Here you will see the opinions of people who are buying the products of ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance (Veterinarian) in the area close to North Carolina.
At the present the business receives a score of 4.6 stars out of 5 and that rating is based on 234 reviews.
You must have seen that the average of ratings is nearly the top, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the score is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to give their opinion when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to set opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

Excellent service and pricing for pet spay/neuter services. An ASPCA facility.
Such a wonderful experience! We brought both of our dogs in for neutering and they treated them like their own. I couldn’t be happier!
Took our kitty to be spayed. They took GREAT care of her and gave us lots of verbal instructions on aftercare. Her incision site is so small if her tummy wasn't shaved there's no way you would ever find it. It's been 2 weeks now and shes bouncing off the walls and never seemed to be in any discomfort at all. Highly recommend this place.
They care about animals.
What a great service! Very helpful to have this inexpensive option to have a pet spayed/neutered. The staff was helpful and caring for the animals. They provided numbers and availability for emergencies resulting from the procedures and were able to cope well with he flow of people and pets.
Wonderful people who took great care of my pets
They did good, were nice but MAKE SURE TO GET THERE EARLY.. The line for neuter/spay appointment drop off/pickups was about 20 people deep the second they opened the doors at 7:30a.m.
They were so nice and have done well with all my animals. I had no problems. Thenk you for offering such low priced services
I took my german pit there a few months ago and everything went well. The price was great and they're super friendly and seem to care a lot! I recommend it to everyone.
Spend the extra money, your pet is your baby. The fact that a dog can come back home with urine and feces up his legs and tail, showing he laid in it is disgusting. I find it appalling that a place associated with the ASPCA, which is supposed to save animals from homes which they're in these situations, allows them to have this happen. A husky being shaved half way up his stomach and into his chest where it could take months for him to be able to go out and exercise after hes clear from surgery, which is extremely unhealthy for a Husky. I would for sure not recommend this place to anyone.
Such a great place. The staff was friendly and compassionate. They took awesome care of my kid's.
This place is amazing! Extremely professional and priced hundreds of dollars less than the vet. (We had two dogs neutered).
Very nice drop off at 8, pick up next am 7:30 As can't afford the reg vet.
The Asheville Humane Alliance has taken exceptional care of our two Huskies who have recently been neutered, given all necessary immunizations and microchips as requested! The staff was absolutely amazing with our nervous dogs while remaining calm and friendly during the entire process! The re-checks are free and they provide a 24 hour emergency hotline incase something happens after the surgery. We had to call the emergency hotline for one of our dogs and they were able to get us a same day re-check appointment and gave helpful suggestions to ease the dog's pain and help keep us calm until the time of the re-check. *TIPS!! = *Surgery is by appointment, so call to get an appointment or create one online. *Arrive early before 8am on the day of your appointment. *There can be traffic anywhere from light to heavy densities the morning of the appointment and since Heritage Drive is off of Leicester Highway, factoring in some extra drive time can be very beneficial! *They require you to fill out paperwork for each pet being seen. The paperwork is on clipboards located outside the door (unless you have already filled it out then you don't need to fill it out again). *People will start a line at the door closer to opening, so again, arriving early is best! *After turning onto Heritage Drive, go to the fork in the road and bear right. Then take the next left for Building A. If you crest the hill and go down, you'll be at Building B and C and they'll just send you back to Building A for check-in. *They have a big sign at the entrance of their parking lot saying leave your pet in your car while checking in. They have that for a good reason! A member of their staff will tell you to go get your pet after checking in.
Everyone was so helpful and very caring. They truly care about your pet. They go above and beyond to ensure that your pet is well taken care of. Very impressed.
Used these guys alot they get the job done and done well
Great people who volunteer their time to help the community meet their needs.
Fantastic in every aspect!
Dr. Montgomery and her support staff bent over backwards from the beginning to the end of our experience at the Humane Alliance today. Our dog, always excitable, was beside himself with fear, and these dear people made calming him and attending to his anxiety their first priority. These are the most compassionate animal medics I have ever encountered in 62 years. Thank you, and God bless you!
Nice people, but they forgot to take out one my dog's balls
Amazing People
We're so grateful to have an affordable way to spay our dog. We saved hundreds of dollars and they did a good job on Lucy's surgery. One thing to consider if your dog is staying overnight, it'll be easier on them if they're "crate trained" before they end up in a crate. I always did crate train before, but this time (with Lucy) we didn't plan to add her to our household. She just fit right in and I forgot to pull the crate out of the shed because she didn't need one. So I totally forgot to get her used to being in a crate. During her stay at Humane Alliance, she rubbed her nose raw on the crate. This is why it's actually nicer when we teach them to feel comfortable in a crate BEFORE a time like this. I feel bad for falling short there and just wanted to use this chance to mention that proper crate training can make our pet feel more comfortable when they go through a stay at the vet, even if you don't really need a crate at home.
very nice and caring people
They answered all questions and took good care of my puppy. I felt a little rushed but there were loads of people coming in and out. Thanks ASPCA.
Thank you Dr Amtower for the training, now I feel much more secure in doing spay and neuter. Your knowledge was invaluable, and the Humane Alliance Ashville, NC has a very high standard and proficiency doing their job. Regards, Dr. Carlos Adrian Carabajal, Miami, Florida.
Absolutely magnificent staff
Great place for your beloved pets and great service
Just had my 6 mos old blind kitty neutered yesterday. All I have to say is the customer service at this clinic was excellent (meaning, they know how to talk to people too as well as take great care of the animals). The cost is honestly reasonable and affordable. The "Before and After Surgery" videos on the website are thorough. This clinic has mastered the check-in and check-out process. They provide a list of vet doctors to use for the follow-up visit. They provide all necessary cautionary steps in writing for the "what ifs". I was worried about leaving him over night, but clearly he was in good hands because he's so relaxed still. It's unfortunate the previous reviewer had a bad kennel cough experience. However, the Spay and Neuter Alliance's website does clearly state that they are not responsible for unrelated infections caught while a pet is being spayed and neutered due to the fact that they assume all pet owners have read and understand the recommended vaccinations section for a pet before surgery. The Bordetella vaccine may have prevented the kennel cough.
I have taken 4 Cats here and they did and excellent job! and they were very nice and compassionate for me.Every time I came and the last one being 3-9-2017. 3 males and 1 female and u can't even tell they had surgery and they did wonderful didn't get sick or have any problems what so ever! And now I don't have to worry about them getting into fights with other cats like u do when they r not neutered Oliver,Otis,Ollie, and Stump! Thank u so much for taking care of them!
Did spay and neuter training here for school rotations; it was a very good learning experience, especially having Dr. Hovis to learn from. Everyone is very nice and compassionate about pet comfort, cleanliness and care.
Good people, good place to bring your pets.
Very nice, and accommodating of my very fearful dog. They did a great job and my dog had no complications from the neutering.
They are awesome with your pets
What they do for animals is AWESOME!!!!
The staff was great and friendly... Loved my experience
I recently brought in two community cats to be neutered. They have lived in my yard for months and although they are timid, they aren't really wild, feral cats. I brought the cats in traps, as told by the staff. They first cat I dropped off on Monday, and I was curious if he would be spending the night in a kennel or if he would be put back in the trap until I picked him up. The next morning when I picked him up he seemed fine so I had no worries about leaving the other cat the same day. On Wednesday morning when I picked up the second cat I had all the answers to my question of the treatment they had while they were there. The trap was lined with newspaper which was SOAKED in urine and feces. There was also a glob of canned cat food in the mix of this. I cannot understand why an animal with a fresh wound from surgery would be forced to lay in its own filth, clearly overnight. Just because this cat was not a 'pet' does not make him any less worthy of compassion and care. I will use my primary vet from now on.
Very friendly girls!
First off I will say that I am grateful for having a low cost spay/neuter program so close to home. That being said, I wouldn't recommend this place. My little boy was finished and eating a snack and fully awake at 3:00 the same day I dropped him off. They refused to let me take him home. Said they wanted to keep an eye on him even though there is nobody at the facility overnight. They are all completely alone. Then the next morning when I came to pick him up he was soaked in urine and feces. They couldn't even be bothered to walk him to go potty or try to clean him up. My pup is potty trained and wouldn't have gone in his crate unless he had been in there for a very long time. You guys can do better and the overnight stay is unnecessary.
Awesome place. Friendly people, very clean. Easy to get to.
I have the greatest respect for what they do for our pets. They are amazing people and there is one there by the name of Nancy S.who should receive a gold star for her work. I wish more people would consider donating to them because of all they do for our community. Everyone I have met are just amazing with their compassion. This is more than a job to them;it is a mission of hope and compassion.
Great work by great people
These folks offer affordable sterilization for dogs and cats. They perform about 200 operations a day; needless to say they've got it down pat. You drop your pet off in the morning and pick them back up early the next day. My regular vet highly recommended them as the best place to go (and 1/3 the cost of getting surgery done at vet).
Couldn't be happier with the service for my grumpy dog, magic puppy! Tech and vet did great and were understanding my dog is vicious around strangers.
Very nice just smelled horrible
Wonderful people & very helpful
They are very efficient and knowledgeable in their profession.
They spayed our kitten and took great care of her!
My heart is filled with gratitude for all staff at the ASPCA. My dog is happy and healthy after his procedure, and my neighborhood and community is strengthened, thanks to the ASPCA's outstanding service. I especially would like to thank Daniela, who worked with me at the front desk from start to finish. It's embarrassing to say publicly, but for the sake of expressing my appreciation fully, you must know that I am currently navigating a couple different challenges and feel as though I am in the midst of a rough patch in life. Daniela may have picked up on that, because she responded as though she was listening, not just with her ears and mind, but with her heart as well. Daniela's keen intuition, love, compassion, knowledge, experience, and high quality of care made a lasting impression. I am proud to go on to rave about the ASPCA and the significant and positive impact she made on my life.
Super staff
These people are absolutely amazing! Asheville is so very blessed to have Humane Alliance. We had special needs and they were extremely understanding. These people are the hero's in this world.
Very caring
Wonderful people! So fortunate to have such a great place caring for the pets in our community.
Folks do a great services to help control the pet population
Good services and friendly people
Great service
Very organized and coordinated well to ensure quick drop off and pick up. All of the staff was very helpful and nice.
Awesome prices, awesome care. It is super busy on the day of but they gave my animals great care. Can't beat the prices. The only think I didn't care for was they said they'd rinse out my cat carrier bc they had an accident but all they did was put newspaper over it. Not very sanitary ride back home for a cat who had surgery(and we live 1 he away). If I'd known, I woulda brought another box. Other than that my animals were great! You can call with any concerns and send pics. I had to do that with one cat. They were prompt to return calls and check back in and tell me what to do for her care I've recommended them several times. You can add in chipping, bail trim, etc etc for low rates or buy cat boxes if needed. My dogs did great there as well. I had 5 animals fixed there....so worth the price and care!
Very friendly and helpful
They were professional and very nice
They take such great care of the animals that are there! Everyone genuinely wants the animals to get thier surgery safely and efficiently. It's also a great place to work!
Nice affordable service. Everyone is very caring for you pets. We had 2 kittens spayed at the same time for the price of one at the vet. They were well cared for and are doing fine.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!!!
An amazing facility.
This place is humane, affordable and friendly. We had many stray cats around our neighborhood that they would allow us to bring by and they would take care of and bring back. The only thing I don't necessarily like is the ear notch they do to identify neutered strays, but it does help with recapture and identification.
Did a great job
This place is a total CLUSTER during drop of and pick up. Completely unorganized, and the dogs have to sit in the vehicle for what can take over an hour. During all the confusion, it didn't help that the older woman behind the counter that I had to deal with was seriously RUDE- she was talking over me when I tried to ask questions then handed me my papers and said step to the other line. To top it off, my dog OBVIOUSLY hadn't been taken out to use the bathroom since the evening before because she couldn't take two steps out the door without having to use the bathroom. I wouldn't Darken the doors of this damn place again if I had to. Take your beloved pet to their own vet. That's what I have done with my dogs before now and that's what I will go back to doing.
Great prices, they do a big service to the community to help keep the animal population down.
Always dose super work every time
Good place to adopt
They did really good with my cat.
They took very good care of my little dog when I took her to be spayed.
They were great with my fur babies.
Got my cat fixed cheaply and they care about customers pets. Don't be late for pickup though!
I took my 6 month old kitten to get spayed here. I couldn't afford what my vet was asking for the same service and I'm really happy with the care that the Humane Alliance gave my kitten. They obviously care a lot for each pet's well-being. My kitten came home safe, clean, and quite happy. Her recovery was quick even though she was in heat during the surgery. I recommend the humane alliance spay/neuter clinic to anyone considering it.
This place is ridiculous. All these rules and regulations. They cancelled my first appointment with no notice till I got there with my cat. Cost more than originally stated it be. Took over an hour of waiting just to drop the cat off. There are better faster places. I won't go here again.
If you need an affordable spay/neuter this is the place.
Very nice facility and the staff is great!
Been going here for 15 years. Genius!
They love your animals as much as you do.
I had my cat neutered and my puppy spayed here. They are very affordable, organized, professional, and I believe they genuinely care about all the animals that come in. My 5 month old puppy is doing so well after surgery and I greatly appreciate all the staff at spay/neuter alliance for taking such good care of her!
Cannot say enough good things about this facility. The staff is kind and caring, and they take wonderful care of all the animal friends. I recently took a kitten there who was thought to have some issues that made her high risk. One of the vets came out and discussed the matter with me, she shared personal stories of her cat who has similar issues, and together we decided we should go ahead with the surgery. The kitten is fine, she is back to leaping out at us from under the chairs, and she's made a perfect recovery!
Helping animals
They took good care of our Ally!!
Great all the way around!!
Awesome staff
This place was fortunate enough to fix my husky. However, when my dog returned home she began to cough more and more. Come to find out she came home with kennel cough. How unsanitary is this place? I’ll never bring another dog of mine to this place.
Spay and neuter our homeless pup and kits
Affordable and friendly!
They took very good care of my German shepherd she was scared but they handled it well
Had to pick up my friends cat who was there getting fixed. They were very helpful and very informative
Awesome!
Picked up our little kitten this morning and I can not sing the praises of all those working at the Humane Alliance loudly enough. Efficient check in and out, excellent pet care and a priceless service at a price that allows every cat or dog to not be spay/neutered, no excuses! Thirteen years ago, I was impressed by their care with my old girl kitty. Obviously, nothing has changed but for the better (much better location now-BTW). We don't take on new pets often, but when even our Vet recommends the Humane Alliance, you know they are good people!! Thank you HA for all you do!!
Great work on surgeries, clean facility, friendly, helpful, and kind staff... Great place!!
Exceptional staff. A great learning environment.
35 for spay and neuter. Get voucher from humane Society for the $35
Great organization.
We took our male and female today. The staff was incredibly thoughtful, knowledgeable, respectful and the facility was spotless. They went above and beyond their duty and kept us up to date on our furbabies through everything. We honestly can't say enough about how great this place is. We'd go back to them without hesitation. Our Sassy has seizures and the folks here treated her and Cletus like royalty. The love and hugs and kisses they gave them blew me away. They were super nice to me and Nathan. I'm so grateful for these people. Their love of dogs and cats are extroidinary. Thanks for being the best.
I went there for training as an RVT. They are wonderful, high quality, high volume spay and neuter clinic that cares about you and your pet
Wonderful people
Awesome service
They wanted me to pay for everything though it was supposed to Be a free Charity.
Great people. You can tell they care.
I love this place. Love to go play with the animals. Would take EVERYONE home if I could
We chose to have our kitten neutered at the humane alliance because of the lower price than our regular vet. We figured it had to be good since it's a part of the ASPCA. The check in process is pretty chaotic. They tell you to pick your pet up by 7:30 the next morning. I got there at 7:20 and they don't even open until 7:30 and didn't start bringing out pets until around 7:40. The day after I brought him home I noticed his incision was bleeding and took him back. They said everything was fine and it might bleed some. They have me an e collar to keep him from licking it. I have kept the collar on him and kept him calm and confined in a smaller room. Last night he was still bleeding some and threw up. I took him back this morning and they say nothing is wrong with him. They said his incision was closed so he was fine. When I came home from work, he had thrown up again and was still bleeding, even though I once again kept him confined with the e collar. I'm taking him to my vet tomorrow since they will not listen to me that something is wrong and brush me off. Do yourself a favor and take them to your regular vet. It's worth the extra money.
This clinic is efficient and a great service. The prices are great. The after-hours/weekend hotline is an excellent benefit to having your animals spayed and neutered here.
(Translated by Google) Very good attention (Original) Muy buena atención
Friendly helpful
Love them
Fabulous employees. Great environment
Great work! Sad for the loss of the community cat program, but I'm sure ASPCA will reevaluate and bring the program back.
great place
Took my German Shepherd to be fixed they did excellent service the dog was not too happy but I would recommend this place tell anyone that needs help with their dog cats pigglets or any other animals the Personnel were great and very friendly
Excellent facility, very modern and extremely organized and well-run. I brought two young cats in for neuter
This is an outstanding establishment. I am very grateful for having access to it for my dog's spay and neuter needs. They do a wonderful job for Western North Carolina. I scheduled my Great Dane, Malachi's appointment online. It was really simple to do. They sent me an email to confirm my appointment. Their website has very clear instructions about what needs to be done prior to the surgery, what to expect while the animal is at the clinic, and what to do after being brought home. In Malachi's case, we did have a problem after we brought him home. Three days after surgery, Malachi licked his incision, causing it to reopen, risking infection. I called the Humane Alliance to ask what I should do. They said that I should bring him in. I did just that, of course. After checking him out, they sent us home with an Elizabethan collar, three days of a pain/anti-inflammatory medicine and ten days of antibiotics. We also had to start the ten days of confinement all over again, uuuggh! Oh well. It is what it is. While we were at the Humane Alliance, both times, we were greeted by very friendly, knowledgeable, professional staff members. We were treated very well. If the person I was talking to didn't know the answer to my question, they found someone who could. All of my questions were answered in a manner that I could understand. I was treated with dignity and respect. I can't say enough good things about the Humane Alliance. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I also encourage anyone with an unaltered pet to take advantage of their services. It's our responsibility to make sure that no unplanned puppies or kittens are brought into the world. The shelters are full of them already. If you find my review helpful, please press the little hand underneath. Thank you so much!
Good barbers, very friendly.
A more affordable route to neutering and spaying your pets. They care about animals.
They serve a purpose. But too crowded the day I went
Get my puppies shots in surgery for cheap and all the people that work there love their job. My little girl is now 2 years old and we are going back for her checkups there as well
Kind, courteous, and helpful!
Took my English bulldog to be fixed and Dr. said it would be safer for her to be done at local office as this type of dog needs more care than assembly line spay. They could of took my money and took a chance on my dog but they care for these animals and their owners. Now just waiting on my refund on my CC.
Had my kitten spayed here for $25. Also tried the facility. Professional, clean clinic with very affordable prices
NO ONE is there overnight to monitor if your animal has a reaction...this is clearly not in the best interest of your animal..Was told my cat may have surgery late in the day(they have no clue) but whole reasoning is that they want them to wake up--someone may or may not be present.. .will NOT let you pick your animal up same day..DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE..
Have taken two of my babies here, great cost efficient care
Had both of my pups spayed. They took excellent care of them.
Needed 2 kittens fixed in a hurry. Waiting list was long but had it done in 3 days. Everyone was so nice.
I have been a veterinary employee for the better part of my adult life, 6 years of which has been here in WNC. I have adamantly recommended the services of Asheville Humane Alliance for many years, as I do believe them to be a highly professional and capable facility. This is no longer the case. Due to the recent mishandling of my dog's spay procedure (*prior* to adoption) I will no longer be recommending Asheville Humane as a low-cost option for clients pursuing spay/neuter surgery. I STRONGLY encourage pet owners to seek surgical care elsewhere. My dog received close to an estimated $1500-$2000 in life-saving procedures at Junaluska Animal Hospital/Haywood Animal Emergency clinic to correct a stump pyometra that was left behind by surgeons at Asheville Humane Alliance at the time of the spay. As an industry courtesy, I attempted to call and inform Humane Alliance of the surgical complications and simply asked to speak with a member of the medical team. It took three phone calls and several polite messages during my work day to even be contacted. The doctor who eventually called me was condescending and quite the opposite of compassionate or helpful. I wish I'd never called, honestly. This experience has been heart-wrenching for me, to watch my 10 y/o dog suffer as a result of a high-risk surgery that should've been prioritized with extra surgical time or referred to a day practice. It is extremely frustrating and frankly quite tacky the way this was handled. I rarely write negative reviews but hope that others will see this and find it helpful. I also feel as though I've been given no choice but to share my experience, since Humane Alliance has made no attempt whatsoever to rectify this horrible experience. I'm not here to shame hard-working people or go after the money I am rightly owed for *fixing their mistake.* I just wanted HA to know, from one highly capable medical team to another, that they messed this one up and my dog almost died as a result. Pet owners, PLEASE consider paying the additional cost to have your pet spayed or neutered at a local, reputable hospital. There are dozens here and the REASON WE CHARGE MORE MONEY is so that your pet's surgery is the ONLY priority at the time it is done. The cost comes from paying veterinarians, technicians and hospital staff to care for YOUR pet alone, fill & administer pain medication (which they do NOT send home from HA) and monitor your pet while he/she recovers. These steps are vital in a successful recovery from what SHOULD be seen as a major medical procedure, not a "quick" spay or neuter. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. If I had had an option I would never have allowed my sweet old hound dog to be spayed by HA. Best of luck.
This a wonderful place and is a blessing to this area. Our babies were given 5 star treatment during their stay. When I called to check on them they were extremely nice, professional, and informative. I highly recommend them if you need to get your pet fixed. Thank you ASPCA. Kittie, Princess, Buddha, and Chef thank you as well!
This place is wonderful. Helpful and informative.
Great
Personable and educated!
Awesome staff...
I strongly recommend using your personal Vet for these services. Cheap, yes. Quality after-care, definitely NOT!!!
friendly and informative .. very busy place. But everything went smoothly. Had to leave him overnight. When I picked him up, I could tell that he was well taken care of. He was not afraid at all.
Great folks doing great things
