I have been to this vet several times. Every time I would have a concern he would dismiss it and instead sell me some pills for something else I never needed. He is only interested in charging you for things you do not need and never asked for. Today I stupidly had gone back because my dog needed a vaccine, only to have my dog scratched by his cat that he always has there. DO NOT take your pet to this vet. He will rob you blind and never address your concerns.

One of my cats has a bit of a temper which, at other vet offices, has led to some less-than-gentle care. Dr. Fisch is always kind, gentle, and completely calm. I trust his judgement completely. His office isn't fancy and his focus is not on schmoozing with people - he's all about the animals. (Honestly, all I care about is getting the best care at a price that's not unreasonable.) Highly, highly recommended.

Who is writing these reviews? Are you serious? How is this man practicing? Besides getting talked down to, if at all, this man takes the meaning of, "practicing" medicine to a whole new level...very low! I suggested a thyroid issue for over a year and Dr. Fisch kept basically yelling at me for a, "wrong" diagnosis, that I was feeding my dog too much and not exercising it. Hogwash!! When Dr. Fisch was away an openminded, caring, and smart vet filled in and said, "Why don't we do some simple blood work?" Music to my ears. I was about to leave this terrible man anyway. Sure enough, chronic thyroid and my dog has had major issues ever since. Dr. Fisch not only talks down to you, he doesn't do his job as an objective clinician. Review other more realistic reviews on other reputable sites...you shall see. Stay away.

I've been bringing my 2 cats here for 13 years, and the care is always excellent. I wouldn't go any where else! Some people think Dr. Fisch isn't warm and fuzzy enough with people. (It's New York people; I don't have the time or patience for unnecessary coddling.) He cares about the animals, he is thorough, he is knowledgable and he is efficient. I've had a couple of serious situations and Dr. Fisch's calm demeanor was as important for me as for my cat--actually more so for keeping me calm. I will also add that I've never felt that any unnecessary procedures were recommended, and I have always felt that my cats received exactly the care they needed. They are very happy and healthy senior cats. After moving out of the neighborhood, we got an apartment that allows dogs. We added a puppy to our family, and I only trusted Dr. Fisch for her spaying. There's a vet across the street from my building, but Dr. Fisch is worth the cab ride!

When my husband and I got our first dog, we were very excited to take her to Dr. Fischer for a checkup. However, his bedside manner was brusque and he spoke condescendingly to us, often ignoring our questions and snapping when our paperwork wasn't in order (after re-naming our dog, there was some miscommunication on the forms over names. Nonetheless, his attitude was completely unnecessary). Since then, we have returned to Dr. Fischer twice more. Each and every time, he has been remarkably rude, failed to keep appointment times and then rushed us when we finally saw him. Overall, my husband and I got the strong impression he simply didn't care about our dog or keeping our business. I am leaving two stars because the front desk staff was well-organized and his assistant was very kind. However, I cannot recommend the vet himself.

The prices here are outrageous. The reviews are good because they are nice people.. but I really question how nice they truly are when they charge so much for simple procedures. My cat had an issue that was recurring. When we took her to the vet in brooklyn we paid $200 to get her help. This place wanted to charge me --$500--. They charged me $90 just to look at her. I was shocked at how much they were willing to price gouge me. I ended up getting antibiotics for her and leaving without getting the procedure done. I was unemployed when this happened so I couldnt afford to take her anywhere else because I spent $120 on this visit and antibiotics/pain meds.. I had to just take her home in pain. I have to find a new vet to take her to as she still has the issue.. this time I will ask for prices BEFORE taking her in somewhere. Even of you're super rich it's pretty messed up to pay 2 1/2 times the normal price for the same procedure you could get elsewhere.

I love Dr. Fisch and his staff. Literally love them. He has been our vet since the early 90s. No nonsense, honest, compassionate and fair. He has been with me through three cats and a dog. I don't even live close and every visit involves cab rides, but he is my guy.

Been using Clinton Vet since the day it opened. The staff is warm, caring and skilled. And Dr Fisch is compassionate and knowledgeable. I think he prefers animals to people, but that isn't a bad thing for a vet. I find him realistic in his assessments.

I've been taking my dog Curtis to Dr. Fisch for 11 years now and have had good visits each time (this includes the time he had to perform a gastronomy on Curtis after he swallowed a toy). He's thorough, attentive and experienced. Dr. Fisch and his staff have always been courteous and treated us with respect and concern. That being said, if you're looking for someone to gush over your pet and coddle them as much as you do, you might find Dr. Fisch does not fit that bill. He's matter-of-fact and does not sugar-coat anything. Personally, I prefer this approach. It's like going to a fancy spa to get a 60 minute massage vs. going to a certified, but less frills type place to get the exact same thing. Some people prefer the spa-like atmosphere and Enya on in the background. I prefer being easily accommodated and paying a bit less to get the same treatment.

He is so damn rude, impatient and lacks interpersonal communication skills. Someone on this review thread mentioned something strange about how so many people here are giving positive reviews. It's a big contrast to the huge amount of negative reviews and complains on Yelp and other places.

My little girl's very first vet visit was to Jeff Fisch and that is the ONLY vet that she has ever been to. I knew immediately that his only concern was what was best for my baby. She knew it too!!!! She trust him I think even more than she trust me….. she certainly won't let me clean her ears… only "Uncle Jeff" . And if I stop in because she needs it done he will always accomodate me. The one time she needed a surgical procedure done that he recommended a specialist for (no ego there!) he called the hospital to check on her several times. Also his entire staff is a pleasure to deal with. I can't imagine going anywhere other than Clinton Veterinary Center.

My daughter and I are grateful that we met Dr. Fish and his staff. The love of our lives, our cat, was very sick and was not properly diagnosed/treated by another vet and we were very upset because something was wrong and we were desperate to get her help. Dr. Fish immediately diagnosed her and found out what was wrong before doing any tests. After the tests results came back, Dr. Fish was right on with his findings. Dr. Fish is very experienced, knowledgeable, kind and intuitive. He explains your options very clearly. You can call him any day and he is always available to talk to. Needless to say, finding people like him in New York City is a true miracle. We highly recommend him.
