I have nothing but great things to say about every single person involved with my experience here. I have taken my dog and my cat to another veterinarian for 9 years. However, I recently had a terrible experience there, this led me to reach out to Grand Valley for a second opinion. From the very first phone call, where I inquired about an appointment, the staff was friendly and caring. They got me in immediately, I saw their relatively new vet, Dr. Pauline, and I will never go back to my old vet again. During the appointment I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put my cat down, this was the most difficult decision I had ever made. Despite it being our first meeting, Dr. Pauline treated me and my baby with such kindness and care. She was so gentle and full of empathy throughout the whole process. I never felt rushed, or pushed and I made it through this terrible time because of how kind the staff was. I highly recommend this clinic.

Doctor is friendly. Up to date and knows what he's talking about. Trustworthy. Provides great care for our pets. Office staff is okay. Only real complaint is cost but seems that's the standard here in GFND. Much more economical in South Dakota and Texas and still receive excellent care for our pets.

We searched all over Northern Minnesota for a vet well versed in ferret care. We were so lucky to find Dr. Mackinnon. She is amazing with our two ferrets! Great staff at the clinic, always friendly and helpful. The excellent care at Grand Valley is worth the drive from Thief River Falls.

Dr. Darin and Dr. Erika are always helpful and friendly with our pets. They are a wealth of information and suggestions. Recently, our dog broke her front leg. Dr Darin was more than accommodating on a late weekend night and took great care of our dog. X-rays showed just how extensive the injury was, and we had -zero- doubt our pet would be taken care of. We'd never consider anywhere else.

I brought my 12 week old puppy in to get surgery on his broken leg. The surgery was messed up and paralyzed my puppy resulting in me having to then put him down. I went there again with my new 8 week old puppy who was sick and they told me they didn’t know what was wrong with him and told me they couldn’t help and recommended that I put him down or take him to Fargo instead. Very, very unsatisfied with the Vets who were not thorough or personal with either of my puppies.

Without a doubt Grand Valley has been the most professional and most involved clinic I've been to. Dr. MacKinnon is great to work with, and always has time to answer questions and explains things very well. The rest of the staff is equally courteous, and each visit has been positive.

We have been using this Vet for almost 5 years and couldn't be happier with their professionalism, compassion, and prices. Sadly we woke up this morning to our 15 year old dog throwing up. Knowing that she is older and not doing so well we kind of knew what was coming. Her condition had deteriorated significantly over the last few weeks and it was her time. I immediately called Grand Valley and spoke to their front desk staff. I explained what was going on and they said they would speak to the Vet and call me back. Within minutes they called me back and told me when you bring her in. Upon arriving we were brought straight to the exam room and it was explained to us that it may be a short wait as Dr. Muelebroeck was extremely busy due to it being a Monday and them being short-staffed today. We had to wait about 15 minutes and could hear just how busy they were (we were next to the front desk). However you could never tell how busy Dr. Muelebroeck was once he came in to see our dog, it was as though we were the only patients he had. He patiently examined our dog and took the time to explain all of our options and answer our questions. When we made the difficult decision to euthanize our dog it was handled with great compassion from every staff member we encountered. Dr. M even made a ceramic pawprint personally. At the end of the day the staff at Grand Valley Animal Hospital took a VERY difficult situation and prevented it from being any more difficult than it needed to be. We miss our baby but know she was in good hands as were we. To the staff: thank you for being amazing from beginning to end, you are truly great at what you do! Matt, Ashlee, and Guinness

They are very knowledgeable and professional, and I feel confident that my dog Reese will get the best care possible. I can always get in quickly (even for minor things!) and the staff are always willing and able to answer my questions. Cannot recommend them enough! Also, there are MANY more reviews on Grand Valley's Facebook page - not sure why they don't have more on Google.

We take our dogs here. Our dogs are like children to us and this translates into the degree of trust we have in Dr. Meulebroeck. I like and respect him as a vet enough that I'm not dropping my rating for a, let's say, a very relaxed attitude towards other people's time that his front desk staff exhibit. The expression of Durrrrr with a slight line of drool rolling from a corner of the mouth should be expected when dealing with them. I support employing the disabled, however. Just keep in mind that the wait is worth it. I took my boy here for his last days and can't say more for the sympathy and willingness to help me, on a weekend, when I needed him, that Dr Meulebroeck exhibited.
