The best experience I've had with vet clinics in years! Dr. Santana and Dr. Williams are two of the best vets I've ever met. They take their time with your pet. They treat your pet with care and take the time to explain (in detail) what is wrong with your pet. They discuss options and help you make the best decision for the health of your pet and prices are more affordable compared to other clinics. Thank you Dr. Santana and Dr. Williams for giving my cat the care he deserves :).

A Thought

Yes, a change in staff within the last 7-8 months and not for the better. Lady manager not polite, abrupt and front desk lady kind of ditzy. Fellow related to Dr. H found out he's not certified. Was referred to Juan Tabo Clinic- professional and affordable. Used to be great vet place. Dr. A is good. Wish they hired people who care about pets and people.

I've been going to At Francis Animal Clinic for many years. The vets are very compassionate and caring. They really take the time with you and your kiddos. They are fantastic. There prices are the cheapest I have found in town. I recommend to anyone needing a great clinic.

St. Francis Animal Clinic is one of the more affordable places in the NE heights, if not all of Albuquerque. Dr. Cage is who I have seen on multiple occasions and her examinations are quick and to the point. She's gentle with my pets, they seem to respond extremely well to her, and she's happy to answer my questions.

After seeing the good reviews and being recommended by friends, this was hardly the experience we were expecting. Our cat needed a physical, but we also wanted them to check out her teeth. The veterinarian we were booked with -- Vikki -- took a quick glance, gave a diagnosis of stomatitis, then refused to do anything else. She was literally shoving our cat back in the kennel before we could even ask her to, you know, check out the rest of her body? Pulse? Breathing? Take her weight? All that other common sense stuff? When we brought that up, she just said, "No, it's stomatitis." The only thing we got out of our $50 visit was some antibiotics, which to her credit helps a bit. But she wouldn't even give a referral to a dental specialist after saying that's who we needed to go to next. Vikki was rude, didn't want to do her job, rushed us out as quickly as possible, and basically took us for granted as customers. For $50, we got a lot more information on our cat's condition at Eubank Animal Clinic and were treated far better.

I have been bringing my pet here for years along with all my family's pets. (2 cats & 5 dogs total) we have always had great experiences with Dr Lee & Dr Parker and the front desk guys however, they recently experienced a turnover and the new staff leaves much to be desired! We saw Dr Alborta today & she was very nice & thorough but, she came in nearly half an hour past my pet's scheduled appt. (Scheduled for 1100, I arrived at 1050, she came in at 1127) not even 1 minute into the appointment, someone poked their head in to say that her 1130 appointment was there. She did go through his previous paperwork & the only complaint I have about her is that she just left the appointment. She didn't say "bye" or any indication that we wereally done. I just sat in the room waiting until I finally walked out to the lobby to see if anyone knew if she was coming back or not. My real upset was when I went to pay my bill. The front desk tech who had taken my pup for his blood work was so rude! She gave me a hard time about my pet's med refil, she asked if the Dr had okay'd the refil & I stated that the whole reason for the blog work appointment was so he could have a refill. She acted like it was a huge deal that I usually get a double refil, the whole time she was huffing over it even after the Dr okay'd it. Then when she rang me up it came out to more than I usually pay so I asked what were the price that I was being charged on each thing to which she replied, "it's all itemized right here on your bill". So I stated the bill that you have & I have not seen so how am I supposed to know without seeing it?... She still wouldn't let me see the actual bill & just staired at me to pay. It was by far the worst experience I have ever had! It made me worry that if she is this rude to me how did she treat my dog when she took him to the back for blood work?!.... I am going to talk with management about this & if she is there next time I take my pet, I will walk out & take my pet to VCA! I might over pay but, at least I know my baby boy will be treated right!

I have not yet stepped into the door of St Francis Clinic, but i just had an amazing phone conversation with the fill in vet, Dr. McCartle and also the tech named Joe. I'm having trouble getting info from my regular vet...she won't answer my questions, but Dr. McCartle and Joe were beyond helpful. I can't wait to go over there! I sure do hope that Dr. McCartle gets hired on as a regular.

Dr. Parker and Dr. Heise are two of the kindest, most thorough veterinarians my dogs have seen. I have two large aging dogs with arthritis and hip dysplasia, and both vets provided gentle examinations and discussed long-term care options for them. The rest of the staff is also very kind and accommodating. Visits and medication are quite affordable.

I have a small dog but who can be quite difficult. He's very scared of new people and new situations and as a result will act aggressive and try to bite. The staff at St. Francis are very prepared and professional even with difficult dogs. They kept my dog calm and calmed me as well. If your dog is scared of the vet this is the place to go! They will work wonders with a difficult or scared dog!

I've been here 7 years, 3 animals, 6 occations to need pet care from sprained knee to spay to trauma, all Drs (especially Dr Hiese, but he's retired now)have been above average. I'm a 60 y.o. that's had a LOT of pets I LOVE, so I've seen a lot of "average", but not here. Also, very reasonably priced.

I was looking for a kitty to adopt and a person I spoke to told me to check with St Francis because they knew one had been abandoned on the door step. I called them and was invited in to meet the kitty they took in and cared for. They named her Daisy. The clinic had done her spaying, shots, and chipping and then sent her home with me for free. This was a real show of their care for animals....help them and then home them...:)

I'm only putting 3 stars because it puts it in the bad reviews where people can't see them if not!!!! This isn't a good review... My friend recently was gonna go here to take her pets and I told her not to and why..she told me I need to write a review.. I brought my dog here about a year ago and they said he needed a tooth extraction. He went into surgery and I expected to pick him up with 4 teeth missing like they said needed to be done. Instead they took 16 without even letting me know. They called during the day and said there might be ONE other that has to be taken out and that upset me. If I only knew it was actually 16. He has no bottom teeth now practically and I about fainted and hypervenilated when I saw him. Dr. Alborta didn't want people to see me crying so she rudely waved me into her office. Please don't go here if you love your pet!!! It's competitive prices for a reason people! I now take my dog to VCA. It's super expensive but I never have to worry about that sort of thing. He just recently had a surgery with them and it was such a breath of fresh air this time I felt so comfortable leaving him there!

I have been taking my dog here to see Dr. Heiss for 6 years and have always been happy with him. Now that Dr. Heiss has retired the cost of my dog's visit tripled. I've only ever been charged for his shots but suddenly I was charged for shots plus an additional $44.00 for an exam. Had I known that would be the case I would have had him exam more than his heartbeat and mouth. Sadly I won't return.

We were begining our vacation, with our, 9 year old, great Dane, Bella. She seemed to be limping. Before traveling on, we called St. Francis, to see if they could check her. We were able to see Dr. Larsen, within an hour. She thoroughly examined our 100 lb baby, spending a considerable amount of time, with us. She offered several suggestions and prescribed medication, for her upset stomach also. We left the clinic feeling reassured. Being from California, my husband was amazed, at the low cost, of the visit and medication fees. We wondered why our meds were so expensive at home. While traveling, Dr. Larsen surprised us with daily phone calls afterward, to see how Bella was doing. I was shocked, as it would be a miracle, if my own practitioner had done that. Bella improved and our trip was wonderful. If we lived in Albuquerque, we definitely would have St. Francis, as our primary care office. Service, price, and compassion, was the best ever. Thank you Dr. Larsen. You will always be remembered, as part of our pleasant trip. Bella thanks you.

Talk about old fashioned care and compassion. With every pet I have brought to St. Francis they make sure to show the utmost care. Dr. Saga, Dr. Heise, and Dr. Parker love animals, and make sure to show that you're important. They play with your pets, they talk with you, and explain everything. I will never take my pets anywhere else.

I miss Dr Alborta. I had a dog with chronic IBD that went out of control. With her help were able to explore reasonable approaches to address the issue. Sadly nothing work and had to make the difficult decision to put him down instead to continuing with a steady deterioration. Dr Alborta was very thoughtful and caring during the euthanasia process by giving him a little something to relax him before the actual shot. He went very peacefully. Unfortunately, Dr Alborta has moved on and I had to rely on another Vet (a woman) to help my 23 year old lady cat make her final transition. Granted this was the first time we met, but I wasn't happy with how Mittens euthanasia was done. There was no sedative to relax her, just the shot and a moment of panic for my old lady. She didn't deserve having even a moment like that. My initial gut reaction meeting her and this experience has colored my opinion regarding this Vet. I will still use St Francis because the rest of my experiences with staff and the other Vets have been really good and I trust them. And I'll be sure to use one of them for our next visit.

My 12lb. Pomeranian has dental work and a mass removed at St Francis several years ago. The doctors and staff were compassionate, caring and very professional. I was called during the the cleaning and told my dog needed several extractions. They were considerate enough to ask permission before going ahead with the procedure. Also, they accepted payments on a $900 bill. My dog had no negative side effects from anesthesia and healed very quickly. I HIGHLY recommend St Francis, as they will work with your budget, schedule and needs while making your pet the ultimate priority.
