Absolutely love Dr. Wallis and the rest of the staff at Capeside, they are so good to our pack of pups!! It's obvious how much they care, and that gives me so much peace of mind. The office is always clean and they are open 7 days a week, which makes it convenient to plan around our work schedules. Kathy was at front desk and welcomed me and Jersey .Michele was Asst. to Dr. Sami...they were so pleasant and gentle with my pup Jersey. They spent quality time with us to get a clear picture of his behavior and actions since I had only had him 4 days.Bree followed up with a phone call to see how we were and if I had any questions or concerns that I may have forgotten during our visit. Today was the first time I have used this vet. It is convenient to where I work and so that is how I chose it. The staff really care about the animals and you can tell this from your very entrance. I was checked in and seen in a matter of minutes and the dr was spot on, along with the tech, explaining options and meds. Spike was groomed also and he looks gorgeous. Although the office did forget to call me to pick up Spike when he was ready, the office manager called immediately after I left to apologize. The pricing was very comparable to other vet offices, if not a bit less. I am very pleased with my first visit and Spike has found his vet care :)

We have never had a vet that was as attentive and concerned as those at Capeside. They have worked closely with us and even call to check on our pet. On one occasion they even stay late to see our kitty instead of sending us to the animal hospital. We REALLY appreciate that.

We were new to the area and our beautiful baby girl Bella became ill. We went to Capeside because it was closer to our home and ended up with Dr Wallis. She was very patient and gentle while coaxing Bella from her carrier. She took her time while examining our 14 year old cat. Over the next several days of treatment, it became apparent that Bella would not get better and we had to make that painful decision that no pet owner ever wants to make. Dr Wallis lovingly helped Bella cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Dr Wallis has a kind and caring mannerism in tune with the animals that she touches. Our family will always be in debt to Dr Wallis for the compassion that she showed our baby girl Bella.

Absolutely, absolutely, the best vet we've taken our dog to! Dr. Carmine made sure to bond with Sophi before the exam, as this was her first visit here. She was gentle and talked very soothingly and occasionally gave a small treat. This was the calmest we have seen our dog doing exam and shots. We we're very impressed with the whole atmosphere and staff. I'm glad we finally found a good vet here!

I am updating and rewriting my review. I previously included a frustration, but since then it has been corrected. Everyone at Capeside is awesome. The entire staff is full of animal lovers that care for your pet, but they also care about you as a pet owner. I have worked with most, if not all, of the doctors in the office and they are all great. I wouldn't even consider taking a pet anywhere else.

Daughter took her cat she adopted to Capeside for her spay she had a voucher it should not of cost her anything. But the billed her for every small thing. My daughter did get her microchipped and treatment for her eye that was watery. And one flea treatment. They charged her for iv fluids 16.99 for the spay pain meds.18.99 Boarding. 16.99. microchip 56.00. eye meds 20.00 . Flea treatment 22. It came up to around 156.00 my daughter was in years because she was shocked at the price. I explained to her never have services down without getting prices first. With that said why is Capeside charging extra fees for the spay... I am surprised they didn't charge for the paper receipt.

I was a client of Capeside for a long time, the Drs were very compassionate and helpful, but one time I waited for over half an hour on Sunday for them to open. I had a very sick dog with a UTI. Another lady came in after me to have her dog's nails clipped and they took her before my sick dog. I never got an explanation as to why that happened and i never went back.

My cat was 14 years old and suffering from renal failure. I took her to Capeside to be euthanized. I knew them to be professional but I never expected them to be so compassionate and caring. Each person we encountered was respectful and had a gentleness to match the circumstance. It was as if they loved our cat too. They made a very difficult situation peaceful. We have been using Capeside for 2 years now and could not be happier with the care our 2 dachshunds receive. We consider our dogs to be patients of Dr. Hayley Bush but they have on occasion been seen by other staff veterinarians without any loss of confidence on our part. Everyone is courteous, competent and clearly loves animals. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We have been going to Capeside for a year now, with our German Shepard pup. They have great staff, a very clean inviting environment and convenient hours, weekends included. Emergency services are also taken care of here. It's pricey, and they recommend a lot of options, which can significantly increase the bill. Also, we've learned that we need to ask for our veterinarian, or we'll get who ever is available. Busy place, and doesn't offer that smaller vet relationship that can be nice to have.

Capeside animal hospital is amazing. They have been a lifesaver for us. We have 4 dogs, not on purpose though! When we moved to Leland we started taking our oldest fella, Jax there and were very happy with the care. A few years later my fiancé found a mama dog and her 2 babies on the side of the road and we took them in. All of a sudden we had 2 newborns, a new mama, and my old man Jax. Capeside not only walked us through how to care for the babies and the mama but gave us the best care possible and worked with us on the cost within reason of all the added treatments, shots, and supplements we needed. Between the four (thanks to some overly curious puppies and pre existing conditions) we've had a broken leg, a dislocated hip, two snake bites, and a heart worm treatment, so Most of the staff knows us by name at this point! Each vet we have met, and we've met all but one I believe, has been compassionate and knowledgeable! We appreciate everything they have done for us and would absolutely recommend them to anyone in search of a new vet.

I have never been so impressed as I am with Capeside Animal Hospital. I had to take in my extremely shy (almost feral) cat who is afraid of everyone except us. I expected her to freak out completely. They were so gentle and patient with her that she cooperated totally and was relaxed and friendly. Kudos to the tech Bobbi, especially! They were thorough, and I felt the fees were totally reasonable.

Good staff, good service, but more expensive than other vets. Almost every procedure, prescription, visit always seems to require yet another exam, yet more tests (when vets I've been to in the past would, for instance, prescribe anxiety medicine for storms without having to perform an exam first...). They also board, which is handy, but with the next day charge occurring at noon, if you pick up at 12:30pm, 1pm, whatever, you're paying for another full day. We've boarded our three dogs for a week before, with all three getting baths, one getting a groom, one getting an exam (which then led to a more involved exam and expensive tests), and there wasn't even the hint of an offer at discounting the several thousand dollar bill. There are cheaper places to board (such as ECVR, which is a 24/7 vet hospital even), with more capacity, and if you have a dog recuperating from a surgery, they have staff that can work with your dog during their stay to help rehabilitate them (for a fee, but no complaint there). I really want to like Capeside, they have some good vet doctors, but there are some decisions made there that I really don't agree with. It really gives me the impression that despite the fact that they are a very in-demand clinic, in a decently affluent area, they still seem to always be trying to eke ever more money from you... It's really a shame.

Best "emergency" experience someone could ask for on a weekend for their pet. From the moment I called to see if my pup could be seen to our arrival, check-in and check-out, the office staff were all incredibly calm, patient, and nurturing. In the exam room, we had the pleasure of being looked after by Amanda and Dr. Farrell. They were both incredibly kind and showcased impeccable “bedside manner,” keeping their voices steady, and actions slow and intentional eliminating any additional stress for me or my boy. They were gentle and kept the energy positive and reassuring for us even when my buddy was taken back without me for x-rays. Dr. Farrell gave us a multi-level treatment plan starting with some medication, which upon request, they administered effortlessly to him on my behalf. They reviewed initial costs with me over the phone, again while in the exam room while determining the treatment plan, and again at checkout. While expensive, like any doctor visit/treatment for a human or pet, the only surprise was that I expected it to be way more, simply because it was an “emergency,” a Sunday, and my dog was not an established patient. I felt the price for the care we received was very reasonable. The next day we received a follow up call from Dr. Farrell to check on my buddy, as well as a call from the office staff ensuring our experience was ok. I can't say nice enough things for all those I encountered at this appointment. I am so incredibly grateful for each of them, and for the compassion they all displayed. On top of all that, this facility is brand new, and absolutely beautiful, clean, welcoming, and considerably easy to get to. I would highly recommend this animal hospital for traditional treatment &/or the unexpected weekend trip for your cat or dog.

I had a sick puppy on Saturday and needed to find a vet closer to me than where I usually go (in Supply). I called because I was was referred to them by a friend. I asked if they take walk ins and the woman who answered the phone rudely replied that they do, but that I would have to wait until all the appointments had been seen (I understand as a walk in there is more of wait) but then she wanted to know if we were already patients and I explained to her that we weren't but that my puppy needed to be seen. I then inquired as to how busy they were and if him being seen was a possibility to which I got a long drawn out sigh and the response oh yes, we're very busy. At this point, I was over her attitude and quite frankly more worried about my puppy than her so I politely said "thank you, I will find someone to see him that won't be so inconvenienced". I'm not saying everyone at the office acts this way, and maybe this lady was having a particularly bad day... But her attitude will keep me from ever going there and I will share this story with everyone. Side note: After I hung up, someone from that number tried to call me at least 6 times, but I was on the phone with the vet that ended up seeing my puppy.

I could not disagree more with Shamma Lammadingdong in regard to his review of Dr. Christine Carmine, DVM. When we moved to NC in 2006 we took our then eight year old dog to an animal hospital in Wilmington. After a few visits Dr. Carmine became our “vet of choice”. We have always found her to be compassionate, kind, patient, extremely knowledgeable and never once felt nickel or dimed. Because of her superb skills, excellent bedside manner and genuine concern for our dog, we naturally transferred our dog’s records to Capeside Animal Hospital when Dr. Carmine joined their practice. She cried with us when our almost 15 year old dog went to “Rainbow Bridge”. She handled her death with care, sensitivity and compassion. She even made a copy of the “Rainbow Bride” poem and personally gave it to us. When we made the decision to get another dog our first appointment after picking her up from the breeder was with Dr. Carmine. Not having had a puppy in more than 15 years was somewhat of a challenge for us. I became totally frustrated when our puppy refused to go for a simple walk. I spoke to Dr. Carmine and immediately she offered her help. I went to her home and off we went for a mile long walk in her neighborhood accompanied by her two rescue dogs and my puppy. By the end of that walk she was used to the leash. Something that used to be pure agony is now an absolute joy. Our puppy continues to thrive under Dr. Carmine’s excellent care

I was so impressed by this veterinary office and the entire staff I dealt with today that I didn't want to wait to write this review. This is the best experience I have ever had by far with a vet's office. From the moment I called until I checked out I was treated with kindness. I had just moved to Leland and Holly, who answered my phone call this morning, was able to get my cat, Duchess in at 9:00 a.m. Megan and Kathy checked me in and they already had my cat's record from her other vet's office. They were super friendly and professional. Christina, who brought my cat in for her exam was so nice. Dr Wallis was truly amazing. They were so great with my cat and their prices were fair. I would recommend them to anyone seeking an amazing practice to take their pet. .

Your pet deserves better. I took my dog in for an optional cyst removal. It has been there for 5 years and has gradually grown. It was about golf ball sized and we wanted it to be removed for cosmetic reasons. My dog now has a 7 inch wound. We are appalled with the results. I was quoted 1 rate and when I came back to pick my dog up it went up significantly. Dr. Wallis really said "I have to get paid for my time" when she was justifying the high charges. I was given someone else's paperwork at checkout and was also billed for items I didn't get. If you care about your pet you will go somewhere else.

I never owed a puppy before and this animal hospital was recommended to me. The staff is super helpful and the vets really care about your pet. My puppy loved the staff as well. Especially the treats. Being a new puppy mom they gave me print outs of information on potty training and play biting and how to navigate everything. The hours are also so convenient with Saturday hours that fit my schedule. Scheduling is a breeze also.

My dog became sick on a Saturday, when the animal hospital I had taken him to in Southport is closed. At the recommendation of the folks at Dog Days Boarding in Southport, I contacted Capeside. Though We had never been there before, and had no appointment, they encouraged us to come in. We did so, and before long were seen by Lu and Dr. Wallis. They could not have been kinder or more caring, And 24 hours later my dog is doing much better. I was also very impressed by the large, modern facility. And the fact that they have Saturday and even Sunday hours is a huge plus. It is a bit of a drive from my home, but well worth it.

Such nice staff, they truly do care for your pets when you bring them through their doors. I like that the cat's have their own area, it helps not having to drag your cat away from a barking dog. It's definitely a better idea to separate the two. A bit too pricey but I feel like they know me and my cat by name and don't mind it due to the excellent care.

I don't understand what the other person is talking about. Every time I've been there (which has been a lot, recently), they printed out a detailed itemized page and stapled my receipt to it without me even asking for it.

Rude , unprofessional ,judgemental staff . Upon moving to area , and a new customer these "professional" , laid into me as to what heart worm medications has my dog been on?! I asked my previous veterinarian to send records..they only sent vaccines.This is all after I spent $300, for a pulled nail for my Golden??? If you treat your customers like their criminals you loose them. Horrible experience...all about making almighty dollar.

She even showed up the following day (on her day off) to help read test results at the diagnostic center across town. Capeside is WONDERFUL!!!! They are a large facility and even have Sunday hours- but everyone is very helpful and caring. They have 2 entrances and waiting rooms- one for cats and one for dogs. When we hade to put our cat to sleep, they were very kind to me on the phone as I inquired, and super nice the day we came in. Dr Wallis was very kind and considerate as she explained the painless procedure, treated our cat with love and gave us lots of time to say goodbye. They have cared for our cat and dog for over 2 years, we have had contact with 3 of the wonderful doctors- and they are always caring and professional.
