REVIEWS OF BluePearl Pet Hospital IN New York

I took my Dog here for emergency stitches in a rush after an accident. When i got there they took him downstairs to examine him and give him an x-ray. But after reading all the horrible reviews I was terrified and asked to have my dog back so I can take him somewhere else nearby, as long as moving him would not put him at risk. I took him to another vet a few blocks away, and when the vet called Blue Pearl to ask them to send over the X-Rays, Blue Pearl then made some extravagant lie saying the x-rays that they spoke to me about were actually for another dog, and refused to send them over. I had a short experience with Blue Pearl, and that was enough to show me how dishonest and shady these people are. They do no have your pets best interest at heart. Instead of sending over the scans, I was forced to have my injured dog go through another x-ray, which is not good for his body and delayed the surgery he needed. All because Blue Pearl was pissed that we left. Do NOT take your pet to these horrible people.

Great vet hospital and amazing staff. Anything that requires the best vets, I skip my regular vet and go straight to Pearl. Yes, they are a bit pricey but my boys only get the best plus who doesn't have pet insurance these days! Trupanion (best) than Healthy Paws (both local)

Our puppy decided our wedding day was the day that she was going to do some serious damage to herself by chewing on an electrical cord. We were more than an hour and a half away, with her at one emergency clinic, who recommended that we move her to ACCES, as they had the right equipment to take care of her. Everything was set up over the phone, the team was fully understanding and promised to work with us if her condition worsened over the day. By the time we were done with getting married and our reception, it was 11 PM - we called and got a full blown update, how she was doing, what they were doing to treat her and some VERY positive news on her status. The following day, we were invited to go visit our "baby," in a private room, and another doctor sat down with us and provided us an update and next steps. One more night on oxygen and the following day she was able to come home. Our pup was very happy to see us, but she was equally happy to see any of the doctors or staff at ACCES, which proved to me that they are doing their best to ensure the experience was comfortable and cozy for my traumatized dog. When she was released, they walked through all the medications that we took home, how to give them to her and all the treatments she received while she stayed with them. I would also say - I was shocked that the bill was not completely out of control. While it was not a cheap experience, I had heard nightmare stories about crazy vet bills. It was very manageable and worth every dollar to have our pup back and mostly healthy. I'm hoping that our pet insurance covers most of the cost, but we'll see (and that's a different review.) Overall, I cannot thank the team at ACCES for their help on taking care of our dog and taking our word for it over the phone that we would be there to do whatever for her (as soon as we had gotten married).

ATTENTION NYC DOG OWNERS: SOUTH STREET SEAPORT DOG PARK OR AN AREA NEAR BY HAS RAT POISON AND NEVER EVER EVER TAKE YOUR DOG TO BLUE PEARL CHELSEA ( esp stay away from doctor Ehmann) Doctor Ehmann at BLUE PEARL on 15th and 1st ALMOST KILLED my French Bulldog FLASH. If I had followed Her instructions, Flash would have died. On Monday I noticed Flash wasn’t eating, he was drooling from the mouth and wouldn’t even go on a walk around 9pm I saw blood come out of his mouth, so I rushed him to BLUE PEARL ANIMAL HOSPITAL IN CHELSEA, which was the only vet open close by. The Doctor Ehmann didn’t even put him on the examining table. She sat where I was sitting on the floor next to him. She pushed on his spine bc I said he was too sick to walk. She said it could be a slipped disc, but didn’t offer to do any Xrays. I said "it’s not a slipped disc, he’s bleeding internally." She said maybe he bit his tongue. I asked her to look for a cut, if that's all it was. When she didn’t find one she said "maybe it’s an ulcer," and "maybe he ate something," and then left the room. We sat there for 45 minutes until a nurse brought me in a bill for $883. This bill was for a blood test to see how much fluid we should give him, 2 ulcer medications, and codeine (a pain pill). I said, "I am not paying for any of this. I am not giving my dog medicine without a real diagnosis." They insisted I pay and told me the doctor gave me 50% off the examination bill. I said, "why on earth would a doctor do that unless they know they actually didn’t examine my dog? I refuse to even pay for the $70 examination bill bc she didn’t even put him on a table to examine him." I was arguing all of this with the manager named Avi who seemed out of it and was acting bizarre. He was petting flash so forceful. My dog was clearly in pain and could barely stand, let alone be roughhoused with. We left the vet at 11pm, without the codeine or ulcer medications. I took Flash home and laid next to him petting him. If I would have given him that pain pill she recommended, he would have fallen asleep and died. Flash couldn’t get comfortable and went down on my bathroom floor. As I was laying with him, his breathing seemed off to me. At 1am I called the Blue Pearl in Brooklyn (190 3rd Ave) which is a brand new facility. I spoke to the receptionist, Kelly, who was beyond helpful. I told her his symptoms and she instructed me to just stay calm and get him there ASAP. His breathing was slowing down in the car. When I got there a team rushed to the door, grabbed Flash and ran him into the examining room. After I was told the diagnosis (rat poisoning), Kelly at the front desk said "that’s what I prepped the team for when you called. Those are rat poisoning symptoms." How is it that a receptionist over the phone knows more than someone who calls themselves a vet and in person saw and "examined” my dog? His gums were white and he was so low on oxygen when I got there that if I had waited longer he would have died. Dr. Stephanie Silberstang, Kelly, and the rest of their team saved my dog's life. They acted fast and professional, and made me feel comfortable knowing my dog's life was in their hands. Doctor Ehmann at Blue Pearl Chelsea took hours of time away from my sick dog. Flash could have been getting better instead of nearing death. I received a call from Blue Pearl Chelsea's manager the next day, apologizing about my experience and offering me the $70 exam fee back. I told her if she thinks this is about the $70 and not about the fact Dr. Ahmann was so negligent that she could have killed my dog, then she is delusional. Knowing what I know now, this is NOT THE FIRST TIME BLUE PEARL CHELSEA has done malpractice. THEY KILLED a famous French Bulldog named Chloe the Mini Frenchie. Chloe went in for a routine procedure and was on oxygen. In their negligence, they pumped her lungs full of too much oxygen, which led to her death. STAY AWAY from this vet. It's NOT SAFE. The vets do sometime rotate locations so whatever you do DONT BRING YOUR DOG TO DOCTOR EHMANN

Courtney Neubauer

They are professional, good at what they do. I take my pup here even though it's a 20 min drive

Crystal Martin

Very compassionate when I had to euthanize my Dog. The doctor gave me more information than my local veterinarian did.

Carina Skrande

Do whatever you can to avoid this place-their only interest is gouging prices and taking advantage of you in a desperate situation. Avoid at ALL costs.

Great service by caring vets

Best Facility By Far ... They Took Care of our Cali When Nobody Else Could ... Not enough Thank Yous

Anne Talbott

We took our seriously ill cat here and were just SO amazed at their technical skills as well as their caring. We lost our kitty, sadly, but we know they did everything possible to help her and helped make her comfortable at the end, which we really, really feel blessed over. Thanks! I'd highly recommend this pet hospital to anyone!

Two winters ago the ER Veterinarians at this Blue-Pearl location saved my dog's life. She ingested a container of Vitamin D capsules from my bedside while I was sleeping. After researching the topic I rushed her to this facility (I'd never been). The staff and doctors were kind, understanding, and professional. Her treatment was complex and time sensitive. I have no regrets bringing her here and am grateful for their help. Michelle Griego-Valles, DVM and Josh Rosenbaum, DVM; in the event you read this, thanks again for saving my dog's life!

Matt Jones

Excellent customer service and a great resource to have in Seattle. My 13-yr old schnauzer is enjoying better quality-of-life thanks to the cardiology referral to Dr. Tobias and Brooke.

Steven Lewis

Great experience. I brought my two adult labs in after one of them pulled a ceramic bowl of flour, water and sourdough starter off a kitchen counter, breaking the bowl, followed by a dog fest on the new starter, including small fragments of the bowl (yes, labs will eat anything). The doctor was knowledgeable, professional, practical and proposed a treatment plan which was appropriate to the dog's condition. I am a human doctor, and can't say enough good about this team.

Katelyn F

I just moved to the area from Florida and unfortunately last night I had to make the hard decision to euthanize my cat. Bluepearl got me right in and put me in a nice, comfortable room. They executed everything with compassion and I feel as though they treated myself and my pet the best they could in that situation. I have 4 other animals and will make this my primary vet for them all.

Evelyn Rowell

If anyone is coming here because their cat has ALLERGIES PLEASE READ. I was advised to come here by my regular vet. She told me they would have some other answer that they were not seeing, this was not the case. The dermatologist s a nice person and I’m sure a great doctor, however there is nothing that they can do for you here that your regular vet can not. If your cat is experiencing skin issues from allergies and a change in diet has not helped they will probably do the same thing they did for me: atopica and if it doesn’t work, then immunotherapy. your regular vet can examine your cat and give this treatment for a FRACTION of what you will pay here. They wanted to charge me 1k to do tests before I even started the treatment. My regular vet did those tests and gave me Atopica for $230. They call themselves specialists here but I fail to see what is so specialized about prescribing the exact same treatment that a regular vet could give for 5x the price. Over charging like this is cruel to pet owners and their pets. Money should not stop an animal from getting the help it needs and places like this are making this the case. I hope this review helps someone. When your pet is sick it’s incredibly difficult. If you choose to go here I truly do hope they can help.

Tracy Hickok

Great care, staff and doctors. Wouldn't ever go anywhere else!

Like one has stated below. Not everyone can have the same experience as the person before them. I was left the option (referred to only center except Knoxville) to take my German Shepherd to BluePearl for a TPLO surgery due to a major tear in her ACL. I cant really complain about the experience. The beginning stages of the client relationship were stronger and more sincere. I don't believe my initial Veterinarian worked on my dog on the second surgery, however I felt like I was led to believe she was. They misquoted me by $450 at one time, however they took it off of my bill. My visitations have ranged over the past 10 months and would recommend this facility for major surgery. My dogs leg led to infection but after research and listening I do not believe it could have been avoided. Like anywhere, be smart and do your research.

April Ortega

Great staff. I trust them completely when it comes to my two dogs.

We took our kitten Mewly to blue pearl after he lost his meow and got very ill very quickly the staff were extremely professional nice and gave us a private exam room and the place was so nice all I could hear is $$$ adding up but to my surprise they were well below the quality of care and we told them money was an issue for us and they made sure to help out and Mewly is recovering now and his fever is gone and he’s back to his happy kitten self.

Yuhan Hu

The environment is nice but sometimes the doctors don’t tell you all the information you need to know. My dog was diagnosed with renal dysplasia. Dr Stanley did the ultrasound and gave us the diagnose. However, without telling us more treatment options, she just recommended stem cell therapy which is extremely expensive and rarely applied on kidney problems. She told us how it works without telling us the fact that it does not always works. I had to go to the bluepearl in Brooklyn to get more information out of the doctors.

I came in on Easter after my cat Piglet suffered from a 5 story fall off my balcony... Not only were they quick on getting my Piglet back to be evaluated in a waiting room full of people, but also quick on getting us back to speak to a doctor who stated her concerns for her. She had to stay overnight, and not even three hours later the same doctor called and stated everything they found with Piglet, but as well as the course of treatment. She said the doctor in the morning would call at 9, and right at 9 I got the call & Piglet was ready to come home. It was an expensive stay but so worth it. They were so thorough, and helped save my baby girl! They made sure I was prepared to take her home, and how to monitor and look after her. You even can call back with any questions or concerns. Despite some negative reviews, the service was incredible, quick, and concise. Every doctor and nurse that came in was knowledgeable and thorough. Could not be more thankful for BluePearl on such a horrible day. Thank you so much BluePearl!!!!!

Krysthel Engstrom

Took my puppy for an urgent evaluation for belly pain. Super friendly staff. Everyone was very kind. No waiting time. The nurse who helped us out was extremely kind and anwered every question. Really clean and state of the art facilities. Will definitely go there if I ever have an emergency again. I highly recommend blue pearl to every dog owner !

R W

Good treatment, friendly staff. Long wait at times due to the number of emergency cases.

ARE YOU F*ING KIDDING ME?!?! BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Brentwood has the ventilator that can help save our 1-year-old English Bulldog Gus, but is refusing to let Gus use their Mechanical Ventilator (only ventilator in Nashville) even though they have NO ONE onsite that knows how to use it, thus we cannot move Gus there. And our Specialist, who knows how to use it, is not allowed on-site to use the ventilator for Gus. BluePearl, you should be ashamed of yourself and all you SAY you stand for.

I just spent the whole day. The morning I had my two granddaughters who are toddlers. The staff was extremely understanding. It was one more of the worst days I've had, but the staff was wonderful. Dr Lisa was so caring and sweet. I knew Sampson was in great hands!. They kept me informed throughout his whole procedure. The building was easy to find, conveniently located, and very clean, with good parking. The rooms are comfortable with plenty of room. The staff are courtous and friendly, the Dr's are well educated and on top of things. If you're in need, what a great place to go.I glad I did

Carlee Nesse

They were wonderful and understanding. Helping me to keep Pacho the wonder dog going strong.

My Maltepoo was bitten by our neighbor's dog and she refused to put any weight on one of her legs. Our vet couldn't get us in the same day so we went to BluePearl because I had heard great things. The staff was as nice as could be!!! The facilities were so nice. The doctor was so thorough in explaining every step of the evaluation and before they did anything they would give us a price and get our ok to proceed. I'm so glad I took her because her leg was broken. They took great care of her and we will be back if we ever need emergency care!

Felicia Kayne

staff was great, prices were high

Jerry Fitch

Great people. Our dog was lethargic.. hadn't eaten is 2 days. Took him late Saturday night and they were very accommodating. I understand the $350 visit with blood test. My only issue was an additional $1,200 for 1.5 day stay with IV fluids, antibiotics and temperature monitoring. Would like to have had an ultra-sound, but what would that have cost :) $1,550 weekend visit, no diagnosis, and told to take him to our vet on Monday.

Joanna Zugno

I had an accident with with my chihuahua and this was the closest vet that was open 24 hours. Although there was a long wait since there was only 1 doctor available they were amazing. He ended up needing surgery and the staff kept me up to date on his condition until he was awake. It was an unfortunate accident but I feel so relieved we went there. When I went at night to visit him, you could see the staff truly cared about the animals and that is priceless.

Joan Golston

I took my Bengal cat in with a huge blood blister wrecking his ear, two ear infections, an eye infection and a urinary tract blockage. He was miserable! (I'd been gone ...) Yes, of course, they gave me an estimate of the costs, and ran my credit card for the minimum amount, but that's the business end. After that my cat got really expert, constant, careful attention - clear information after each test and the surgery, medications in the forms my cat would tolerate, and good instructions for after care. I could visit him in cat ICU, and the front desk waived lots of charges, refunded extra money when my cat came home a day early, and gave me every break they could. He was well treated, and so was I.

Shannon Giannetti

BluePearl was absolutely astounding in our time of need. Their clinic doesn't specialize in avian needs, but they were able to handle our Senegal with so much care until he was able to see his specialist. They were kind, attentive, research oriented, price controlled and just genuinely went above and beyond. I will always go back to BluePearl for any emergency care my pets need.

John Erik Karkula

Blue Pearl Veterinarian clinic is inept, rude, extremely expensive and irresponsible. Do not take your well loved pet to these people. I had an experience with my dear furry one. I brought her in for tests for seizures that had suddenly appeared and was charged almost two thousand dollars for tests that showed absolutely nothing wrong according to them except for elevated liver levels. Nothing else! Months later as her health continued to decline and she began to shrivel in front of me I called them again asking them if they were sure that NOTHING was revealed in the tests. They once again said nothing. They did not ask to see her or advise another course of action. After 4 months I went to another vet in Chelsea a few blocks away and after 24 HOURS they diagnosed her with a common thyroid problem and stated that she could regain her health in about two months on inexpensive 18$ a bottle pills but that her health had declined so much that he was not sure if she had the strength as her heart and other organs had been damaged due to the months without treatment. She died within days of the diagnosis. I called back to inform Blue Pearl of her death due to their negligence but they (Melanie) only dismissed my issues and blamed her death on me despite my attempts at healing her. If only Blue Pearl had made an effort and shown a bit more interest months prior she would have survived. Very unfortunate situation of negligence. Response to manager: Melanie, your response to my review is completely untrue. I have NEVER had a conversation with you where you were anything but curt and dismissive of my position. I did not happily thank you as you stated in your response. There is no reason for me to thank you. Do not lie.

Christina Forte

Excellent care and great staff! They addressed all of my concerns and did everything possible to save my pet. Staff is very compassionate.

Bronson Dingeman

Excellent and the most intelligent staff I am yet to meet. My pup got a severe nose bleed. Took her to two other vets, they didn't know what to do as she was also super lethargic. Luckly one vet recommended BluePearl . After getting three opinions we finally made it to them. My pup was taken care of and the issue at hand was figured out/diagnosed. They truly care about your animal above all else. They are a little bit more expensive but worth it, will work with your options if on a budget and those options are working for your animal. Thanks BluePearl and staff!!

Ellie Arciaga Lillstrom

I'd give it 2.8 stars, actually. We've had several really great experiences in emergencies with them, and they have always been really friendly and helpful. They have been our go to after hours vet for some time. But, recently we took our dog to their office, who became mysteriously ill over the course of just a few hours, on a busier night for them. When the Dr finally had time to see her, he actually ended up misdiagnosing her and sending us home with antibiotics and fluids, thinking it was a much simpler issue than it ended up being. Our dog was sick several times through the night, and in the morning her health had so deteriorated that she could barely move and her symptoms were MUCH MUCH worse than the night before. We decided to take her to our primary vet instead of back to Blue Pearl, and they diagnosed her correctly. When we told them that we had already taken our dog to Blue Pearl the night before when she had started showing symptoms, they asked if the Dr. had ordered x-rays or blood tests to make sure all the bases were covered in figuring out what was wrong. When we said they hadn't, they seemed very surprised and skeptical, and recommended we take our pup to a different 24 hour vet. At that point, our pup was seriously ill and wasn't responding to treatment at our primary vet; we were terrified we were going to lose her. We then had to transfer her to a different pet hospital for an overnight stay with 24/7 fluids to get her to start feeling better. If the Dr. at Blue Pearl had been able to correctly isolated the ailment that our pup was suffering from in the first place, it would've saved her A LOT of pain, and saved us at least $2200. We're willing to give them another chance if that time comes, but we will go into it with a critical eye.

I However” Also DISLIKE THIS PLACE VERRY MUCH !! My DOG DIED there’ because they kept Forcing me to put him to sleep” Saying he would Not Survive at all” And that he wasent going to make it” That it made No sence to try & save his life”... But then When I ask what is wrong with him! That’s he’s not able to make it”.... They insist with No Valid LEGIT responsce to what’s actually wrong with him” Saying they don’t know” They are Not sure” But tjatbhes not going to make it” So it would be best to put him to sleep & not even pay for further hospitalization because they did not want to take my $$ for it at all” But I found it to be bullCrap & verry weird because they could NOT even TELL ME” what is wrong with him’ To even say that he’s not going to make it & how he’s not responding to none of their medications” But yet” if you gave him certain medications”... How are you NOT able to tell me what is wrong with him or why you feel he is dieing & not going to make it !!! With the pressure of Only putting him to sleep & how they were going to take his blood work & X ray to see what’s wrong... But when they came back up to tell me to let them put him to sleep because he suffering & not well” I just wanted the X-ray & blood work before anything” But I was still being pressured to put him to sleep or else I’ll put myself in Major Dept” Trying to keep him alive They made me feel stupid and worthless of trying to save his life” Sadly I felt so under pressure & how imwoukd just be thousands of dollars in dept” Wen he died because they put him to sleep” In the report given to me of his death & symptoms” It was stated in the letter/report that there wer NO BLOODWORK OR X-RAYS TAKEN !! To begin with... I really am confused & heartbroken with this place! Because if there was NO BLOODWORK OR X-RAYS EVER TAKEN BEFORE PUTTING HIM TO SLEEP” How do I know he wasent going to make it!!!???? & How Did u guys even know which medicine to treat him with” If there was NO BLOODWORK OR X-RAYS TAKEN!!! I want to sue this place for his DEATH !!!

On Sunday afternoon, August 13th we brought in our "Sunshine". We knew from her primary vet from the prior 2 days that her kidneys were failing. We made the painful decision to end her suffering. It was our 1st time at Blue Pearl. I cannot say enough how caring, kind, and compassionate all the staff were to us. Especially, Linda (I think her name) went over and above to ease our sadness. Thank you to everyone

Great service and amazing staff

I came in with a sick dog. They took grrat care of him, and were super helpful in explaining options, and very patient with answering all my questions and on follow up. So happy with the treatment my dog received. The vet was also super good about understanding cost limitations and discussed the estimate in detail including the purpose for every line item.

Lisa Dye

The staff was nothing short of amazing. I love my dog as much as my kids :) When she's injured or sick, I want someone who will be good to her and get her better quickly. That's exactly what they did. Can't say enough great things about these folks. Hope you need need them in the middle of the night like I did but sure was glad they were there!

My best friend and love almost died. She had diabetes and her ketones were off the chart. Then she developed phenomena, all over Easter Sunday. She is still there but will be coming home tomorrow. They saved my babies life. It is very expensive, especially if it's as critical as my Monkey was. I started a go fund me and many people with loving hearts donated. It helped. I in return starting next month, I'm flat broke this month, will pay it forward and donate 50$ a month, maybe forever, to help those who were in my position a few days ago. She will probably need insulin and doggie xenix for the rest fo her long life to come. A small hick up. She is a rather dramatic pug. Also all pet owners--- if your baby's breath ever smells funny, go to vet right away. That's how I knew something was very wrong. She would be dead right now if I had not taken her when I did. The staff was very patent with me when I was freaking out and used up every box of tissues for my tears, when I called at 2am and 3am, and you can visit your baby when you like. My monkey gets too excited so mine were a bit more limited. Thank you to all who cared for her. I can't wait to have her back home where she belongs tomorrow.

Coming from a small town without the resources nearby, I brought my dog in for an ultrasound of his heart. In town visiting family, the local vet in Mt. Juliet recommended it due to my dog’s shortness of breath. BluePearl was able to get us in on the day that we requested, only had to wait a few min past our scheduled appointment before being seen and was able to get results to our vet within a few hours. This helped a lot especially since we were heading back to SC the next day. The vet tech was really nice and made sure to explain what all was involved with the appointment. I appreciated her taking the time to answer all my questions. Highly recommend this place to anyone who needs specialty medical services for their pets!

Alright so our experience is not terrible but not the best. Took our new pup in for a very bad kennel coff to the point I was scared it was becoming pneumonia by his wheezing. We waited for a very long time atleast 3 hours and in the end was told it could be anything and we’re giving antibiotics even though we need a coff suppression. So we then went on our way the staffs attitude was fine but didn’t take our concerns to seriously. We went the next day to animal health care in Renton where they did a fantastic job with care and gave us the coff suppresser That our pup needed. Anyways our first experience was ok just not as good as it should of been.

Darrin Johnson

Took our very sick Great Dane there on a Saturday after we took them to our local vet for high fever and lethargy. He recommended taking him here due to his fever/low platlets etc. We were seen promptly, the vets were all great and he was eventually diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Spotted fever. After 3 days there, he is back home and now back to normal. I felt they did a very good job estimating the cost up front which is very difficult when the diagnosis is not clear. All in all, very appreciative of the care they rendered.

Ok this is going to be a crazy story so sit down and buckle up. Around 45+ days ago I swear I heard cat meowing in my fireplace(hasn’t been used for like 20+ years) one afternoon I opened it and nothing. I kept looking went outside nothing. Sound went away and thought maybe one of my 4 cats were throwing their meow to mess with me. For the next week or so I kept hearing the noise and would grab all my family members (kids, husband, mom, and anyone who would come over) and ask them to listen. Some heard some did not. Moving forward about 20 or so days past still hear it went on the roof took pics down my huge chimney that I had to tip toe to put my phone up to see (almost lost the phone) nothing. Went the fire department. Fire chef came out nothing. Called the exterminator. Came out nothing. You see where I’m going with this right??!! Ok brings me to present day 45+days later. Last night at around 8pm we heard a huge thud and a cat distinctively meowing. Opened it up and went outside nothing. The noise was stronger then ever. Called 911, fire department, cat in a tree complaint, and like 4 chimney companies to find help. No one could assist me. I along with my husband and mother were feeling helpless. As I talked to the cat my mom did a google search and found this company. She called at like 942pm a gentleman answered. My mom told him what was going on and reassured him it wasn’t a prank we needed help!!!!!!! Kevin from sound chimney was in bed and jumped up to come to the rescue. He was at our place by 10pm ready to do what he can. He pulled out our chimney after a few minutes and my husband helped hold it up so I could grab the black kitty. We were all so excited and shocked the little boy was still alive. He started to purr the moment I grabbed him and he placed our fireplace back. If it wasn’t for his kindness and quick decision to help at such a late night I don’t wanna think of could have happened. We also cannot express how great full we are that blue pear animal hospital is open 24 hours. They were so kind and quick to be of service. They gave us an update that night and then when I called again in the am. They are so professional and amazing. If my animals ever need anything I will heading there!! Thank you!! PS THE CAT WENT HOME TODAY AND IS GOING TO MAKE A FULL RECOVERY!!!

We've had two different visits to BluePearl in Franklin. Both visits we experienced compassionate, knowledgeable doctors and staff members. When there's a need for emergency and/or specialized care it is very stressful for the owners but we were very appreciative of the time the doctor took to explain everything and the suggestions that were offered for the care our dog needed. While we do pray to not need the services of BluePearl again, if we do, we will definitely not hesitate to utilize them.

Took my dying cat here. Was promptly greeted and my cat was immediately triaged. I was given pricing up front and my cost concerns were always respected. I was given a choice how I wanted to proceed with care if needed. My cat had to be euthanized. The staff was very professional and supportive. Dr Gill was exceptional: he talked to me and was frank and realistic of my cats health situation. I was allowed to be with my cat while being put asleep. Dr. Gill was awesome in explaining what I needed to know for the process of putting my cat to sleep. It was one of the most difficult experiences I’ve had to endure. I’m glad there was emotional support for me. Loosing my cat was very traumatic for me, but the staff and Dr. Gill helped me trough the difficult process. Thank you Dr. Gill and staff for your quick assessment and compassion for me and my cat. It will always be remembered and never forgotten. Thank you all.

Look. No one wants to get to know a veterinary hospital as well as I have gotten to know the fine folks at Blue Pearl. There's few things worse than learning that your pet has a terminal illness, but the 24/7 attention, quality care, professionalism, and genuine humanity we have received from the doctors and staff at Blue Pearl has been a silver lining to an otherwise terrible situation.

Mei Liu

I experienced amazing care and service. The doctor and attendant were kind, patient and compassionate in our time of need. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. The receptionist was polite. The doctors were very transparent about the costs of the services and provided me an estimate. I am alarmed at some of the negative reviews on here with good reason so to specify - i went to the 15th st. location at around 10:30pm and visited with Dr. Laura A. Stock. She had a wonderful demeanor and was very kind.

Cassie Johnson

Very friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and caring staff. Facility was clean. We will be recommending this place to all our local friends with pets.

Emily Marks

Dr. Kevin Au diagnosed our dog's OCD legion in a matter of minutes. He thoroughly explained what was happening in our dog's body and even drew us a diagram to make sure that we understood. Amazing! All the other staff members that we interacted with were very friendly and helpful as well. We had to drive an hour to get there but it was well worth it!

Spent over $3000 on my cat and they told me my cat is totally healthy. My cat hasn’t been eating and drinking for days, and I went this place seeking for a solution. They did a lot of expensive tests there. At first they told me my cat has large size kidney that might cause a lot of health issue. Then they told me kidney size is actually in normal range and spleen is the one being a little big. Finally they told me everything is okay. I suspect my cat just got a cold and he could not smell anything therefore results in an appetite decreasing, but none of those experts thought of that, and their solutions did not help my cat eating at all. Basically I just did a $3000 health exam for my cat, and my cat healed by time.

My three year old healthy mini schnauzer was sick last week. Wouldn't come out of his crate. Took him on Tuesday to my local vet All Pets Health in Spring Hill, TN b/c he was definitely not himself. I was told his platelet count was around 78,000 which was a little low considering normal ranges are around 200,000. They prescribed Prednisone, a muscle relaxer and a pain med b/c they also said he had back pain. Two days on the meds, my pup wouldn't eat. They ran tests again on him on Friday and saw his platelet count had increased 10,000. Saturday he still wasn't eating so we made him some fresh chicken and rice. He did eat some chicken but threw it up multiple times during the evening and had bloody stool. On Sunday morning, he was again not wanting to get up and I had to drag him out of the crate to go to the bathroom. He still wouldn't eat and still had bloody stool. I decided to take him to Blue Pearl. They immediately put him on fluids and an antibiotic. At this point, I still had no idea what was wrong with my dog. Were these side effects from the medication or was it a fluke that we stumbled upon his low platelets from running blood work? They called their internal medicine vet and he basically told us we had to spend up to $3,000 to run more test to establish what was wrong with our pet. Meanwhile he was declining. Two days later, $2,000 later, basically Blue Pearl told me that I should put down my 3 year old puppy who had never had any health issues. Very disturbed and upset I spoke with my father who mentioned I should contact his vet. I did that immediately and was told to transfer my pup over to Dr. Fly at the Nolensville Animal Hospital in Nolensville, TN. I did that and 2 days later and only $700, my pup is eating again, blood work is gradually increasing back to normal levels and he is feeling more like his old self again. Please, please take my advice and seek second opinions b/c it felt like if you didn't have thousands of dollars to throw at Blue Pearl, then there recommendation is just to put your loved one down.

My dog suffered a broken leg a couple of years ago. She was less than a year old at the time so we were concerned about her long-term health. Blue Pearl conducted a complicated leg surgery and follow up visits to ensure that her leg is now 100% healed. They were not the cheapest Vet but it was worth every penny to ensure that our dog had a full recovery.

I brought my kitten to this vet for emergency, since this is the only one open on Sunday, and close to me. The stuff and nurse are friendly. They asked what happened to my cat, and they did whole inspection to find out where was bleeding and analyzed possible situation and injured. After that she gave professional advise about which kind of emergency treatment I should take, and what I can do in the regular vet, so it won't cost too much. I can't judge about the price, since this is my first time to emergency. But it wasn't unaffordable. Thank you very much for taking care of my kitten so careful.

Tina Seta

Amazing vet, they are very helpful and professional

Not all experiences can be the same for everyone, but for me, the staff at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Franklin, TN is nothing less than miraculous. They saved the life of our Chihuahua. Our little dog was choking, he'd been struggling to get a breath when we arrived, then he stopped breathing. But he was saved. They restored his life and kept a close watch on the little guy to ensure that everything would be alright. Now he is back with us, alive and well. The medical field is not always fair. Not every life can be saved. But that night, the staff were nothing less than saviors. Thank you will never be enough...

Joy Engelcke

Disappointed. At first I thought this was a great at place. We had to bring our old sick cat in for euthanasia, and we were told the cat would be given a sedative and then the euthanasia drug. They seemed really understanding and caring. What they didn't tell us was the sedative would be an extra $90. They made it seem like it was all part of the service included in the $130 charge we were quoted over the phone. Really disappointed. Edited up to 3 stars for great response from BluePearl. Much appreciated.

Brooke Eder

This was literally the worst animal hospital I’ve ever been to. We had 2 dogs, one of which got into a bottle of dog medication but we didn’t know which one. We went to Blue Pearl at 2am and the incompetent staff told us not to induce vomiting and come in. We were then left in an empty waiting room for 2 hours with no staff members at the desk and the staff we did encounter were extremely rude. I literally had to call their phone number to speak with someone while we were sitting there. I went to Emerald City Animal Hospital instead and they were amazing and helpful. I would never go to Blue Pearl again.

Lorraine Bivona

Blue Pearl is fabulous! They took great care of our 11 year old Shiloh Shepherd Ben. We brought him in & we’re so worried, he had a high fever, was lethargic, & not eating. They took great care of him. The staff is amazing from the Receptionists, to the Techs, & Doctors. Thank you for everything, Special thanks to Linda Aten

I just returned from picking my dog up after having had to leave him at this facility for three nights after he came down with acute Pancreatitis. It was very scary for me. Every single person with whom I interacted was caring, attentive, responsive, professional, and genuinely nice. I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews on here. What was most gratifying for me was the Vet, Dr. Alex Bluttinger. He spent SO much time with me - answering my questions, interacting with the dog and me to discuss his symptoms - regardless of the time of day when I was there. The place is spotless (given the nature of the business), and I would highly recommend using the facility. I would also highly recommend asking for Dr. Bluttinger (if they allow such requests to be accommodated).

Pink Pearls

My kitty has fluid around her lungs. PRIOR VET took fluid off and then referred us to Blue Pearl (DR. Bercovitch )to see what causing this..They repeated the exact same test the prior Vets examed, and told me absolutely Nothing .. not like paying $1600 to hear, I don't know what's causing it... but we can run more test for additional $$$$ sum of money and then "maybe" we can see and find out. My prior Vet ended up putting kitty to sleep, I cried for weeks. I feel like that Dr Bercovitch took advantage and I'd never trust them ever again. Horrible vets. Please take your loved pets elsewhere.

Kyle Lucas

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very attentive and got us in immediately when we needed it.

Amith Cherukuri

Why is this place still open...:it’s worst than puppy mills. Such a horrible place. They only want money and that’s it. They don’t care about the animals. I came in with my yorkie who has knee issues. Every other doctor I met suggested some form of physical therapy, but these guys only want to charge money for follow up appointments that result in a unnecessary surgery which makes them money!!!

Lynnsay Maynard

The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful when my dog had some back problems. Everyone treated my dog like it was their own! They didn't try to make money by putting him through a ton of tests, etc. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Beth Lambert

I feel like this place is more concerned about money then the well being of your pet or even the owner. I had to take my 8 week old puppy because it was after hours and she was extremely lethargic and wouldn't seem to wake up. They tested for parvo and one other test. Came back negative. Doctor came in and gave me all the worst case scenarios. She recommended keeping her over night. I went with my gut and took her home with me. I knew I would hold her all night to keep an eye on her and they would just crate her and check periodically. At 3am she perked and, started barking and wanted to play. I know that the $1800.00 dollars they expected to be paid before they would keep her would not have been refunded or that they would not have even called me at that time to let me know she was so much better. I understand this is a business but to gouge people when they are in such distress is shameful. I feel like this place seems to care more about the money than the well being of the pet.

Amanda Randolph

This was the rudest staff I have ever encountered. I called to speak with a vet or technician and the receptionist took forever to connect me with a tech and asked for more information after I gave her a summary of what happened. If you are not the medical professional, please let me speak to someone who is. Then, not only was the vet tech rude, condescending, extremely judgmental, and overall impatient, she could not provide me any information. Does cat food increase blood pressure? She doesn’t know, you should “probably book an office visit” to find out. There are ways you can encourage/recommend a doctor’s visit without being completely negligent to your furry patients. It ended with her spending forever looking for the pet poison control number. I called Emerald city and not only were they lovely and very knowledgeable, but they told me the exact tests my cat would likely need when I took him in so there would be no surprise charges. I would recommend steering clear of this place and going to literally anywhere else instead.

Mel0vMusic

This has been the best care my dog and I have received in terms of quality service and really caring for my dog. The cardiologist, Dr. Mark Harmon, really cares about what happens and has gone above and beyond in providing such quality services. I really believe it is because of his care, along with our vet’s care, that my dog’s life has been prolonged. I cannot thank them enough!

mark miller

I would give this Petsmart Mars corporation owned death camp 0 points out of 100. What a racket they have going on here. Any pet owner who agrees to be fleeced by these thieves should spend a month in the old psych ward at Bellevue in a strait jacket. I also believe that the community practitioners who accept payola for referring their clients to this horrible place should be delicensed and spend time in prison for advantage of the emotional vulnerability of dog and cat owners in New York City. We recently took a dog in on a Sunday night to address some breathing issues which are commonly addressed by lasix. By 5:30 am Monday morning they had managed to kill our beloved pet. This happened at 55th street but this is a chain operation. Stay away. They once wanted 1500.00 to suture a superficial cut on another of our dogs. We eventually settled on some staples for $350.00. Still thievery. This is not the country vet- these are thieves who consort with thieves to take advantage of the close emotional bonds most pet owners form with their pets. SHAME on them and SHAME on Petco for operating a business like this. BTW - let us never forget that PETCO has sold puppy mill dogs!

My dog tater tot had to spend the night here and the staff and doctors couldn’t be more warm and helpful. It was a very scary process and they were so kind and understanding. Didn’t feel like they were just looking for money, the genuinely wanted what was best for my pup and very understanding in talking me through everything.

Colton Davis

Our dog was in need of surgery from an accident. The hospital did an amazing job, and our dog is happy and healthy again. Unfortunately they didn’t tell us that two neccessary bandage changes would cost $90 dollars after we already paid $5000.

PrincessPanFry

My doggo was acting lethargic and wouldn't eat, so we rushed her here. They sent us home and told us to watch her, thinking it was probably just too many treats. We got home and she immediately started hemorrhaging. We rushed her to our regular vet because it was open at this point and was much closer to our home. I called Blue Pearl on the way there (hysterically crying, I might add) and the vet was very calm and reassured me that I was doing the right thing. She even gave me some ideas of what it could be. It was something that would not have been detectable at the time of her emergency visit, so I do not blame them at all for not catching it while we were there. They immediately sent over all of my dog's information to my regular vet, and communicated with them wonderfully. I didn't feel like I was repeating myself a million times because everybody had a general idea of who my dog was and what she was being treated for. My vet doesn't do overnight treatment, so she was transferred back to Blue Pearl. They watched her overnight and treated her like family. She even gave them tail wags and kisses, something she doesn't do when she's scared. So I know how comfortable she felt there. They called with updates and said I could call any time. Although it was expensive, they told me ways I could not spend as much money without sacrificing her treatment, like picking her up early in the day and transferring her to my regular vet from there to continue treatment. My dog is my family, and they helped save her life.

Alison Leigh

I brought my cat here a week ago for a bladder issue. The vet wasn’t able to do anything for her and instead gave me a pain medication and told me to take her to my normal vet. So I spent $100 to be told to go to another vet and was given pain meds. Fast forward to today where I take my cat in to a normal vet. She was given an antibiotic shot immediately and switched to pain medication that is less inflammatory. I’m not so much disappointed in the waste of money I spent but more disappointed in the fact that I was given a generic pain medication and they were able to do anything for my cat. I will not be back here unless is a very very serious issue. Even then I might consider saving my money and waiting for my normal vet to open.

Karen Mahood

This place is amazing. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They really really seem like they care and know what they are doing. They took the time to sit and talk with me to get to know my dog. They were very thorough. I am so glad this location opened. I would recommend to everyone

Renee Ryan

Yesterday was my first time at Blue Pearl and it was an emergency. My 13 week old puppy had swallowed a whole Nylabone and it was lodged in her esophagus. I brought her in right away and she was seen immediately. X-rays confirmed the bone was stuck and too big to get into her stomach. A few hours later, she'd had an endoscopy and the entire bone was removed without any complication. Today, she is feeling great, back to her old self. Yes, this place is expensive, but the care was excellent. I would not bring my dog anywhere other than the AMC on York. I could not be more complementary of the staff and care my French Bulldog received. I am so thankful they were able to take care of her so quickly!!!

Sam Karaman

The receptionist was a little short with her answers and not very compassionate when we walked in with our Yorkie in pain. The doctor, however, was nothing short but amazing. Understanding, caring, listening attentively to our fears and concerns. Seemed very knowledgeable and loving. Unfortunately our baby had to be put to "sleep" and the very receptionist was a lot more kind at the end. Clean, nice facility staffed by professionals. Most negative reviews seem to revolve around pricing and therefore I don't believe accurately reflects the overall care and professionalism the place provides or does it justice. I would recommend a more caring personality up front (maybe welcoming is a better word), but that's about it.

Bobby Kruger

Brought in our dog who was vomiting and other things uncontrollably. Rushed her there in the middle of the night - the overnight team took great care of her, and Dr. Rosenbaum especially was amazing at working with our dog, and us - and although she had to stay 2 nights for precaution - everything worked out just great. Thanks everyone who helped us. Get pet insurance.

Stephanie Adib

My little dog has had to go to emergency a few times and I always know she will get the best care here. All the staff is friendly and makes a scary situation less stressful. Even during the holidays, they provide excellent care. Tiger says thank you :)

Amanda Angulo

Blue Pearl saved our dog’s life. Our English Bulldog had aspiration pneumonia, lost 20% of her body weight and was no longer eating. After a misdiagnosis at another vet, we were desperate for answers and found them at Blue Pearl. The internal specialist Dr Im (as well as Dr Mak), performed a careful intake meeting to learn about our case and bulldog’s health issues. Excellent bedside manner, thought, communication and care. Never felt rushed and always felt listened to. Always open to questions. We received the right testing and diagnosis. We could follow up with questions at any time and received prompt answers. Our bulldog is now happy and healthy and we are thrilled with her care. The front desk and support staff were all incredible as well (very friendly, helpful and considerate). I am telling every dog owner I know about Blue Pearl especially for emergencies or special cases. Dr Im is an excellent internal/gastrointestinal specialist. If you are reading this and waiting for an appointment at AMC, go here instead.

wilson sisk

I think Blue Pearl tries as hard as anybody in their industry. Dr Aw and Dr Lucas were very professional. Dr Lucas had to deliver some tough news and sat on the floor with my dog and loved on him while telling me. See some 1 Stars on here, everybody has a bad day and it’s an extremely emotional business. They have a tough job. 24 hour pet care is a luxury to have in any city. 5 stars from me.

Renee Crane

My cat was dying and the staff was so comforting. If I decide to get another pet I will be using their services Thank you

Alex Kratzwipf

We had a really great experience here. Our cat broke his leg and needed orthopedic surgery, they were able to do it the same day. Everyone we talked to and worked with there was really friendly and helpful, they kept us well informed and answered all our questions fully. The surgery was not cheap, but it came in under the initial estimate. The doctor wanted extra follow up x-rays a few months later and they did not charge us for these. I'd highly recommend Blue Pearl.

Tara Moosenose

So far Dr Hann is great. We're still trying to figure out what's going on with my pup's health and we're doing diagnostics but they have been wonderful in explaining their thought process and what next steps might need to happen. Update: my dog had a thymoma tumor growing next to her heart. Dr. Hann & Dr. Robertson were a pleasure to work with. They recommended we go to Colorado State University Cancer Center for a special radiation treatment. We ended up getting surgery there in CO. But the diagnostic sessions were great. They did their best to help keep costs down and we're wonderful at excited our different options and sending records and correspondences to CSU.

The staff and doctors at the Blue Pearl Aurora location were fantastic and caring. We had to take our poor pup in a few times for emergency services. Each time they explained all of our options and and gave us the space we needed to make a decision.

David Breton

Thank you for saving our dog's life. We are all so very grateful.

**Stay away from this particular location** I do not recommend using this facility in Franklin. They talk in circles, make prices up on the go, give you false information, and then turn around and change what they said. I find the vet and surgeon there cold, and do not care for you or your pets needs, just there for the $$$. All they care about is overcharging you for small procedures and treat you like you're a dummy!

Wandering Bunny

We took our puppy here when she started having seizures and they took excellent care of her when we had to rush her in (twice for seizures). We also went in when my puppy ate something she shouldn't have. They were able to put us at ease and took good care of her.

R Smith

This clinic charges astronomical amounts and gives very poor service! Make the trip to Nashville, it might save your pets life!!!

Greg Kitzmiller

Saved my cats life. Went from having a collapsed lung with a hole in it and seizures to completely back to normal. Miraculous. BluePearl also tolerated more than daily status checks and visits. Nice and competent people.

Brought in my Greyhound who had scratched open the sutures on his face (our fault for taking his cone off to "give him a break" from it). He got his hind foot up, ripped the whole thing open, and had blood running down his face. On a Saturday night after 9pm. So off we went, he was seen pretty quickly (I expect to wait in an emergency room, and he was seen faster than in any human ER I've been to!). Later that night we picked him up, all stitched up again. I expected him to have a giant scar after traumatizing it like that, but it was closed so skillfully that it healed beautifully. Also, our girl is a blood donor there, and she loves her visits- she's treated like a star every time!

Ilana Becker

The vet visit experience was positive. However, I called and received "all circuits are busy" multiple times in a row. Yes, the number I dialed was accurate. Please call the Hell's Kitchen location on 55th.

Excellent communication and Options Provided By Dr Lucas and her team. My dog Rosco developed Bone Cancer and they have been nothing short of great in thier attitude, communication and caring attitude towards me and my dog. Thank you, Keep up the good work

Our dog was suddenly quite ill and our regular vet wouldn't squeeze her in on a Saturday. So, we went to BluePearl based on a recommendation. The staff there was truly lovely. On carrying her in, they could see that she was ill and immediately brought her back to examine her. Within five minutes, we were consulting with the vet. After doing a quick ultrasound on her abdomen, she told us the most likely diagnosis and the grim outlook. After answering all of our questions, we were taken to another room where she would be euthanized. They wheeled our dog in and gently placed her on the floor so that she could be in my lap for the procedure. The staff was very caring and respectful, allowing us to stay and grieve as long as we wanted. A few days later, a sympathy card arrived from them. The facility itself is modern and spacious. They graciously cleaned up the trail of fluids that went from the front door to the exam room.

This place is full of money driven monsters! I have never been in such a cold place and seen so many heartless people in my life. I brought my sweet dog there with hope and all they care about was getting thousands of dollars from us and refused to even give us one answer. They redid tests that i just had done at her vet 2 hours prior. They never showed me any of “their” X-rays. They would not let me bring my dogs bed or her food in. They would not let me see her till the last minutes. They never once offered me a tissue just wanted me to get off the phone with my husband so they could collect payment. I lost my baby girl and was not even given a tissue. Never asked how i was or any condolences. Just coldness!! I can’t even get into the full story on here because it pains me in ways i can’t even talk about. I walked out though the lobby shaking and balling. Those monsters behind the desk did not even say I’m sorry or even bye!!! I would not refer my worst enemy to this place. This place is sickening and makes me cringe!! They took my dog and not once thought about the feelings and family that love her. Please stay away from this place! Run!

I have a beautiful 2 year old golden for my service dog. We were referred to Blue Pearl by our local vet in Clarksville. We drove up on Thursday to meet with a dr and found out he had a torn ACL. Dr. Wood was AMAZING!!! She thoroughly explained what needed to be done and was able to operate the next morning. As our drive is over an hour and we would have to drive in morning rush hour traffic they kept him over night. The staff that worked with Dr Wood during his surgery were wonderful at keeping me updated. We saw Dr Wood today for our two week check up, and he is healing right on track. Dr. Wood is moving out of state and this is her last week. I want to Thank her for everything she did to help me through this situation. I wish her the best and want her to know how appreciated she is for her care of my pooch but also in making sure I understood everything in detail, answered all my questions, and was sympathetic to my anxiety about the situation!!! Thank you Dr. Wood. And safe travels. I would recommend Blue Pearl and thank all of the staff that helped with my pooch!!!

I've been here twice, and I won't be back. Staff are pretty rude. They seem to be disgruntled at something and are taking it out on the customers. Absurdly long wait times, despite the waiting room being empty, and people aren't able to leave while they wait. Look elsewhere.

David Elliott

We took our dog there with congestive heart failure over a year ago. Dr. Backlund acted as our primary point of contact, coordinating her work with that of Dr. Tobias. I really appreciated having one point of contact. Their medical treatment allowed him to live for another 18 months, much longer than anticipated. When we brought him in with what turned out to be a perforated ulcer, Dr. W. (I could never remember her full name, for obvious reasons) gave us the information we needed and help to ease his pain with dignity. Her compassion was sincere and obvious, and greatly appreciated. I will not hesitate to bring an animal here again.

joseph fleury

Every time I've been to BluePearl with my cats I'm reminded of why I keep coming back without hesitation when I have an emergency and my vet isn't available. They are outstanding in every way and knowing they are always available when I might need them is reassuring. Thank you again Blue pearl!

Catherine Monteagudo

I went there twice and I had a very good experience. My doggy got healed after taking her medication. They are really nice and you feel they really care for animals. Now you have to use your brain cause they will always ask you to do many tests. My bill The first time was almost 2000 dollars but I said no, I m sorry but let s do a blood test and from there we will decide what to do and I left paying just 500 dollars. Everywhere you go, they will always ask you to do this and that and when the bill comes you can t believe it. So make sure you do use your brain. And the second time, last night I paid 210 dollars.

Michael Rutherford

They charged $38 to do an injection and then $60 for what basically amounts to saline solution (there was already an exam fee so it wasn't for the expertise or diagnosis). They should be ashamed by this price. What a ridiculous mark up. Since costs are so obfuscated in anything health, I decided to write a review so people know they will charge you an arm and leg for doing trivial health tasks. Everything else was expensive but not unreasonable (reasonable for a professional). The actual service rendered was fine, Just really peeved by their cost structure.

Super nice to my dog and yummy free hot coco

Blue Pearl saved this baby's life. We went to another emergency vet in Goodlettsville, Tennessee and were basically told we had no choice but to put her down. She had developed aspiration pneumonia and was in terrible shape. We contacted Blue Pearl at 2:00 a.m., and they told us they would do everything they could do. We told them how much we love Bendi and they told us by phone that we should at least try to give her a chance. They told us to bring her on and they would prepare for her arrival and told us to call when we were close. We called and they were waiting at the door to get her and immediately took her back and gave her oxygen and began working on her. Bendi stayed for about 4 days and they released her home with a lot of meds. She just finished antibiotics yesterday and we are going to make an appointment today to return for chest x-ray. I cannot say enough good things about this hospital. I would highly recommend them. Every person we encountered from the receptionist, to the vet techs to the doctors were all kind and knowledgeable. In addition to all of that, they called us daily to advise us of our fur baby's condition. They even asked us to visit thinking that the visit would give Bendi the extra incentive or push to get better. That visit did give her a boost to get better. I would highly recommend Blue Pearl. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for. They provide specialized human-like care for your animal. They also have state of the art equipment, specialized treatment for the animals they see and a beautiful facility. Thank you Blue Pearl, we will be forever grateful for what you did for our baby.

Debbie York

Not impressed at all. My vet referred my dog for specialty care since there was a strong concern of kidney failure. Finally got a call and couldn't take it. Called right back and woman was gone for the day, at 3:00 in the afternoon. Left a message to call back. By mid morning the next day I had not heard back and called. The message given to me was, "Don't call us, we'll call you when we're ready to talk to you".

Leah Alcyon

Misty McNeil, DVM has dog friendly manner and quick diagnosis. Our dog was surprisingly calm with her physical assessment.

Emily Hampton Saylor

Our kitten has had chronic sinus and upper respiratory infections since we found her last May. We have already spent hundreds of dollars on treatment that hasn't worked. We asked for a referral and received one. We made the appointment with Blue Pearl and didn't really know what to expect. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The facility is clean, the staff is wonderful and these folks are top notch at what they do. We were given an estimate up front re: cost and told that if the cost was exceeded by 20% or more, they would call to discuss it. We were encouraged to review the estimate, ask questions and even offered a lesser alternative. Every time we called we spoke with a Doctor and we were encouraged to ask questions. When the Vet Tech walked in the exam room, she said "I'd like to hear from you all what's been going on.". We kept apologizing for being too long winded but she encouraged us to give us even the most minute details as that might make a difference. These people actually care and that means a lot. The hospital is owned and operated by the same veterinary staff who works there so there isn't a board of directors with no medical knowledge making decisions about the fate of your pet. Yes they're pricey but you get what you pay for. Not all veterinary clinics lavish pets with attention. These people do. They call your pet by name, they do their best to avoid unnecessary stress and they keep you in the loop on everything. If you aren't getting what you need elsewhere, go to Blue Pearl!

Derek Wilson

Excellent doctors and friendly staff who take great care of both pets and owners. Added cost is a non issue for emergency after hours needs.

Rachael Kimble

Saved my dogs life. Immediate attention and detailed explanation. Vet was attentive and friendly. Couldn’t praise more

Was referred by another local vet. Obviously there is referral fee. If you are referred please avoid it at all costs. I wish I had read the reviews before going there. Very low quality of services and very expensive for no reason. When I pay top dollar I expect top service. Instead: Misdiagnosis. Escalating bills. No result. Eventual euthanasia out of a fatal disease that was not diagnosed. Rude front desk behaving non professionally and next-ed over the phone many times when requesting e.g. reason for delay of blood tests results. Similar bad experience to many reviewers here. I would suggest to avoid at all costs.

First off, ACCES diagnosed the problem with our small dog very quickly and specifically the front office clerk was caring and friendly. However, the diagnosis, the quote for a procedure, and the vet were a different story. First, the diagnosis alone cost $588.... and the quote for the necessary surgical procedure was another $3600-$5800. This quote was ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS, and at that point, we were deciding between saving our dog or euthanasia. What was worse is that I felt that the vet was not very sympathetic to our situation; in fact, she was curt and frank AND it felt as those we were being judged in some way as though we were responsible for the infection (we love that little dog and treat her like a queen, so this was the worst. Then, we were left in the room to "think about it" and deliberate going through with the procedure after this behavior from the vet and pay a possible bill of $5800. Frankly, making that decision about life or death be about an unnecessarily outrageous amount money without much sympathy or caring from the vet as though we were bad people was traumatizing. THANKFULLY, we called Vets for Less (in Federal Way) in those minutes we were left alone in the room. Vets for Less quoted us $830-$930 for the exact same procedure and most importantly, we were able to get the procedure started immediately after we made the 40 min drive south to Federal Way. We paid $950 (including $31 for the initial fee). While our experience with Vets for Less in terms of the surgery procedure was perfect, we actually visited this Vets for Less before ACCES and we were unable to get a speedy diagnosis from Vets for Less like we did at ACCES (see a review for Vets for Less coming soon). Frankly, I was torn in giving ACCES 2 stars vs 1 star because I believe that the quick diagnosis was key to saving our dog's life. However, in the end, that our dog is alive and well two weeks after the surgery (about 90% recovery), that we saved up to $3900, and most importantly, that the ACCES vet treated us with zero sympathy and almost like criminals that we did not immediately and blindly say yes to whatever she brought to us made me rate ACCES a 1 star. My advice: get hard to diagnosis work performed at ACCES and get all procedures performed at Vets for Less. Do not let ACCES vets make you feel like a bad people and do not just blindly trust the prices quoted by ACCES vets that may want to punish you!

So thankful to have Blue Pearl close to us! The front desk staff is so caring and thoughtful and the doctors are knowledgeable and amazing too!! Thank you Blue Pearl!

Super friendly and understanding staff. Reasonable prices especially for an emergency clinic

We hit an animal that came out of no where late at night. Unfortunately this poor animal did not die at impact and was suffering tremendously. We did everything we could to wrap it up with a dog bed and some towels we had in our car for comfort. This poor animal was bleeding everywhere but still breathing. We called blue pearl to see if they could humanly euthanize it as it was definitely not going to make it. They said because it was a wild animal they wouldn’t do it. I called two other emergency rooms and they said no problem they would humanly euthanize the animal if we could get it there. We drove to the closest one. Sometimes you can work around rules in order to do the humane thing. Instead of the poor animal bleeding out and dying in the street suffering. It was able to pass in a warm blanket and peacefully from the help of medical providers. Your in the business of animal welfare and the care of animals. Thank you blue pearl for nothing.

These folks are the best. Compassionate, caring, professional, and they really take the time to explain things and help you understand what's going on. We brought our kitty here for surgery with Dr. Walker, which went very well. Unfortunately, our kitty had cancer, so we had to take further measures. We had her treated by Dr Maleo and her staff in Oncology. They did absolutely everything they could to care for our cat, and to show compassion and respect for us, too. We are really lucky to have Blue Pearl to help care for our beloved pets.

Abi Duzan

We had a scare with our kitten this past Saturday night and had a great experience at BluePearl on Aurora. They were kind, efficient, and didn’t nickel and dime us for services. They even called to check in on her this morning! I would definitely recommend them to all of my fellow pet parents. Thank you so much!

Ron Hall

Very cold and mechanical here. After I decided to let my animal be euthanized they forgot about me, according to the front desk. They demanded payment before agreeing to bring me my animal despite arrangements already having been made and got VERY snippy with me about payment. As I carried my cat's body out in a coffin they cheerily said 'have a wonderful evening'. I hope they improve before I have to use them again, I do animal rescue so it will probably happen again but they seemed only too cheery and eager to see me walk out with my dead cat.

My pet cockatiel had a night fright and hurt his wing one night at 3 an. I panicked a bit and found BluePearl. We rushed over and we're greeted quickly and taken care of. They took him in back to the vet right away and took a moment to comfort me in the process. When they came back out they reassured me that he was ok. The vet came back out with him and walked me through what she saw. Since there was no medical procedure needed (his wing stopped bleeding by then) they decided to waive the examination fee. The experience was pleasant, even at 3 AM.

Pet emergency? Sick animal? Pet passing? Here's your place! Great Dr's, and great staff.Todays animal hospitals cost big money, but will BluePearl will be fair and honest. They have free fresh ground coffee, drinks and snacks are available too. When we picked up Sukie most of staff ran out just to tell us they fell in love with her. They also returned 2,700 dollars they did not use! I fell in love with the staff too. My dog swallowed a squeaky toy that ended up logging in her upper intestine, deadly. When we came in to get Sukie the staff also provided the squeaky toy after removal, and all the Dr notes from receptionist notes, nurse intake notes, and Dr notes. They also explained ever aspect of her continued care. Just shows they are as professional and as fair as possible. BLUEPEARL DO NOT CHANGE YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS MODEL! THANKS for saving our dogs life, and being fair about your cost for service.

Freddie Godfrey

Our dog is our child. She's 9 years old, suffers from extreme anxiety and hates being away from us. That all being said, we could not have been more happy with how she was looked after by the staff here at Blue Pearl. She had a fairly major procedure to remove a polyp on her bladder (as well as some stones) and only 3 days later she's bounced back beautifully. These people really and truly care about animals. They may not be the cheapest vet around, but to me that is just a comfort. You can trust Blue Pearl Seattle.

Sharon Riley

I took my cat there years ago and service was ok. But now I have a cat w/ a cut near her eye. And frankly (AND THIS MESSAGE IS FOR BLUE PEARL) I am afraid to take my cat here based on the terrible reviews about both care and absurd expenses. It's scary.

Barbara Abelhauser

When I had to put my beloved dog to sleep unexpectedly, they were very compassionate and kind, and made it the best experience possible under those sad circumstances.

Scotty

If I could rate this place with no stars I would. DO NOT take your pet here, especially for an emergency visit like we did. From the moment we stepped into bluepearl it was a terrible experience. Our puppy was deathly ill, extremely lethargic, couldn't walk, and had uncontrollable bloody diarrhea and vomiting. We were not welcomed with a kind greeting of any sort and were taken back to a room to yet wait another 35-45 minutes on someone to come help. No one was in the waiting room nor in other rooms around us. As the tech finally came and is examining our dog she says absolutely nothing. Wouldn't even guide us through what she was doing or what his temp was so we had to ask a million questions. We waited another 20 minutes for the vet and tech to come in and once again no greeting or asking our dogs name or anything. It was the most unprofessional situation I've ever been in. They were not personable at all nor comforting to us or our puppy. The vet acted like she was on a script with how she spoke with us and had no emotion. They both left to get us a quote which took another 20 minutes. (Our dog is on his death bed at this point) On top of all this, our pup is getting sick all over the room we are in and we are trying our best to clean everything up and they walk in and offer no help, no cleaner, no extra towels, NOTHING, I'm on my hands and knees wiping the floor trying to clean up so none of us step in it. HOW SAD! Next, they bring in the costs and it's $2,000 for 8 hours of care when we were charged $400 at our normal vet clinic for the exact same treatment. We of course began crying because we couldn't afford it and the vet said NOTHING, no suggestions on what else we could do or anything. So we decided to get just enough to hold him over and asked if they could just do a few of the items on the list to hold him over until we could go somewhere else. Once the Vet pumped him with medicine, she handed him over and said nothing. Never said hope he does well or please let us know if you need anything. It was so incredibly disappointing to see a vet who is so emotionless to animals. I pray this post helps someone to not go through what we did. This team made an already horrible night, much much worse.

Run!

My boy has been sick and while not totally recovered I wouldn't miss this opportunity to commend these angels. My dog Harry actually doesn't get nervous when we show which I can tell reflects what I don't see when he goes back. They all love him and understand we want the absolute best care. So we love them! As a pet sitter and owner it's never where you want to be but the entire staff are softies for fur babies, you can tell. Now they are moving to a new place a little less cramped closer to us. Great for this staff to get a fresh place to help our friends. Harry Doodle recommended!

jeff goldberg

24 hours care 7days a week. Nice, friendly staff, Vets are are very professional and listen to your concerns.

Emily Maki

The worst experience beyond having to put my 15 yr old cat down. So unprofessional.

In early 2018 our cat, River, was diagnosed with a severe genetic liver condition. Her diaphragm was ruptured and her liver was protruding from her stomach area into her chest cavity. The doctors at Blue Pearl were realistic and cautious in their chances of success, and after some deliberations we decided to go ahead with the surgery. It was a tough surgery, and River almost didn’t make it. But the staff at blue pearl nursed her back to health over the course of the next 2 weeks. We took her home but after a couple of months River developed trouble breathing. She ended up needing a 2nd surgery. This one hit her really hard, and she spent almost a month in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Blue pearl. But she ended up recovering very well During both prolonged stays I visited River in the ICU everyday, sometimes twice. A couple of things are obvious to me now: 1) I have no doubt whatsoever that the staff at Blue Pearl cares a tremendous amount for their patients 2) They are extremely flexible in visiting hours and you spending time with your pet. 3) The doctors and nurses are very professional, evidence based and numbers driven. 4) They will take care of your pet with whatever means necessary. I also realize that pet health care is expensive. Many people above have mentioned that the care is pricy. This is true and was no different for us. We ended up being fortunate enough to have pet insurance (from Trupanion). I recommend people who care about their pets and live in expensive cities like New York to just get pet insurance. If we hadn’t had this insurance we would’ve had to put down River by now. I also realize that people’s views on care differ purely on health outcomes (bad outcome = 1 star, good outcome = 5 star). I may be biased by that way as well. We will never know how River’s condition would be different if she didn’t have surgery or if we took her to a different hospital. I do however have a pretty good view on the process that took us down this road, and all decisions were sound along the way. The doctors and nurses cared enormously for every single pet in the hospital.

Val received us when we walked in and she took our concern seriously and professionally. She communicated very clearly. We saw our nurse, Joseph, who made us feel like we were the only dog family in the place. He put us at ease about our dog's health without making us feel like our concerns weren't valid. For the first time, I saw my dog's temperature taken without her freaking out. We had gone to our regular clinic first, and they couldn't fit us in. Additionally, the receptionist there wasn't as knowledgeable or effective. When I finally pressed her for an emergency clinic, she recommended Blue Pearl. I'm glad she did. Thank you guys so much!

Laurel Miles

I have had to take my little dog here multiple times because it was after hours or the weekend and my vet wasn't open. My little dog likes to eat things he shouldn't and seems to only do this when an emergency vet is the only option. That said, I am so happy that BluePearl is the available option to treat my pet. The staff is so kind and professional. They have a great facility and work quickly. The vets have given great care to my dog and let me know what I needed to do. I think that BluePearl is reasonably priced as well. Considering they are open 24/7 and 365 days a year, I find their prices for services extremely fair. They also follow up with me and my vet. That is great service!

I took my little cat, June, to BluePearl last night. She had a bloody eye, and I was very worried! I was extremely impressed with BluePearl. Jennifer, the vet tech, took a thorough history, and showed much care, love, and concern for June. Dr. Elliott treated June, and found the scratch on her eyelid. Dr. Elliott spent a lot of time with me, answering all my questions, and explaining what to look for to be sure June's eye was healing. Jennifer and Dr. Elliott gave me clear and helpful discharge instructions. I was informed of the cost of a visit up front, and the cost for the medication was reasonable. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. I'm so glad to know BluePearl is here for emergencies for my two sweet kitties! Thank you!

On Sunday morning we notice that our dog was licking his backside a lot and when we looked saw that one of his anal glands was red and swollen (he had an impacted gland on the same side a few years ago) Since our regular vet was closed we did not want to wait until Monday with the chance it could get worse and rupture. My first impression of Blue Pearl was a nice clean location with friendly staff. We only waited 30 minutes to see the vet, which I expected longer since it was an ER facility. After taking our dog to the back they explained that his gland was impacted but they think they caught it early enough and gave us an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory and told us to schedule an appointment with our regular vet. I was hesitant because the last time he had to have it drained but I figured they knew best. We went home and later on that day he would not stop pacing the house and was panting, I called Blue Pearl and told them what he was doing and that I think it might be getting worse. They told me it was normal and to just make sure to give him the medicine. Well, around 8:30 that evening it ruptured. Again, I called Blue Pearl and stated that he had blood back there and I thought it may have ruptured...again they told me it was normal and to make an appointment with my vet tomorrow. The next morning we took him to our regular vet which confirmed that it did in fact rupture. He now has a hole where the gland is which will take 1+ week to heal and needs to be continuously cleaned. I am livid and beyond upset that this happened. I can only imagine the pain my dog experienced, all of which could have been avoided if they had drained it earlier that day or when I called out of concern had told me to come back to have him checked again. (I should have trusted my gut initially as well). Based on my experience, I question the competency of the staff. I will continue to tell others my experience and deter anyone from using Blue Pearl's services.

Our 7 year old Pomeranian was diagnosed with oral melanoma, an aggressive cancer, in late December/early January. Our vet (Southside) referred us to Dr.Lucas at bluepearl. We were frustrated by how long it took to get Jackson in to see her due to the aggressive nature of the cancer, but Dr. Lucas took excellent care of Jackson and was always in and out of the office when she was supposed to be off. She is definitely in high demand, which might have contributed to the amount of time it took to get Jackson in. It's obvious how passionate Dr. Lucas is for the animals under her care. Some staff were not always kind or helpful, but most were. The vet techs were also kind and compassionate. Yes, treatment was extremely expensive, but we would have regretted not trying at all. We made the decision to let our Jackson go peacefully in mid February. He was suffering and going downhill fast. Blue pearl was compassionate and gave us plenty of time to say goodbye to our Jackson. We would go there again in the future for emergency care.

Just to stay over night and 2 xrays cost $800! They also misdiagnosed. Told me my dog would need a pin in her pelvic and would not be able to have puppies. Took to my vet at Williamson County and they said no to both! Just need to keep her confined for 4 weeks.

Our experience with Blue Pearl has been excellent! Our 4 yr old Maltese had a liver shunt that was discovered by ultrasound at Blue pearl. The Dr's explained clearly and concisely the risks and costs involved. 2 years later our fur child is healthy and happy. I highly recommend Blue Pearl.

Katie Thayer

The entire team at BluePearl (Doctors, Nurses and Administrative) went above and beyond for us during our visit/stay and saved my pet's life. These are caring and compassionate professionals. I would highly recommend visiting this location if you find yourself in need of an emergency vet.

zihan chen

They charged me $200 to clean my dog's surgery opener.

Potter Ali

Although the doctors were very knowledgeable I feel a certain vet tech was rude arrogant and would not even consult with the vet about my concerns Even refused to ask. They are also very expensive.

Elizabeth Maloney

I am so appreciative of the staff at Blue Pearl. When my cat became unexpectedly sick, I couldn't even think straight. Dr. Ross was calm and patient and did an excellent job explaining to my husband and me what was going on and what our options were. She handled the situation with dignity and respect for my little guy. Even though it was a difficult time, I couldn't have asked for more professional people to handle such a difficult situation.

trent thynes

All women staff. Rudest experience I've had at vets office. Brought my dog in for because of an infection and was talked down to like an idiot while having poorly explained instructions given to me. I only came in because my primary vets office was closed. But I will say they did a fine job with my dog and the care itself was great.

Georgia Evans

My poodle broke his leg New Years Day. Not a simple little break. A spiral break that needed all kinds of "parts" to keep his little bone together. They new exactly how to fix him through surgery. He had to stay with them for 2 nights. We could call all hours of the night if we wanted. Every time I called they knew exactly who my dog was. They emailed me his aftercare and prescription instructions BEFORE I ever picked him up so I knew what to expect and could ask questions. They were clean and very well staffed. I would take my animals there any day. They are sweet souls and some of the kindest people you will meet.

I cannot say enough good things about the vet staff here. My cat was referred here by vet to figure out some odd test results/symptoms. Ultimately, he had to have surgery. Both Dr. Waugh and my surgeon were incredibly compassionate and explained everything to me thoroughly. I never felt rushed (unlike when i go myself to doctor). I very much appreciated the fact that I was told to call at any time of day/night to check on my baby and they encouraged that. Every time I called, i was immediately put in contact with a vet staff member who was taking care of him. The staff here went a long way to making this process much less scary/stressful.

Jennifer Gustafson

We had to put down our very beloved Golden Retriever who was very old and at the end of his life. Everyone in the office was so kind to us, and the process so seem less. They kept telling us to take our time and we did. It was excruciating but the care we received made it bearable. Never did I feel rushed or traumatized. It was the most respectful peaceful end to a beautiful life, and we appreciated every kind word and acknowledgement of our grief. Thank you all so much!

Sue Wilson

We have had a couple of recent visits to Blue Pearl and received excellent service each time - as we had several years ago with another dog (at Lake City location). We are grateful that the new state-of-the-art Blue Pearl facility is closeby!

Amanda Lee

I am so thankful that 24 hour emergency places such as BluePearl exist. I was terrified to come home from a walk to find my precious cat with a swollen shut, inflamed left eye. I knew that the exam fee would be higher than a regular vet due to the fact that it was an emergency clinic but it was honestly worth every penny. I feel as if the doctor/staff were also very considerate in that sense that they did not perform or even ask to perform tests etc that were not completely necessary and recommended I follow up with a regular veterinarians office if the problem doesn't get better. They are NOT out to get your money like some other places I have experienced in the past. The staff was warm, welcoming and right to the point. My sweet baby cat is ok and that's all that matters. Do note they do not perform vaccinations or shots of any sort which I found odd at first but after some thought it makes sense, the traffic of clients just wanting shots would back up the office for patients with serious emergency issues. I would have most likely gotten my baby up to date on shots while I was here though if they did offer it. overall, if your pet has an EMERGENCY, this is absolutely the place to go.

Drew Cress

Expensive but rightfully so. Some of the most professional and personal people I've met. We looked at transferring to less costly places as a way to continue treatment if Chula's health dip again. The other vets highly recommend we continue with BluePearl as they where the best to handle the situation and we do pay for what we get. The BluePearl facility where outstanding too. Not only cleaner than all the vets we visited but cleaner than many hospitals I've been to as well. I'd hate to do it again but I know where I'm going if need be.

Sam Wright

Very surprised about the rating of this place. I assume most people have a problem with the cost. It can be expensive, but It's a 24 hr EMERGENCY clinic in mid-town Manhattan... expect higher prices.. but also expect to deal with experts. Without a doubt, BluePearl saved my dog's life from a pancreatic infection! Over three days my dog of 15 yrs went from chasing Pigeons and chewing his favorite stuffed duck to throwing up bile and not being able to move. Had we played it conservative and waited until the morning to go to a regular doctor instead of going straight to BluePearl, Red would be dead. The staff at BluePearl are the best I have ever worked with. They are fully equipped to handle any need and will work with you to put a practical action plan together. They even found a misdiagnosis that I have been paying for each month for the last year. These folks are pros. If you need the best, the Chelsea BluePearl is where you should be. ***Red is miraculously back to his old ways… albeit a little.. no, a lot… more clingy, but death’s door will do that to anyone I guess. We are thankful to have him and very glad we went to BluePearl

Sterling Rich

They are a malpractice vet. They kill animals. Do not take your animals to this place!!

Wendy Sullivan

Kevin Au is fantastic. He rebuilt one of my dog's back knees (TPLO surgery) after a torn ACL. It was so worth the time and $. Dog is running 3-4 miles a day again. He is very, very skilled. Highly recommend...

I am SO impressed with BluePearl North Seattle on every level. Staff is amazing, compassionate, and patient and the facility is top notch. Dr. Harmon really took the time to listen to me, learn about my dog's history and situation, and explain complex things simply. He was so incredibly kind to me and my dog, and his expertise was apparent. I couldn't be happier with our care there, it is very clear that they truly care about their patients and clients, and have the best of the best staff and equipment. This is now my go-to specialty and after hours clinic, even though I live in Bellingham!

The adventures of TT and Ry Ry

I want to thank the staff and vets at Blue Pearl for the amazing care not only for me but for my dog, Cisco during an emergency. They responded quickly and although he passed away, they were unbelievably compassionate and kind. I was given more than enough time to spend with him before and after he passed and the staff was extremely kind and respectful in my time of loss! I would not hesitate to bring my other pets here! As a long time customer of Banfield Pet Hospital, I will be changing over to Blue Pearl.

A.M. Kelsey

Great vet, especially in an emergency. Nice new facility.

Jonathan Wexler

I'm not a client, nor have I interacted with the staff, but I know some people who have had similar bad experiences with this place, confusing and contradicting answers from staff, and a mess/whirlwind of a time at this location. So, I want to know: why? To BluePearl: I've read some of your responses to the reviews below and they seem half-hearted. What have you done to improve? I'm under the impression that prices are still unreasonable and client-interaction is still uncomfortable. Why are you like this and what steps have you taken to earn a better review? I hope your response to this query will help inform others, who are often in dire need of your support for their pets. I left this same review on your other location, only to find that this location has an even worse rating. Bizarre! Imagine the sadness and frustration your customers have to face when urgently looking for pet care and they see you only have 2 stars...

They were great when I brought in my kitten who had been in a cat fight. It was a Sunday so of course my regular vet wasn't open. I was able to call ahead and they were even able to give me an estimate of how much it would cost. This was very helpful as this was a concern for me. I thought the price was fair and liked that it did not change from what they told me. Honestly, it was a little cheaper than if I had gone to my regular vet. Anyways, they did a great job fixing up my little kitten and didn't even have to sedate him which I thought was impressive as he was a feral kitten and very skittish. Also, they went ahead and filled separate syringes with the proper doses of medicine for each day which was the extra touch that has had me recommend this place in an emergency to all my friends with pets.

Felt like being safely tucked away on a cold stormy night...After taking our baby in for a severe allergic reaction, we knew he was in good hands the moment we met the staff...A friendly, attentive, and sharp team of caregivers ! We could sleep that night, only because, we were confident that our baby would always have someone monitoring him...Thank you Dr. Elliott and staff !!!!

If you love your pets like your children or take them as children then this place will too!!! very Professional and willing to go the extra mile to make sure your pet/child is good to go home Or will keep them and help the very best they can a smidge on the expensive side however it's worth it for you loved ones

Ian Ockerby

The ladies on the reception desk where totally amazing , however from there it all goes down hill very fast! My dog had a cough and was trying to cough something up but the vet Dr Westerhout said that he was fine nothing wrong, maybe a slight cold but he is fine and I should stop worrying. After taking my dog to the vet this morning he has been diagnosed with Bronchitis and its infectious and he is on medication now. BE WARNED I WILL NEVER TAKE MY DOG HERE AGAIN, MISS DIAGNOSIS AND A TOTAL WASTE OF BLOODY MONEY

I came across Blue Pearl last night, when I had found an injured (looked to be partially paralyzed) squirrel from a hawk attack. Everyone I called forwarded me to Walden's Puddle, but unfortunately they were closed. Otherwise when they called me this morning, they would have been more than happy to help. In any event, I wasn't willing to let the poor guy suffer like that, and Dr. Ferrari at Blue Pearl was kind enough to euthanize him humanely, and pro bono. I offered to pay, but he wouldn't accept reimbursment. I can't say enough good things about that simple act of kindness. That goes a long way with me, to not let the animal suffer.

JR Fetzer

Ask for COSTs up front! Our dog has seizures about once a year and we took him in to make sure he was ok. We have used emergency vets before, but this clinic's cost are double what we have encountered! It was a real hardship on our family to have an almost $500 bill for just a urinalysis, CBC, catheter (in case he had a seizure while we were there) and a consult with the vet.

Nikky Hill

The staff at Blue Pearl is fantastic, they did a great job handling my fearful english mastiff while he was having serious medical problems, and while the charges were steep I was very pleased with the care my dog received.

Jay Walter

I want to keep this short and I was impressed with the doctors and techs here they are very informative they let you know everything they explain things to you however I spent $11000 for 6 nights of hospitalization for a dog that had to be Put down it's a little bit frustrating and very very very expensive I believe almost double what you should have to pay For non surgery hospitalization... It's a specialty animal hospital located in a very very very wealthy area so expect to pay a lot. My feelings are a little bit ambivalent about blue pearl because I do believe they tried to save my dog but when they hand you that estimate with all of the itemizations on it it's just very disheartening when it's an amount like that....I will miss you Boo Boo

This place is really special. We came home to find our dog had injured her leg. We took her to BluePearl and they put us in a room immediately. The team was extremely professional with great bedside manner and they had our girl checked out right away, giving us several options for treatment. We were in and out within an hour or so, with prescriptions in hand. Most importantly, our puppy got the treatment she needed and is doing just fine! Thanks to everyone at Blue Pearl

I brought my cat to this clinic on a Sunday after he began showing signs of a UTI. Long story short, they did a physical exam followed by bloodwork and determined he likely had Chronic Kidney Disease. They gave him antibiotics and told me to follow up with my regular vet to proceed with CKD treatment. The next day when my vet examined my cat the first thing she noticed when touching him was a huge mass in his intestinal area. The vet at Blue Pearl specifically noted "NO Masses in the abdomen". My vet also said the bloodwork was not consistent with CKD at all. I also sent the bloodwork to another vet with the same answer - definitely not CKD. I am sure that others have had good treatment at this facility, but my experience was not at all satisfactory and much overcharged for wrong results.

Nicole Courides

My cat got his paw stuck in a toy and the staff handled it (and me) perfectly. Friendly and great service. Highly recommended.

Melanie Arrowood

We have had a good experience in the past but unfortunately last night's visit didn't fall into that category. Everyone was very friendly, but it felt extremely unorganized and like everyone was hyped up on caffeine, for their first ever day on the job. The doctor talked in circles a hundred miles an hour and we felt even more exhausted than when we arrived. The issue we came in for was not properly addressed. Instead of addressing the emergency, they started trying to play regular vet and up-sell. They took her back, (for maybe 5 minutes) did some vitals and all we got out of that was "she didn't show any signs of distress with me. It could be a an adrenaline rush keeping her pain away". They didn't suggest we hang out to give her time to calm down and observe her. They never said what they did, or even a suggestion as to what it could be. She just kept going back to non emergency things we already have a doctor for. They did say they could do x-rays but no one would read them until Monday. My dog had trouble getting up, breathing extremely heavily and was crying in pain and we left there with a script for a medication you have to wean them off of and advice to follow up with our vet.

I had the opposite experience from a reviewer below...we were driving home from dinner and saw that a raccoon has just been hit by a car and was alive, and bleeding horribly in the middle of the street. I wrapped him in my jacket and moved him to sidewalk. We called 2 after hours vets (couldn't contact PAWS as it was 6:45pm) before a neighbor came out to see what was going on and said he had taken his cat to Blue Pearl up on Aurora. We called and they said they did in fact do humane euthanasia on wildlife (they do not treat, but would euthanize). This poor guy was not going to make it, was suffering terribly, unable to move and bleeding everywhere. We went up, the staff was so nice and they put him out of his misery immediately. I have nothing but positive words for Blue Pearl in Seattle. Thank you for being compassionate and helping to end the suffering of this raccoon.

That ppl have a monetary approach to animal care. It's a corporation. It feels like it. I felt like they pushed up on my bill. I was not impressed by the front night staff or the intern which saw my non-critical pets. I would go back if necessary off hrs but would not allow an intern again to be the primary Vet when dealing w an unknown situation. But I heard several testimonies on diff occasions from educated ppl about how their Specialist staff did remarkable things for their animals.

These guys were able to see my dog pretty much instantly when he got into my dad’s medication. They took him back for treatment no questions asked and did all the paper work and everything afterwards. I was so flustered, I actually walked out without giving them my debit card, and they just called a little later and let me give them the info over the phone. I’ve been to a veterinary hospital where it is all about the $$$, and I’m glad to say Blue Pearl is different.

I came in with an elderly dog who has seen quit a few pet er's in her time. I have to say they were extremely nice, caring, thorough and accommodating which is VERY hard to say for most places with 24 hour er vet. We were told up front all that could be done including possibly side effects and outcomes with great detail. Then the dreaded price talk time.. I was in shock! They weren't charging me crazy prices for things i didn't need to be done. Price points to choose from and what's necessary and what can wait. I will only go here for any and all emergencies with my pets. Hoping I never have to but would be comfortable if it was to happen.

If there would be an option to leave 0 stars I would. This is just rediculous! Worst experience ever. I overpay the market price for the ultra sound and ask it to be sent to me as usual. Any other clinic does it. I specifically asked before I made an appointment and at the time of appointment if I would receive the results. I was assured by the team that I would be. Now after spending all day arguing with representatives of the clinic I still don’t have my result and last call she decided to hang up on me. Worst service I have experienced in NY. Paying $600 and not even getting my money worth of products! Ridiculous!

We went to this hospital when our dog got bleeding all around our house after her surgery. I was panicked and literally ran into the building. They are very welcomed and sympathetic about my dog. Since I was told that I may have to wait for two hours when I called some other veterinary hospital, it was nice the vet can see her soon. They took her to the room and that told us it is a part of healing process so she is fine. Both veterinarian and nurse were sweet to my dog and very nice to us. I am very happy about my experience. Highly recommended.

Don't bother walking in the door unless you have a thousand dollars in cash or credit. Veterinary medicine has been taken over by Big Pharma and Big Medi. Good luck on getting help if you're not rich. My cat died because I couldn't get the right help in time!

Nice vet in a pinch, but way overpriced.

BluePearl is a wonderful emergency vet experience. Their staff is friendly, professional and willing to go the extra mile. My dog had a series of nasty accidents. While juggling a toddler, they made me feel calm and safe in getting my dog the care she needed. If you're in the area and need emergency pet medical assistance, go here!

My dog died. She was a teacup poodle and had been attacked by a large dog, but the staff were very kind and they responded quickly.

This is the exact email I sent to BluePearl, which they will not respond to: I’m writing in reference to the treatment my dog received earlier this year from Dr. Judith Seltzer. Dr. Seltzer used a highly unnecessary and volatile drug called rifampin to treat my dog for various types of bacterial infections. Almost as soon as he started taking the medication, we noticed adverse side effects and brought the dog in for another exam. Dr. Seltzer wanted to put him on further medication in addition to keeping him on rifampin, but we pushed for an additional biopsy to make sure we knew what was going on before shoving more pills on him. Turns out he was diagnosed with pemphigus. Dr. Seltzer called to give me the news, I knew nothing about the auto-immune disorder, except that Dr. Seltzer said it was common for bulldogs breeds and that the cause likely “just happens”. I asked if we should change any of his medicine, she said no. In less than two minutes of Googling I learned that pemphigus is more often drug-induced than a simple “just happens”—and guess what drug induces it? Rifampin—Which Dr. Seltzer informed me to continue administering to my dog. I called back and asked her why she didn’t tell me this and why she would tell us to continue giving my dog this horrible medicine—she said she “didn’t know” it induced this disorder. Again, less than two minutes of Googling. We have now had to take my dog to see multiple specialists and have learned this will be a life-long autoimmune disorder that he will have to combat. After heavy use of steroids in the attempt to put this disorder into remission, my dog now has Calcinosis cutis on top of pemphigus. This unnerving cycle all started as a result of Dr. Selzter’s gross negligence in administering incredibly severe and unnecessary medication (often used to treat TB as opposed to bacterial infections) without understanding the side effects. And then after my husband and I, not the doctor, pushed for a biopsy we had a clear understanding of what this side effect was, and still she “didn’t know.” It’s taken me some time to come out and write this, as I hoped with every visit to a specialist that he would get better-but he isn’t, and I’m furious. Dr. Seltzer has killed all the joy and happiness that made my dog who he is and I can never forgive her, nor Blue Pearl for that. My dog is now living a very miserable and uncomfortable life, not to mention the severe financial burden, as a result of Dr. Seltzer UPDATE: Medical director called me, not Dr. Seltzer, and refused to admit any fault and keep insisting that even though there are mountains of documents and publications bringing attention to the correlation between rifampin and pemphigus, that she wasn't able to locate any that specifically noted the correlation in dogs. This is clearly an attempt on their behalf to legally absolve themselves from any liability. Additionally, after using lots of language making it clear that her intentions had nothing to do about the actual well-being of my dog, I stopped and asked her, "You know in the entire 30 minutes we've been on the phone with you deflecting responsibility, not once, not a single time, have you asked how my dog is or if he is even still alive?" That's the kind of service you get at Blue Pearl. They care more about liability and money than about the health of your pet.

We need to put them out of business!! Class action suit!!

Great for cremation services. And the fee is reasonable. But late night emergencies? They suck. Waited over 2 hours and when we told the Vet the dog had bad teeth issues issues and that's why we suspected he was sick, she blew us off. Ended up taking him to another Vet and he had 5 abcessed teeth that had to be pulled and antibiotics given!!! Primadona Vets who ignore owners or feel threatened by someone who may just know what they are talking about, have NO BUSINESS BEING IN BUSINESS.

JaneA Kelley

I went there because my cat is a blood donor (yes, that is a thing). The receptionists were kind and helpful, and if I ever have a pet medical emergency, I won't hesitate to go there. My vet recommends thus hospital for emergency and specialist care, and I trust my vet's advice, too.

Listen to the reviews that say money driven monsters!! We were referred to Bluepearl by our vet when we noticed our dog had a large oozing sore on top of her nose. They were supposed to be specialists... well they couldn't tell us what it was either. They recommended a biopsy, which had to be sent away and they told us we had to wait for the results before they could initiate treatment. A couple days later it was getting much worse and clearly painful for our dog. Her face was literally melting away. We called and emailed Bluepearl several times asking them to start something for her. They didn't respond because it was the weekend. We couldn't wait so we had ended up taking her back to our original vet, who immediately began treatment. A bunch of steroids later, her face is almost completely healed. A week and half later they called us with the biopsy results that couldn't specify what it was either. They said it was some sort of bite (couldn't even tell us insect or spider) and she had an allergic reaction to it. So basically we spent $800 for them to tell us our dog is allergic to bugs. I'm glad we didnt wait that whole time to treat her because she probably wouldn't have much of a nose left...but they didn't seem too concerned with her wellbeing. I don't recommend taking your loved one to this place, they just want your money.

Jessica Holden

Least helpful office ever. My dog was just diagnosed with an osteosarcoma and we were referred here by our vet for a possible bone biopsy. I called to get a quote for the biopsy, as recommendation from my vet, to see if it was something we even wanted to put our dog through. The lady said that this is a referral based oncologist and they would call me to schedule a consultation. The consultation fee is $130 and they would talk about out options and at that point give me a price for the bone biopsy. I asked her if she could please just give me a ballpark and she refused. She was very cold and acted like my request was ridiculous. She also acted like how dare I even call and ask for a price. With that kind of customer service from the get go, why would I pay any of my money to these people?

This is long overdue. I brought my cat in that was suddenly wheezing one night at 9 PM. From everything I was hearing and know ( i'm a healthcare professional ) and from what my mother who is a cardiology nurse was telling me from the x-ray and symptoms that it was most likely his lungs. The vet there only had one other patient that evening while I was sitting there in til 6 AM with him in the oxygen tank. The entire time the vet was horribly rude to me, kept telling me I absolutely had to put him down because he had congestive heart failure her and he would have a horrible life, and dismissed any comments I made about it possibly being something to do with his Lungs even commenting that my 'mom was only a nurse and she was a doctor of animals so she knew better'. I was told I would need $5000 for a cardiology visit for them to hold them there for a day. I was in grad school so I had no money for that. The vet also made other demeaning remarks as I was calling banks to find money for my cat and again she commented at one point 'do you really think that's going to happen tonight.' I was bawling and had a final at 8 AM. The next vet came in and thought it would be OK to test him at home and see how he does with their recommendations of three different expensive heart meds. I sent an appointment for the cardiologist that following Monday and waited over the weekend while my cat was agony, not not able to move, crying on the floor from being laid out from the Heart meds. When I brought him in to the cardiologist, she came out 10 minutes later saying his heart is fine get him off the meds immediately, he has asthma. I called and spoke with the clinical manager about the rudeness and horrible bedside manner's of the vet and how I almost put down my beloved cat over asthma and her horrible encouragement of me to put down my animal without further investigation. I believe they refunded me $200 of the $2000 it cost me that night. I just learned today a friend brought her cat in that had a broken jaw from a dog and the vet immediately told her that she should put her cat down. My friend freaked out screaming why would I put my cat down over a broken jaw. I was compelled do you write this review after hearing her horrible experience that sounded like mine. I am guessing it is the same vet as she told me it was a woman and this woman has no business taking care of people's beloved pets. I have been here in the past and emergencies and they have been OK with ultrasounds although terribly expensive but this experience was beyond me and I almost lost my cat over it. I have since been partnered with holistic vets and have found that most of these western clinics don't really care about the individual or the pet. For example, buying Saline solution for my cat and kidney failure cost me over $33 At these vets. My holistic vet told me I could buy them from her at $14 and that that was a double mark up for her. She said she was appalled that vets are just gouging people left and right. I've had several horrible experiences between here and two other vets where they did not listen to me and almost killed my cat, literally. As I said, I am a healthcare professional so I know a little about diseases and their symptoms. If you decide to bring your animal here for emergency, I urge you to not listen to them if their first response is you need to euthanize your animal. I believe this vet thinks it's just easier to euthanize rather than actually caring for the animals, people's family members. I surely hope the brings attention to the staff and to better your practices and to employ reputable, trustworthy veterinarians. If I was not bawling my eyes out that night, I would have been at that veterinarians throat as she was one of the rudest people I have met in this life.

Took our dog in after midnight and got a quick visit/diagnosis. Can't ask for more. Pup is all better now!

Unfortunately they are more concerned about money than pet health. They are all caught up in red tape and procedure and won't allow a doctor to follow up with me after I've spent hundreds of dollars at their facility. Go to Animal Medical instead.

*Read this before considering taking your pet to BluePearl* My regular vet recommended this hospital. Being in an emergency situation I didn’t second-guess or look around for other care but wish I could/would have. BluePearl may have skilled doctors that know how to treat your animal medically, but they do not know how to treat the owners/clients, nor do they display morals or sensitivity whatsoever. What a completely money hungry & insensitive Hospital chain. When it was determined my dog need emergency surgery they wanted to make sure I had a way to pay before they even performed. They had me apply for care credit since I had no other means to pay & they immediately took my card number to put it in the computer. 3 days after my dog surgery & continuing to make daily visits to her, I went to the front desk to make yet another visit. The woman working the desk said there was a note in the computer that I had to pay the low end of my estimate or I could not continue to see my dog. Mind you, the low-end of my estimate was over $5600! They would not let me see my dog unless I paid this! What kind of establishment would do this! She wasn’t even released but yet they demanded my money! Obviously upset, & in a vulnerable position with the condition of my dog affecting me, I paid the money. As if it wasn’t bad enough that they did this, there was a downfall of problems following. Firstly, when they had given me the pamphlet for care credit it said that they could do up to 60 months special financing. No one bothered to tell me that even though this financing option was in the pamphlet, this location does not offer that, they only offer 48 months special financing. Now learning this new information and them sitting in front of me demanding this money to see my dog, I went ahead and did the 48 months. 3 days later my dog was released. When I went to go pick her up there was a different woman at the desk. When she looked at the computer confused & realized they had charge me the $5600 to continue to see my dog she got her supervisor & even apologize because she said this is not typical practice or how they do business. Despite the fact that she did apologize, neither she or the supervisor had a reason as to why this was done to me. To then add insult to injury, the remaining of my balance was just over $600 which was not enough money to meet the threshold for the 48 month special financing with care credit. Therefore, this remaining balance for these 3 days had to go under only a 6 months special financing option. To this day, I do not have an answer as to how my payment is going to be applied on my care credit account now that both balances are under different promotions. What an absolute disaster! Even after all of this nonsense no one has done anything to help me or fix any of this!! Now I have had to apply for a new credit card and pay a 5% balance transfer fee just to get all of this moved over under one lump sum and one financing promotion. So now I am out even more money thanks to their screw up. On top of that, this hospital has Frankie‘s fund as far as charities. I applied for assistance but got denied just over the fact that I got approved for care credit. Even though I wrote in about my circumstances I still got denied. When I spoke to the hospital about this they really didn’t seem to want to do anything to see if any exceptions can be made. Absolutely disgusted with how I was treated and can only hope this is not the experience of every individual that goes there! Can’t believe they wouldn’t even do anything to fix all of these issues. I will not be back or be recommending them to anyone. In fact, I will be specifically not recommending them to anyone & telling all who knows of them to avoid this hospital at all costs! - Side-note: the surgery they performed actually did not work & my dogs release paperwork said she had pain sensation when she was brought in which absolutely was not the case and cause more confusion with the doctors when I started her in therapy.

We took our black lab here for cancer treatment and radiation. Dr Meleo and staff were top notch. Friendly, communicative, knowledgeable and gave great care to our dog. I couldn't be happier with the care he received. Thanks to the staff at Blue Pearl!

These guys were so good with my dog, he was diagnosed with chf and we went to blue pearl to see a cardiologist, Dr.Harmon. His vet tech Tarah was very sweet and really honest which I really aporeciated. Dr. Harmon was great, took his time with me explained everything very well and even gave me donated pet meds for free that were beyond what I could afford. These people genuinely seem to care about the well being of animals and were so wonderful dealing with both my dog and myself. I highly recommend going to BluePearl!

Horrible wait time... Was here for over 2 1/2 hours waiting for the vet to give my dog some pills for his knee.

My diabetic cat got into some dry high carb food and went into a sort of diabetic shock (DKA). He was recently diagnosed with diabetes and we were in transition of switching him to a high protein wet food diet. This place took advantage of emotions and my wallet. Did they restore my Tommy back to health, yes. But I had to practically pull him out a day early (against the vets reccomendation) due to the continuing cost of his stay. They quoted me $3k-$5k based on a 3-5 day stay. Well after a short 48 hours there, his bill amounted to $3,500. I was very disappointed in the estimates being so off. Not only that, the billing breakdown was hard to understand however I did find one error that saved me $64. Curious how much else was wrong on there that I couldn’t understand. But that’s not what bothered me the most. What bothered me the most is that the vet, Dr. Hann sent his insulin prescription to the pharmacy without consulting with me on the two options of an insulin pen vs the bottle. The pen would have been only $85 and the bottle was $272. The pharmacy even suggested this to them when they called in the order however they were “snippy” (pharmacists words) with them and said no. So imagine my surprise when I went in to get his medicine and had to pay for the bottle. You’d think after spending as much as I did, they’d educate me on my options and offer me a cost alternative. Why buy 1000ml when I can buy 300ml? So I take my cat to his primary vet a week later for a check up and find out he is in remission (as expected due to the diet change) and will not need insulin. Now I’m even more livid that I have a three month supply when I could saved money on a one month supply. I would not recommend this place for your cat.

We're dogsitting a friends great dane while he's out of town and she came up sick. We brought her in and the staff was on it from minute one. They were caring and friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to take her home the next day to convalesce there and when I came back in for some meds they we they remembered exactly who she was. I wouldn't hesitate to take a pet there again.

We brought our kitten in for a most unfortunate circumstance and we were both very concerned about the well being of our kittens leg. Dr. Bethany Mullins was extremely helpful, friendly, and comforting regarding the tough situation. I highly recommend going to help for treatment for your animal, she's the best I've had the privilege of coming to!

We've had both of our dogs in care with BluePearl. The quality of the care and the people have been tremendous in our experience. Both of our dogs lives have been saved multiple times under their care. While the service is not cheap I expected to pay a premium at a specialty and emergency practice. I have always found their expertise to be on point and their staff friendly and supportive in all situations. I have no hesitation in recommending BluePearl.

My sweet kitty had labored breathing and had to spend a couple days at Blue Pearl to get better. Everyone there was so kind and loving towards her, as if she were their own. Dr. Waugh kept me updated throughout the day and this really eased my fears. She is such a BEAUTIFUL person, inside and out!! She was very sweet, compassionate and answered ALL of my questions. You can tell she really loves what she does and understands how special the bond is between people and their pets. Their entire team is dedicated and knowledgeable. Thank you so much for everything!

One of the worst nights of my life, but I was treated with so much kindness and respect that it made the process of losing my beloved pet a little bit easier. Everyone that I dealt with, from the reception, to the vet-techs and Dr, were professional, respectful, and most of all, kind. Dr McNeil was optimistic but real, and then honest and upfront when it was time to let go. It made all the difference in the midst of such a difficult process. I hope I will never need to take a pet to the ER again, but if I ever do, without a shadow-of-a-doubt, this is where I'd go. From both Sadie and I, Thank you.

They wouldn't help my dog that was dying until I paid five thousand dollars for a blood transfusion and she died anyway...they are money driven.

Derek Robertson

Very caring doctors. I took my lab here at 3 am worried she might be deathly ill. Turns out I’m just an overly concerned dog-dad who didn’t know how to deal with an overly dramatic dog. They walked alongside me and were very caring and thoughtful. My dog is a nervous wreck around vets but she was very calm with the staff here. They gave me options of treatment along the way and didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need. Great overall experience and my dog left better than before!

Brian Mills

While the staff and doctors were great, we paid a lot of money for tests CT scans biopsies etcetera, only to be told they weren't sure what the problem was. We were led to believe that all of these procedures would give us an answer. Very frustrating.

Ahmad Elshenawy

*Overall* The facilities are clean, the staff was mostly friendly and helpful, and they offer treatments that, for the time being just can’t be found anywhere else. Post-treatment care was appalling. They were so blatantly disinterested in his well being or investigating issues after the main part of the treatment that I grow more upset with it by the day. We deserved better. My cat deserved better. *Facilities* The space was clean and well maintained, lots of services offered. *Staff* The front desk staff was friendly, patient and helpful. The vet techs we worked with were great too. We had issues with the oncologist. She was often defensive and particularly sensitive to our asking questions or pursuing options. We did a lot of research into treatments and options on how to treat our pet, and the oncologist often seemed irritated with our questions and investigations. We were often told how busy and important she was, being the only radiation oncologist in the state, and she oft made it clear how limited the time she was able/willing to put aside for our pet was. If we were overly inquisitorial, it’s only because someone we cared for was terribly ill and we were devastated. The other staff at the facility were always patient and understanding (front desk, techs), but the vet herself had a much lower tolerance. On more than one occasion she got visibly agitated with us, lecturing us on how we needed to respect her and her time. It got to the point where talking with her felt like walking on eggshells. Not exactly appropriate behavior towards people in such a difficult situation. *Time* This place struggled when it came to time and keeping appointments. The techs were understanding and tried their best to keep us on a regular schedule, but the place just did a poor job of keeping things timely. Appointments often started late and everything big or small took all day. I get that it’s an animal hospital and sudden cases arrive that throw the schedule off, but the regularity of the their tardiness suggests less to do with emergency interruptions and more of a coordination issue. *Post-Treatment Care* By far the worst part of our experience. After the radiation course was finished, the oncologist clearly de-prioritized our pet, so much so that we should have gone somewhere else after the radiation had finished. When our pet continued to lose weight week over week, despite our best efforts at home to entice, the oncologist just prescribed a stimulant. Anything more was met with a shrug and a “just keep on trying I guess” sort of response. When we were told our pet was dehydrated, they offered nothing to treat this. We took him to another vet who sensibly prescribed subcutaneous fluids, a common home treatment for cats with hydration issues. Bluepearl never once mentioned this as an option. When our pet began experiencing other oddities that we reported in his check ups, we were given a consistent response of “that’s unusual, just keep an eye on it”. With hindsight, it’s clear now how these symptoms were indicative of recurrence, but what’s galling is how little time and attention investigating these things got from the vet when reported. We were given transdermal meds that ended up causing significant damage to the skin on his ears. We were never told these types of meds could cause this. It’s baffling that the medical staff never warned us. When we got the tragic call that the last scan had found recurrence, we got one call from the vet giving us the bad news, and that was it. No further interest or discussion in treatments or options, just a curt “sorry to tell you this” and that was it. They never contacted us again to see how he was doing or what his situation was. If the facility and oncologist are so set on focusing only on the radiation aspect of treatment, it's wrong of them not to refer a different vet that would actually focus on post-care treatment, not just skate by on the bare minimum while focusing on other patients that are undergoing radiation.

Dr Waugh and her staff are incredibly sweet and sensitive! They took such good care of our very sick dog, Smokey. We went there for a second opinion and to see if anything could be done about his aggressive cancer diagnosis. They took their time with us and with Smokey. They were so good to him. They presented our options to us and they were very sensitive to our heartbreak and devastation. We had prepared ourselves for the worst. Even though there were some treatment options that were only going to prolong his suffering a few months and never cure him due to the late stage of his cancer (and he was 11 years old) we made the heart wrenching decision to give him peace. During that process they were very supportive and caring. We have received cards and follow ups from their office since that visit. The death of our sweet Smokey has been very hard and they made it a little easier. They really do care! Thank you Dr. Waugh and Staff!

Mike Harman

Very nice facility and we like Dr Harmon

Dr. Au was so thorough in my dog's pre-op appointment that he discovered a stomach ulcer that I didn't even know my dog had. I really appreciate his attention to my dog during her appointment and his patience on wanting the ulcer to heal before he performed her surgery. He also explained the surgery to me in a way that I could understand, and made me feel more at ease about the whole situation. I appreciate the time he took to walk me through what to expect during and after the surgery. I also loved how the staff kept me updated on how my dog was doing after the surgery and allowed me to check on her whenever I wanted.

Kip Wassink

Awesome service. Can be expensive if you have complicated problema, but they really know what they're doing and care about you and your pet.

Kelly Sims

Blue Pearl offers superior service to animals. They saved my dog's life when he had pancreatic attacks more than once. He also had a herniated disk near his spine (he's a rescue and was severely neglected at birth) and Dr. Au did an amazing job. The entire critical care team is absolutely SUPERIOR, and because of them, my dog is still alive and healthy. They do an excellent job at diagnosing, treating and keeping your animal comfortable if they are in severe pain. The care and treatment they gave my dog during his last pancreatic attack (he was hospitalized for 5 days) was superior. I can't say enough wonderful things about the service here. We also had to take my dog here at 2:00 AM because a tick was embedded in my dog's skin, and it was getting infected. The vet saw it microscopically and removed it.

Julia Wilson

Dr. Kevin Au is an phenomenal surgeon! We have now had to undergo TWO TPLO surgeries with him (our dog Gracie tore her ACL in both legs) and we felt extremely comfortable both times. After the first surgery and 4-6 week recovery she was back to her old self, running, fetching and going to dog parks. We knew when the other leg gave out we wouldn't go anywhere other than Dr. Au. Not only did he make us feel comfortable and keep us updated, but he is an extremely competent, skilled surgeon and diagnosed the ACL tear in a matter of minutes both times. If you need a great surgeon that will treat your dog like one of his own Dr. Au is definitely your guy!!

Matt Hainje

Great emergency care for our dog, really appreciated the 24/7 operation. Everyone was friendly & competent, and they cared about making sure we knew what was happening. They've also been incredibly supportive in after-care.

We took our dog here in the middle of the night after a horrific accident that claimed his life. Staff were nice and supportive, but they made promises they didn't keep. We declined to get his ashes (they said they went to an orchard), but we requested a lock of fur and the harness he'd worn for so many years. They promised us those things and then just forgot about us. Later, they sent a card and emailed us that his "paw print" was ready for pickup. But they ignored our questions about the other items. On pickup, we learned they didn't follow through on their promises. The end result is that this "service" was a big waste of time and money -- we didn't what we'd paid for. The experience was hugely DISAPPOINTING, and there's was clearly no way to correct the errors. We are incredibly sad to have lost our pup, and now we are disheartened as well.

Very caring, very king vets and specialists.

They’ll take advantage of you because you’re vulnerable and make you feel there is no other choice than to spend thousands of dollars to fix your animal. Complete scam and liars. Stay away!

Best Veterinary Services/Surgery Experience Ever!! From initial consultation through our final follow up visit this week, my experience with BluePearl for our puppy Lolo’s knee surgery was the best I have ever experienced and well worth the 100-mile drive from North Alabama. The front desk, surgical technicians, and entire staff at the Franklin location were very professional and went out of their way to help us understand the surgical procedure and rehabilitation process so we could make good decisions. Dr. Au was our surgeon and is a fantastic doctor. His surgical skill is evident in the superb job he did of repairing Lolo’s complicated knee issue and helping her recover so quickly. I highly recommend BluePearl (Franklin) to anyone looking for quality veterinarian care and for military vets, they also offered an excellent military discount which made the whole experience even better!!

Great staff!

If you have a pet emergency go anywhere but Blue Pearl. Try Animal Medical Center or anyplace else. The core competence of Blue Pearl is ripping off unsuspecting pet owners. The doctors are friendly but incompetent. These people misdiagnosed mistreated our dog, almost killed him, recommended we put him to sleep because he would not be able to recover, etc. Thank God we didn't listen to them, as it turned out he had a common and treatable disease and he is alive and well today. Over the approximately 6 weeks it took them to almost kill our dog we made 3 trips to the emergency room due to their incompetence and they charged us tens of thousands of dollars. They are not honest enough to admit they made a mistake and refund us any money. Can't warn people enough, do not go here.

Dave Crawford

The staff here are amazing. Unfortunately I've had to make a number of visits here but I've always felt reassured and informed. They are open 24/7/365 which is fantastic and don't require appointments. They clearly explain treatment options and prices, can run trupanion insurance, and even follow up after the fact with phone calls and sync with your vet to make sure everything is okay. Cannot praise them highly enough.

Our cat rescue group in Murfreesboro uses BP for the special needs cases when our regular vets can’t help. Fantastic doctors and helpful, friendly, caring vet techs and staff!

Sarah Denton

Our regular vet referred us to Blue Pearl when they found an abdominal mass in my dog. I read a lot of online reviews before our surgery consultation, and I was not looking forward to going here at all. A lot of the reviews said the staff was rude and uncaring and it seemed like they were just out to take your money. We still decided to go because we had heard they are the best for the surgery that we needed. I am very pleased to say that my experience was completely opposite of all those bad reviews. Every single staff member - from front desk, to surgery techs, to doctors - were extremely friendly, compassionate, and professional. I have called them probably over 10 times and we have been in the office 4 times now, and it was the same every time. A lot of folks also complained about the costs in reviews, but they told us at the consultation what the price range would be (low end to high end), and we were charged within the expected range. And no, it wasn't cheap, but good care usually isn't. I feel like my dog got the best care possible, and I recommend Blue Pearl.

Scott Pace

They are only about money not the care of your pets health. If you're a average income family don't waste your time going there.

Adam Neer

Wonderful staff is friendly, insightful and generous with their time and care.

Many years ago I used to work at a vet office in the area and would hear our customers talk about Blue Pearl. Some were amazing stories and some were not so great. My young dog has become very sick very quickly and I took her to my vet and he told me that I needed to take her to BluePearl for some ultrasounds. My stomach dropped. I knew how expensive this was going to be and was terrified. I ended up having to take her in to the emergency side because it was going to be far too long before they could schedule the ultrasound so it was a little frustrating feeling like they just wanted the emergency visit. But upon my arrival that all changed. The tech sat with me as I was stressed out and sleep deprived trying to tell her what all was going on, the dr spoke to me in such a comforting way and the assistants loved on my sweet Hadley so much. I discussed financials with them letting them know that I can’t afford the $5,000+ vet bills everyone talks about getting from there. That I love my dog to pieces but I just couldn’t do that. The vet was very straightforward with me and was very understanding. She didn’t do any unnecessary testing and we didn’t even end up having to do the ultrasound to diagnose. Unfortunately it was devastating news that I don’t have much longer with my pup, but I’m so thankful that I took her in to make her final days as comfortable as we can. Thank you for all of your help.

Cynthia Williams

Cat killer. Will never go there again.

Anastasiya Finogenova

Just absolutely amazing. Comfortable, modern and clean facility with coffee and snacks on standby. The staff and doctors are kind-hearted and made my tabby cat and I feel very welcome, I instantly knew he was in great hands. They explained everything in perceivable terms and my little companion got everything he needed to be healthy again! Yes, it's pricey, but have you ever taken a trip to the ER and expected a $50 visit? You get what you pay for!

Kili Hogins

We met with the Cardiologist. He and the nurse were very friendly and accommodating of my small children. They took the time to show me the echocadiogram and explain what I was seeing, as well as answer my questions in an unhurried manner. Probably the best vet experience I've had!

Mr Woo

Dear Doctor Spina, Thank you for saving my life! I was in real bad shape when I came in and my chances for survival were very slim. My own doctor suggested that I be put down, but you suggested a new type of surgery and it worked! I’m now recovering at home with my family and feeling much better. I also want to thank all of the other fine Doctors and Staff Members who were so nice to me. They cared for me day and night and made sure that I was given every chance to live. I can’t thank you all enough. You and the entire team at Animal Critical Care are a Godsend and I will be forever grateful. Sincerely, Mister Woo

All the staff members are very professional and caring. They deal with multiple emergencies every day and keep a good attitude to support the owners during their worst, saddest moments. I appreciated their efforts to help my dog and me. Thank you. They also did an amazing job handling my dog's remains. I went there for another dog emergency and it was a good experience, despite the circumstances. They explained with enough details what was happening and what were the options available. Again, I appreciate very much their competence.

WARNING! This is the same place that was previously located in Lake City. My kitty had emergency surgery at our regular vet's clinic. He was having difficulty breathing afterward and his doctor sent us to Blue Pearl for overnight oxygen therapy, fluids, monitoring and pain management. The intake doctor at Blue Pearl had me sign a release for treatment and a Do Not Resuscitate form when I dropped him off. I authorized Blue Pearl to treat my kitty as our vet recommended, oxygen, fluids, monitoring, and pain management. Nothing additional was needed or specifically authorized. Overnight, Blue Pearl kept him in an oxygen tent and administered fluids, but did not provide pain medication. In addition, they performed unnecessary blood work. I repeat, they were instructed by our vet, verbally and in writing, to monitor, give fluids, manage pain and provide oxygen. They used the medical release I signed to justify the additional costly bloodwork. The document was worded in a way that gives me no recourse. They gave me an estimate of about $800 to $1700 the night before. The actual overnight bill was just under $600. This was not necessary. This is how Blue Pearl operates. They give you a hefty estimate, have you sign a release and your bill comes out somewhere near the low estimate. The illusion that they perpetrate is that you got by cheap so you should be grateful. On top of that they mismanage your vet's directives. This has happened to me twice at their old Lake City and now at their new location in Shoreline. Blue Pearl has a history of mismanaging doctor's orders and price jockeying with my previous cat. I went there this time not knowing it was the same Lake City clinic in a new location. I found out who they were the next morning when they called about my pickup time. The caller ID showed their Lake City information. I couldn't believe it. When I picked up my kitty, he looked worse than when I brought him in. I thought he was dying. I paid the bill and took him back to our regular vet. The photo I added to this review was taken when I dropped him off at our vet's clinic immediately after a night at Blue Pearl. Take a good look. Our regular vet took good care of him and he's home now, recovering well. It has been my experience that Blue Pearl takes advantage of pet owners in a time of financial and emotional duress. I believe they changed name and location to separate themselves from their history, but they mistakenly kept the same phone number. I do not appreciate being treated this way. My total vet bills for this crisis have exceeded the $8,000 mark. I had to start a Gofundme campaign to Save Sweet Seamus. I certainly didn't need the additional expense and anxiety that Blue Pearl caused. If you must use this clinic, please exercise caution and keep your wits about you. To see how they operate, take a moment to look at their placating replies to the people that give them poor online reviews and decide for yourself. These are my opinions based on my personal experiences. I do not recommend Blue Pearl. Please make sure you check back and read their reply to this review. I'm sure it will be insufferable.

Azalea, our dog was in a fight and had a dislocated/ broken jaw, it was awful, I was terrified she would be put down because of costs, and her pain was horrible. The staff had her in a room and sedated then given pain meds as needed, and she was able to go home, we had to return and get a muzzle on loan, but she is doing well, and the best part is the cost was 300, not in the thousands like I had thought it would be!!!

Anna Hess

Nisha and Doctor Ashley T. went above and beyond to help my Mother and I today with our sick Cat Rain. I don't know why the other reviews were negative as we had an exceptional experience at this Vet. In particular Dr. Ashley T. and Nisha were kind, compassionate, professional, encouraged us to take as much time as we wanted with our Cat who had to be Euthanized of age 14. They worked with us to make a rational descions and showed kindness and empathy about our emotional distress over the loss of our Cat that was unexpected. Anna Magdalena Hess and Dr. Maryann Castle Thank you both. We received a paw print bake and brochure of where my Cat will be buried. Blue Pearl on 25th street and 5th ave.

Our cat ate some holiday ribbon and started vomiting red liquid. Because it's New Years Day our regular vet wasn't open at 6pm. I called this BluePearl location on 15th Street to see if they were open and the receptionist was extremely nice and patient with me. We decided to bring our cat in, and the Dr. we saw was also very nice, professional and thorough with our little guy. Nice facility, and we waited less than 5 minutes before the tech assistant came and began helping us. Recommended, especially if you need after hours or holiday care for your pet.

Best vet ever. I just took him out, and he walked himself back to the door. Not like any experience ever with vet! Very knowledgeable. Exeptional care to my dog and me. They were upfront with pricing and options. A difficult time was made into good. A serious Thank You to everyone at Blue pearl! I will recommend to everyone.

Ruth Baer

While the staff and doctors are knowledgeable and decent, they evaluated our dog with CT and all, while they knew That they won’t be able to treat him with his radio therapy which was recommended from the start. If acidity to administer radiotherapy is down, please be aware.

Chelsea Reed

They were kind and took great care of my dog. They were also very open and up front about pricing and different approaches available in our situation.

The veterinarians and staff here have worked an absolute miracle for my best friend and companion, Dee Dee, a 10-year-old Pomeranian who was badly injured by another dog. She came to them having barely a chance at survival and is now thriving and full of joy. Blue Pearl has done everything they can with the highest level of technology, professionalism, heart, and tireless care. I will be forever grateful to this hospital.

Very nice staff and Dr. , but the quote for recommended treatment was astronomical

We brought my dog in w a persistent rash to see a dermatologist. On time for the appointment Waited finally taken to a room and questioned by a tech Dr. Seltzer came in, spent 5 minutes, questioned where he had been but no questions about the food allergies I know are there, took a skin scraping Waited some more, no more doctor, tech came back, said doctor found bacteria ( would have found bacteria on my skin too; bacteria is everywhere). I asked about diet, nothing. Tried to charge $450 for an antibiotic. Bill without antibiotic $500 Ordered the med elsewhere; Dr Seltzer did not approve prescription The bacteria was never cultured. Diet questions never asked. Dr is incompetent But apparently works for the facility as a moneymaker. Wanted $122 for a med that was $14.95 elsewhere, also tried to push the $450 med. DON’T GO THERE

BLUE PEARL, like all emergency hospitals is expensive, but they have SAVED THE LIFE OF MY PUPPY when she ate something poisonous, and have been there for me and my animals at 3am more times than I can count. They are fabulous and the doctors are top notch. I can't thank them enough. They also kept in touch with our regular vet, so our "normal" medical people were kept completely in the loop.Communication was excellent, as was the care.

Terry Hackworth

My son's 9 year old pit bull recently needed emergency surgery to remove her spleen - Dr. Stockdale and his team we're able to see her the same day and perform surgery the next day. The entire team was amazing and Ellie is at home doing great! I would highly recommend Dr. Stockdale and his team!

Laura Barbiea

We could not be more thankful for Dr. Pavia and her services. We were told our dog's leg would likely need to be amputated by a different vet. We came to her for a second opinion. She could've easily "taken the easy road" and charged us $5K+ for amputation, but instead, she saved the paw, minus a toe and gave a (now healed and happy) pup a new lease on life! Dr. Pavia and the others who work here truly care. THANK YOU!

State of the art hospital with friendly staff.

So far so good! Our thirteen year old boxer has a pretty severe eye ulcer common in the breed and especially that age. Our dog had been seeing another vet while we were out of town and we did not understand the severity of the issue. When we got back to NYC we found he had been receiving three drops a day of four different eye drops plus tramadol and another pain medication... A total of fifteen doses of medication per day. Not blaming the vet that saw him while we were out of town, they did what they could to remedy the situation and keep it from getting worse until we were back to make a decision about what route to take. One of the drops was causing him severe pain to the point where he slammed his head against a brick wall at one point trying to scratch at the irritation through a plastic cone. Our regular vet, Greenwich Village Animal Hospital (always amazing period, expensive, maybe... It's the West Village in NYC and rent is not cheap) referred us to BluePearl... We got to our appointment on time and we did not wait more than two minutes before we saw Dr. Paige Evans who I believe is the resident ophthalmologist. Of course we were really upset that our dog was in SO much pain from the drops and incoherent from the pain meds. We were expecting the usual: Come back in two weeks for whatever surgery is needed STAT, meanwhile there's nothing to be done, just keep sitting in your house watching your dog slam his head against a wall and freaking out until he is so drugged he cant move. NOT THE CASE at BluePear and especially NOT with Dr. Paige Evans. Even though it was not scheduled she performed a superficial keratectomy on the spot. The best option for our Boxer at his age with an 85% rate and a follow up appointment in two weeks. We thought we would have to wait two weeks just to get the procedure. She looked at his meds and though they were not improper for the problem per se, she took him from four types of drops to two types and neither one of them cause him any discomfort... AT ALL. For the first time in seven days (not to mention the two weeks he was at a pet retreat while we were out of town) our dog slept seemingly in relative comfort not trying to scratch his own eye out of his skull. He's sleeping calmly next to me as I write this and his drops are not irritating him at all. Dr. Paige Evans told us he would probably have to wear his cone for at least one week if not two while his eye healed from the surgery. Twelve hours later he is here beside me with no cone and sleeping like a baby. No scratching or clawing at his face at all. We'll see how this progresses but if this first day is any indication? Dr. Paige Evans knows her stuff, wastes no time and administers the best possible treatment. The fact that we didn't have to wait was INSANE in NYC. We walked away from BluePearl in under an hour with a bill that I suppose some people might consider expensive but with three meds, an exam and a surgery well under 1K (like way under 1K) is a deal and I honestly can't believe it was that easy. Kudos to Dr. Paige Evans and the whole staff. Every single one of the people working from the phones to the other vets and assistants were not only professional but kind, compassionate and generally nice. And that was on a first visit with no prior relationship. We're not switching vets. Our boxer LOVES Greenwich Village Animal Hospital and especially Dr. Tracy Sane, but if anything ever arrises that needs a specialist like we did or we need twenty four hour emergency service? We won't go anywhere else in the city but BluePear. And we've tried a few. A+ and THANKS GUYS!!!

My husband and I had a horrible experience when taking our lab mix to Blue Pearl 3 years ago. After $2,000 in testing they said she had terminal cancer and wanted to put her down on the spot. We said NO, took her to our regular vet and he put her on medication and sent us home. The cancer went into remission because she lived for 2 1/2 more years as a healthy and active dog. Fast forward to last night and I Came home to a very sick little chihuahua. With no other option I had to call Blue Pearl where I encountered an extremely rude and hateful employee that answered the phone and was hung up on. Scared for my dogs life I jumped in the car and drove to Blue Pearl but they had moved locations. Had the rude horrible person given me the information and not hung up on me I would've driven to the CORRECT location. When I finally walked in one of the woman behind the desk proudly proclaimed that SHE was the one who hung up on me. I'm currently sitting in the lobby waiting to see what is wrong with my sweet beloved little boy. So far I've paid over $800 and they still have not figured out what is wrong with him. It's SAD that this is Pretty much the only option i have. I'm sure if anyone called a hospital or 911 in a stressful situation- they would not get HUNG UP ON. Oh and her name is LISA! She's a hateful nasty woman that works the front desk at Blue Pearl and deserves to be FIRED! She obviously has NO people skills and would serve the public better by cleaning toilets or something comparable.

I am reviewing their staff and how they handled an unexpected but still heartbreaking death of my beloved dog. It was over a weekend and she was 75lbs of love. While I could have rushed her to the hospital I knew her time was short and didn't want to have her die in the back of the car so we let her pass with us by her side. I called Blue Pearl around 10pm to ask what I could do now and the woman at the front desk was so kind, caring and considerate. She answered my questions with compassion, took my information over the phone so I didn't have to wait when I got there. I brought my old girl in, signed the form and then brought her to where they took her. The gentlemen who came with a gurney for her was probably the most considerate and kind person I'd met. He gave me an extra minute to say my goodbyes and he treated her body with care. It wasn't just a job for these people. I'm sure there can be negative experiences even at great places but even going to pick up her paw prints my husband commented to me how very nice everyone was. I've had many animals and not all vets are the same. This one specializes in emergencies and traumas and I would recommend them to anyone dealing with a death of a pet. Their cremation services are very reasonably priced and they even give you a free clay impression paw print in memory of your pup. Sorry to be a sad reviewer but in a sad situation they were a kind support for our family. Thanks Blue Pearl!

Dr Moning was WONDERFUL. My cat had ruptured his bladder, and is now home. I cannot say enough good things about how my cat and I were treated!! Excellent care!

Deke Smith

We went there to get 24 hour care for a sick pet. They provided an estimate of what treatment would cost. They marked up a life saving drug for our pet 12 times over the cost of the same exact drug at our local vet. Go there if no other options available. Be prepared to pay.

Hayley Cox

They took such good care of my dog and gave him all the chances he could. We got fine results, excellent staff and up to date technology for the best data. They sent my dog away with care and compassion

Christine M

This place is fantastic. I've had to bring both of my dogs here on separate occasions - outdoor adventures led to contracting some type of bacteria. Both times the staff has been incredible. They are always friendly, always gentle, and always treat your pets like family. The staff works hard to quickly triage and get you set up in a room. They are up front about wait times based on the severity of the incoming animal illnesses/injuries/etc. All in all, the wait times really aren't that bad. The vets are knowledgeable, factual, and really care about your pet's well being. I don't feel silly for asking questions about prevention and they don't try to push their opinions on the client. The facilities are always tidy and clean. It's a bummer that BluePearl doesn't do routine/regular vet visits as I wish I could use them for all of my pet care! Thank you guys for taking excellent care of my pets (aka family members)!

Susan Dennis

My cat needed emergency obstruction surgery and my vet sent me to this BluePearl hospital on a cold and rainy night. They were a beacon in so many ways. Everyone there - every single person - was kind and thoughtful and helpful and present. My cat got to come home the next day complete with both printed and PDF instructions and all my questions answered. They gave me a high end estimate and a low end and collected the low end as down payment when I first checked him in. When I picked him up, they gave me 20% of that in refund because their low estimate turned out to be too high. My cat did great - I had no questions and still they called 3 days after to get an update and provide more support. These folks are just the best. Every single one of them.

AUSTIN WOLF

I took my dog there. Spent almost 2k. She mentioned that my dog may need to go longer. Zero change in my dogs health at all. I call to get a refill hoping she just needed it longer and I was told they wanted another visit. They just want ur money here. They can’t help u and will take ur money anyway

I don’t have enough great things to say about everyone at Blue Pearl in Franklin Tn. When my Duke had a lump appear and was diagnosed with lymphoma we were recommended to Dr. Lucas and I absolutely love her !!! She amazed me at her knowledge and consistent level of compassion she showed my Duke and my husband and I every visit for six months. The whole staff did. The ladies at the front desk were amazing as well. They were there for us 24 - 7 and when the horrible time came that we had lost our battle, that staff was there next to us and crying with us. I wouldn’t go somewhere that didn’t have that love and compassion for my dog or us. They prepared us for everything with very accurate information, diagnosis and billing. I never left there wondering where I stood financially or any other way along our journey. If they told me this is what it’s going to cost , it did. No surprises. One of the veterinary assistants even slept in the cage next to my Duke when he started his chemo to comfort him. You can’t ask for better than that !! How comforting for me as well when I couldn’t be in there with him. I understand that everyone has different reviews and experiences but I have nothing but good things to say about them. I love them and I hope I don’t have another one of my babies get sick but if I do they are going straight to Blue Pearl.

Relli Jay

I just brought my dog there because she hurt her leg and the lady in the front was so non caring saying that they won't look at my dog unless I pay 195.00 lucky the doctor already seen her before we talk to her so right when we were leaving a man came in with his dog claiming that he might have already died then she came up to him and ask him do u want us to perform CPR? He looked at her and said what do u think your the doctor here I'm not. It sad because I was walking out slow to see if she was gonna tell him you have to pay the fee first but hey I really don't know what happened after I left. I tell you one thing ER or not I'll never go there again because she didn't care about my dog or the other guy dog she only cared about cash or credit you guys disgust me!!!!!!!

I brought in an injured sugar glider at nearly midnight. The doc on was knowledgeable and able to help my girl. She's recupping beautifully.

We had about the most traumatic situation with our dog that Dr. Scott Ganus and the folks from BluePearl handled with the utmost professionalism and compassion. My wife drove our healthy active 13 year old Schipperke from our out-of-town home into NYC and by the time she arrived she wasn't quite right. Next morning we called our vet's office. Our vet was on vacation so his office suggested BluePearl. The diagnosis was as bad as it gets ... she had Hemangiosarcoma. Between our internet research and consultation with our home vet's office it became apparent that the right course of action was to put her down immediately. We were devastated. Dr. Ganus and the rest of the staff were understanding and sensitive to the gravity of the decision we were being asked to make by what were essentially strangers. We know now that the decision was right ... she passed without pain with the ones she loved and is at rest in our backyard. Our experience is not at all consistent with the negative reviews. Comments related to cost should be tempered with the understanding that BluePearl is a well appointed facility in an expensive neighborhood with great staff ... a high cost structure for sure. The prices were similar to our vet at home. I should also mention that this episode took us by complete surprise and we were in an extremely vulnerable position. Dr. Ganus guided us through the process only performing procedures necessary to lead to the right outcome.

Kat Dej-Panah

Awesome friendly staff, super nice facility. It is no ideal to be at an emergency vet, but the employees here are very supportive nice.

Writing a review here because I'm astounded by the 2.6 rating here -- reading through the myriad of irrational, emotional 1 star reviews for petty reasons. Hopefully this 5 star review can nudge up their rating a bit, as deserved. Our beloved dog Charlotte Mingus was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma, and was given 2 weeks to a month to live by her primary doc. We immediately took her to Blue Pearl, where we spent the past six months with Dr. Britton and the team. Dr. Britton was about as caring, compassionate, informed, and intelligent a doctor as I've ever worked with, in any field of medicine. Her bedside manner and ability to clearly layout the options were always done with informed rationality and whole-hearted empathy. She gave us another 6 months with Charlotte, pretty much all of which were some of the best 6 months of her life, despite weekly chemo treatments. Luckily we invested in Figo insurance, and were able to cover what normally would have been impossible costs to stomach. We strongly suggest you make this investment too, as there's no way we'd have had those last six months of joy. Right down to the very final goodbye, she and the staff were absolutely as good as it gets. To Dr. Britton and the team, we can't thank you enough for the time you gave us, and the class you should at every step along the way. Justin & Elizabeth

This animal hospital takes money in a coward way. I wonder if I left my pet at Blue Pearl at that night ....? The name of the veterinarian at BluePearl was Dr. Imogen Slome. My pet is 15 years old and has a sickness. He regularly takes blood tests and check up at the primary animal hospitals. About a month ago, when I came home my pet looked lethargic, had a slight fever and tears in his eyes, so I went to Blue Pearl Emergency around 8:30 pm. The vet diagnosed my pet was in an anemic state, the value of erythrocyte was very low. In the worst case, my pet might have to get blood transfusion and hospitalization was necessary because his condition might change suddenly. The estimation for the hospitalization and procedures was almost $4000. I was anxious because I had been isolated from my pet since I went to the hospital (for 3 hours and half)and I was about to agree with the estimation, but my husband was suspecting the diagnosis, so I took my pet back home after the vet took a blood test, and gave him a fluid drip and a medication for nausea. The next morning, my pet seemed to be healthy, though he had normal appetite. But as I was still concerned, I sent a diagnosis result and the procedure estimation to his primary vet. The primary vet confirmed that there was no CBC test result even it was on the invoice. I visited Blue Peal again and requested them releasing the test results. The receptionist at Blue Pearl said that only the veterinarian in charge could be able to access the test result, so that the vet in charge would directly inform the details of the test to the primary vet by phone. However, the primary vet never got a call. I discussed with the primary vet and decided to obtain a second opinion at Animal Medical Center for just in case my pet was really sick. Since AMC also asked the result of CBC test, I contacted Blue Pearl again. I was put on hold for about 30 minutes, then they said that the test result would be only available in the next week. According to AMC 's nurse, the result should have come out maximum in two days and it won’t take so long, so I was told to check it again. I finally found out that Blue Pearl charged me the fee of the CBC test which they had never done. I received a call from the manager of Blue Pearl and she offered free test if I bring him back. But I refused and asked for refund only. The manager seemed she did not know how to apologize. I was furious with anger. Compare to my pet’s Packed Cell Volume at Blue Pearl was 20, PCV at AMC was 32 and my pet no longer needed hospitalization and blood transfusion only after 3 days.

We just had an incredibly positive experience at Blue Pearl. I wish human health care was as great. We are fostering a pup who vomited and was stumbling around the apt and then wouldn’t move from the floor, so we rushed her to the hospital this evening. The Blue Pearl team was so friendly, we were seen very fast, the doctor (Keith) was super warm and responsive, the environment was very clean with nice private rooms, caring nurses and receptionists, and everyone was more than reasonable about fees, especially given it’s a 24 hr facility with great staff in a prime location. Fortunately, our pup appears to be okay and I really can’t say enough positive things about Blue Pearl! We just had a great experience and are so thankful this hospital exists for emergencies.

Very good, friendly, helpful care and I like that they give you multiple treatment options based on price. So glad they're here!

Joseph Gleason

I admit I had low exceptions but it was cleaner and more professional than I expected. I will definitely be back here if another issue comes up when my regular vet is closed.

Arturo Sandoval

Very professional staff and very clean facility. Team operated on our dog during holiday weekends and maintained communication with us and our options throughout the whole process. It’s not cheap but they saved our dog.

Thank you to everyone for the loving care of my Tom! Dr. Waldrop was so amazing when she saw Tom in the ER and then followed up with him at another appointment (in person and by phone). Her care helped give me an extra month with Tom. Dr. Robinson, who consulted with me in the suregry department, was also amazing and gave me very detailed and reasonable advice...while also taking the time to answer all of my questions. Finally to Dr. Gill and Clare who lovingly helped Tom on his way yesterday...I cannot thank you all enough for giving Tom the very best care and in a kind and loving way. Thank You!

It has been a year since this place performed ill advised surgery on our boy, essentially ending his life early while at the same time emptying our bank account. 12 thousand dollars, folks. With no looking back and no apology from the surgeon, they roll on. The chief surgeon even stated that in hindsight, surgery should not have been done. I wonder how many other families have suffered the same fate. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE, ESPECIALLY for surgery. It could save a life. Seriously, this place has no soul. No, Blue Pearl and Dr Wood, we haven't forgotten the suffering our baby went through. We brought him here to improve his quality of life and, instead, he was dead a week later. Thank you for completely destroying our faith in veterinarians. Don't trust these people. We did and all we got was a dead beloved member of our family.

This review is based only on our experience with the last doctor we encountered in an emergency situation—Dr. Gill. We were told we could call in any time to check on our pup who had to stay overnight and we did a few times, talking with the doctor on call within a half-hour. Which is why we wondered what was wrong when Dr. Gill failed to return our third call during his round after almost two hours. P.S. after 1 hour goes by, even if it gets really busy, deligating the return of a pup parent’s call to one of your lovely front desk ladies to assuage the parent’s fear seems like an easy and humane fix that is also good for business. Dr. Gill was then extremely rude to my wife when she went to BP to check on our pup, then he told her she wait in one of their sparsely furnished rooms (AMC has couches in their rooms making any wait with a dog or cat a breeze) for a couple hours (!) while he waited to consult another doc. Durning regular business hours a consult shouldn’t require a very long wait for your customers with sick animals who just want to go home. Ultimately asking around, our experience with the rude Dr. Gill is not an unusual one. Makes us wonder why would BP keep this type of vet especially in ER pet medicine that requires clear communication and a good bedside manner.

We've got 3 chickens - the sweetest pets ever - and 2 of them would not be alive today if not for Access. They don't usually see Chickens, but since no other vets were open on Saturday night/Sunday morning - we took them there. While the diagnosis wasn't clear - they did provide the medicine and care that got them better. Despite the stress level they were under (since when all the other vets are closed people go here), all of the employees were very patient, considerate and caring. Shy and Chili are getting better - and Access helped bring them back from near-death illness. Thank you thank you thank you!!! -Tristan and Linda Pinehurst, Seattle

Great, friendly, sweet even at 3am. Beautiful new facility, very helpful.

RaeAnne Rousso

Very impressed with the level of care my dog received. Highly recommend BluePearl for doggie emergencies.

Tricia Quintero

Tremendous experience here. I rarely write reviews on Google, but Dr. Waldrop and the other ER doctors were compassionate, warm, direct, diagnosed our kitty's issue, and discussed several options with us. Though our cat did not get better, we were so grateful for the excellent care received here. Also, the other staff was so incredibly kind throughout the whole experience.

I took our cat in for an emergency sanitary trim. We were treated quickly and efficiently. I only gave four out of five stars because our problem was an emergency because our vet was not in, and our problem was not critical. Good attention and fast service.

Blue Pearl is a great emergency vet or place to go for things your vet might not be able to handle. My car has had to have ongoing treatments there, thank goodness we have pet insurance, I highly recommend that as well. The vets and staff at blue Pearl go over your options and and are very kind. Unfortunately once you get to an emergency vet, it's not cheap. That's why again I am saying I highly recommend pet insurance before you need it. It has paid over 6000 dollars worth of vet and meds. I have had to pay only 10 percent and office calls. Blue Pearl has saved my cat and I will forever be grateful to them for their saving my cat. We have had a lot of quality time with him, he is doing well thanks to them.

Philip Bowles

As a pet owner, this is a place you never want to go, a 24hr emergency vet. Blue Pearl is a fantastic place with wonderful, compassionate staff throughout. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Twice now, for us, they have been literal lifesavers.

Kumsie Byrne

Did not like the doctor. He was condescending and rude. Waited more than a half hour to get my cat out of this hospital. They brought him up in a carrier that we had warned the receptionist was too small several times. They did not let us bring down a larger carrier when we asked to do so. When we transferred my cat to the larger carrier his leg was bleeding that the aide said was due to the small carrier. It was distressing and she was not apologetic at all. We brought our other cat here several years ago and they charged us $2400 and the final diagnosis was "diaper rash." I cannot recommend this place at all.

tony k

fabulous facility, friendly staff, large waiting room kept mostly empty due to lots of treatment rooms. I would certainly take my pets there for a major emergency. Two and a half hours later still no vet, i guess they triage like an ER, my dog only had a cut on his face that might not even need stitches, i gave up, hopefully my dog will be fine. We can take him to his regular vet today

I've had to use their 24-hour emergency service twice for my cats, once to put one down. They are knowledgeable and compassionate.

I want to thank everyone who helped with Heidi on March 29th, especially Dr. Ashton. Our sweet girl went to Rainbow Bridge on Easter morning. She was just to sick to overcome all her problems and the meds hadn’t had time to take affect. Our hearts are broken

Michele Collins-Gass

We took our Great Pyrenees Hank in today to donate blood. The staff was super friendly and the facilities are super clean. Hank loved every minute of it! Especially when he was getting treats and being pet : D

Stephen Abreu

Thank you for you guys help in this very hard time losing my Dog. Very comforting!

RaeJean Evans

This should be the only vet people use. Have never met anyone like the staff here. They truly believe that animals are just as important as people and treat them that way. When or dog passed away, these guys cried with us. They sent a beautiful card in the mail along with a brief note from the staff there. Simply amazing is the only way to describe this place

Ryland Brown

Amazing staff. Highly recommend this emergency clinic

Mike Orton

They did an incredible job after another vet here in Clarksville butchered our poor dog. They did more than just an incredible job <3

karen ledford

2 hour wait to be seen, then another hour in the room, then $150. But getting confirmation that your little girl doesn't need stitches in her forehead is worth it.

Steve Fuller

Very trustworthy outfit. They have treated both my cat and my dog. My go-to for emergency veterinarian services.

trainergirl

We just travelled to this hospital all the way from Victoria, British Columbia to get radiation therapy for one of our dogs who has osteosarcoma. We can't get that therapy in British Columbia. They have a great oncology department We had to stay in a hotel close by as our dog had to have treatment over two days. We were very anxious and worried about the whole thing, because our dog was in a lot of pain and unwell. The two Oncology vets, Kate and Ada were brilliant. They explained everything we needed to know in detail. They were very kind and caring to our dog as well as towards us. I thoroughly recommend this vet hospital.

Frank Jackson

This place killed my dog they elected not to initiate vomiting, instead for over 30 min they demanded urine to test for thc. Never bothered to focus on any reliable test only for THC. Don't ever take your dog to blue pearl.

Curt Jacques

Before you go here you need to understand the cost. The bill will be four or easily five figures. My wife had nearly spent 9000 in two days before I intervined on care for a terminally ill 14 year old cat. The care (think human hospital quality) and service are absolutely top notch. But you need to consider cost before you walk in the door, because they will apply techniques I think are more intended for your 14 year old sibling than on a 14 year old cat. If you can afford that, and care that much, my best to you. If you can't, finding your pet half way into treatment here will just make it all that more gut wrenching. Ultimately we spent about 5500 and ended up putting the poor boy to sleep. I have to say in the end the staff was absolutely wonderful about it.

Tom Elwood

I was really impressed with this place. They really understand that emergency care is expensive, and worked with me several ways to reduce costs. They saw us right away for two visits over the weekend, addressed our concerns thoroughly, and provided great care. Just what you want from emergency vet services. Highly recommend.

Our dog, who was being treated for lyme disease, took a turn for the worse while, while we were out of town. She ended up at BluePearl when she needed overnight care. Sadly, she died 3 days later. BluePearl took good care of her and are not responsible for her death. They are responsible for extensive testing and overcharging. Our bill for 3 nights stay was a touch under 7k. Our general direction was to care, comfort and treat her symptoms. We clearly requested that expensive test be avoided, as we could not afford them. It's been months and our pleas to management to reduce our bill, have fallen on deaf ears. If you dare to go to BluePearl, be sure to have deep pockets or put a clear cap on the charges!

Decided I needed to bring my dog in at 1:45 am because he would not sleep- something he'd eaten was making his stomach upset. They staff was absolutely wonderful. They even helped me clean the back of the car where he threw up. The facility is excellent- clean and modern. They were also very upfront about the pricing. Most importantly, my dog is fine.

Gena Nyland

The staff here are incredibly thoughtful!! Will always go back. Very reasonably priced.

Took my dog to this vet because it was Sunday and we didn't feel like our dog was getting better after vomiting earlier in the week. She had become increasingly lethargic and wouldn't eat. We paid a very high price for them to check her vitals and the vet to put one hand on her and touch her back one time. That was the extent of the exam. Our dog did turn to nip at the vet but it was because the vet never took the time to let our dog get used to her before having me hold the front of her body so our dog couldn't see that the vet was going to touch her and got startled. She's also a nervous dog to begin with but I've never seen a vet so nervous about a nip from a 6 lb dog. She then said if we wanted to proceed with the exam she would have to take her back and muzzle her and that she recommended X-rays to examine her bones. I asked why we would need to look at her bones or for a slipped disc when she had been lethargic and not eating since she vomited. She said it was because she tried to bite her when she touched her back. Even though we had held our dog/ picked her up and there were never any signs of pain. I asked if we could check for something going on in her GI tract and she informed that if it were something like pancreatitis she wouldn't have stopped vomiting. She was so insistent on bone pain and treating her with pain meds and non compassionate that I did not feel comfortable sending our family member back with her to be muzzled and have tests run that I felt had nothing to do with the issue on hand. I took her to her regular vet, Maury County Vet Hospital, when they opened and she was treated with the love and compassion that was missing at this emergency clinic. A THOROUGH exam was performed on her after they held her and talked to her and made her comfortable and they went straight to a X-ray and ultrasound on her abdomen and sure enough there was a blockage. If anyone is looking for a top notch vet visit the Maury County Vet Hospital. DON'T waste your time with this clinic even if you have to wait to bring your loved one in, it will just waste your time and money.

Good place, good people who care & don't waste anyone's time

In and out in less than hour. Nice professional staff. Thanks for caring for my sweet Bobbie Sue.

During a very difficult time in the middle of the night, the staff at Blue Pearl were extremely professional, competent, and attended to my cat with efficiency and care. The support staff were exceptionally compassionate and genuinely caring of me and the tough decision I had to make. I felt supported and respected. It was also a lovely and unexpected gesture when I received a sympathy card in the mail from them. This is customer service at its finest.

They took good care of my bruno

I love this place, they saved my dog's life. The people are the best, my vet is awesome. They love animals and it shows all over the walls.

I won’t lie, after reading the bad reviews.. my husband and I were reluctant to bring our frenchie here. However, I know not to believe everything you hear and to make my own opinion based off of my own experience. Our baby has been diagnosed with IVDD and Needed to be seen by a neurologist and let me tell you Dr. Au is nothing short of amazing. He sat down with us and drew everything out and explained everything in a way for us to understand. Truly grateful for his time and close care for our Diesel. Unfortunately 2 days later we ended up heading back to blue pearl to the ER and he was seen my Dr. Rice who made us feel so at ease because she as well is a owner of a French bulldog and knows the ins and outs of the breed! She was so quick to put a plan of care together for him and so loving to him! All the staff we have met, have been so nice and welcoming and very attentive. Thank you Blue Pearl for loving our boy and helping him during his worst time!

My ex-wife has a Cavalier king Charles spaniel and they have brought her from her deathbed back to the girl she loves so far she has been in their care for almost 2 years when originally they only gave her a few days to weeks... THANK YOU !

Sizzletastic TV

I took our cat who couldn't breathe well into this place. She needed oxygen therapy. Anyway, they were more concerned about finances and money. In fact every discussion I heard with them brought up money and finances. It was disgusting and disturbing. Ultimately their business manager and vet met me together to discuss keeping the cat in therapy longer or putting her down. Either way she'd been sick struggling for 5 days with only declines in health and no improvements so I had her put down. They tried to make me run my credit card while we were grieving before putting her down and then after the incident as well. It was shocking at how much they care more about money over the pets who are brought into this place. If I could do it over again we would have never brought our cat into this establishment and we would have taken her someplace else. Because of this my old cat who was scheduled to have an ECG in October with them will not be a patient of this establishment. I felt my pet was undervalued from the day we went into this place and her health declined while in their care vs. what I was doing at home for her. They didn't really care my son had to hold his cat while she died they wanted their buck. They had no sympathy for the families or the animals. I would seriously question the reviews and do homework by digging around for more reviews out there on these people to see the truth in how they operate.

My lil Andie was critically sick even though she was under another vet service and needed 24 hr antibiotics. I was advised to transfer her to this place. Yes, it's very expensive but so are family members like children. They could have suckered us dry, taking out loans to pay for services to increase their profits. Instead of this type, I received phones calls updating me on their status and how to best manage her care. Long story short, in my Andie's case it was best for her to go to heaven rather than continue with multiple surgeries that still might not have saved her life. This was such a shock to us. It was devastating. From the time my husband and I walked inside, we were treated professional and caring. All staff were compassionate. What was in Andie's best interest was the top priority. My lil Andie life and health, with quality of life was discussed with me, questions answered, time to process information was allowed. Never once was I rushed or persuaded in directions that could have continued to run up the bill. Thank you Dr Woods and staff from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely, Kim Gentry RN

Terrible place - do not go. Went at 3AM - cat was in distress, but with no extreme symptoms, just general malaise and weakness. Doctor was very curt and unfriendly, arrogant - made us feel as if we were bothering him. Offered no help, told us our regular vets treatment plan was wrong (questioned prescription given by regular vet). No empathy, no advice. Cat died the next day at 6PM. The 4 and 5 star reviews below are obviously fake.

Ashlyn Galifinakis
