This team consistently goes above-and beyond... I found Dr. G through Kitty Kind, an animal rescue organization he works with. I started fostering-to-adopt my cat almost two years ago. Shortly after I took her in, she developed ear and then eye issues. Dr. G worked hard to figure out what was going on. She still has issues but Dr. G and his staff continue to go above-and-beyond in caring for her and educating me as a first-time pet owner. When Chloe needed her ears cleaned, Dr. G personally attended to her and allowed me to bring her back for drops since I couldn't hold on to her to do it myself. Now when I bring her in to get her nails clipped (fast, safe and reasonable BTW), they check her ears and eyes and fix her up if needed. I truly don't know what I would do without this team. Dr. G can occasionally be a little gruff but he is incredibly accomplished and truly cares about the pets. His staff is great too and answers any questions. I highly recommend their wonderful care.

If I could give a 0 I would. I don't know where to begin. A cat had been dumped into a Park that I frequently go to in Riverdale. This cat was in bad condition (v matted fur) underweight and severely neglected. Someone I know from rescue insisted that I take her to this Vet for an evaluation and testing. As soon as I came in, Dr. G questioned why I'm not using a Vet in Riverdale and he's getting ready to go to conference. He immediately noticed that the cat was severely matted and underweight as well as hungry. He administered blood for testing as well as FELV & feline leukemia (negative). He did not provide a full examination with the cat but stressed that the cat needs grooming. I had said to him, aren't you going to give her give her an antibiotic as she could be ill. He then gave her Covinia antibiotic (lasting 2 weeks). This was on 9/10. I brought the cat home and she started to eat like a champ! I found a groomer - they cried as this cat was down to the bones! The blood test results came back the following week and a note stated that "everything is good except a possible infection" and showing a high white cell blood count. The note also indicated she is ready for adoption (really?) There was no prescription rendered for any antibiotics - remember the Covinia was only to last for 2 weeks and this cat's blood analysis was coming up with 1/3 abnormal laboratory values as well as 2 of them being critical. Her white blood count was double the normal high range and her kidney function was abnormal and should have been attended to ASAP (a consult with a specialist would have been the next step). This Vet is not a specialist and could not evaluate the blood properly and provided an incorrect diagnosis. The blood testing facility had recommended a urinalysis to further clarify the kidney problems detected in the blood test. Why wasn't this done as well as an Xray to see what is going on? Long story short, after the 2 week period ended of the Covinia, this cat took a complete turn for the worst and died! This cat could have had a chance if the proper meds had been prescribed or a recommendation to a specialist for a consult. I've never seen negligence like this! How could a Vet review such abnormal values and not take action? The lack of focus and interest of this cat was reprehensible. Most competent Vets (when they see these abnormal blood values) show immediate concern. This Vet was more interested in making sure the cat was groomed as well as his upcoming conference (coincidentally the conference was on critical care) which this Vet badly needs to be educated in. I would never recommend anyone to bring a sick or critically ill animal to this place. Perhaps this Vet is good at basic vaccinations and wellness exams etc. Stay clear. Total lack of responsibility and interest and this Vet should have known this cat was in critical condition based on the blood test. If he had known the timing was not good with this cat (his conference), then there should have been an immediate recommendation to a referring specialist at a critical care center such a Blue Pearl or Animal Medical Center. This has got to be the very worst Vet I have ever come across in my 40 years of animal ownership - totally clueless.

- Over an hour to get 3 vaccines for my dog during the first appointment on a weekday morning - Big push on extraneous vaccines and fecal tests - Vet must have been in a bad mood because his communication was abrupt and confrontational - Vet techs were really great

I've been coming to this vet clinic for about a year. They treated my rescue for heart worm and Dr. G and all the techs were wonderful. They have limited hours, but the care is great and the staff are kind and friendly!

- went there to have my pets ready to travel on a plane but they never updated on the process after my visit so I switched to a different, more professional vet (still got charged a ridiculous amount even though they did nothing lol) - vet techs are super nice but the vet is ignorant and rude (a little racist too) - insisted on getting my pets unnecessary shots that weren't due for few months

The best vet in the city. I love Dr. G and his practice. They are kind, responsive and professional. The best.

Dr Gagliardi may sometimes have a brusque manner, but his knowledge and devotion to your pets are second to none. His staff are kind, courteous, professional, and the place is immaculately clean. This vet saved my cat's life more than once with early diagnosis and treatment. They also checked in the day after procedures to make sure all was OK, and provided dietary recommendations and other valuable information to keep my cats healthy. Both of mine lived to 19+ yrs, and when it was tragically time to let them go. Dr. Gagliardi and his staff helped do so with immense gentleness and compassion. I am deeply grateful to them and would highly recommend them.

Dr. G can seem a bit abrasive at first but he's very smart and has your pet's best interest. I have a pet with a chronic illness and he's been treating him for years. He really improved the quality of life for my pet. Once he sees that you're willing to go the extra mile for your pets' health he really warms up to you.

Best vet ever. I have been taking my dog there for 15 years. He met her as a puppy and now she is an “old lady”. I have met many vets in my life but no one as good as him. He has an intuitive touch, my dog always felt much better after visiting him. I highly recommend him - and his charges are very reasonable for NYC.

Will be going somewhere else. This vet is just too “crabby” in nature. Just not nice.

Hands down the best vet clinic in NYC. I cannot recommend Dr. Gagliardi and his team highly enough. We have been taking our dog here since he was a puppy (he's now 1) and they've always gone above and beyond - calling us after hours to give test results, answering emails on a Sunday when they are closed, offering advice if there are no appointments and fitting our dog in urgently if we really need to be there. Dr. Gagliardi is no bull****. He is honest and upfront, and his priority is your pet. He is not afraid to tell you "stop worrying" if you are overreacting, or ordering x-rays to be on the safe side. He has also ALWAYS been right in his diagnoses and recovery/treatment plans which is a huge testament to his skill and talent IMO. I've recommended Cooper Square to friends with new pets and old and all have come back and thanked me/made the switch. Love these guys!

I've been to almost every animal hospital in the city. I will only take my pets here. They are amazing, brilliant at diagnosis and actually do what's best for your animal & will not try to fleece you.
