr Pinkerton met us at the office 15 minutes later. After a complete check she had strained a muscle and nerve reflexes were delayed. Dr. Pinkerton took time with Bella, explained everything to us including the medication we had to give her and recovery time. He also told us we could call him over the weekend should any additional questions come up. Outstanding provider, and amazing customer service. I recently took my one year old mix to Pinkerton because of an ear infection. After waiting about 30 minutes we were brought into the room where we met a male vet ( I forget his name.) We explained that our dog has had rough vets in the past and that she is very nervous being in the vet's office. He said that he understood and went directly to get a muzzle. This of course raised her anxiety and caused her to stiffen up and being to wine loudly. He decided that he didn't like this and had a vet tech come in to try to hold her. I explained that it would help the situation and her if I could hold her down so that she felt a little more comfortable. He objected and after fighting with her for about 15 seconds decided to take her in back where I heard her screaming and she came back with bloodshot eyes and had wet herself she was so nervous. After all of this he states that she is a mean dog and to never come back. I've never been so mad that I peed myself? She's a great dog and has never shown any aggression towards adults or children. I do no think that anyone who cares about their pets should bring them to this place. Unfortunately, this is Minot and they are the only one open.

I can’t speak highly enough about this animal hospital. They are friendly, professional, and get to the point of what really matters; helping your pet out. My cat was prescribed the wrong treatment at another clinic (yikes!), but one visit from Pinkerton and things were set right. My cat is happy, healthy, and I’m satisfied after they made time to give my pet what she really needed. Thanks for making a nervous pet parent feel at ease with going through with a first operation, Pinkerton (and for providing great service at a cost I was more than pleased about)!!! I recommend this clinic to everyone, even though it is a little further out for me and others to reach, as we are from another city.

All of our animals go there. During a very overwhelming time as my dog had a stomache bug and my cat developed a UTI in the same day!!!! We called urgent care and was seen within 30 mins! Kept my furbaby for a couple of nights and hes good as new! Friendly staff and knowledgable. We have never had to wait more than a week for an appointment which is amazing! Most of all I love the way they give shots! They will distract the dog with a treat and give the shot then give them another treat. My dog loved it!

I have been going to Pinkerton for years my animals have always been treated well. I see Dr Thunshell and Dr Pinkerton. I had a Siberian husky that would scream cause he was scared of the vet and other animals. They would have to room us right away and had no problems doing so. When I had to put him down because of lepto Dr Thunshell did everything he could to save him but couldn't and he helped us make the decision and felt very sad for us. They are very professional and will help you in anyway they can.

Pinkerton sent me a survey. I sent it back with an honest review of how some of the staff and Dr Thunshelle were condescending at times. They cancelled my account shortly afterwards. Too make things worse, they shared my comment with my husband, who already knew what my opinion was. He also pulled his dog from this place. Way to address the problem Pinkerton. And good riddance. Update, Dr Thunshelle did not inform me of chronic waste syndrome after my little girl was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Converted her to raw feeding after 3 months after she lost 6 lbs in 3 months. Her average weight was 16 lbs. Thunshelle is convinced with no evidence that raw feeding causes salmonella. Be aware that more processed dog foods cause salmonella and the evidence is everywhere. Another instance is I had to take my dog for emergency care. There was 1 vet , 1 tech, and 1 blood test, My pup had a seizure and nothing was found. Grossly overcharged ,over 400 dollars.

UPDATE: Took our new kitty to get spayed. The vet staff was awesome. They were kind and gentle. They let me bring in both cats to get them both updated for shots at once. They sent us text through out the day updating us about how our new kitty's recovery from surgery was going, and we were able to take the spayed kitty home that night. Additionally, they were thorough with the spaying process from start to finish.

These guys only care about the all mighty $buck. Animals are very precious creatures, and to know that my animal could be cured of its disease that put it in a constant pain yet I don’t have the 300$ a month these crooks charge when on 1-800- pet -meds I can get it for around 80$ which is still a burden, but 300$ or else my poor boy is in constant pain! I don’t see how these guys sleep at night? I’m boycotting Pinkerton!!! There are at least 2 others in town who do a better job and actually give a damn : west oaks, and kore or core animal clinics! Please help me in the boycott of vets who don’t care!! Trust me if West Oaks, or Core was this way I would call for a boycott on them too!! Good luck everybody, and LOVE on those pets!

The veterinary care at Pinkerton’s is always exceptional. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, prices are reasonable and the facility is always clean and organized. Our 2 dogs have been ‘patients’ there for 6 years, and have always received excellent treatment. And when I have a question or problem, a doc always calls and gives me honest, helpful advice. Our dog recently had puppies and from prenatal care to post delivery support the staff at Pinkerton Animal Hospital went above and beyond! Because of their kindness, care and support we have two healthy puppies! Dr Enga, Dr Vincent and Dr Thunshelle worked with us through a challenging pregnancy and delivery. They supported us with patience and guidance through many phone calls when one puppy was looking like she may not make it and because of their support I feel the puppies are both well and healthy today! Support staff also took 25 minutes out of a Saturday to talk with me about her experiences with “preemie” puppies which gave me hope and a sense of normalacy for what we were experiencing. I cannot thank the staff enough!

Screwed up barium test that led my dog having to you to minnesota for extensive surgery.. costs us thousands of dollars because they missed something on the xray. West oaks caught it right away. Learned more from them in 20 minutes that 3 days at pinkerton. Terrible place to bring your pet

I will not be taking my pets to this place again. The front desk staff was not very friendly or helpful. We got to the appointment 5 minutes early and had to wait 20 minutes to be seen. The vet was friendly and nice but did not do much examination of my pets. They were not weighed, ears not checked, etc and all she did was give my 2 cats vaccinations. The visit was maybe 10-15 minutes tops, and the price was $150. I've been to other veterinarians before, but Pinkerton's facility seemed dirty, run down, and unorganized. I was not impressed at all and feel that I wasted my time, money, and the comfort of my pets bringing them to this establishment. I would recommend a smaller business that will have the time to actually care for your pet.

We were in town for an appointment and found our dog had a flare up of a previous issue. The vet was able to get us right in. He was very good with the dog and also started treatment and explained why this treatment had better results than the type of treatment our dog had previously gotten. It has been over a year, he is doing great and has had no further flare ups.

Pinkerton has been our vet clinic for more than 20 years and the quality of care and compassion for our fur babies is the reason. We have 2 large dogs and 3 cats...all rescues, however, they are our fur family so their care is as important as our own! Pinkerton knows this and provides this kind of personal service, more than once they have cried with us as we had to put a fur baby to sleep or met us in the middle of the night or on a weekend for an emergency....for that, we are grateful!! The medical staff is tremendous and their personal interest and care is the most important part of this equation. Thank you!! Note: Don't be scared away by the front desk staff, the more recent additions are not always the friendliest, not that way in the past so needs some work guys!!

I have been using this vet clinic for 17+ years. I have run across a few of the vets I don't care for but I love love love Dr Thunshell. He has been so amazing with all my animals, and has helped me through saying goodbye to a few also. The front office staff are always friendly and helpful.

The best place to take your four legend family members. I'm sure the treat all animals that come through the doors . also they have 24 hour emergency services. Great staff very helpful and careing a vast amount of knowledge and the skill to handle the situation. My cat was there 3 days and the bill was a lot less than I expected. Had to take our pet in for urgent care in June 2019. They diagnosed the problem quickly and kept our pet in the hospital for 3 1/2 days for supportive care. Our pet is now home and healthy. They are quite busy and you need to plan ahead for regular vet care appointments; sometimes a month or more. Great support staff. Keep up the great work.

Call to ask about a soon appointment cause my dog has some sort of sore on his elbow which made him lose fur in that area, same looking thing on his chin and they both keep bleeding and look earitated and something on his paw and I keep getting told it’s nothing, And pointless to make an appointment. I have a 13 year old cat, and a 6 month old kitten, needless to say I have a lot of vet visits. My older cat was not eating and was borderline in liver failure, and he was seen an hour after I called. After I left, he was back to eating and drinking and I have no doubt Dr. Vincent saved his life. I brought my kitten in today due to loose bowels, and again was seen 2 hours after I called. I saw a different vet but she was just as wonderful and compassionate. All of the vets I have seen here are very compassionate, and they always try a course of action that is both less traumatizing to the cat and more cost efficient for me and recommend follow ups if further testing is needed. They care about the animals and are not just trying to make more money, and that is why I will never go anywhere else. The vet technicians and receptionists are always professional and kind and every time I call or come in I am treated with the utmost respect. My older cat is alive and well thanks to Dr. Vincent and my kitten is growing up healthy. Cannot speak my praises enough, I am truly grateful.

They are definitely not good in an emergency situation and only care about the money. I brought my dog in because he was lethargic and not eating. The vet felt his stomach and he whimpered but she said he was just being silly. Gave him a shot and sent him home. I took him back 2 days later and They took x-rays of only his bottom half. I paid $150 for x rays for them to only look at his bottom half and then they also did a barium test to see if there was anything obstructing and since it was 5:30 closing time and it all left his stomach, but not his body yet she said he was fine and if he was still having problems then bring him in after the weekend. I brought him to a different vet and they found so many things wrong and told me he would not have lived another day. They referred me to the u of m because it was a major surgery that they could not do here and the doctors at the u of m told me the same thing. Definitely would not reccomend going to Pinkerton for an emergency. The only thing that they want from you is your money. They definitely don’t “care” like they say they do.

These guys told me my dog was okay and had a simple flu bug.. after paying the $85 and feeling better we left. The next day my baby was dead. I feel Pinkerton is like a drive through.. they want u to come, give your money to them, they rush you through, and send u in ur way. If u live ur pets please take them to a different vet. Minot does have 3-4 or maybe more and it seems they ALL care way more about animals than Pinkerton. Good luck y’all and remember animals don’t have a voice, so we need to be that voice.. Love your pets!!!!! God gave them to us as a gift, and it truly breaks my heart when places like this extort us who love our animals.. also go to 1-800-Pet-meds, for your pets meds!! They are about 1/3 the price these crooks charge!!!! I will say that girl at the front with all the tats is gorgeous, and honestly she is the ONLY reason I took my dog to Pinkerton! I hope she relocates to West Oakes so I can see her there ha
