As of day the business gets a rating of 4.4 stars over 5 and that score was based on 136 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is good, and it is based on a large number of scores, so we may conclude that the assessment is very faithful. If many people have bothered to give their review when they are happy with the business, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to give feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian belongs to the category of Animal hospital.
I am extremely pleased with care my dogs and donkeys received from both Dr. Donny and Dr. Thompson. My dogs were never afraid to go in, the caring of the all the staff is exceptional. My 15 year old dog is still running around well due to expert knee repair surgery. The care for the critters is outstanding, and they know how to care for the critters parents as well, a sometimes rare commodity. I can't recommend this clinic enough to anyone who wants the best!
To be honest, I was a little skeptical after being 'warned' by some people in my breed, however seeing as they are up to date on all the latest canine breeding protocols I decided to have my little Japanese Chin get her surgical AI here. Dr. Thompson was amazing and the staff was very nice. We ended up having to go in for progesterones every few days and even when Emi was grouchy from contiually getting poked, the staff still treated her well. Would definitely recommend!
All around professionals and very nice people. Great facility. My Aussie, Mercury, is treated well there and he is healthy and happy.
Went in on March 4th, 2019 with my cat Pumpkin. He had a small swelling, which appeared to be an abcess. He had a history of Feline Stomatitis. The vet assistant did most of the visit with me. The doctor came in the office for about 3 minutes and said we needed to drain the abscess & walked out without saying anything else. Being concerned, I requested an in house blood panel to make sure his organs were up for an anesthesia. The vet assistant ASSURED ME on paper and in person it would be a light sedation and NOT a heavy sedation. She told me she felt he was not prepared physically for a heavy sedation with the breathing mask, etc. The quote states he would receive DEXTOMITOR anesthesia, which is the lighter version. We had agreed to do this on the basis of lancing the abcess and NOTHING ELSE UNLESS I WAS NOTIFIED FOR PERMISSION. Dropped him off March 6th. I SIGNED A PAPER AND PHOTOGRAPHED IT STATING THAT NOTHING ELSE SHOULD BE DONE TO HIM WITHOUT FIRST CALLING ME FOR PERMISSION! I NEVER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL ASKING TO CUT UP MY CAT'S FACE. A few hours later after dropping him of they called me and asked to euthanize him. I was startled and said to wake him up that we would like to bring him home. They told me to come down and take a look at the damage. I walked into the room and his right cheek was removed. Did a 5th grader perform this surgery???? Why would you do this without ASKING!? WHY WAS EVERYTHING DONE OPPOSITE ACCORDING TO WHAT I WAS PROMISED. They kept poking at his tissue and cheek like he was a science experiment. I had never been so traumatized to see my child, my baby laying there helplessly with his face half removed. How could treating an abcess turn out to this? What is the point of having a customer sign a paper and check a marking that you should call he/she to perform anything else that was discussed or agreed upon??!!!!!! Why did I not receive a phone call asking permission to cut up his "tumor" and remove his cheek? Why? Was his life not that important? Was he just another "animal"? Why was I promised a light sedation and then to receive the bill an entire list of things I NEVER AGREED TO!!!!???? I could care less about money I would have taken him to more doctors just to solve it. I never agreed to have a "tumor" removed. I agreed to have an abcess drained. The doctor told me the tumor was beneath the abcess. It would have been enough to drain it. Perhaps I wanted a second opinion or perhaps I wanted to take him to a professional for tumors. Instead my cat was picked apart like he was an expirement. To make matters worse the girl at the front SHAMARIE argued with me about my discount that I was owed for paying 20 extra on my care credit twice to receive it for 200.00. She stated "THEY ALREADY KNOCKED OUT THE PRICE FOR YOU". This job requires empathy and compassion. I do not understand how someone could just sit there and argue after their baby just died. When I'm given a quote and when I am given a paper on what is EXACTLY to be done I expect that to be done. If it were your child you'd expect the same. ANIMALS ARE LIVING SOULS. What's the point of signing a paper asking if I want permission for further operations? Instead I get a call asking to kill my baby. I never asked you to cut up his face. I never asked you to remove a tumor. The agreement was to drain an abcess and if it were anything else I would have taken him to a professional in that specific field. What is the purpose of providing papers to sign? I stated over and over to do the mild sedation. When I walked into the room his face was cut up and blood everywhere. If you are going to do such a thing you better be confident an animal can make it out alive. Why was I charged for tumor removal? When I said all I wanted was to check what is going on with mild sedation and to drain an abcess if possible? I called to speak to the owner and nothing. I am disgusted at how my baby was treated. He's gone now
I would have given it a zero if I could. I moved down to Los Lunas and started with this clinic based on the recommendation of a friend. The first few times I was there I was happy. Then I had to euthanize my old German Shepherd. It was horrendous. He was very weak in his tear and was falling a lot. On Sunday he fell and could not get up and was crying in pain. I took him in the following Tuesday. I had to pay upfront. And pick out an urn. Although I could see the front desk clerk was attempting to be compassionate, she came off as very brusque and business like. I was put into a room and I waited 30 minutes with a dog who did not like being at the vet. Mind you, we had an appointment. I was thinking about leaving and I should have. The vet and the tech finally came in. I was not watching as I was trying to comfort my dog. I thought they were going to sedate him bit no, they tried to inject the euthanasia drug without any pre- sedative. Unthinkable! They missed his vein in his front leg. Then they blew the veins in his back legs. This hurt my dog. This is about when I realized they were not pre-sedating. They finally sedated him. And we waited 20 more minutes. He really needed more sedative but by now they were really behind. They finally got a vein and ended my poor dogs suffering. As I left, I had to run a gauntlet between people and their pets. I was trying not to fall over their feet or dogs as I tried to run out of their sobbing. The waiting area is long and narrow. They had another room they could have used that provided a clear path to the exit. They needlessly caused my old boy additional suffering and trauma. And traumatized me. I have had German Shepherds for over 30 years. I have had to euthanize a few. It’s never easy. But this clinic made it a horrible and horrendous experience. They did this very poorly from start to finish. I did get a nice card a few days later. 8 days later I got a call to pick up Havoc’s ashes. I told them to mail them. I got silence. Then I I was told I they would have to price shipping and let me know and I would have to pay for that before they would ship him home. I told her I did not care what it cost, I had no intention of setting foot in there again. She never asked why. Later that day a friend volunteered to pick Havoc up. I called them back to tell them who would be there to pick up his ashes. Only then did she ask what had happened and offered an apology. I never heard from an office manager or vet. I thought they might have wanted to know why I was not coming back. I thought they might have wanted to know what they could have done better. I used a practice in a small town in Oklahoma for many years. Even a small practice with one busy vet made this time a private time with much compassion. Shame on los Lunas Animal Clinic. Not just for how they went about this euthanasia but for not following up when they knew I was upset. Never again will I set foot in there. Stay away.
I have been using LLAC since 1988 for my dogs, cats and horses. Dr. MacDougall has proven to be compassionate, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile when treating difficult problems with my animals. He even did a RECAF blood test on my Rottweiler to determine if a knot on his ribs was cancerous (the alternative was to remove the ribs which could have been dangerous because my dog also had seizures). The test was done only in Canada at that time. Dr. MacDougall had me call several veterinarians, including one who specialized in cancer diagnosis and treatment for dogs. To my surprise, none of them had even heard of the test and were not willing to find out how to do it. Over the years, I am sorry to say, I have not always had the same experience with the other veterinarians at LLAC ranging from uncaring rudeness to misdiagnosis - nothing drastic, just costly because it had to be done over. That also applies to the front desk and the techs. I learned long ago to simply make appointments with only Dr. MacDougall unless it is an emergency and he is not available. I have also tried on several occasions to go to a different veterinary clinic. LLAC is head and shoulders above the others. The knowledge, compassion and willingness to do everything possible to help my pets far outweighs dealing with the occasional rudeness and minor misdiagnosis. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all be bright and cheery and have the right answer to every problem always. LLAC is the best.
Great pet care.
They were very helpful in explaining reproduction process for my German Shepherd and answered all my questions.
Drs. McDougall and Thompson have been essential partners in our pets' lives. We rely on their knowledge and judgement exclusively.
This place is awful, I also think they discriminate against Asians. I know as a fact they hire people without making sure their drug test comes through clean, so for all you know some strung out addicts could be working on your animals. I know that my dogs are like my babies, so I would never want that for them. Also, the blonde lady at the front is really rude, and takes er anger out on others. I would say to avoid this place and find another vet around this area.
We have trusted the care of our pets to the Los Lunas Animal Clinic for the last 13+ years. I could think of no place else I would take my pets. The staff are always friendly and show genuine concern for our pets needs. I truly feel that all of our 4 legged friends are treated like family! From routine to emergency care our pets are always well taken care of!
I am again in search of a compassionate and caring Veterinarian with a front-office staff to match. this is a kind of emergency and, of course,Los Lunas Animal Clinic staff could care less! I really like Dr. Mcdougall & Dr. Thompson, they are very good doctors, but the staff they CHOOSE to employ are not!
Dr Donny has taken care of our family horses, cats and dogs and even a chicken for years and he always provides the best care. He explains the issues and has dealt with end of life for some of our pets. That is never easy with kids involved but Donny does a very good job for us. Thanks Donny!
We have always admired veterinarians and been grateful for their dedication. Los Lunas Animal Clinic is certainly one of the best!
Best vet in New Mexico!
I have been nothing but impressed with the professionalism and pleasantness of this clinic.
For those complaining about how expensive LLAC is, you have no idea about expensive, wasted money or incompetence! How about unnecessary dental surgery? How about a misdiagnosis that cost my dog her life? We paid well over $2,500 at another vet for care for my Koko. I took her to LLAC for a second opinion after 5 months of a continual worsening of her health. Within 1 hour, a tumor was found in her nasal cavity, which was eventually diagnosed as terminal cancer. I spent many sleepless nights researching this diagnosis/treatment options. The original vet should have found this. Koko had every single one of the symptoms but our former vet said she had a sinus infection caused by the roots of her teeth invading her nasal cavity. IF Koko had been correctly diagnosed when she first exhibited her symptoms we, may have been able to save her life, rather than spending over $2,000 for an unnecessary dental surgery! LLAC came to our home and let us say goodbye to Koko in a familiar setting. What Vet does that? I will be forever grateful to LLAC for treating my Koko with great care and compassion. Her treatment was the best for HER, not me. We have 4 dogs, 2 of which are puppies and you can believe that we will never change vets now that we have found Dr. MacD. In addition, the other Vet recommended dental surgery on our 2 older dogs, at the cost of over $1,500.00 each. Well, guess what? It was not needed. SOOOOOOOO happy we found LLAC! They are fair and do not charge for unnecessary treatments!
I adopted 2 beautiful dogs for my grandsons. Then and now. Triss and Clover (lighter one)
Everyone who worked with our animals were very kind to them and also very professional. Dr MacDougall treats our animals and us as family. Thank You.
They are so kind and caring. Thank you for making a difficult day a bit easier.
Very kind and caring vet and personnel.
The professional staff and great doctors this is a and tastic clinic for your dogs.
The Dr. Mcdougal is the best Vet. In the county, maybe the State.
THE ONLY place to take your pets in Los Lunas. The staff genuinely care and super helpful. They don’t look to do the most expensive procedures right away and they normally fix the issue on the very first visit.
Staff is friendly and helpful. The vets are extremely knowledgeable and up to date. It's the only clinic in the whole State of New Mexico that does hormone sparing spaying and neutering. I won't take our pets anywhere else!
They have treated our five dogs for many years. They treat everything and they are priced great.
Enjoyable, quick service
The most absolutely professional, loving, giving, unique, incredible staff and exceptional Dr's. I've ever known. If they treated people I would become a patient!
I was trying to call your location to help get situated shots for my new rescue dog. I called and asked the receptionist if she could help me figure out a date problem of when my dog got his last rabbies shots to see if I should take him right away. She proceeded to put me on hold for 10 minutes. I started to think that possibly they forgot about me so I hung up and called them back. When I called back they immediately put me on hold for another 6 minutes before I lost my patience and hung up. I was really looking forward to getting my dog cared for by Mr. McDougall because of his outstanding reviews from friends but since lack of organization and professionalism from his staff is evident I will just have to hope the next choice will be as good.
Very professional atmosphere. Also a good place to take lost pets, to be checked for micro chips.
Where to start? Mediocre care, at best. Returning of phone calls, even critical ones, is totally nonexistent. It would appear, if the front office person Becky doesn't like someone she prevents proper care and follow-ups from happening. She should be ashamed. Wait times are outrageous with never an apology given. One can not speak to or leave a message for a vet. One's pet doesn't even see a vet unless personally requested and rarely is the actual human allowed to go back with their pet. Never trust vets who don't allow as standard practice the person to be in the same room as their pet! The most basic care such as dispensing preventative meds is like pulling teeth. Can't believe they stay in business. I think the doctors are probably good and knowledgeable. Too bad they don't have a good support staff. The staff is rude, unprofessional and petty. They mock patients and make rash judgement calls without having a keen understanding of situations and seem to foster such things without the doctor's knowledge. The docs should fire the bunch and start fresh!
A misdiagnosis of a rattlesnake bite caused my 6 year olds Chihuahua to die. We were told it was a rodent bite and she would be fine. 6 hours later she was dead and we were left to tell our grandchild. On top of that , the vet had the nerve to make his front desk call and tell us that the treatment would have been the same , so it didn't matter. A bit of research on the web and we find this to be a lie. We have been customers for years , but no more. The phone call was the last straw. Avoid them.
Very very helpful my heart goes out to the guys very good at what they do I highly recommend this location is super clean and very friendly staff my bulldog had a c section perform to 2 healthy boys and 2 girls can thank these guys enough
LLAC did everything possible for my Ochie, but it wasn't meant to be. They were wonderful. And now my new kitties love them too.
LLAC has been my vet for decades. Both Thompson and McDougal have been excellent in explaining their diagnoses and treatment for my horses, and once, a chicken. My last visit, I was shown the x-rays, and given a detailed review and options for treatment. Professional and practical, compassionate and friendly .
Friendly and reasonable price
Animals are abused
We always receive great service, professional care & kindness towards our animals. We KNOW they are treated well & are confident their health & happiness are in the best care possible.
Great place
Great Staff and Service. I have a hedgehog and they are the only people in town who were able to treat her.
The best animal clinic I have ever encountered. I feel very safe taking my pet to Los Lunas Animal Clinic. The staff is always helpful and very knowledgeable. My little Pug is in good hands.
This was our first experience at Los Lunas Animal Clinic. My husband was really impressed with Dr. MacDougall. I waited in the receptionist area with my daughter while my husband was with our pup at her appointment and was very impressed with the friendliness, knowledge and professionalism of the receptionist as she went about her day.
Very caring loving staff
Doctors are great, and the five stars go to them. The staff at the front desk is not reliable to say the least - zero stars to them. Like many others here writing reviews, I experienced no calls back, excessive waiting time, and lack of professionalism over the last several years.
Completely happy with all aspects of this visit. Staff was polite and professional. Just wish they were in Santa Fe or Albuquerque.
Great, knowledgeable staff, friendly and very kind to my puppy.
My dog was scheduled for tumor removal. While she was under anesthesia they hacked her nails off. They were cut so short every single nail had bloody scabs with yellow stuff on it. This means they cut her nails without my consent. This also means they kept cutting her nails and didn't care if they bled. I only took my pets here. I'll never trust these people again! Stay away!!!
We love LLAC for the expert care they give our furry members of the family.
Good place to adopt pets
Dr. Mcdougle and his staff have been wonderful with all our animals. Great bedside manners. Especially when we had to put down a young colt for colic. It so clean and professional. Highly recommend the Vets and facilities.
All ways great, staff is great. Drs. Great
Very competent staff
They took such good care of my Bella today. Had to drain an abscess and Monday she needs to go have tooth pulled. Dr T was so so good with her. When my Diesel bit a bee and got stung, Dr M was really good with him. He liked Diesels long long snout and couldn't believe how long his body was.
Consistently HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCES with the reception staff, for years now. They are nasty, they lie habitually, they are manipulative and they are vindictive. These people are also protected by their Supervisor if any complaints are made. Medical care suffers from their refusal to give messages, return calls, and convey information from/to the doctors. They will do anything they can to harm an animal or their owner, if they decide that they don't like either. Various members of my family have experienced this many times, and we always chalked it up to the excuses they offered. Eventually we realized that the Supervisor and staff actually are sadistic and evil. DO NOT GO HERE, your animal's life is at risk and you don't deserve the mistreatment and bad service as well.
Nice service. Expensive but reliable
I have been taking my pets to Los Lunas Animal clinic for over 10 years and they are always on top of their game! If you live in Los Lunas, or surrounding communities - give 'em a try.
Good experience
LLAC is STELLAR! ❤️
Love these guys. They saved my dog and i can't find words to express my thanks
We moved to Los Lunas 1 1/2 years ago from the Seattle area and we were worried that we wouldn't find a good vet in a small town but we were thrilled when we found Drs. Thompson and McDougal. They're both extremely knowledgeable and caring and always explain everything thoroughly. They never push the most expensive treatment and if it's not an emergency will even recommend the less expensive conservative treatment. We couldn't be happier and they will always be our vets.
The staff was very friendly, fast, and informative.
This Vet cost nearly $2,000.00 and didn't even consider that I might be surprised. News flash...I was wrecked! Be very careful!
Very professional. Norma Wilson
Dr thomson is really great he fixed my dogs leg and it healed fast
Dr. McDougall is a fantastic vet. Not only compassionate but also incredibly knowledgeable. I have a dog with immune issues and I would not even consider going anywhere else.
Great vets!
I have been taking my corgis to Los Lunas Animal Clinic since 2005 for xrays. A few years ago, I moved to the Los Lunas area and, since then, have used the Clinic for all my animal needs. The doctors and staff are thorough, my dogs have always been treated well. I have successfully used the reproductive services at the clinic numerous times. I am very impressed with Dr. T's diagnostic capabilities and appreciate his willingness to think outside the box. Dr. Donny takes excellent x-rays for OFA, PennHip or to do a pre-whelping puppy count. The staff is the best -- conscientious and caring!
I will never come back again. I recently took my mom's dog (best friend, child) down we payed for her to be cremated. The Dr promised he was treat her with the most respect and make sure she's took care of. They said we could pick her up in 2 weeks. So the 2 weeks came so we called to see if she's ready and they tell us they spread her ashes somewhere in Albuquerque. My family has lost a family member and we trusted them to take care of her and they just dump her ashes somewhere. I call and the Lady I talked to was laughing at me. It's like really I'm crying upset about our dog and she laughs at me. Very unprofessional. Will never recommend any to thid place.
Treats us all special ...from the owners to the pets.
Great with my animals!
Saved my mom's poodle while she was on vaca! Happy dog, happy mom! Fast to get him in and figured out, thank you!
Never taking my fur babies here again. I went in to see the vet for my dog Riley. She was acting strange, last night she collapsed so i immediately got scared but all the vets were closed so i waited and took her in today this morning of course i had to wait because i had no appointment (no biggy). So we finally get her seen after an hour or later. He checked her said everything was fine on the outside. They did x-ray said her colon or intestine was inflamed. They ran a test on her fecal and came back postive for stress related colitis. He said she would make a full recovery and would just have diarrhea and she should be her normal self. And i would have to give her three medications to get her better. So i got home gave her the three medications like they said to , she went under the bed to lay down like she normally does and died. I don't know if it was the medication that gave her a reaction or if vet wasn't being honest. Just gets me upset. When you think your bestfriend is going to make a full recovery like the vet says and just dies. I would recommend going somewhere else. Also not getting a refund. I don't even need the medication she's no longer here.
Very clean nice people good price
First off I was upset because my puppy became very ill and I was put on hold for about 15 minutes, I hung up and called back, someone answered and hung up the phone. I called again and the woman who finally answered seemed to be annoyed that I was calling. I was also told that a vet was not going to be in clinic today, what kind of vet does not have a veterinarian? I'm glad I dodged a bullet.
I have been trusting the Los Lunas Animal Clinic with my dogs care for the past 15 years. I drive over an hour each way to this clinic. Dr. M is a compassionate & knowledgeable vet & is worth my hour drive.
Dr McDugall is very conciderate and understanding of the way I feel about my dogs
I've always taken my dog here and thank goodness I have because they saved her life 4 years ago! Unfortunately she passed recently although we now have a puppy and we will not take her anywhere else!
Scheduled an appointment for a spay, took her in and was able to pick up my dog in the afternoon. Friendly and helpful with information about my other animals as well.
Service is great, was on and out in no time to get pet vaccinated.
wonderful as always
Donny and his team are the best. Period. If your current vet is not making progress with your pet, or you need a second opinion, don't hesitate.HE has helped us many times over the last 25 years with creative (and successful) treatments when we feared the worst. Whether it's spending hours picking ticks off a ditch dog or treating my son's dog for a serious autoimmune disease, they come through. Thanks Donny!
Nobstars. Be sure your pet doesn't injure itself during posted open hours on Thursday, pick any day but Thursday since they close an hour early that day.
The staff is great and very friendly. They listen to what my pet needed. I highly recommend this place to anyone.
Always excellent care with Dr. Thompson. I always appreciate his kind words, willingness to answer my questions, and most of all, his expertise in treating my dogs. If you want the best, look no more.
Dr. McDougall and Dr. Thompson really are the best! Both Docs. are very nice and caring and we feel very comfortable talking with them. We have been going there for about 8 to 10 years and we have family members who now also go there.
I never feel rushed or pressure, the staff is caring and compassionate, and they truly love our pets and the people who own them. Couldn't find a better place to take your fur kids for care!
I love this veterinary practice, both doctors are absolutely amazing. They treat me, and all of my pets, with a high level of respect and compassion. I will not take my animals anywhere else.
Several years back our Shih Tzu, Phoebe, was attacked and mauled by a Pit Bull (bad owner, not dog) and I don't believe she would have survived without the care of Los Lunas Animal Clinic. Both Dr. Thompson & Dr. MacDougall treated and cared for her along with all of their wonderful and compassionate staff. Today, she is healthy and happy despite her battle scars and we continue to bring her in for regular visits along with our second Shih Tzu, Max. I would feel comfortable seeing either physician as both are excellent.
Would give zero stars if possible. The people here charged me with vet visit to go back with my dog to put him to sleep so he wouldn't die alone. So I paid to go back with my dog in his last moments. As well as pay to have him put to sleep. They promised my dog would be ok, and thats what it boiled down to. I WOULD NOT GO TO THIS AWFUL PLACE. Don't do it if you care for your pet, they just scam you and then make you pay for it double.
I've been to LLAC only a couple of times and I can only compare to my experiences with other vets n the area. So far so good. Prices are comparable or lower than others in the area. More time spent with me explaining than other vets, lab results shared with me, no problem, even got a copy. Didn't have to wait long. So far I'd say they are one of the better clinics in the area.
Best vets in state. Very caring.
My first dog Chow Chow "Archie" was born there and died 13 yrs later all the time under their care. I now have a new puppy "Sully" and he is enrolled with them. I know there are other vet's in the area but I trust them. And that is why I take Sully there. Thanks
As the manager of a 700+ cow/calf operation I depend on LLAC to provide timely and cost effective care. Dr. MacDougall and his staff have been courteous, efficient, knowledgeable and "user friendly". Whether it's testing our bulls, caring for a down or sick cow or calf, vaccinating our horses, I have complete trust in LLAC
Dr. MacDougall did Stifle Surgery on my horse Snickers. He made me feel very comfortable and expressed much compassion. The surgery was successful and his stifle has not locked since.
I've been to several veterinarians, and Dr. MacDougall is by far one of the best. He is knowledgeable and does his best to educate his clients. When compared to other vets, his cost is moderate, but I do believe you get what you pay for. However, his costs are less than your VCA clinics, ect.. Dr. MacDougall takes his time during the examination process and makes sure to answer any questions/concerns you have about your pet. I have not felt pressured in any way to purchase a service that was recommended. He has always left the decision up to me after giving me the information necessary to make an informed decision based on my circumstances. Great vet for reproductive services as well, both canine and equine. I was directed to him by another local veterinarian when we decided to breed our dogs and have been taking our dogs to him ever since.
Terrific animal care, professional staff.
Loving and caring group of people. Showed compassion during a difficult process.
(Not my real name, :)) But my review is 100% real! Dr. MacDougall is the reason I keep coming back to LLAC. This man knows his stuff. His scientific curiosity has led him to such knowledge that his diagnoses have been spot-on. The treatment was thorough and professional. Best vet I know of! We will always be using Dr. MacDougall as long as he's serving. God bless him and all the staff at LLAC!
Friendly staff. Dr. MacDougall is wonderful! Reminds me of other vets from home state that use common sense
Great service and staff, friendly I would be happy to work with them again
Very poor service in all aspects. Waited to see Dr. Thompson 45 minutes after our appt time. There was no thorough exam, just $300 of offc visit/blood work which was quite a shock! He said he'd call with lab results the following day and that did not happen. I had to call three days later to get the results. They said they would call in a prescription. That never happened either. It's now been a full week since we were seen with no action on their part. This is VERY poor business practice.
I have known Donny for over 20 years. I have always trusted him with my animals. I also highly recommend Dr. Thompson too.
The staff here is fast, thorough, caring, and knowledgeable. I love bringing my dogs here because the techs and doctors are very gentle and care for my animals like they were their own.
I've been using my regular vet for years and really like him but my 11 year old dog got really sick and was misdiagnosed, costing me hundreds of dollars and months of delay in proper treatment which almost killed my dog. In desperation I took her to LLAC for a second opinion. Dr.Thompson immediately recognized her as having congestive heart failure and started treatment immediately. He explained the situation better than any vet I've ever talked to. He was very caring. My dog is doing great now. I definitely recommend them.
Friendly staff and great services!
Fantastic, caring staff and great prices.
Very happy with Dr. Thompson and his staff for how they took care of my baby Lexi girl! Very appreciative! Thank you!
I have been working with Los Lunas Animal Clinic for years now. I am a Breeder of Australian Shepherds and because of Dr. MacDougall and his extensive research of the herding breeds, we have fallen into a partnership that was not planned, it just happened because we both care deeply about what is best for my breed. He has helped us with a Breed Specific Shot Protocol and both he and Doctor Thompson are more than happy to take the time to look things up when I have questions and we find solutions together, like a team and then they explain it in a way that I can grasp. They are wonderful at teaching and I love to learn, then turn around to teach my puppy parents how to raise these dogs correctly. Many upon many of our Desert Willow Aussie Puppy Parents have become apart of the Los Lunas Animal Clinic family too because they see the trust between us and are loved on by the entire staff when they come in with the puppies that the Docs have seen from 3 days old with tails and toes being done in office, then again at 7 weeks of age for their Comprehensive Puppy Exam before we get them ready to go home. I cannot say enough about the techs also, they just plain rock. Always there for us when we call, willing to help, find out an answer to a question and the best part? I just love hanging out chatting with them when I go in because everyone is so loving and happy! I can sincerely call these folks my friends, all of them!!!!
Los Lunas Animal Clinic, has the most caring, and funny staff. The doctors care about your pets with compassion and understanding. Well informed, and willing to continue educating themselves for the sake of your pet. They are the best in my opinion. So much so, that there are two local vets that I could and have gone to, and I choose to drive 45 minutes out of town to go to Los Lunas Animal Clinic, where my ferrets are understood. Dr. Thompson and Dr. MacDougal are the best! Great staff, and also a teaching veterinary clinic. What a combo. THE BEST! Trust your pets to them.
Really AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a quote for surgery from VCA & Dr. MacDougall is much more affordable & my wonderful dog is in great hands! Very recommended!!!
If you want a caring, ethical and compassionate environment. My dog has struggled with seizures for years, and Dr. McDougal and Dr. Thompson have gone above and beyond to treat her and be compassionate with me at the same time, words can't express how grateful I am. All of the vet techs are also very caring and really love the pets they care for. This is an amazing place, don't take your pets elsewhere.
We have been taking our pets to LLAC for the past 7 years. The doctors and staff at LLAC have always treated us and our pets like family. We have had to put down several pets over the years and the doctors and staff have always regarded these times as sacred as we have and have given us and our pets the utmost dignity and compassion. I would highly recommend LLAC to anyone.
I have been happy with LLAC for the past 24 years. They have treated me and more importantly, my Boston Terriers, with the kindness and skill needed to keep us all happy. When that inevitable event happens, they were there with the help I needed to get through those Rainbow Bridge moments. I will continue to trust them with my four legged family members for as long as I am around to do so.
For many years I have been adopting older rescue dogs, many with health problems, and Drs. Thompson and McDougal have been instrumental in helping them live comfortable and happy lives. Their medical knowledge and compassion are unparalleled in my experience, and having experienced how hard they will work to make a dog with a health problem comfortable and give him a good quality of life, I will never trust anyone else with my dogs.
Excellent vets and wonderful staff!
I've been dealing with LLAC for 30 years. They've always provided truly professional service. Their concern for your pet is immediately obvious as soon as you walk in the door.
almost killed my dog.
The doctors and entire staff are very attentive and take great care of my dogs. I drive down from Albuquerque because they're the best!
LLAC has been my vet for years. They did everything they could when my George died from Liver Cancer that just devastated us. I appreciate them treating George (and me and Gracie!) like family during such a tragedy. Thank you for your compassion and empathy.
Have been working with their staff for over 25 years, love them all! Dr. Mac is one of the best!
