I would like to take a moment and commend this vet clinic. They were the most amazing and friendly staff! When 4 other vets turned us away this clinic not only took us in as a walk-in emergency they saved our dog’s life! One clinic just hung up on us, as another told us we had to go to Santa Fe. This clinic at least gave us a chance and tended to our family dog, when they realized the seriousness of the situation they did whatever it took to save her life. They also communicated well with our regular vet. The price was great given the situation. If you need a great vet or in an emergency situation please use them! An extra thank you to Dr. Holly Johnston- defiantly better than 5 stars! Extra Love from Zia and her family- she is doing great!

The vet Patricia is very good at her profession. We took our unsocialized dogs in to get vaccines and she pointed out an issue with one of our dogs knees right away just by feeling her explaining why she runs a little funny sometimes and we never knew. The vet never met our dogs before yet alone didn't have any time to observe them pointing out any imperfections. We were very pleased with our visit

While visiting the area my setter was struck with a vicious malady that culminated in a after hours emergency visit. Dr. Holly Johnson took the dog under her care and nursed her back to health over a couple days. This office is insanely busy but if you have a real pet emergency, regular client or not, I would insist on this office.

I am really happy with Salazar Vet. We recently moved to Taos and have a Pug and a Persian. I trust the staff with taking care of my squishy face crew - I especially appreciate the time that the doctors take to answer all of my questions and concerns. I have visited with Dr. Love and Dr. Sides. I really like both. They let me bring both of my pets in for a shared visit to save time and were able to get me in within 24 hours when my cat developed an eye infection. Ashley and Tammy at the front are very nice. When my old dog was ailing they were absolutely wonderful. She died 2 weeks later, it was her time. They did all they could and were kind and sweet and gentle when it was time to 'let her go'. From the ladies behind the desk, the telephone service and manner and the vets themselves, all could not have been more professional or kinder to both the dog and to us. Recently relocated to Angel Fire NM with a very sick husky named Trista. Trista has been traveling with me for years through my military service and has visited many Veterinarians through out the country. Salazar Road Veterinary Clinic is a step above the rest. Trista is still undergoing treatment but no Vet has treated us so well, going above and beyond to bring her back to 100%. I’m confident we’ll have a positive outcome but our experience thus far has been fantastic. Highly recommend this clinic!!!

I have been taking my cat here for the 8 years I have had her. They have never been able to help when she was sick or injured. I always end up doing research on my own and figuring out the problem myself. I also have a dog who is a bit younger than my cat and the experience with him has been a little better than with my cat. But both animals are TERRIFIED of this office! My cat is a very tough girl who isn’t afraid of anything, but when I take her here she seems so traumatized after we leave. The last time I took her (the cat) in she was having problems with her back legs and hips.The vet was very rough with her and then proceeded to give her a rabies vaccine in her hip! They also gave her pain medication that didn’t help at all. I will give the emergency line credit for helping me once on a Sunday when my dog injured his eye. She was very nice and gave me good advice on what to do and it worked, so thank you for that. Other wise I don’t have anything much else good to say about this office.

Dog had worms and I never have been there to get my dog helped but they were quick to help me in providing a medication and fast, they even provided me with a pill pocket to hide the medication at no charge. They really do go the extra mile to help out the furry friends :) thank you

From 2006 - 2012, when my wife and I first started using Salazar Road Veterinary Clinic, they were great. We loved them. Then we moved away. Now that we've moved back to the area and have been using them for about a year now, I have come to realize the clinic has become one of the worst clinics I have ever had the misfortune of having use. Their staff is stressed, overworked, unfriendly, unhappy, unhelpful, and rude. It's a real disappointment for us as when we lived here last they were one of the best clinics we had worked with. Their new staff is filled with transplanted "city people" who care only about testing ($$$), heartworm ($$$), their own personal schedule, and the clinic's bottom line. Have an emergency? If - and I mean *if* - they even bother to allow you to bring your animal in w/o an appointment, they'll make it very clear how inconvenient you're being. Making a stressful emergency even more difficult and painful. Most of their staff members act like judgmental "activists" types, who look down their nose at their customers with an apparent self inflated ego typical of transplanted "city people" who're clearly out of touch with their customer base and community. Furthermore, if there's a clerical error made by the staff, it's blamed on the customer and the customer is made to feel guilty for the vet's mistake. Their customer service is atrocious and makes it obvious they care nothing for the customers they serve. All this combines to make this clinic one that I'll never use or recommend again.

I called to see if I could bring my dog in after he was hit by a car the reply I got was take him somewhere else like taos vet clinic we are not going to see him. How inhuman and uncaring these so-called animal doctors are!!! All that is important that matters is money. Nothing about the compassion or the need to help. May God give you everthing you deserve.
