You have all the reviews of people like you who have information of the products and services of Vista Larga Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) in the state of New Mexico.
At present the firm receives a score of 4.6 stars over 5 and this score was based on 153 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is nearly the highest, and it's based on a very large number of opinions, so we can say that the evaluation is quite reliable. If people have bothered to give their feddback when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian is included in the category of Animal hospital.
Great place good Doctors
Absolutely love the vets and other personnel at Vista Larga. They are always concerned for my pets health and want to know how others are doing when I take one of my animals in. I'm glad they are my pet health care facility.
Very professional. Vet was nice .my dog not so much
Friendly staff. Very clean.
Friendly staff
Super clean with kind hearted people..
Caring staff. You can tell right away that the vets and staff love animals. They have kept their doors open after hours when I couldn't get there on time for an emergency.
Not the most economical, but staff is efficient and very caring.
They treat you and your pet with respect and fairness, and the prices seem reasonable for services rendered.
Not only competent but very kind, starting with Dr Aberhoff and the other vet (Dr Coleman) to every single person with whom we and our dogs have interaced. No fear.
They were amazing with my 10 puppies
Update--reply to your special little response. First of all, the vaccine you thought I gave is not purchasable any longer because it is unsafe. The company didn't update their folder for vaccine proof is all. The vaccine label and lot # was readily available in your hands and you only relied on a circled paper! I did NOT give that vaccine and you insulted me without even checking! Secondly, the CDC conducted a study that proves autism is caused by the MMR vaccine and children are 7 times more likely to get autism if the vaccination is given before age 3. The CDC knew this danger, threw out the study and simply dispersed it to our people. There is proof of this through a CDC whistleblower, with PROOF from our trusted government. If they would make the vaccines separate for each illness, it is proven much less dangerous. Why use harmful, expensive preservatives when there are safer, cheaper preservatives? I know children who passed away after infant vaccines and my brother also is Autistic. Autism was nearly nonexistent 60 years ago. The rate at which it has risen in accordance with the MMR vaccine---is phenomenal and if it does continue (which it has for 30 years), 1/2 of ALL CHILDREN will be autistic and 80% of all boys in less than 10 years....Now, you may have had kids and they are all grown now, so your worries are not the same as mine. But given the research I have done, the damage I have witnessed, the damage vaccines have done to ME, they have no place in my family's life. Diseases were eradicated due to hygiene, mostly--such as developed sewer systems. My great uncle GOT POLIO from the vaccine decades ago. Do you trust all things made in China? Because over 80% of vaccines are made there. Yummy. I didn't even get into the IQ reduction that these harmful chemicals cause. Do you really believe that these pharma companies CARE about us? No. They have to make money and this is how they do it. All the while, hiding the BILLIONS PAID OUT IN VACCINE DEATH AND DAMAGE. Also, measles is unlikely to kill someone unless they suffer from an immunodeficiency such as myself. What about how many of those measles cases that caused death were actually caused by the injection of the virus by means of vaccine? What about the fact that many of the illnesses are shed after a vaccination, hence why you shouldn't visit a newborn after certain vaccines. What about the immigration from countries with less than proper hygiene systems and abilities? You can't blame me for the people who have passed away from measles, ma'am. I won't risk my child's life for the sake of anyone else. Sorry. I also don't believe in fluoride, imagine that doc! Instead of falling prey to big pharma medical indoctrination, open your mind and eyes to the truth! You didn't have a position to comment on my kids because you are an animal doctor. You're not a doctor for people and THANK GOD! I see you had to defend yourself on my post but gave NO explanation on your other recent 1 star review. You had to have the last word ? Well, let's hear it now.
Helping Harley stay alive a little bit longer.
Very friendly and helpful. Was able to save one dog but had to put one down
Excellent, as always!!!
Dr. Averhoff and staff run a first class facility. It is so nice to have top quality pet care in the East Mountains !!!
Excellent service, doctors are wonderful and professional
We have been taking our pets there for 9 years, could not have found a more caring place to take our dear pets.
Nice knowledgeable people
Best vet in the East Mountains, hands down . Dr. Averhoff is compassionate, professional, and the most knowledgeable veterinarian I've ever encountered. The vet techs are kind and know their stuff, as well. I highly recommend them to anyone in the area. You won't be sorry!
I'm at the Animals Hospital over there at Tijeras New Mexico I haven't been in there but I'm glad it's close to my home so I can get my dogs taken care of one I have to have chip that's faded the others are just shots already got one but shots already taken care of but I love him oh my babies.
They take excellent care of my pets. Great care at a reasonable price.
I love this place and so do both of my dogs.
Caring compassionate staff.
Excellent Veterinary Care
They are super wonderful with my Airedale Terrier Bailey and my cat miss kitty!
Best vet around. Helped me keep my cat Station comfortable and made me feel comfortable as well.
Friendly, affordable, dog loved the staff.
Very caring staff, reasonable rates
Saw Dr Hunter. She was kind and reasonable with her medical assessment. My Boxer is suffering from Boxer heart problems. She isn't going to make it. They have made this easier than it could be. My Kitzi loved them and immediately trusted them. They will be my new vets from now on.
They took good care of my dog after she was bit by a rattle snake. So kind.
Great, caring doctors. Definitely recommend this place.
We have worked with three different vets at this location and I have to say we are very happy with all three. We have a very medically challenged great dane, and the staff here at Vista Larga have been nothing but wonderful. They're open and honest about procedures, no hidden fees, and they welcome questions. I used to work as a Vet Tech, and I have to say this is one of the best ran clinics we've been to.
Great vets, caring, compassionate, and competent staff and docs. Did great on kitty dental for 3 of ours. We drive almost an hour to them now we've moved across town because they've earned our trust and loyalty.
The people here are so caring I love how they care for my fur babies
Take great care of our dogs
Been going there for 9 years. Very helpful and friendly.
Always vary helpful and kind.
Good vets
Dr. Kline was awesome! The clinic was clean and bright and the staff were courteous. Gypsy and I are looking forward to our follow-up in March.
We love the vets! They all have extensive knowledge and we've always felt more confident after leaving. We live in ABQ and make the journey to Edgewood, without hesitation.
'Quick and easy exam of my cat.
We've always taken our animals here for treatment. Vets are highly skilled and compassionate. Support staff friendly and accommodating. Fees are reasonable.
Honestly, Vista Larga is the only vet that I have ever trusted. When I take my dog there I always know that he will be taken well care of. It is obvious that all of the staff really care about the animals they work with, as well as the people. The vets there (and specifically my vet, Dr. Klein--she is just the most amazing and helpful person ever) are always honest with me and mindful that not everyone has a huge budget, but still care about getting their animals the care they need. I am always presented with options that I can afford and they are also honest about what is/isn't completely necessary to do. I moved from the East Mountains to Albuquerque almost a year ago but I still make the drive out to Edgewood because I have never had such great experiences with my vet before and they give me peace of mind. I would highly recommend bringing your pets here!
They were very caring when I had to take my cat in, and very gentle when we had to put him down, and then very understanding of how upset I was at the whole situation
These folks are fantastic! We have two pups who require a ton of attention due to their reckless country lifestyles and the vets here go above and beyond. If you're looking for a regular puppy / kitty / gerbil doctor, I'd say these guys are a great pick! Great!
I have been taking my pets to Vista Larga since Dr. Averhoff took over. Everyone in this facility is a God send and truly cares for your animals. I first met Dr. Averhoff when my dog Shadow was misdiagnosed with breast cancer. I took Shadow in and Dr. Averhoff immediately saw that my dog did not have cancer. She had a grub under her skin near her breast. She later saved Shadow's life when, due to my fault, was diagnosed with pyrometria. Because of Dr. Averhoff my dog lived to 19 years old and was very happy. Dr. Averhoff has also helped my cat overcome his fear and anxiety. She has always dealt with his anxiety in the best way possible. Even though I always feel embarrassed when he freaks out. I have trusted her and her staff ever since. There are many Rock Stars that work here. When my cat Jack had urinary issues Dr. Hunter spent time with him to figure out the problem. Because of her Jack is happy and healthy. Dr. Klein saw my kitten when I first adopted him. She discovered he had a cyst growing on his belly and got it drained ASAP. Years later Dr. Klein helped me when my three cats were sick and I was overwhelmed from not sleeping and taking care of them. She had compassion and sympathy for both my animals and myself. When my 15 year old chihuahua became sick we saw Dr. Kern. She left no stone unturned and spent a tremendous amount of time with us to ensure we did everything to make her feel better. When my puppy fractured her knee Dr. Coleman took time out of his busy schedule to ensure he did the surgery and got our puppy home. Every vet tech I have met has been amazing, caring and compassionate. The front desk employees are amazing and do absolutely everything in their power to help you with getting scheduled for emergencies or just being there to listen. I will always take my pets to Vista Larga to see the amazing staff. I know they take their jobs very seriously and are here to truly help my pets. Pets that I love dearly. Thank you to everyone at Vista Larga for what you do. I dont know what my pets and I would do without you.
Caring and quick. Very friendly and understanding about your pets. They treat them as family.
Did not have a very pleasant experience. Took in my kitty to get fixed only to have her stitches poorly done and have a suture reaction. Went back to vista larga for help, which they didn't give of any kind. After the appointment front desk lady was very rude. I then took my girl to Western trails where I normally go and as usual received the help my girl needed and was treated very well. Definitely recommend Western Trails in Edgewood over Vista Larga.
They provide wonderful care to cats and dogs.
Everyone is so compassionate and happy to help you! Dr. Averhoff is the reason my rabbit is still alive! She is absolutely excellent and I HIGHLY recommend her for rabbits. I trust Vista Larga with my animals and cannot thank them enough for everything they have done for me!!
Clean friendly, great staff
Very caring staff.
Vista Larga for the win! Our dog broke a nail, which is not an emergency but is very painful. We live a mile from another vet, but choose Vista Larga for anything that isn't life-threatening. Once again, we got a last-minute appointment, a knowledgeable, empathetic vet and no ridiculous charges for unnecessary medicine. I always feel like I'm dealing with an "old-fashioned farm vet" when I go there, and for me, that's perfect.
excellent staff and facility, we love Dr. Kern!
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.. price was very high .. but overall it's not a bad place to take your animal.
Always an uplifting and caring staff!
My dogs love this place
Very friendly and efficient
I was so impressed with my first visit. The staff is so kind and professional. They make you feel welcome as soon you call for the 1st appointment. My Loki saw Doctor Hunter. She is kind and knowledgeable, In addition, the vet tech was great and very personable. Vista Largo's fees are very reasonable and from my perspective, are not inclined to rack up unnecessary charges. My doggies have found a Doc! I will be returning. And I highly recommend Vista Largo for your pets. I also found a follow up email after my visit. All I can say is I am impressed! Sincerely, Vicki
Best vet clinic I've been to in a long time. Timely service with appointment and reasonably priced.
Friendly, caring staff. Had our dog's teeth cleaned - very satisfied. Good experience!
Nice and clean place, but expensive
Our 11yr old chihuahua had a rather large mass, which looked like a tumor but was actually a hernia. Thanks to Dr. Stephanie at Vista Larga the hernia surgery went very well and our little one is on the mend.
Great staff. Real True Care about your pets
We've trusted our pets to their care since they were "The Zoo". This is a place provides the very best of care for your animals, and the staff knows they are also caring for you. Dr. Averhoff saved our beloved Shar Pei with fast and excellent emergency surgery, and for that we will never forget her -- or every member of staff, who were so deeply understanding and kind. We are forever grateful to have found a place like Vista Larga Animal Hospital. I wish we could find an MD practce with as much heart!
This was our first visit here with our dogs and my husband and I really really like it so far! the ladies were very friendly and nice, they gave our doggies treats and also We have a 3 year old daughter who brought her stuffed elephant in with her and the vet lady was very nice and pretended to give it a shot and gave it a bandage. That made my daughters day. :) We will be taking our dogs here from now on.
We have been using Dr. Mike and the Zoo Animal Hospital for six years for our two dogs. They are extremely good with animals and always put our dogs at ease (even though going to the vet can be scary for them!). They are always willing to squeeze us in or stay late to see us when we have an emergency, and they take the time to explain to us what they are doing and thinking. We wouldn't take our dogs anywhere else.
I want to start out by saying that I'm not trying to be hateful in any way here but I am going to give my honest opinion. My dog is like a child to me so when I look for a vet I always read the reviews first. Seeing how this place has nothing but good reviews I was so happy and expecting the best. Unfortunately this place was a huge let down for me. When you go into a business like this and the receptionist is the first person you see and talk to they are the ones who make the first impression. I am new to town and have noticed that everyone is always so nice everywhere I go until I came here . I tried to ask for a little background about the place and about the vets and was basically brushed off and asked if I want the appointment or not.. Needless to say I obviously ended up going elsewhere . It's sad that the lack of customer service I was given by JUST the front desk staff immediately changed my mind about wanting to meet any of the vets to care for my dog.
I just returned from my first appointment at Vista Larga with my small dog. Everyone that we came in contact with there was kind and professional. My family and I are new to the area and Dr. Stephanie Kern and our vet tech, Karen, explained everything that we should be doing for our dog (regarding preventative health measures) for mountain living. They were very good with our dog, educated me, provided a thorough examination, and were very gentle with my scared chihuahua. Thank you for making this a good experience for me and my small dog.
Best vet I've ever had. I live in Albuquerque, and still choose to drive 30-40 minutes to Edgewood even for a simple check-up because I don't trust anyone one else with the health of my pets. Everyone remembers you by name and is super friendly. They really care about your pets as much as you do, and it shows.
I am sure this is a great, caring vet for general veterinary practice (scrapes, breaks, coughs, etc.), but in my opinion this is not where you would bring your show dog or breeding dam/sire. Contrary to popular belief, not all reputable and distinguished breeders and handlers are independently wealthy, and so the choice of veterinarian is critical in ensuring that money spent on expensive OFA or PennHipp x-rays is not wasted. Although this vet is "certified" to conduct and submit OFA x-rays, I learned the hard lesson that not all vets who are certified to conduct such x-rays have actually performed numerous OFA x-rays. Any vet will concede it takes a lot of practice to do correctly. I learned this lesson when OFA judged my dog's hips as demonstrating dysplasia based on the x-ray submitted by Vista Larga. I took that dog to a vet who has conducted hundreds of OFA x-rays for breeders and handlers alike and knows how to properly position the animal, and the x-rays came back with "Good" results from OFA. I should have gone to that vet from the beginning, but I was trying to "keep my money local." That was an expensive mistake. To be clear, my dam exhibits no "dysplasia" symptoms and has gone on to demonstrate outstanding health and breeding, and even Vista Larga at the time expressed that her hips looked "great" based on the x-rays they performed. Once again, to be fair to Vista Larga, they are likely a great place to take your average pound dog who needs a parvo shot, but I won't spend money on OFA or PennHipp exams/x-rays with them again since I do not have money to burn. "Certified" and "skilled" at conducting such x-rays are not necessarily one in the same. If you need accurate OFA results, do your research and take your pet to a vet who has conducted several hundred OFA x-rays for other breeders and handlers. I feel comfortable bringing my rescue to Vista Larga for his next rabies shot, but I will take my other dogs for their OFA and PennHipp x-rays to where other breeders and handlers take their dogs.
Knowledgeable staff
The veterinarian I met was absolutely wonderful! Diagnosed the issue and was able to get follow up care! Thank you for taking care of my sweet girl!!!
Very caring and responsive vet and staff. 24 hrs emergency availability.
Poor Dogie..
Knowledgeable & caring.
All of the staff there are amazing!! Dr Averhoff and her staff literally saved one of our dogs’ life after she was attacked by another dog. Every single Dr is fantastic as well as the technicians. The office staff is great and all of them truly care about each of our furry kiddos.
Compassionate and caring staff.
Friendly staff and competent providers. Modern facility and you can get an appointment quickly.
Absolutely the best animal care in all of the greater Albuquerque area. This animal hospital has the best staff of any I have encountered. They work to keep your pet healthy and have the skill to treat and heal the worst of conditions. They are also very kind and caring for those of us who are worried about our pets.
Very compassionate for my babies end of life. Exam/consult fee should be eliminated for euthinazia only.
Vickie Averhoff and her crew are second to none. I work with AKC registered Labrador Retrievers. They carry champion field and trial as well as show bloodlines. I do not trust any vet to their care. This hospital has done everything from OFA certifications to surgery to shots and regular exams for me and I have never been disappointed. Dr. Averhoff is without a doubt the best veterinarian I have ever had the pleasure to work with.
Awesome place for pet medical care. The practice has 5 very qualified veterinarians and 6 registered veterinary technicians. They accept Care Credit and all major credit cards.
love, and compassion
Love this place
First, I need to mention that I have 3 dogs and I have been a frequent costumer for 3 years. I had an appointment and called in that I will be 10 minutes late (which I fully take responsibility for) to which I got a complete surprising and non-negotiable answer. I was told that there is no way to get in at all and that I should reschedule, after which I said that in the 3 years that I have been coming there I have never been late and asked if there is no way to get squeezed in. I was told that they are concerned that this would not happen but after I said that I will try to call another vet, they changed their story and said that I could come in and wait for an appointment. I then proceeded to say that I will not come in, to where the receptionist bluntly said: “So you want to cancel? Ok. Bye”. In the three years I have been there I have always been reasonable with them when I had to (occasionally) wait for 30-40 minutes in the waiting room, because I understand the way appointments work. Nevertheless, I was shocked to learn that they would not be willing to negotiate or give me a chance. After all, I have been a long-time costumer and it didn’t seem as if they cared for me to even remain a costumer. I know that I was running late and I didn’t expect them to take me in that moment, but I did expect them to try to help me in getting an appointment asap and maybe be more willing to talk about options, rather than just hanging up on me. If I cannot be certain, that my Vet will be reasonable when scheduling and rescheduling (or have a 10 minute buffer), I cannot be certain they take time for me or my pet. Highly disappointed ☹ .
Unprofessional. My cat died after they said she just had some vague ongoing stomach upset. Turned out she had a very treatable illness and the only reason her brother survived is that our new vet gave the right diagnosis and put him on the right treatment. Other problems with Vista Larga: The room was not clean, with a cloud of another animal's fur when we arrived, including fur on the exam table. No mention or cleanup or apology was made. The Vista Larga veterinarian was very condescending and unhopeful and unhelpful about giving any next steps for diagnosis or treatment and we never returned.
