Would give 0 stars if I could. Horrendously unprofessional.

I’m so disappointed in the Fargo location. My dog has terrible seasonal allergies. We’ve tried every remedy: apoquil, all of the antihistamines, Benadryl, and prednisone is the only thing that ever works. My dog is 13, and we’ve been battling these allergies for 7 years, I know what works for him. Understandably, doctors don’t like to use prednisone for extended periods and I appreciate it. However, I’d rather have my old pup comfortable for the time he has left with us. I called on a Monday for a prescription, called back on Wednesday because I hadn’t heard anything and finally went in on Thursday (today) because I still hadn’t been contacted. I was admittedly frustrated when I approached the front desk and explained. I told the receptionist that I knew it wasn’t her fault but was still met with a very rude demeanor. I was given every excuse as to why I wasn’t contacted and told they didn’t have the drug in stock. I was offered a written prescription once they found out they couldn’t have the med transferred from Casselton and I said okay but also mentioned I’d be taking my pet elsewhere from now on. Then the receptionist went to the back again and a technician came out and said that they would only prescribe him apoquil and refused to prescribe prednisone. I repeatedly told them to look at his records but they never did. Why would I give him something that hasn’t worked for him in the past? I called the Casselton location in tears. The receptionist took the time to track down Dr. Schmid and they said they would get us taken care of right away. I hate to give a bad review to the entire company but the Fargo location is a poor reflection of the Casselton Veterinary Service name. I will never go back to the Fargo location and I’d strongly recommend you make the drive to the casselton location to get the amazing care they’re known for. I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences with Dr. Bartholomay, Dr. Schmid and everyone else at the Casselton location. They’re fantastic but I may need to strongly consider taking my pets elsewhere due to this experience.

Very upset and disappointed. This past Thursday, I brought my healthy cat in to get a common wellness check and two shots, but she ended up passing away during her examination. My cat was visibly nervous traveling to the vet, but once in the exam room she seemed fine. The vet tech lifted my cat up with her hands fully around her neck for an extensive amount of time in order for the vet to check her belly. Once she let go of her, my cat collapsed, unconscious, onto the table. They checked for a heartbeat, but it was beating slowly so they took her to a back area to try to resuscitate her. When they returned, they told me that they had given her CPR and a shot in her heart because it had stopped. They also tried putting a breathing tube down her throat, but they were unable to revive her. There was blood around her mouth when they brought her back into the room and they told me she had blood in her lungs. Furthermore, the vet said that she could have died at any time because she probably had some sort of pre-existing lung condition, but nothing was said when my cat's lungs were being checked just minutes before with a stethoscope. And before that day, my cat did not have any visible breathing issues and seemed perfectly healthy. I will never, ever be returning or bringing another beloved pet to this place.

I hope the Fargo location is just going through growing pains, as all I have heard is positive things about the Casselton location. Yes, I waited 40 minutes past my appointment time this morning due to 2 different reasons I received from the staff. I can easily let that go, as mistakes happen (but just be honest and respectful about it, not disgusted). The major issue I see is that the ladies at the reception desk give priority to the phones instead of the clients that are checking in or waiting to pay for their services. I have been their twice now and each time I have truly felt like they were upset that I or another client was standing there because we were interrupting their phone time. It's great that their phone is ringing non-stop but when you have clients with money in hand and they have to stand their 10-15 minutes till all calls are answered, than get cut off in the middle of their payment by another phone call with not as much as an "excuse me" is nothing but disrespect of their clients time. I hope this gets resolved and the clients walking in the door start getting treated with respect they deserve.

I am so impressed with Casselton vet in Fargo! I have a small dog with reoccurring skin infections/allergies, and Dr. Thill and Dr. Dowdle (she is at the Casselton location) have gone above and beyond to help. I have tried a few different vets and we are definitely staying with them. I have nothing but good things to say!

Recently relocated from the Twin Cities. Needed a provider for my 2 Cardigan Welsh Corgis. I saw Dr. Schmid, assisted by Kryssy, today to establish care. We had a fantastic experience. Everyone from checkin (Emilia) to checkout was friendly and kind to both me and my dogs. Dr. Schmid had great rapport with the dogs. Her exam was thorough and informational and she seemed genuinely interested in my dogs wellbeing. Kryssy was kind and knowledgeable, and both my dogs were comfortable with her immediately. I've definitely found my new vet clinic and provider.

If I could give them no stars I would gladly do so. I brought my new puppy here for her first set of shots. I brought a towel in with me for my puppy to be on since she was not vaccinated yet and I expressed concern about her catching Parvo. When we got in the exam room the tech asked if she could take my puppy in the back so she could meet the other staff. I nicely refused and said she could after she gets all her vaccines at a later date. My mothers dog has always had a rabies titer done and is registered in the city of Moorhead. I asked about titers to make sure they did those at this location. The vet told me it is illegal for rabies to do that. When I got home I called the Casselton location to clarify and they said that they do provide titer testing for rabies at both locations. I informed them of what I was told and they said they would provide them the information. I should have never made my second appointment with them! I was on vacation so my mom brought my puppy in for her shot. I called before hand to clarify with the staff that my mom was bringing her, that she has full rights to make decisions and that I was sending a signed paper with what I did and did not want done. They said that would be great and it sounded good. My mom arrived early and had to sit and wait 45 minutes before she was even brought to the exam room. In the exam room she had to wait again. On my paper I clearly wrote that she has a lump in her ear that I would like checked and that she has had loose stools. They refused to do an exam even though she was getting a shot and health concerns listed. My mom asked multiple times and they refused. When we declined the smear of food on the table for her to lick during her shot the tech said that my mom would have to hold my puppy then for the shot because they were short staffed. My mom is not trained to restrain animals for shots. Even though the tech "read" my paper when my mom first got in the room she still tried to do the food smear on the table and my mom had to remind her not to. I also clearly said no to a certain test on my paper and was charged for it, my mom had to go back in and have them remove and reverse the charge. The staff was snotty and rude! They say that your animals health is their number one concern, I do not feel it is at the Fargo location at all! After the appointment my mom called me to review how the appointment went with me. I called the clinic to talk with the staff that was in my appointment. She was so rude. She did however guarantee that my puppy is healthy. I am not sure how though, there was no exam at all a vet never even stepped foot in the room. I am fine with a tech giving the shot instead of a vet as long as it is done correctly. I am so disgusted with this clinic there were so many more things that I had issues with there!

Very kind and loving staff and vets. They took the time with my nervous dog to make her feel more comfortable. Now that they have a clinic in Fargo, it's much easier for me to get there when we need to. They also have a grooming parlor at the Fargo location. We'll have to check that out soon!

I have used Casselton Veterinary in Casselton, North Dakota for years, I love the team there just wasn't thrilled about the 25 minute drive especially in the winter, but wasn't willing to go anywhere else. Now they have a NEW LOCATION in Fargo! I brought my furbaby in for her annual check-up last Monday night and we went to their new building, so easy to get to, great staff and now extended hours. I am thrilled!!

Do not recommend the Fargo location! Our rescue dog is very timid of people and dogs. We’ve worked with her a ton to socialize her. The first time at the vet I couldn’t even get her to go through the door. This time she did well and even wagged her tail. We were there for boosters and the vet tech came out. I told her she’s very timid of people and we’ve been working with her. Well she grabbed her leash and our dog wouldn’t go, so she began full- on dragging her to the back. I asked her to stop and if I could lead her back. So she walked back fine and once we got to the door she grabbed her leash and dragged her once again. The dog was so terrified, that she was frantically trying to get out of her collar. I explained to her we’ve really been working to make her not afraid of people and this isn’t helping, and asked if we could go into one of the rooms so we could be with her. She annoyingly said she’ll “try” to find a room. Then literally walked through the open room to let us in. So I said, “Oh, so a room was available?” Another vet tech came in and the shot went great. Then before they left, I explained that we’ve been working really hard to get this dog not to be scared of everything. She’s made a lot of progress and I don’t want her to take steps back and be scared of people, places, etc. So I don’t feel dragging her around by her leash when she’s clearly terrified is helpful, and it seemed like a huge inconvenience to ask for a room so we could be with her. Anyways in the middle of talking, the vet tech that was rude just left and walked out of the room. I went to the front desk and asked who I’d talk to if I had a complaint and the one girl wouldn’t even look up from her computer. When we got home Nora started peeing all over the floor, and that hasn’t happened in a long time. Totally unprofessional.
