Got home from work and found my 13 year old dog vomiting and not eating or drinking. Called every vet in minot, where I live, and not one even answered the phone. Called this office and my dog was able to be treated as soon as we got there, 9pm on a Friday. The Dr was very kind and caring towards my dog and made me confident that she was gonna be ok. They're 2 hours away from where I live, but the service and care they provided is unbeatable. Well worth the drive to make this my regular vet office.

An absolutely wonderful place! Thank you so much to Dr. Bennett for taking such great care of our dog on such short notice. So helpful and reassuring as a veterinarian, we appreciate it so much. New to the area and asked a friend for a recommendation and so happy we did, this will be our permanent place for both dogs.

They were very understanding and helpful when we had to recently put our Golden Retriever down due to health issues. Within two days we received a sympathy card and also two cards with his paw prints on them. Very thoughtful.

I experienced an incredibly rude receptionist on 4/11. My dog has a sudden cardiac condition requiring urgent care and the only thing she was concerned about was his rabies vaccine (he’s current). She continued to interrupt me and be very rude, when all I wanted to do was schedule a diagnostic test before we head out to a specialist. I was put on hold for 10 minutes so she could “talk to the manager” about the rabies vaccine (which my dog is STILL current on with documentation), then the rude receptionist came back on the line to say they’d call back to schedule. 20 minutes wasted, tears shed, no appointment, and my dog is still dying. I wish I would have made a note of her name. Courtney maybe? Anyways, she’s an awful excuse of a person to be working with animals, and also has no concept of urgent medical care. I was quickly reminded why I no longer go to Missouri Valley or Pinehurst after 20 years of doctoring there. BTW, they never called back. I DO like Russ Voigt a lot and would be happy to follow him to a different facility with better support staff. I called my current clinic and was put right through to my vet. Lewis & Clark Vets are fabulous, Bismarck Vet Clinic is kind, but Missouri Valley made me feel like an awful person. Never again. I hope my dog haunts them. UPDATE: I did check my phone history, and no attempt was made by Missouri Valley to return the call. All incoming calls were accounted for. My dog is doing well after receiving the urgent care needed, which resulted in emergent surgery at U of M.

Great vet, really care about our critters.

Kind gentle explained so I understand. Very clean, explaining other ways my dog could do to help him. Thought we were going to have him put down. We did chromatic with acupuncture, and I believe that fixed his problem of not walking or jumping up and down. He's doing great now.

If you’re an avid pet lover and want only the best for them than, this is the animal clinic for you. I had my dog neutered in Minot at the local vet and it went horribly wrong. He ended up with a hematoma from them being too rough and it ended up swollen the size of a grapefruit. I called Missouri valley panicking and the receptionist registered me in the system and put an appointment in for me that day. When I arrived the entire staff were so kindhearted. They reassured me that my beloved dog would be ok and that he was in good hands with them. They prescribed pain meds and antibiotics that day. They then, scheduled his surrgery a few days later due to my work schedule. The day of surgery comes and I go to pick my dog up and he greeted me with a smile. I couldn’t even tell he had surgery because he was so happy. It was such a relief after having him lethargic for almost two weeks. I wish I could give y’all more than 5 stars because you really do deserve it.

My husband took our six pound chihuhua there for shots and he was SO very scared to be there. The vet and the technician were extremely cold, barely answered any of my questions regarding our dog's anxiety and training. Just seemed to want to get him in and out. I don't see how you can't be nice and caring towards a small 6 pound dog. Every time we have gone there they have a very cold demeanor and make you feel like they couldn't care less about the things you ask about. I am looking into switching vets because of this experience.

When my first kitten got severely ill, I called my vet at the time and was told I would have to wait two weeks before they could schedule us in. My poor kitty was in bad shape, she wasn't eating, drinking or moving around. I was devastated. Then, I remembered my parents had always taken their animals to Missouri Valley Veterinary Clinic. I called them up, was told to bring my kitten in IMMEDIATELY. Kitty survived and everyone at MVVC was so nice and sensitive, I was clearly very emotional when I brought her in and very worried. Since that day I have continued to take all my pets to MVVC. My first cat who I had taken to them all those years ago when she was very sick, got sick again at the age of 12. Cancer. Dr. Bettenhausen was nice and kind, as well as firm in the realities of the situation. When it was time to finally say good-bye the whole staff was understanding and kind. It was a sad day but I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I have been taking my pets here for the past 15 years and will continue to do so.

Absolutely phenomenal!! Dr.Tyler and his Tech Nichole were amazing at performing a emergency c-section on our dog and all the pups made it! Words can't begin to describe how much I appreciate their care for our fur babies and their safety!! They were not just doctors doing their job, they were outstanding people and it's clear of the passion they have to save lives. I truly feel blessed with the humanity and services they provided..

Much like Ryeliegh said previously. We took our dog in for what seemed to be an ear infection and terrible itching. They gave us a frontline flea and tick chewable and charged us $180. Today we took our dog, Leo, into a new vet and for the same $180 we got multiple items to fix his issues which ended up being an actual ear infection and NOT fleas or ticks whatsoever. They also cleaned his ears out for us and gave us many suggestions on how to put him at ease. The infection got way worse over this last month and nothing was done due to Missouri Valley. Would not recommend at all. They did not seem to care about us whatsoever and they charged us an arm and a leg to do absolutely nothing!

When our chocolate lab was about 1 year old he developed "stomach torsion" after playing outside and drinking a lot of water. We noticed a problem late in the evening and called at around 9:00. Dr. Russ seemed to have pretty good idea what was happening and urged us to meet him there quickly. They took our dog in and rushed him into surgery to fix the problem. Jake(the dog) will be 11 in a few months and has provided our family with immeasurable joy. I have never met people who truly love their profession. Thank you all for what you do!

Took my dog here (summer of 2015) because he had a severe limp in his rear leg. German wirehair/ lab cross about a year old. They told us, according to the $90 x-Rays he had early onset hip dysphasia and a torn tendon in his leg. They also gave us a "complimentary" nail trimming. Cut 3 of his nails on the front paws too short, to the point of bleeding and missed his dew claws. We got a second opinion at a diffrent local vet. Walked out with a $18 bottle of antibiotics. He had a forign object in his pad. Seriously, they would have pushed us into an unneeded surgury to repair his torn tendon. $2500+ is what we were quoted from them. Ridiculous and unprofessional. I wish 0 stars was an option. Update: found out for a fact today (01/05/18) that he DOES NOT have hip dysphasia like Missouri vally said. Had X-rays done today at another vet and confirmed this was untrue.

Everything went as planned, great vet (though I don't think I caught her name) and a fine clinic. My cat isn't very good with new people, so considering that he was doing fine with the handler/vet, I'd have to say he thought his trip went well...minus the fact that he's a cat and therefore getting poked with needles in a random room in some building other than his home was probably a bit uncomfortable.

kym kachena

Had an appointment, they took a walk in before me as I sat an waited past my appointment time, 30 mins later Vet called us in and first apologize for forgetting about us. During appointment, I had to ask the vet to check things on my dog that she forgot to do... kept saying, oh yeah I shoulda looked at that... No thanks, will Not be back anytime soon!

Cindy Rohrick

I've used them for a few years, and believe the vets are knowledgeable. They're good with my cats, and never have pushed tests, etc. on me. They may make recommendations, but it still is up to me to decide what I want done.

My family and I have been bringing our pets here for +30 years. I Tried to get an appointment for my dog, who was vommitting and having diarrhea for 3 days. I Was told they are booked up 4-6 weeks. Then, I was told if I wanted to pay an extra urgent care fee they could get him in the next day. So they obviously had an opening, and were just making a money grab. The receptionist was rude and said, "If you don't like it, go somewhere else, I'll transfer your paperwork." So I will go somewhere else. As will the rest of my family.

I took my 3 month old puppy to have a growth on his eye examined. Dr.Riveland was extremely unprofessional. She kept laughing at all of the questions I asked such as the risks of having this removed. She hardly paid any attention to my dog. I asked her if he would be ok to put under anesthesia since he's so small she said she "thinks" he would be fine. It was the worst experience of my life. I left there in tears and can't believe I spent $45 for an office visit with that type of unprofessionalism.

***Update*** Site manager Leslie took the time to contact us and listen to our concerns. After listening to us she assured us that the blade of grass would not have shown up on the exray as a foreign body, she also let us know that its impossible to determine if a saline wash would have removed the grass blade on the first visit or not. Just wanted to say thanks for reaching out and listening to our concerns. Dr. Matt. Thank you for catching the abscesses and taking care of a potentially far worse issue. So a little over 2 weeks ago, we brought our male in for an emergency visit because he started backwards sneezing, and wheezing to the point of whistling through his nose. We told Dr. Matt that since it came on out of the blue we had believed something maybe had gotten stuck up his nose. Dr. Matt had informed us that couldn't be the case since dogs have bilateral drainage... took some xrays, said xrays looked ok, put him on 2 different meds... a steroid and an antibiotic to clear up kennel cough or possibly some type of infection. We asked if there was some way he scope his nose but the rhinoscope was too large for our little pappilon. Fast forward a week, still backward sneezing wheezing, whistling so we bring him back in... more exrays.. Dr. comes out to the waiting area, has us come back to look at results, he has 2 abscesses in his upper canines and the pressure is causing such a swelling that its putting pressure on his nasal cavity... we need to do emergency tooth extraction. More meds, and go home. Fast forward 6 days.. finally a change... still backward sneezing, wheezing, not much whistling, but add in full body sneezes to the point of almost smashing his face into the floor like multiple times in a row... Fast forward 4 days, another vet trip, still no willing to listen to the pet owners... more meds (this time a pill instead of a liquid to fight with[yay!])if still no change we can sedate again and try a saline wash through his nasal cavity. Fast forward 6 days still sneezing so hard he almost smashes face into floor, still having issues breathing right and a storm rolling through at 4 am that wakes us. We get up to comfort him and he starts sneezing deep full body sneezes and my wife grabs to hold him so doesnt smash his face and says I think something is in his nose, I get up and see something, hold his head and proceed to pull an almost 3.25 inch blade of grass out of his nostril. No more sneezing(backward or full body), no more wheezing, nore more whistle breathing. Im thankful that it wasnt anything so serious that it could've possibly ended in a different outcome, and I am thankful that the abscesses were caught, however I am so frustrated that there seemed to be no willingness to listen, really listen to the owner of the pet being brought in. I have to question... was the blade of grass the dark spot on the exray that was read as the pressure on the nasal bone prompting the removal of the teeth? Would a saline nasal wash possibly cleaned this out on the very first visit when we first told him we believed something may have been lodged or gotten stuck?

Visited Bismarck to see family beginning of August. Was fantastic that they were able to get my dogs in next day. Everyone was lovely except the vet. He needs some bedside manner training (Dr. Tyler Bennett). REALLY appreciated that they were willing to see us and then when my second dog developed the same symptoms, they were willing to prescribe meds without another visit. Asked for the records to be sent to my vet and was given a receipt that didn't say much...really weren't interested in helping with that in reception. Then, when I got home and my dogs still had symptoms, my vet tried repeatedly calling for the records and was still never able to get them. That is disappointing. Great for the willingness to get someone in, terrible at follow-up.

Had a pet emergency when another dog attacked mine on a leash. Called and was able to get an appointment that gave me enough time to travel from Minot to Bismark since no vets in Minot would open on Saturday for us. All the staff at the Commerce location was great. Everyone was so nice and they stitched my dog up without any problems. He's doing well today.

Our dog had to have a emergency visit to the vet these guys hooked it up and helped out. Turns out the dog only had a sore back and was acting like a drama queen

These guys saved my dogs life. My miniature schnauzer became severly ill in a matter of hours and was near death, i took her in on a sunday. They swiftly diagnosed her and within hours she has a life saving surgury. They kept her there for 3 days and my bill was only 1100, for everything. This was well worth the price. They were so kind and considerate. I even got to go in before the surgery and see my sweet dog, not knowing if she was going to make it.

These guys go above and beyond with your pet took my dog in for an ear infection and a few days later they even called to check up on her never been more satisfied with a veterinarian ever they are outstanding people and truly care about animals

They were so good with my kitten he got bit in the head by a little dog and he was in shock. They fixed him up and we were on our way home. They also worked with us on a payment because we didn't have much money.

Expensive but good service for pets

Plaguelord238

I have been there several times and I have nothing but positive things to say. They have always been professional and courteous. The prices are a tad high but I feel the service is the best around. They are always accommodating when I over-worry. They have always been very helpful. One of my cats had sutures that did not dissolve and they explained to me that occasionally they would be rejected and eventually would fall out. Even though they took a great amount of time to help me discover and explain to me, they did not charge me. They were correct and my cat is very happy! Every time I'm there I feel like my pets are safe and well cared for. I would recommend them for anyone who really cares for their family friend.

Honestly, I refused to go to this place for almost a decade because of price gouging, lack of communication, and complete rudeness, but I approve of the younger, kinder, and less money grubbing vets they've brought on board. Keep it up!

Exquisitely unimpressed. Waited 40 minutes after the scheduled appointment. Dr. Kunz(I assume that's who we saw-it's the name on the prescription) roomed us, did not apologize for the wait, did not introduce herself, did not great me or my dog (other than to say he was old), and did not seem the last bit interested in seeing my dog. When he was up on the table, she just pushed my dogs head away, saying nothing to him. When I voiced concerns, she shrugged them off. I had to specifically request that she actually examine him. When the person we saw (again, I believe it was Dr. Kunz, but who knows, maybe it was a tech) started talking about medications and I asked about drug interactions, she had completely forgotten that my dog was taking anything. I had to pay for the medications before they were given to me and without knowing exactly what I was getting. $175 later, all I am is unimpressed and certain that I will never go back there again.

Sometimes the receptionists aren't very friendly but the vets take good care of my dogs.

If I could rate the vet & vet techs seperatley, I would. They deserve 5 stars. The receptionist who sits to the far right (from the customers view point) is extremely rude. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience with the receptionists, I just keep hoping maybe someone had a bad day & that their services will get better. But they can’t seem to get it together from keeping my pets’ charts straight to being kind and caring when I walk thru the door. The vetranarians however, provide excellent services.

Jennifer Anderson

The doctor we saw was very knowledgeable, and listened to our concerns about our dog. He was very friendly and looked over all of our records since we had just moved into the area.

Rebecca Kiser

I have never had an issue with MVVC until March, 9th. I took my lab in because she had a hematoma in her ear. They took her in and everything was fine. Sent me home with meds and a fixed ear. The part that bothered me was that I had to call the next day and see when her stitches needed to come out and how long she needed the cone on. They did not tell me any of this when I checked out. A few days later I noticed that she had a large scab on her ear, where they had shaved it. They had apparently cut her ear while shaving it. I am not talking about a little cut either. There is a good 1/2 inch divot missing out of her ear. I would not have been too upset about, IF they had told me about it before I left the clinic on the day it happened. I get it. It happens, but you should notify the owner when it happens. Other than this most recent issue, I have no other complaints!

Dr. Matt was great with our previous pet experience. Received the worst and honestly brutally rude customer service from - who I must assume was the office manager. Was in total shock of how she treated me. Considering we just spent close to a thousand dollars with them a few weeks ago. Will never put up with that treatment again.

Dr. Ty and dr. Tyler are amazing! By far the best vets ive ever taken my pets too

Ryeliegh Rules

My dog has been having issues with his skin & they initially said it was due to allergies. They suggested I change his food and give him Benadryl. We gave it a few months and his condition only got worse so I took him back today. The gal we saw today did not ask me how he was doing, what his symptoms were, or even if I had any questions or concerns. She did not ask me a single question. I saw this vet for a total of 2 minutes as she took him back to get his skin scrapped and when she came back in to tell me she will be giving him nex guard . She did not explain what they were testing his skin for, or what this medication was going to do for him. She did not give me time to ask questions as she was in and out. I did express to her as she was walking out my dogs ears have a bad smell and are itchy and she said she would give him some ointment. When I go to pay my bill I didn't get anything for his ears and was charged out the rear for a flea medication. He doesn't have fleas so I why was this being prescribed? One of many questions I left the office with. I am extremely frustrated at this point and I walk out to my car and decide to call to speak to the vet . "The vet we had just saw (5 minutes ago mind you) has left for the day and so did the assistant that was with her" . Well no wonder I was rushed, they had better things to get to and helping my dog and me as a concerned owner was not one of them. The gal I spoked to on the phone answered one of my questions but since she wasn't there to see my dog she couldn't answer my other questions. I did not feel they made my dog a priority & therefore I will not be bringing any of my dogs back to Missouri valley.
