The Vet that I was forced to see at Pinehurst did not seem very confident in the answers in which she was giving - my options were to spend between another 500-2500 and still "maybe" not be any further in the process. But in the mean time we could do a few other things "might help" - none of which when asked could be explained how it would help the situation. I was angry and left - called Commerce location because that is usually where i go - asked if another dr could look at the x-ray was told absolutely not - so I guess Missouri Valley would rather me go to a whole different Vet clinic....very very disappointing since i have been coming to them for almost two decades between different animals and have always recommended - this will never be done again....in fact i will spread the word - not at all the place to go -2nd opinion a different vet resulted in labs were bad and mass was cancer
I’ve been taking my pets here for over a decade and love the care and attention they give. My little Cleo will be 10 years old this year and it is thanks to Pinehurst!
Nice staff, willing to see exotic pets.
Always helpful
I love this place. The care for your animals and provide genuine service. They are understanding and just like family. This is the only place I take my dog.
The vet was great with my dog Khole. The Vet was understanding and patient with my dog. Made sure I understood the best way to give medicine to my dog and when to give it.
My experience with this place is money money money. The receptionist is the rudest person ever. They seemed more focused on padding the bill and less on good pet care. Never again. If you are looking for quality affordable pet care keep looking.
Great vet. Have been taking our old dog for years. Am going to continue taking him and the new pup.
I've had sugar gliders for the last 2 years and as you can imagine, it's fairly difficult to find a vet that knows anything about them, let alone actually care for them. I found both a knowledgeable and caring vet here! My poor girl had issues with her tail due to Pocket Pets selling us an unsafe wheel for her to run in. She broke it and had to have it amputated. The vets were very helpful and patient with her stitches (sugar gliders are prone to self mutilation and amazing acrobatic feats when they try to get their e-collar off!). Then when we got more sugar gliders, one didn't like her tail (it was fully healed) and she had to have a second amputation to my absolute horror (don't worry, the bad glider was re-homed and has been problem free ever since.) Now my girl has had 0 issues with her little tail. The vet was very helpful when it came to giving her the less-than-savory medications and was available to give me answers to all my questions. Now I have a puppy in addition to my sugar gliders and I am once again thrilled by the fantastic care and service here.
Vet was excellent to work with when a family pet was injured, last minute appt, and they got us in. Starlight, Star, is doing wonderfully.
Looking around town for a vet to get a rabies update for my dog. I chose Pinehurst for their location. Upon calling, the receptionist was ok, though in an unsavory mood from the beginning. Other than that, I had no problem with the staff. I discovered my dog also had an ear infection, which I never had to deal with before, but they somewhat explained how to take care of it. When I received the bill, my expectation was approx. $50-60, after the rabies shots, exam, and antibiotics. Nope! Twice that, where I was charged $35 for general examination, $20 for "cocci bacteria in right ear" and $16 for ear cleaning! I'm from a small town, and I have never experienced such hidden costs. I understand the theory behind it, but for double dipping the charges like that, I definitely will NOT be going back. I'd rather drive half an hour to a small town vet.
Id give them a zero if i could, rude receptionist, awful care, one vet is AWFUL with pets and not knowledgeable. Worst care ever! NEVER go here
I finally found a place that takes exotics in North Dakota. Thank you guys for remembering the people that have odd pets...
Love this vet clinic...I trust them with my pets and my pets are family.
Great people and service
Everyone was very nice.
Doctor Viki has seen us thru good news and bad for our pets. Her expertise is unmatched, she has identified things that other veterinarians have missed. I get a real sense that they care about my pets when I bring them in. And thats what stands out most for me.
Very good veterinary care
We bring all of our pets here. They take awesome care of our fur babies.
Adalines first trip to the park with her Cousin.
They do a great job.
Missouri Valley (Pinehurst) was fantastic! I just moved back to Bismarck and my cat has been sick and I was waiting for test results from my vet back home and hadn’t gotten set up with a vet yet. My cat was getting worse though and it was breaking my heart to see him in such condition. I finally received results from my vet and recommendations and treatment and talked to Missouri Vet too to see what they would say. Ultimately, the best choice was to put him down, he wasn’t going to get better and was going to suffer. They walked me through the whole process, explained everything in detail and were kind and patient with me. They sent me paw prints of my cats paws after he was gone, it was so thoughtful!! How they cared for me can only go to show how they go for pets! I have found my vet for my dog now! Thank you!
Had an awesome experience when I brought my cat in but didn’t seem to get the same experience for my dog. Will being going to a different vet
So far a great experience..just had to leave my
I've had 2 good experiences here, and plan to bring the rest of my pets here for veterinary care. The facility is nice. They went over all costs with me before the surgery and there were no surprises on the bill. They did thorough check outs both visits. They even made a makeshift cone for my chinchilla after his neuter. It didn't last very long but that gesture showed me they cared about my pet.
Professional
They were very rude to me- I've been going there for about 7 months and they haven't even acknowledged me-
My pups love the staff at Pinehurst
I can not say enough about how great and helpful they were. Thank You for help with Teka.
We had our cats declawed and the Vets were awesome and the cost was very reasonable. They did not even charge us for extra day of care when one cat was not ready to go home.
Fair, and knowledgeable caring professionals
Outstanding vet. Great service, great care!
Always take great care of my fur babies and everyone is always very friendly.
we took my dog there cause she got ran over and he said the estimated cost for the surgery was $2500 and when we picked my dog up a couple days later the bill was 3900 for surgery along with a bunch of added on charges
The vets are very nice and make the visit better for my dogs
Very friendly staff. Great service.
After experiences with two other vets, Missouri valley vet is the most affordable.
Dr. Vicki Riveland is a great veterinarian. She has taken care of two of our dogs, Molly and Ivy over the past 4 years. Molly was 13 years old a few years ago and eventually had to be put to sleep. Dr. Vicki was very compassionate through the whole process and helped us get through the decision making to ease our pain and stress. It's so hard to know when to let go of an animal that has loved you unconditionally for 13 years . Our younger dog gets regular visits and it's always obvious that Dr. Vicki loves to take care of animals and is very kind and understanding with the owners as well. My wife and I have both had consistent and positive experiences every time we go to Pinehurst Veterinary Hospital. Thank you, Dr. Vicki!
My husband and I have two dogs and have had continual problems with Pinehurst Veterinary Hospital. They didn't properly treat one dog's allergies--instead of testing him for allergies, they put him on a steroid. The steroid wasn't working for him and he kept getting infections. Instead of finding another method of treatment, they just kept him on that. They accused me of mistreatment of my dog when it was clearly a rash from his allergies. My other dog has severe separation anxiety and they failed to even give us treatment options for her. Our recent discovery--from our new vet clinic--is that they didn't tell us we needed to license them. I didn't grow up around here and had no idea that I needed to license my dogs. We went to this vet for over a year and they never mentioned this even though they provide the licenses at their office. Instead of treating my dogs, I felt that they just wanted to take my money and make sure I had to keep coming back. They didn't care about the well-being of my dogs and didn't even notify me of city policy.
Awesome place
Great care so far for the animals we have brought in only problem is they just do whatever they feel is necessary and then bring you a bill without discussing the price of care. They asked if they wanted the wound cleaned and we said yes(no price given) here it comes back at $42 just for that. All this sudden a $57 vet visit turns into $262 due at the time of visit. I swear this vet is for people who can just throw away money without caring. The whole time I'm telling them I cant afford it they try to get me to get credit and look at me like I'm stupid as to how it works, as if I had just eaten a meal at a resturant and tryed to dash type of treatment. If your going to charge people at time of service breakdown the price before you do the service otherwise thats like a contractor remodeling your home and then slapping a bill on you due at time of completion. We might go back again but we will be asking how much things are before we just say yes.
I live out of state and called them by accident thinking I was calling our local pinehurst vet clinic. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone on a Sunday late evening was a great help. He explained alot to me and seemed very knowledgeable, if I lived closer I would pay for there services any time, out pets are our family. Thank you
I have two ferrets and not a lot of people have handled ferrets but she really knows what shes doing. And for me being a first time ferret parent she really helps put all my worries at ease.
Nice staff and clean.
How horrible to cut a dog open to be neuter and then tell us the you couldn't find any ovaries- One simple X-ray would of prevented my Dog from being cut wide open and have to suffer. This tells us that MONEY is all you care about. As you still charged us for the surgery.
They are incredible with animals of all kinds. Took really good care of my cat. Answered all my questions quickly and competently!
Great place. Just got out puppy vaccinations here.
Wrapped our cat's broken leg too tight, possibly costing her her foot. Then charged us to splint it again. Called with concern over bleeding and moisture. We were told that was normal. Had it looked at by someone else, 2nd splint too tight and infection in foot. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. We will NEVER bring another pet there.
Best caring vets ever
Would not take my dog anywhere else
Good vet but experience
The vet's are good, but not spectacular unless you have a dog. They were wonderful with my dog at all times. My cat is not a priority or taken care of as well. As for the reception... They are one of the worst I have encountered. Missouri Valley Vet, their sister hospital with the same doctors, has wonderful receptionists. Pinehurst on the other hand does not bother to acknowledge any customers that walk in the door. It does not matter if the receptionist is on the phone, writing a fax, looking for something, or talking with the other receptionist they will not acknowledge you until you stand in front of them for at least 5 minutes. The more annoyed I look, the more likely they will at least tell me they are busy--and by busy I mean I had no one waiting in front of me. I seriously don't understand how these receptionists are still working as they have no interpersonal skills. They are not friendly, they don't check in patients until they feel like it, and by then they have to yell across the room to make sure everyone is checked in. Easy fix: 1) Get new Receptionists or 2) Get a sign in sheet, so the receptionists can ignore the customers and it won't matter. Easy.
Very caring
I’m an out of town travel nurse with a SAR GSD. While on contract in Bismarck, ND, I was referred to Missouri Vet by a colleague at the hospital. My GSD needed a couple annual vaccinations. I made an appointment for a Saturday morning. After arriving 15 minutes early, I waited patiently to be called. A quarter after our appointment I asked if there was going to be a long delay. The front desk explained they had several emergencies that caused a backlog. I went back to my seat and watched 4 additional appointments come in and after the 3rd appointment was taken back to a room I asked what the issue was. I was told that I’d be next. Now 35 minutes past the scheduled appointment, another appointment was taken back ahead of me. I told the front desk that I’d need to reschedule. She asked if I’d wait another 15 minutes, I asked why and she said because they had emergencies. I said the 4 customers they took ahead of me weren’t emergencies and I left. Dishonest about scheduling and emergencies, lack of respect for customer. In summary, a poor first impression.
I would love to rate this vet clinic with five stars. The vets are very kind and knowledgeable. I've felt comfortable taking my dogs there and suggesting to family and friends to try them out for a while. However, the receptionists..well one of them anyway, is consistently rude. Anytime I've shown up to bring my loved ones in for an appointment, she acts as though I'm wasting her time, or I shouldn't bother coming in. She comes across as standoffish. In just over a year, I've lost three dogs that have been a huge part of my family. My own little girl last year, my mother's dog two and a half weeks ago, and my father's pup just a few days ago. EACH time, when the moment for that incredibly difficult decision arrived, to decide whether or not is was time to part ways with our loved ones came, she was extremely rude. We are already breaking down and at our worst moments. To deal with an abrasive attitude and overall lack of compassion from this person really tempts someone to consider doing business with another clinic. The veterinarians are terrific, but some better help at the front desk is very much needed.
A great vet clinic with my animal's needs as their #1 priority. Answer all of my questions politely and thoroughly. Something very valuable for a first time dog owner!
I can't thank Pinehurst Veterinary Hospital enough for the patience and the caring receptionist. I did have a huge bill, but they tried to find out what was wrong with my kitty. I approved every step along the way. We tried different tests and everything came back fine. When they opened her up, she had a crushed chest. We didn't find it soon enough for her to survive, but it wasn't from them trying and caring about the costs. They cared about the costs, that's why we started out with medicine. It took us too long to find out what was going on, but that doesn't make this clinic bad. I'm hurting and crying over the loss of my kitty. I believe I may have figured out what probably happened to my kitty and I want to warn all animal lovers. My kitty was smart - maybe to smart, she would open the door and let herself in and out. I'm wondering if this awful thing happened from her opening the door multiple times a day and now I wonder if she may have hit the door knob and crushed her chest. If you have any animal that opens doors, please protect them by placing something on your door knobs. It will save their lives and heartache for yourself. Thank you Pinehurst for the care your staff gave me through this difficult time.
I used this clinic for several years with mixed reception. It's a beautiful facility and has some friendly staff, but there seems to be quite a bit of turnover and this has resulted in a less desirable customer experience. Some of my pets have had some great attention, but it depends on the vet as one of my animals was misdiagnosed for a year. Upon seeing another vet within the facility, they called it "textbook autoimmune!" I was disappointed to think the other vet didn't realize this and I spent considerable funds on other treatments. I've decided to change vets as the service seems to be going downhill, everything seems to be getting more complicated and I can find something closer to home.
Great services...
Very friendly and definitely on the cheaper side with good service and they know what they're doing. From my cats to my sugar gliders! Awesome vet
If I was able to I would give less than one star for the experience that I had with them. we brought my little boy to the vet to be seen for the second broken growth plate in the span of 3 months. It was determined that he had a bone deficiency that would probably end up with him breaking more bones in the future and the breaks would probably get worse as he got older. So after talking with a few different people we decided that it was best to put him down. 3 days later the receptionist called me while I was at work and told me that I needed to come pay the bill or they would throw my little boy in the land fill. I told her that I had the receipts stating I had payed the bill and that I had paid for him to be cremated. She stated that they did not have payment for the cremation and that i needed to come pay it or they would throw him in the land fill. At this time I put the phone of speaker so that I would have other people as witnesses to them threatening to throw him away. I called back a few days later and confronted them on the fact that they were making threats to do that and they lied and said that they told me I had 10 days or they would throw him in the land fill. I told her it was not at all what she had said but that we were going to come and get him in a little bit. She said fine we will have him ready and hung up on me. I will never bring another animal of mine to this vet again, I am so hurt and disappointed with the way that this whole thing was handled.
Make sure you really know how much they will charge you upfront!! They did a neuter for my guinea pig and I was excited to find a vet that had experience with guinea pigs, as Lewis and Clark did not offer any services for them. Unfortunently they were dishonest about the cost, quoting me one number but charging me FIVE TIMES AS MUCH. They altered the price after I expressed concern and had my boyfriend return and repeated the concerns. Here's how it happened: Before I even made my appointment I called the front desk and asked the cost for the neuter procedure. I was told a reasonable quote, around $30. Pleased, I double checked to make sure there were no hidden costs. The receptionist assured me the number she told me was the flat rate "for the whole package" Come to find out, at the desk I was getting charged approximately 5-6 times more than the quote, with TONS of "add on" fees. The flat-out procedure itself was twice as much as I was quoted! This was way too much of a strain on my super tight budget and I almost cried on my way out after the receptionist simply assured me that she would change the computer system so that the 'cost wouldn't get confused again' Thankfully my boyfriend wasn't about to let me loose my food budget for the next two months and marched back in to restate the complaint. They were quick to refund. On a petty note, I received no curtesy reminder for the appointment, no information about the procedure upfront and they never spelled his name correctly.
They were very patient and understanding.
My husband & myself usually take our dog here & my ferrets. I love that their knowledgeable of ferrets, puts me at ease when i get my pets checked out here.
Always take good care of my dogs.
Very friendly staff, they were able to get us in quickly in an emergency, and the vet explained exactly what was going on and what our options were.
I love how clean it feels when I walk in. MVV on Commerce is my primary vet, but I do come to this location from time to time.
Completely worthless place unless you just want to throw money at them. I noticed other reviews saying how they quote you a price and then here the comes the bill and there are a dozen other sub charges that made it about 3 times as much as the original quote.
My dog is a wimp for some reason when going to the vet.... They do their best to settle his nerves and are compassionate about animals.
Great people great environment
Sad i had to put my cat down
My family and I were visiting family for the weekend and our 12 year old dog managed to hurt himself. I called Friday morning to see if they could help and the receptionist was very short and rude, which did not change once we arrived at the office. I wasn't looking for a friend Jayme, but a little compassion for someone who was almost 500 miles from home and was dealing with an injured family member. The entire time we were in the waiting room they was no expression from the front staff and no welcoming feeling. The vet technician and vet were nice and the tech was personable. I wish that they would've at least introduced themselves to me. Again....I have never met you and I am needing help because my 12 year old baby is in pain and cannot walk, a little compassion would be nice. I requested the x-rays be emailed to my vet back home and gave the vet their email address right away. I called my vet once we were back home, 5 days after our visit to the clinic, and the x-rays had not been sent yet. I hope I never have another need for a vet while I am visiting family and am very grateful for the wonderful vet clinic I have at home.
Friendly knowledgable staff. Great location.
Love,LOVE,love this location. Always great service!
They have taken care of my son and wife's pet perfectly.
Friendly staff and amazing swrvics for your furry family member. All the best are amazing and so sweet
