The entire staff is outstanding. Our Pomeranian was evaluated by Dr. Liff in a highly professional and compassionate manner. Sadly, several days later, we had to return several days later to have him euthanized because his condition had worsened. We returned this week with our Yorkshire Terrier and saw Dr. Schechter who was also excellent. We received medication for two of his age-related chronic health issues. We also had his nails clipped by a staff member while we were there. We highly recommend this veterinary practice based on these two separate experiences.

Both of my dogs were not freaked out entering this office because there is absolutely no smell. They were actually happy to be there and were eating treats and it is the most amazing place. Everybody was extremely pleasant and nice. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. What a pleasure to have this veterinarian in my neighborhood

This is a great vet. I don't know about $$ in comparison to other places but the staff and the vets are very present, interested and dedicated to your pet. They've been very good at reaching out and checking up on my pup after any procedure so very happy with them.

I just got a puppy for the first time and everyone was so incredibly helpful. They gave advice and shared what was optional and really important versus what was actually optional. They weren’t condescending about my dumb questions and weren’t pushing any sort of upselling adgenda like I’ve heard other planes do. Dr. Alex was very nice and thourough. The office staff was very kind and got back to me extremely quickly (even called to check up on him the next day). Best of all, the nurse took the time to walk me through what the next year is going to look like, how to best take care of my pup at home and even recommended specific insurance plans (even outside of the ones partnered with the vet). They are a little pricy but not much more than everything else I’ve researched. To me it’s worth knowing that I will get quick responses, they are open at continent times, I’ll have as much help as I need, and they’ll answer all my insane questions with a smile. P.S. I don’t write reviews ever but they were SO amazing with me and my pup Ollie that I wanted to share.

I have been a client of Pure Paws Hell’s Kitchen from the day they opened. They are the best ! I had an ex feral Nellie who had ongoing health issues and they did their best but when it became clear there was no option other than to let her go peacefully to sleep- Dr Alex came to my apartment to let her go with minimal stress and he was so compassionate. During her treatment Dr Liff was honest and kept it realistic - this is what you need. Since then I have adopted another rescue Ed who is old at 15 and had some health issues which I knew existed - Dr Liff and Dr Alex have been fantastic as we try best realistic options but his welfare and quality of life is paramount and that is their focus ! Lucky my other ragdoll rescue only needs check ups The team are great at communications and respond to emails if I’m worried. Great service and as a pet owner , they don’t pressure unnecessary tests on you and explain why they could be required but they give you the options first. Also my Ed hates medications so in conjunction with Dr Liff - we have liquid medication and chicken flavor - it’s a life saver !!! In addition they do great work with rescue groups. We are lucky to have them in our hood ! I have recommended numerous people to them and not because you get a $75 credit to your account which is nice but not the reason. Actually new clients also get this credit for first exam which is cool.

Dr. Liff and her staff have been amazing. She's been terrific with our cat and presents upfront options about testing as she knows bills can add up. She takes her time to explain things and to be available for all questions even after you've left. Her staff is patient, helpful, and friendly. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the area.

When my chow chow needed dental work, an exhaustive search of vets in Manhattan led me to Pure Paws -- fortunately 2 blocks from our apartment! Like most pet owners, the thought of my guy in pain (or the possibility of disease/illness from inaction) had me more than a little upset. The staff facilitated all my questions, set me up with an appointment within a day. My concerns were alleviated when Dr. Liff and her staff soothed my nerves and took such good care of Sunny that we are happy to call Pure Paws our new vet home! The knowledge, care and concern as well as follow-up are second to none. Welcome to HK, Dr. Liff. We look forward to a long relationship!

Bring your pet here! My dog has belonged to 3 vets in manhattan and I was unhappy with all of them (mainly high cost and not nice staff/dr's). I found Pure Paws by chance and I could not be happier. Between all the doctors, techs and the front desk - it's always a pleasure bringing my dog here. They treat him very well and actually CARE. The other reviews about high cost are not true... have those people ever been to another vet?! OH.. and they run through the charges with you before they work on your pet, so you can say yay or nay to any service/product that you don't want to be charged for. OH and they are open Sat and Sun!!

Alex is great, but this review is for Dr. Lippman. My dog's name was spelled incorrectly on his pawprint, the last memory I have of him. Her voice seemed very insensitive throughout the process. I would recommend Alex but avoid Lippman.

I was using a different vet for my new puppy before switching over to Pure Paws. I am so glad I switched! Dr. Liff is great! She is very caring and thorough. She responds to emails quickly and doesn't seem bothered by my never ending questions. My pup loves her. I have been to the office twice already, once for a visit and the second time to get my pup spayed. Both times everyone was very professional, helpful, and kind. They are a bit expensive, but I honestly have no problem spending a little more to get great care for my pet.

This place is phenomenal. All the doctors and staff are great with our hot mess of a dog. Importantly, they are very upfront and honest about treatment options. We've lived in the area a few years and have had plenty of visits unfortunately. There were times when we thought we'd spend a fortune and only spent a small fortune (which, for an English bulldog is a small miracle). They took time to explain why procedures and medications were recommended including which ones were critical and options to try home remedies while watching symptoms. Overall, great people and place

He answered every question we had, and made her so relaxed in a situation she could easily freak out in! They even called the next day to check how she was doing after her vaccines. I think I have the only dog in the world who actively pulls to try to go *to* the vet. I have no doubt that Dr. Liff and the staff at Pure Paws are a big part of that. They started out caring for our cat when we moved up to NYC and we continued to have them care for our puppy when we brought her home. We’ve been there both for emergencies, like when the puppy fell off the step and hurt her paw, and routine care. They are fast, helpful, and work hard to save us money where they can. I’ve had other vets recommended to me and even tried one of them once, but didn’t have nearly the same great experience. I’m pretty inclined to stay loyal to pure paws.

I've just begun going to Pure Paws. Dr. Liff is terrific. I have adopted 3 kittens and their mom and our littlest girl was sick for a few weeks and Dr. Liff was kind and efficient and professional and down to earth. Dr. Alex also was very professional and caring. Monica, at the front desk is such an asset to the business. She's kind and as the others are, too, so very down to earth. She loves the kitties when I bring them in and we share stories. And there are more folks there that I've not fully gotten their names. One as good natured as the next. It has been a very positive experience. I've never liked going to the vets, but they make you feel safe. Great experience.

Before I knew what the word meant, I accepted mother & daughter 'feral' cats. The daughter came with the name Tornado. She was unadoptable, untouchable, uncapturable & flew around like a circus performer. Hissing & growling were also one of her main talents! For years I would have to trick her with food in her carrier to get her to the vet. Upsetting to us both. She suddenly in the last two weeks would not eat. Rapid weight loss. Because I am in the neighborhood - these amazing people from Pure Paws came to my apt. & picked her up for treatment. They gave her 48 hours to respond to treatment. Today, the vet Dr. Liff, explained they could do an ultra sound but it would be expensive & truthfull could not change the out come. I could stay with her & have time with her. Everyone at the clinic has the right amount of strength & compassion. They are there to help pets & humans!! At least I know I have them to count on with the care of Purrlie May Baileys' Mom!! Bless them!!' ❤️

The receptionists are really nice but this clinic is a money pit. First of all, they will basically tell you that you need this that and the third, not give you prices, then present you with a bill as you are walking out. They will try to put your dog on a pretty heavy vaccine schedule and give you stuff you don't ask for then charge you. I went in with my pup and they saw he was due for flea tick and heartworm (in the dead of winter in NYC) and said, "We will give you some of that, too since you're up for it." Was charged FORTY dollars for one months dose, and when I got home, I saw the Credelio they gave me said "Enjoy your free sample" on it. Nice so you're selling your samples. I will never come back here. Only giving two stars because it's a pretty clean clinic that seems well organized and the vet isn't as condescending as most others are.

Had a great experience here. Our cat was diagnosed quickly and doctor Liff fielded our questions in a very friendly way. They were firm but gentle with our cat, which was what he needed. He seems better already, a day later, and their availability to follow-up emails is greatly appreciated. The only con is the price. Prepare your pennies, but then again this is Manhattan, and they're paying Manhattan rent and salaries, so I understand.

I took my dog to see Dr. Liff for a second opinion. She has been so knowledgeable and detailed with the treatment of my dogs condition that we have made her our primary vet. She has helped us with surgical references, dietary concerns and post surgical care. There is almost no wait time, meds are quickly ordered and she and her staff are super friendly. I have nothing negative to say about this veterinary office. Two thumbs up!

New clinic - all the staff love your pets. The Dr. was attentive and had a holistic viewpoint - drugs as a LAST resort. Other more expensive treatments as a LAST resort. My kitty bitched and moaned all the way there and back, but totally relaxed at the clinic itself and wallowed in all the attention. AND when the Dr. discovered nothing major wrong, said "I'm very happy!" This kind of attitude is worth every penny.
