Maximus is 11 years old, diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy 10 months ago. He will eventually be paralyzed in both legs. After only one week with Dr. Levy, I noticed a significant increase in energy. He responded very differently to Dr. Levy's acupuncture than the previous vet. With increased energy came happier mood and then he gained more movement in his right leg! This video was his first hike on the wheelchair; his back leg was moving so much - I cried! Dr. Levy is truly gifted and the kindest man. He has brought hope into our lives!
Dr. Jeff is fantastic & I cannot recommend him enough. My pup Preston has had arthritis for a few years now - he was on prescription anti-inflammatories, but his joint pain seemed to get progressively worse...Enter Dr. Jeff's acupuncture treatments. I could tell a difference in his energy level after the first session, but it's really been pretty outrageous to see the physical changes, too. He's stopped limping, wants to play with other dogs again, and has started chasing his tail & bringing his toys over to play catch. (All things he'd seemingly lost interest in when he was in pain) Can't recommend enough
Best vet ever!
Dr Jeff has completely cured my dog. She is no longer anxious and her joints are feeling much better. He has flexible scheduling. I definitely recommend him!
Dr. Levy comes to our home and treats both of our 10 yr old Borzoi girls with acupuncture and tender loving care. The results have been very favorable and we recommend him highly. We see an increase in flexibility, mobility, and pain remission for the arthritis in the rear quarters.
We have an older Shepherd with some back leg and hip muscle and strength issues and Dr Jeff has been lovely to work with! He has helped our beloved doggie regain some of that back leg control and she always is excited to see Dr. Jeff and no longer even needs a lot of treats to stay still as she really enjoys the helpful acupuncture sessions. Thank you Dr. Jeff!
Dr. Jeff has been treating our 12-year old golden retriever who was having arthritic back legs. Since he's been coming, our dog is SO much better, looks forward to his visits, greets him with a wagging tail. Dr. Jeff is caring, thoughtful, articulate, and FUN! Our conversations with him, in both English and his fluent Italian, make our dog's acupuncture treatments interesting for us, too. He has a wonderful sense of humor. A GREAT vet! (BTW, his Chinese isn't bad, either!)
We have an older dog with severe arthritis and we finally decided a year ago to try acupuncture as a supplemental treatment. Dr Levy came highly recommended by a few of our neighborhood dog parents and we are so happy we found him. He is highly experienced and very gentle with our dog and an absolute pleasure to be around during the treatment. Even if our dog has not miraculously reverted to his pre-arthritis state, we have managed to keep him from deteriorating and I believe Dr Levy's help has been an essential component. If nothing else, our dog loves getting the actual treatment, after which he is always relaxed and comfortable. I cannot recommend Dr Levy enough!
Dr Levy has been treating my senior shepherd mix for about 6 months, my dog has improved mobility and a better quality of life due to acupuncture. Thanks Dr Levy!
Dr. Levy was a wonderful help in my dog's last days. He gave her acupuncture which helped her quite a bit and was always able to get on the phone with us when we had an emergency. I highly recommend him to anyone whose pet may be having health issues and I only wish I had found him sooner.
Dr. Jeff has been treating our 12-year-old dog for the last few months, since she first started really slowing down with a neurodegenerative disease. I already was beyond happy with how he'd helped her; the treatments gave her more energy, she stumbled less, was more mobile. But it really blew my mind when a few weeks ago, she got really sick from an infection, and we thought it was her last day. Dr. Jeff gave her acupuncture, and when she woke the next day, we had our dog back. She was up, eating, following us around, interested in everything. He's terrific, and the treatments have really helped her.
We reached out to Dr. Jeff Levy when our 17 year old Siamese cat was recovering from his kidney surgery. He was already in the final stages of kidney disease and we knew he didn't have much time left. While we were using conventional medicine to treat his disease, we wanted to try holistic methods to improve his health and ensure he had a comfortable quality of life. Dr. Levy was very responsive, caring and gentle with our cat. After the second treatment of acupuncture we noticed that our cat was able to walk to his litter box and had regained strength in his hind legs. We believe the acupuncture treatments helped prolong our cat's life and gave us the extra precious time we needed with our beautiful feline son. After each treatment we noticed our cat's energy was more active and he started to eat on his own. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to our beloved cat but we know that Dr. Levy's treatments provided him comfort during the final weeks of his life. We are also grateful for Dr. Levy's compassion after our cat passed. Our experience with Dr. Levy has made us staunch believers of holistic veterinarian medicine. We highly recommend him.
Dr. Jeff Levy is really great with our Boxer Jacques. Jacques is old and was having a lot of trouble with our 4th floor walk-up and marble stairs. Both because of traction and the lack of padding. We were hoping for a little relief on the stairs which we got after the first in home acupuncture appointment with Dr. Levy. The great news is that not only did he continue to get better with walking up, but it was clear that Jacques was generally feeling a little more energetic and responsive than he had previous to his acupuncture. I'm a big believer in acupuncture for myself, but I was a little weary of how well the dog would take being poked at... On the first visit Dr. Levy lightly tapped in two needles and our dog was down and napping for the whole session. Highly recommended.
Herbie loves his time with Dr. Jeff as do I. He has seen significant improvement in his walking. When we started approx 3 months ago (5 sessions) he was shaking and his legs were actually falling out from under him. Now he is overall much more confortable sitting / standing (I can tell from his noises and body position) and very little to no shaking. My only regret is that I waited so long to call Dr. Jeff. We are so blessed to have found Dr. Jeff. His treatments are non invasive and I can tell hernie enjoys the sessions as he is very relaxed during and after.
so helpful, amazing service !!!!!!!
We had an 11-year-old Chihuahua Pomeranian mix named Poncho that was very healthy before I took him to the Veterinarian in Michigan to get his Rabies Vaccination. That was in February of 2017. From that point on his health started to decline. We took him back to the Imlay City Vet because he was not eating and was acting Lethargic. The doctor said he had Pancreatitis caused by the food he was eating. She would not admit that the Rabies vaccine could have something to do with his condition. She told us that he needed to be on fluids and that we could leave him there but no one would be there to watch him at night. We did not think he should be alone so, that evening we took him to the Wilson Vet Hospital in Romeo. They did blood work on him and said that he was in complete kidney failure NOT Pancreatitis. Doctor Wilson told us we should just “put him down” (So Cold Hearted) because we would need to give him fluids at home and we would not be able to do it because he was too mean. If the Doctor saying that did not wrench our hearts enough, while he was in there one of the interns fractured Poncho’s jaw trying to give him oral medicine. No one at the Wilson Veterinary Hospital apologized or claimed responsibility for what happened to his jaw. They did do x-rays on his jaw free but Geez that is the least they could do. They charged us for the rest of it, though, around $700.00. We had to give him fluids through a syringe every day for the rest of his life to keep him hydrated and to keep his kidneys from working as good as they could. There is a test that the Veterinarians do not to tell you about, it is a called Titer (Tighter) test. It measures your pet’s immune system level. A rabies shot is a booster shot that boosts your pet’s immune system. Every 3 years your pet is supposed to get this shot but sometimes this shot is in their system for 7 to 10 years. Therefore, your pet should not need a shot. Unless the Titer (Tighter) test is done, you never know what their immune system level is and unless you know that, the Vet will give them a booster weather they need it or not. I never knew about the Titer test. The Vets never told me about it and I think if Poncho would have had it, it would have saved his life. The shot he got was directly responsible for his death. I blame the Veterinarian’s for not giving us the option to get this Titer (Tighter) test. He was too small of an animal to have all those vaccinations in him. Poncho was like a baby to us and our hearts are broken because he is gone. We lost him August 14, 2017. A part of us is gone forever. Please, if you love your pets, do not believe that you have to give your pets these vaccinations every year or 3 years. Have the Vets give them a Titer (Tighter) test to see if they need them. Go on the Internet, look it up, and be informed. It has been almost 4 months this we lost Poncho and the pain and hurt is still here. I confronted the Imlay City Vet about the Titer test and they told me “The State doesn’t recognize the Titer Test”. OMG, they are more concerned about what the State of Michigan thinks than the health of our pets. The only thing they told me after asking about the Titer Test and how the Rabies booster destroyed his kidneys was, “He had weak kidneys”, unbelievable. No compassion, No responsibility for what happened to him. My wife has just learned of two more pet owners that lost their pet or had them harmed because of this Vet. One said the vet killed their pet but WE don’t know why yet and the other said that they took their dog in because it had a haze over its eyes. The Vet refused to see the dog and by the time they got him into another vet, he was blind. We do not need Vets like this taking care of our pets.
