Just passing by, my puppy was not at all feeling well and quickly took her in. Very polite and helpful.

Well what can I say about this place besides the fact that it is indeed a complete rip off in all aspects for starters we brought a cat in with a minor infection on his back anyone can tell right from the start that it was indeed an infection so how much was the initial charge 93 bucks with tax.... Strange I didn't know that you could make nearly a hundred bucks in less then 2 minutes these people are on to something here so about 45 minutes later in an empty clinic the doctor rolls around to see our little cat for all of 3 minutes before leaving works up an estimate for how much to charge for this infection the total was not $120 or $150 or even under $250 the lowest priced course of action was $278 what all did this include you might be wondering well basically a calming drug a shaving a look at the infection and an antibiotic. Well instead of being robbed blind we decided to settle on getting the antibiotic and applying this at home I thought we were being very clever right well no unfortunately we weren't in fact after looking in to this $80 15ml bottle of antibiotic turns out you can get it for as little as $25 and if you order more then 4 you get a 2 dollar discount on it hmmmm I do believe in my attempt to avoid getting robbed blind I just got robbed with my eyes open. So would I go back or ever recommend then to anyone I know or even just an acquaintance no i would not instead I would tell them that they should use the internet to find out whats wrong and for ways to treat not to mention there was a least 1 degree on the wall showing that they received it from a distance learning center instead of one where they get hands on training

Spent over an hour and a half before my dog was seen by the Vet. Didn't feel like an "Emergency" clinic what so ever. Waste of $99. Hope they had fun mopping up all the blood after all that time.

Don't take your animals here unless you want them to die extremely rude, unhelpful, no regard for your pets, treat them horribly, treat you horribly. Your pet will be better off not going at all no matter how severe the condition if you want them to live drive to el paso

Our Farm Dog, Gomer, got bit by a baby rattler here in Elephant Butte. The Vet at LC Animal ER was real helpful over the phone - then when we brought our boy to the ER down in LC - the Vet was even better! He gave us common sense options, costs and a recommendation. Our dog is fine now and we have peace of mind. Thanks!!! FYI: here's a photo of him all swelled-up...

The amazing staff and veterinarians here saved both of my dogs lives on different occasions. The most recent being this past weekend. They took such good care of my dog and made sure she was comfortable during her stay overnight. They called me to give me updates and even called to check up on my dog after I had taken her home. Thank you to the wonderful people here, you all are amazing!!

Very nice staff and was nice to my sick and scared dog, they explained everything with diagnostic options. 24 hours is a relief to have for emergencies, I hope i wont need to but will come back if needed.

I have waited a week to write this review, because it has taken me this long to calm down about the lack of care for my dog. I gave it 1 star because zero stars is not available. We took my little terrier in because she had chased a lizard under a cactus, and got cactus in her eye. Waited 20 minutes to be seen with a dog that was in agony. The doctor looked at her eye and said there weren’t any cactus needles in her eye, they she just had a scratch in her eye. Gave us an ointment, and $200 later sent us on our way. For a day and a half, I saw my pooch struggling and could tell she was not right. Being new in town, we didn’t have a vet yet, so I quickly got online and read reviews of local vets. I called Arroyo Veterinary, and she was seen right away. The doctor saw right away that 5 cactus needles were very visible. She found one inside her lid and told us that it would be best to sedate her. When we went back to pick her up, the vet told us that she had a bunch more that they took out. This doctor at Arroyo was fantastic. She was compassionate, and extremely caring. I am so infuriated and angry at the doctor at the emergency clinic. He hurridly looked at my dog for 5 minutes and told us that there weren’t any needles. Because of him, my dog suffered for a day and a half. If you love your pet, DO NOT take your pet to that clinic. They hurt your pet instead of caring for it.

I had to change this review after learning things from my staff. Pick somewhere else private office, not hospital.

Took my dog there after he got into a fight with a javalina and needed some stitches. My dog can be aggressive with strangers and can be difficult to deal with even when he's not injured. But the staff there did well with him and let me keep him clam until he was under. They explained everything what they did to the wounds they found and what I should do after words to keep him healing well. He made a quick recovery thanks to them. Very grateful for them

Excellent service. They saw my dog right away. Doctor presented multiple options, even willing to make separate estimates for each option. I declined one option and he didn't pressure against my decision. Quickly provided estimate for the option I chose, even with additional High and Low options. Estimate included detailed cost and explaination by technician. Prices comparable to normal vet office except visit price. At normal vet, they charge $10 for walk-in, $120-140 if you keep them after office hours, plus $40 exam fee. The initial fee at the emergency clinic was just shy of $100. So happy I decided to come here instead of keeping my normal vet office staff late. Just over 24 hours later received a follow-up call by the technician to make sure my dog was doing ok. Again, had an excellent visit and would come back in a heartbeat if needed again.

Awesome staff! They are understanding and you have to give them the benefit of the doubt, the prices are for the convenience. If your animal is in need of help don't complain about the prices! Over all amazing clinic!!!

These guys are straight up crooks!!! My fiance took our dog Sunday afternoon since they were the only place open. We had a gut feeling that our dog had parvo. First off the initial charge is 99.00 regardless of what they do. Next they charge you for each individual test even if it's not necessary. They try to con you that your dog needs it. My fiance told them to start with the parvo and if it isn't to look at the other test. They pushed back and were extremely rude. Our dog needed a iv to keep her hydrated. They charge 60.00 per session and only give them a small amount. They don't allow you take it home to treat your self. Any normal vet would allow you to purchase the fluid for 10.00 (a huge bag of fluid). The next day we call our regular vet to get a prescription. The vet said they need to confirm with the 24 hour vet on diagnosis. The 24 hour vet said they had never seen us and don't have record of us. Bottom line this place is a complete scam. Do not take your pets here unless your wanting to get little service at a high price. They take advantage of you.....we would of saved money and had better care at our normal vet. Buyer beware.... complete scam artist!!!!!!!

Not recommended if you want quality care. Rude and abrasive staff.

First, was it expensive, yes , of course it was. 10 PM on 4th of July. It was not out of line with other emergency clinics I have used in past. I had stopped for night at truck stop in Las Cruces. Took my 8 month old puppy in after she tore back toenail off into the toe it's self. After 3 hours I couldn't stop the flowing blood. Called and they assured me the were open & what basic 1st charge would be. Arrived and they took her straight to back while I was filling out paperwork. They let me in back with her while they checked her out and quickly gave me several written options. They let me stay until she was under & let me be with her when she woke up. Dr Lopez got the bleeding stopped and stiched her up. I was able to take her back to the truck with me that night. They sent me off with extra bandages and the meds she needs. All the staff was great. They called me a couple of days later to check on her.

Seemed good to me. Was only place open on a saturday and my dog had something caught in his mouth/throat. Called and was told the price for initial exam. They seemed up front about everything and everyone was friendly. I would reccomend.

I live in Alamogordo, where it is very hard to find a good vet after hours or on weekends. Dr. Lopez and the staff at Las Cruces Animal Emergency Clinic saved my akita's life when he bloated on a Sunday night. Thanks to them, my boy is still with me! I am very, very grateful that this clinic exists.

Mark Tercero

The staff is very compassionate and understanding, I most definitely recommend this office for people who consider their pet as family.

They did everything they could to help my dog. I’ve been here twice for energency situations and they review pricing before they do any procedure. Sure- it costs a little bit to go here but it’s understandable because they are an emergency clinic. I’m so thankful for these vets.

Listed as an Emergency Clinic 6PM Friday to 8AM Monday. NOT!!!!! Called around 5:50 on Friday about a stray kitten we had found trying to cross Locust. It had one grossly protruding gob where the left eye had been and a matted shut right eye. The last Vet had just left and we were referred to El Paso. They get 1 star because they answered the phone.

I gave them a 5 because it's not there fault ... I know it's just how it works and no ones to blame but me. I had the money to get my pup checked out but that's just it only the check up not the other test they wanted to give him.. I'm the only one working and we found a pup little did I know that this pup already had parvo .. I called some one answer real nice. Politely. The check up was 90 I have then she continued to say that the other test would come out to 500$ I asked is there a payment option again politely she said no I'm sorry.. I honestly wish there was an option. But that's just the way it happens I guess .. Any ways I'm glad with that team it's not your fault

They have merged with the Animal Hospital and are no longer located on Wyatt

It's good to have clinic Like this with awesome staff who understand your emergency. Did not felt at all that they trying to rip you off because of your emergency. Thank you for taking care of my baby. :)

I have to give credit where it is due...the single star was earned by the very sweet girl who answered the phone and checked us in. She was the only redeeming feature of this place. Sunday at 10 am, came home to my dog bleeding badly from an injury on a front foot. Did my best to wrap it to slow the bleeding and headed for the only place in town that was open. The nice girl at the front desk took us straight to an exam room due to the bleeding, and that is where the waiting started. Had to wait a considerable amount of time for the vet to come in, pat the dog on the head, and look at the puddle of blood on the blanket. No attempt to even look under the wrap or make an effort to see what kind of injury we are dealing with. 30 second diagnosis, then walks out the door and leaves us waiting some more. Finally a tech comes in to give a very brief and uninformed estimate, which had a very painfully priced low end and even more painfully priced high end. At this point we had been there for almost an hour with the dog bleeding on the floor so I went against my better judgement and opted for the low end just to get the poor guy some treatment. I left with the assurance that they would call as soon as he was fixed with an update. Said call never came, and after impatiently waiting several hours I called and was told that he'd be ready to go home at 5 and that the procedure went much easier than expected (note that the price didn't change). Showed up at 5, didn't walk out of the building with my dog until after 6. Vet didn't even come out and let me know what happened, and the tech essentially handed me the meds, said to give them 2x daily, and wished me good luck. For what I paid for a relatively minor procedure, I'm certain I could have gone to El Paso and received much better service. Live and learn, but I won't be using this clinic again and will not recommend them.

Two stars because the doctor didn't seem to care that my dog was having diarrhea since Thursday night, let alone how today there was some blood in her stool. Because of how she was acting, all excited because she loves going to the vet and people, they weren't as concerned. They offered us two options, which was nice because they did a break down of cost as well, but didn't tell us side effects to look for after agreeing to the cheaper of the two options. They offered a military discount, but did the discount wrong. Drove over an hour(one-way) to get there. I'm grateful that they were open on Sunday because there's no vet open or on-call in Alamogordo--which is RIDICULOUS, but driving that far to see an emergency vet is silly also. They need to show more compassion and care for the animal and the owners especially in scary situations... Will NOT be going back again, I will find another emergency vet that has better reviews.

Extremely dissatisfied with the care my dog received at this clinic. It was a Sunday, so I did expect the prices to be higher but this was outrageously overpriced (my usual vet said I was completely ripped off here and received poor care). My usual vet called this clinic the following day to get information from the Veterinarian who saw my dog and they had no idea what they were talking about nor had any record of my visit the previous day. I read the reviews for this place but I was desperate so I went here anyway and have deeply regretted it. The vet spent less than 10 minutes with my dog. I do not recommend taking your pet here, honestly your better off waiting to take your pet to another vet in town. I wasted so much time and money going to this place.

They attended to my dog very quickly and went over all the pricing. My dog was attacked by another dog and was bleeding badly from her ear so as soon as they saw us come in, they took her straight to the back. The staff was very friendly and understanding that we didn’t have much money. They even gave my dog a donation cone of shame so she wouldn’t scratch at her stitches. I’m hoping I don’t have to come here ever again but if I do I trust them.

First and foremost, I do NOT recommend this place in any shape, way, or form. Please read the following as to why: Their policy should state they do not accept pets after 7:00am to allow them time to check out current patients and get ready to go home. I called at 7:20 am to make sure they were open and was told they close at 8:00am. I advised the receptionist Yvette, what was wrong with my pet and she told me that they were closing in 20 minutes. (She needs to learn basic math by the way; correct answer was 40 minutes). She went on about how much the labs and x-rays would be, but in an emergency does that even matter?! Cruel and inconsiderate. It's very clear she didn't want to do her job and people with animal emergencies are not welcome right before they close ... You know because they want to go home rather than deal with an emergency. Their bottom line is money and going home on time, NOT animals. I challenge management to contact me. Update: At 7:30am I pulled into Calista Animal Hospital and noticed an employee sitting in their vehicle. Apprehensively, I approached him and advised him of my situation. Calista Animal Hospital went above and beyond by opening their doors 30 minutes before their actual time. All staff was compassionate and extremely helpful in understanding what was going on. My canine is currently being monitored under great care! While in the waiting room, I called Las Cruces Animal Emergency Clinic again and the same lady answered. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told there is no one to speak with and couldn't tell me when to call back for one. Very strange way to treat people. Signed, Former Animal Control Officer

My kitty ate some medication NOT intended for him and I was unsure of how serious it would be for him. My regular veterinarian was closed and I gave these folks a call. The person who answered the phone was able to walk me through what I should do (make him vomit), how to do it, and gave me reassurance without having to bring him in. Can’t say enough how thankful I was!

Mrs Ruelas

They are so kind, gentle and caring. Our little Hunni was sick and they helped her feel better on a late night visit. Thank you for understanding how important our pets are to u <3 will continue to use in case of emergencies
