Plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible. They take care of small animals and farm animals. I was able to get my standard poodle in for his initial visit with them in a matter of about a week. They were able to get us in the back office to look at Maxx within just a few minutes of arriving. And I felt they were very thorough. Maxx needed some follow-up care and they were able to give me an estimate of the cost right then, which helped quite a bit. They do require payment of services rendered at the time of service. Good folks. The follow-up visit, actually cost considerably less than I had expected.

Over the years they have saved our 2 dogs' & 1 of our chicken's lives. Along with treating them & our other animals. Their prices are reasonable & they are really friendly! When our dogs were about 3mo old they got into my son's closet & ate an ENTIRE box of Decon Rat Poison, box & all! Valley Vet was able to treat them & send us home with meds. They are now almost 9yrs old & have lived normal, active, happy, healthy lives! Our chicken got "Bumblefoot" really bad that abscessed all the way through the top side of her foot over the weekend. I treated her foot everyday until they could get her in. On Tues the vet was able to do the surgery. She's on meds, & everyday we rewrap her foot to keep an eye on it. I would recommend this vet

My biggest complaints are they are always scheduled weeks if not months out, and there always seams to be something extra that was "Needed" and drives the price up.

Telling clients its the groomers fault when there pets get kennel cough is unprofessional. Try explaining to them if they vaccinate there pets especially there breeding dogs it would protect them from the virus. The most common place to contract the virus is at the vets! So tired of vets blaming groomers

I just want to say thank you to they staff for your amazing compassion. My Luna ( Boxer ) was having problems delivering a puppy, puppy was stuck in birth canal. I called her normal doctor/vet clinic they proceeded to tell they have no time for her. So I called Valley Veterinary in pojoaque and told me to bring her right away. They were able to get the puppy out but it had already died:-(. But , by them helping her my luna is doing great and was able to deliver 2 more very healthy babies. Thank you all so very much.

Twice they have dropped the ball twice with my dog. If your running behind you need to call the customer. Charged me twice for teeth cleaning in 5 week period, I was told last month about 2 bad teeth, but on the 1st they removed 7 teeth. They should have called me. This is my pet and my decision to make. We will never return. Gotten to big. Not personable anymore. Feels like a cattle call

Vet and staff were super friendly and really good with our dog. We took him to get his shots updated and the vet did it so quickly while reassuring him and keeping him calm. She also asked about any other concerns and gave us great advice. My only complaint is that we weren't seen at our appointment time due to a 15-20 minute wait, but given the personal interest of the vet, I can see why. All in all they are a great place to take your loved pet!

I drive from Portland to take my dogs to Dr Taylor. I got my dachshunds teeth cleaned for about $300. I used to pay $700 before coming here. I also have gotten great care various ailments my dogs have had and I never feel like I have to skimp because the prices are so fair. I have avoided writing a review up until now because it is already very busy and they obviously have a lot of repeat business.

I have been using Valley Vet for many years and have never had an issue with them. They have a caring and compassionate staff, and fair prices. Would highly recommend. The clinic however is on a slight hill above the parking lot. They have steps and a walkway up to the clinic, but the walkway is too steep for a manual wheelchair without assistance.

Even with an overcrowded waiting area kindness is given to all. And the medical care takes a backseat to no one. From teacups to tusk carriers, excellent medical care is given to all. My son is autistic and has 2 rats for therapy animals. I took one of them in to Valley Vet after I noticed a tumor on her chest. It was late in the day, so I brought her back the next day and they removed the tumor. She’s doing very well and we couldn’t be happier. It was VERY affordable, too!!

My family and I have always taken our pets here ( since 1980 I believe). They have always treated each pet as if it was their own! They have assisted me with spaying & neutering numerous dogs & cats, treating a stray dog I adopted with heartworms, providing various lab tests & x-rays when needed, assisting me to treat my chihuahua with severe arthritis, having to euthanize a 15 year old poodle, cleaning teeth, trimming nails and more, all for a fair price. Valley Veterinary Clinic is staffed with amazing, hard-working people. They are a busy mixed-animal practice, and are always willing to see you. Sometimes this may mean waiting if you haven't made an appointment. If you are comfortable with that, they will see you when they are able. Medicine-wise, they have excellent doctors with years of experience. Surgery-wise, they are able and willing to do many surgeries that other local hospitals will refuse, or refer to a specialist. A great value and dedicated people!

I have a 16 yr old cat that is diabetic. On one Friday afternoon he became listless and stopped eating and drinking. I called Valley Vet just at closing time and opted to bring him to the office early the next morning . I stayed up with him all night putting little drops of water in his mouth. I knew he was dying and prayed he would make it through the night. As soon as the clinic was to open we rushed him to the vet. He was severely dehydrated and his blood sugar was extremely high. They gave him little hope but said they would do everything to bring him through this crisis . He was given IV fluids and insulin and closely monitored. Saturday afternoon the vet called and said he was doing just a slight bit better but was no way out of the woods. Letting me know we could still lose him. I called early Monday morning and was told to come get him. He was up and eating, walking around his cage dragging his IV lines with him. I was sent home with all the things I needed to keep him going in the right direction. It has been a few weeks later and he's eating and interacting with us and my 3 other cats. It was only through answered prayers and the staff at VALLEY VETERINARY CLINIC that we can continue loving and taking care of our beautiful Taz. I highly recommend them. Margie Smith Longview, WA

Caring compassionate knowledgeable staff, affordable services. Worth the drive to Rainier! When one of my weenie dogs lost use of her rear legs due to the dreaded weenie dog disc disease the vets suggested acupuncture as an alternative to very expensive and invasive surgery. After just a few treatments, she regained the use of her legs and is still going strong eight years later. They have a very busy practice so waits can be rather long. The waiting room is small with no animal segregation so it's up to the pet owner to ensure their pet is capable of being around other animals and people without eating them.

I made an appointment and am switching to this vet hands down and not looking back.my dog that refused vaccinations three times from regular vet went today and the kind vet had his shots administered within minutes with my dog wagging his tail and stress free. This tells me something happened with my prior vet and my dog didnt care for whatever it was. I gave today's vet at valley vet a heads up about his refusing care and the extreme things that were done to vaccinate him the past 3 years and they went into it prepared and expecting a possible issue. Nothing pleased me more than to have my sweet dog behave and stand like a good boy for his shots. I was on time for appointment and went in and there were 8 dogs in waiting room and expected to wait forever as I was used to this at veterinary clinics. Today I was there barely long enough to fill out paper work before getting called back. They run like a well oiled machine and took time to do a pre visit with my dog to make sure he trusted them and form a friendship before going to work on him. He was done so fast and I paid and was out the door and on my way. I gave them records for both my dogs and set up reminders for future vaccines and felt 100 percent good about choosing them as my new vet clinic. Parking is massive and large animal care is seperate building and ample parking also. I'm not sure how many veterinarians are working there but I know its enough that when they tell you 2:30 appt they to are ready at 2:30 for you and there's no long stressful waiting for your pets. All the office staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It was a positive experience and my dog and I both needed that.

I have been coming to vally vet for a couple years now and have always loved them for my large animals. Sadly I do not think I will be coming back to the small animal side of the clinic. I brought my dog in the am to have porcupine quil's removed , and was told I could go have breakfast and probably would get a call to come pick my dog up. 4 hrs later I call them to find out that she's ready to be picked up. When I picked her up I was not given discharge instructions or reciept for services rendered. The 240$ they charged me I'm not even sure what it was all for. There was little discussion on treatment prior or the amount it would cost. I have never had this problem before and I'm sad to see that they have lost that personal touch. :(

Everything changes, sometimes for the worse. The business has undergone a lot of changes over the last few years, including a number of staff changes as well as high-pressure sales practices... requiring repeated testing even for the smallest things. Front end staff 'Up-Sell' their in house products, especially heart-worm meds or name-brand meds over generic.....EACH with a requests that you return for re-peat testing continuously, even if you are on the year-round schedule of HWmeds already. Included in this is a recent shuffling of Vets themselves, although in fairness there is still one excellent Vet on staff. Needless to say, we've decided it's better to drive to Espanola or Santa Fe over paying the repeated and expensive cost of unnecessary testing and sales tactics. No thank you.

Barbara Swanson is a horrible vet. Has no concern for her community or the people in it. She misdiagnosed two cats resulting in their deaths. She will talk you into procedures that are unnecessary or unaffordable. Go to Cottonwood instead. Your animals will be taken care of and you won't go broke in the process!

The vet is a good friend of the people in Pojoque Valley. She took exelent care of Lucky - the oldest dog in northern New Mexico - for a check up. I didn't feel like I was pushed into any uncessicary treatment and they clearly are looking out for the best interest of the animals and their owners.

Had appointment scheduled months in advance..got called that they were postponing for a few weeks..arrived as scheduled at opening time and was greeted by a cramped waiting room with a non stop flow arriving. Took some time to get checked in and was nervous with so many pets in close conditions that there may be may be a crisis if a pet that's nervous or unwell should become aggressive to the myriad of people and pets invading their comfort zone.

Under the new owners Valley Vet has established itself as a compassionate, efficient practice serving the community. Consequently you will find the waiting room crowded and the staff and doctors and techs busy. I appreciate that the sign in the office makes clear how they prioritize care, so you can understand why sometimes you are waiting for your dog's shots because there is an emergency case being cared for. I appreciate the on line interactions they now use to increase communications, appointments and feedback. Very helpful. I recently returned to Valley Vet because they offer same day drop in or emergency, which I need if I have an emergent problem. I can get routine care through regular appointments but now have access to care if something come up unexpectedly.

This place is always late on appointments, tried to claim I need a health certificate when not flying to travel across state lines (extra 30$) multiple police told me a physical or digital copies of my dog shots would be sufficient... Health certificate are only needed if they are flying, not driving, costs consistently change, was told 90 over the phone for everything we needed for our move, costed 201$, got quotes wrong prices by the vet as well, she told us one price got to check out and was almost $10+ then what we just got told, based on this being a consistent issue I've experienced I feel I can not rate more then 2.
